it won't last the whole game, it'll last much longer than it does currently but it's not as strong as it is currently
What rank do you play at...? Only asking because there definitely is an increase in the amount of times a totem is broken as you get higher up.

It's not a 1shot though. I don't get why people call Plague's corrupt purge a 1shot. It's just that it can be done in quick succession.
It's only considered a 1 shot because nobody cleanses. : P

Try to be unpredictable when looping. If a spirit is phasing, she'll often try to be optimal, and predicting optimal survivors is easy.
Spirit players often don't care about crows, but I hate disturbing them since survivors can clearly see them fly off. It ruins stealth in her TR while phasing.

This has to be a bait post. Why does this community do nothing but whine and cry. For killers, let's just line the survivors up for you so u can get your 4 k every game, like fish in a barrel. Who needs challenge when we can just hand you everything you need, no skill required. And for the fewer whining survivors we can just hog tie the killers so that everyone can win ALL the time. No fun at all. Everyone needs to just relax start playing for fun again and quit taking everything so dang serious. It's just a GAME.
Not everyone is happy with the state of the game. Not everyone thinks like the straw-man argument you've constructed. Stating that anyone who has a gripe with certain things (like core design) is just complaining is unproductive. Now, he didn't mention any ways to help with that, but gave lots of opinion, some good, some not so, but I don't think this poster has any mal-intent with this thread.
Not like the survivors who wanted Nurse nerfed and actually got her nerfed.

The balance is fine. If you don't have any power as killer it means you're just not playing good enough.
If your killer can't keep up with experienced survivors, it just means you're terribly inexperienced.
Theoretically, you are correct. Fundamentally, however, the mechanics are heavily in survivor favor. You can't deny that.
Then survivors complain on forums about nurse and spirit... then nerf Nurse... when other killers need buffs first. Make all killers viable, then start nerfing if it's over the top.
Red ranks are just going to be spirits and billies at this rate, and I don't think red rank survivors will like that very much. Or, there won't be any killers, and you'll wonder, "What happened to all the killers at high ranks?", not realizing you were what killed off the killers there.

I disagree with this, there are some horrible maps out there such as haddonfield, disturbed ward, ormond, temple of purgation, etc... This is why I'm excited to see what they have ready for the map rework they will be talking about on the anniversary stream.
What you don't realize is that there is a specific playstyle that is incredibly unfun that denies a majority of the killers in the game their power (the exceptions being Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Hag & Huntress) by never healing and only ever doing generators to pop adrenaline and escape causing some games to go by very quickly which is worsened by bad maps.
Because of this some killers are flawed and here are some examples of that;
- Some killers are flawed in the sense of luck such as in the case of Trapper & Pig.
- Some killers are flawed in the sense that never healing denies full & proper use of their power such as in the case of Legion & Plague.
- Some killers only have a power that focuses on one aspect of the game such as Clown who has a chase power that doesn't do its job well enough on some maps and also doesn't focus on other parts of the game like applying pressure.
- Some killers are fine with addons but struggle heavily without them such as Wraith.
- Lastly, some killers are just really bad like Cannibal who barely gets to use their power unless the survivor makes a heavy mistake.
Ignoring this and only looking at the 5 killers who are in a great state means you ultimately ignore the fundamental issues the other killers heavily struggle to put up with.
Edit : I've even heard plenty of experienced streamers in the game say that there are simply just some matches you will lose. There are simply some matches you will lose whether or not that reason is out of your hands or due to basic mistakes, that does not mean however that we shouldn't look to help fix these problems to better improve the game for both sides.
This is the main point. This right here. This game is certainly survivor balanced, not because they were weak to begin with, but because it's always been that way. And survivor mains think that's fine...

If no one buys it then it would absolutely matter. I would buy it, but if the majority of the community wouldn't buy it then they wouldn't make it.
It would get publicity and people would buy it regardless (if not for the killer or survivor, then for the perks, or heck, the fans of FNaF might come to this game if that were to happen).
I'd be glad for the option, at least.

You are the typical survivor main who thinks that if you are good enough you can beat a 4 swf of experienced players with freddy or trapper XD
You should use Legion or Bubba for that argument, because Trapper and Freddy are both decent killers.

Yea, but good luck ever getting the community too agree on adding FNaF too Dead By daylight. The arguing would be legendary.
If the the will was there with the developers and Scott, then it would be added. It's just a matter of that. If the community likes it or not is irrelevant. They can argue, but it doesn't really matter.
-
Most of the time I have ruin, it doesn't last a minute, and if it does... it's a rare case of just dumb luck. It's a totem designed to buy time, not last the game. If you want a totem to last a game, use Devour or Huntress' lullaby instead.

I'm kinda surprised how narrow minded a few points are here. "Terminator isn't horror therefore it wouldn't fit like other characters do"
First of all I'm talking about Sarah Connor in specific. Not the actual terminator with guns and all. I get how guns don't fit dbd but I never said that they are needed if Sarah Connor or a terminator chapter happened.
I'm honestly sick and tired of some of you creating your own made up guidelines on what is or isn't allowed to be a chapter.
Terminator is sci fi horror. Alien is sci fi horror, Stranger Things is sci fi horror The Terminator isn't suddenly something irrelevant and incompatible to dbd because you said so.
I mean, terminator could work if they didn't have guns. They've got the terminator in Deathgarden... so it's possible for them to carry the franchise over.

I can't see a character from FNAF actually working in this universe, but I want it because it would turn the forums into a battle field and I would love too see that.
As for Terminator, it would still work well. I would crap myself if I saw a t-800 bearing down on me. IDK what his power would be, but I could easily see a killer +survivor combo being made from Terminator movies. And just because a movie isn't horror doesn't mean it can't be used for a chapter.
THe only way I'd see FNaF working is if they used Springtrap or the Nightmares. That's it. Springtrap is essentially a robot encased zombie murdering their way through the world, while the Nightmares just look horrifying to those that gaze upon them.

I’m gonna add another “No” here. Just to clear something up, I’m a survivor main. Currently Rank 3 Survivor and Rank 6 Killer (<- Queue times are trash on PS4 at Rank 3 Survivor).
NOED rewards Killers who aren’t confident about their ability and can also act as a really good late game option paired with the likes of Blood Warden. It should absolutely not be changed because if dealt with correctly, it won’t activate. Ever. If you seriously doubt your teams ability to destroy up to 5 dull totems (less if more hexes are in play), then run small game, Detective’s hunch or a map as others have said.
It’s annoying when you put the work in for four totems and the fifth happens to be NOED, sure, but that’s not your fault, nor the killer’s. Your team have not done you any favours. Yeah, it’ll suck if you have to leave someone behind or get left behind yourself, but if the totems were destroyed you wouldn’t be in that situation in the first place.
Also it’s not as if survivors have more than plenty second chances too. Guess what, they mostly have work arounds too. You don’t see killers moan about X perk being OP nearly as often ever since the reworks of DS and MoM, both of which were very necessary. NOED used to be much worse for survivors, back before hexes even came into play. It used to be a flat 2 minute time period of instadowns similar to how Hope works. It also got nerfed as a hex either once or twice. It now has a counterplay, which some people willingly ignore because... reasons.
In short, if you come to expect NOED in every game, you get into the mindset of removing all dulls as a priority. This will obviously mean less deaths to NOED while gens take a little longer than normal. Only one survivor needs to look for totems, though Inner Strength is a good incentive to remove all the totems too so you get a health state on demand while lessening the chances of NOED causing problems later.
Did you just say the DS rework was unnecessary? DS absolutely needed changes. I still think it's a tad strong right now...
... but I agree with everything else.
-
I main legion because I like their look, lore, and stabby stabby style. (I also like Julie too.) : P
I've grown fond of Demo with Devour Hope though because it works so well! : D
Trapper because it's rewarding to get people stuck in them and moving them around so they don't predict them is great. : )
Spirit because I need to know one high tier killer up my sleeve.
Basically, if a killer has good synergy with STBFL, then I'm sure to like it. (Spirit doesn't really, but she's good regardless.)

Mmm, I'd agree. Ace as a Survivor I just don't like xP. I wish Adam was a bit more geeky/mad scientist ala Dexter's Lab but I like him and,his Perks WAY more than Ace & his Perks except Ace in the Hole being decent for Item hunting.
What, you don't like the gamblin man runnin from the mob? I find his lore amazingly funny and cliche. XD
-
I like the idea of having traps for Legion since it works with the playstyle. Legion is an information killer, and must act on it quickly. Setting up ambushes makes sense with their lore anyway, so I'm surprised it wasn't there...
I would advise instead of just disappearing in smoke, that they attack then run away behind cover before vanishing. That way it feels like there is more than one killer is in the map at once. It'd require a bit of coding on the Dev's part, but I think this suggestion would give Legion a non frustrating element to them.
Oh, and maybe they chase after the survivor that triggers the trap until they get hit or they miss. That'd be cool too.
-
Deadite Ash wouldn't make sense since Deadites act more like killers than survivors.
And I don't think that'd work, since nonhumans probably wouldn't be able to fix gens... unless it's a little grey alien or something similar... : P

I'm fine with the idea, but this guy is right. Most of the time after you down a survivor, you'll drag them off to a hook. By the time you'd hook the player the cooldown would be up anyway. So when you think about it, all this would do is promote slugging. Personally, I just think the the cooldown should be shorter period. Not by a lot. But a couple of seconds would go a long way.
Or if you stab someone, maybe have a KI indicator of any nearby survivors for a few seconds. If that were the case, then I'd want the cooldown cut in half. Other than that, not so much.
-
A bit of both. I'm not necessarily great at chases, but as a primarily killer player I understand how to outplay most killers (still working on countering spirit). However, I am great at stealth and there are times where I barely escape detection because of maneuvering (even without urban evasion).
-
Hate to say it, but that wasn't Vigo, since they referenced trying to find Vigo (this isn't philosophy, it'd be weird to try to find themselves in the fog, although it is technically possible). It's unclear who the protagonist is, but it's perceived to be Benedict Baker, since he stopped making quotes for maps and characters after that event.
On the topic though, I'd love to see that continuation, simply because it was left on a cliffhanger. I wonder what the Entity did with that protagonist, if he was made to hunt, or if he was simply put into another trial? Who knows...
-
Doesn't sound too bad. It rewards GF for playing the way they do... although to be honest, if you're hooking a survivor you downed with marked, you'll probably have your power back by then regardless. : P
-
I don't mind. I could use the practice.

I like the look of the Legion in general. It's generic, sure, but still distinctive compared to others in the roster, and I like running around stabbing people.
The information Frenzy has given has also been a lifesaver (or life-ender in this case) many a time.
I also like Julie a lot in general too, the concept of someone doing something so horrible for love... given to the wrong person... just sounds endearing... don't you think?
A variety of reasons is probably a more accurate description I guess.

Well, then make a question to the thread author, instead of just claiming they have issues. That is a far more productive route and may help you understand.

I love the weapon and the hair and the neon orange effect, but I really don't like the bubblyness of her skin. I'm a spirit main and I feel kinda sad that they did that to her. None of the other killers got disgusting bubbles like that, but they had to do that to her. I would've been fine with it if she didn't have the double chin.
Im guessing they wont take it away now that it's available for purchase.
Nurse got the same treatment.
-
I don't like Spirit's body cosmetics this time around. Her sword is amazing, but I really don't like the bloated look they gave her blight cosmetic. I wish they gave a treatment similar to Trapper or Huntress: Keeping the same general look toward default, but not changing it too much. I like the concept of making her more Oni like, but not the bloated look. Same thing with Nurse, to be honest.
Then again, I like certain killers having some elegance, like Plague, Spirit, Nurse, and Julie. : P

It's about outsmarting the enemy when they outnumber you. Strategy in context of a single person, in a similar way to halo. While getting cross map snipes may be satisfying, it doesn't get you wins in the long run.

Umm... I play Killer the most so I will take the angle of Lore!
Clown and Legion cause how how fricken REAL they are. Ghostface for the same reason.
I agree with that too. Some killers are not realistic like Spirit, but killers like the clown and Legion are all too real...
Makes me realize maybe that's why they're weakest, because they're the most realistic. : P
-
Either Spirit or Plague.
Spirit because of how she looks and plays in game. It's terrifying if you make the wrong play. Her sword also would lacerate a survivor instead of just basically cutting them.
Plague because of lore and look. Seeing this ancient priest make you sick and therefore increase your suffering dramatically before killing you. Similarly to the Pig, actually.
Most killers just hit you twice to down you, but the plague hurts you internally. I guess I can just sympathize with the survivors when thinking about stuff like that.

There's more toxic killers then there are swf. Which I don't see a lot of swf. I don't even okay in swf. Once in awhile I see ppl in FB group asking and not everyone joins. It doesn't encourage anything. It makes things more fair for all players in my opinion. Noed is over kill.
Hahaha... I didn't realize you used FB as a credible source. Most killers I know are very chill, and are only toxic if survivors are first.... and I didn't even MENTION toxicity once in my response. I spoke from a mechanical perspective.
If a killer is only camping their totems (which only a few killers can reliably protect totems, such as Trapper, Demo, Hag, Billy, and maybe Legion... only maybe with Legion), then just do gens or get out. They're not doing their job of stopping you from leaving.
If they nerf Adrenaline, then I'll consider a NOED nerf.
However... Noed is a Hex, which means it can be deactivated before it's in effect, Small Game is a weakness in particular. And this makes it unreliable, and therefore, rare.

I understand why so many people are upset. I don't think they should've touched her basekit either, but crying about it in the forums isn't going to do anything. The devs are still going to make it official, regardless of how many people are against it.
You're forgetting that nurse needs her blinks to traverse the map, not just to catch survivors. She's very slow, so traveling without blinks is a massive waste of time.

Yeah, you should know I have nothing against legion, I'm just being realistic about their situation with those that care about ranking.

-
Either Legion or Clown.
Trapper can actually do well at higher ranks, it just requires planning.
Leatherface can do well for similar reasons.
Wraith has some trouble, but can still get the drop on some people.
Clown has only chase potential, but no stalling potential, making him very weak.
Legion cannot down people with their power when every other killer can. This is ludicrous.

Why are you talking about toxic? Mori is op, so was instaheal. The difference is, as you say, mori can be toxic tho, insta not really. Also, mori is definitly more broken then Instaheal
Yeah, but how often do you actually face a mori? They're not common at all. I never said moris themselves (as in the offering itself) are toxic. I said toxic people use them in the worst way. Don't nerf the offering just because you got morid once. (My same argument for the reason why Nurse basekit shouldn't be nerfed just because some used omegablink).
Instas could literally reset all the progress a killer has made, and I've seen countless survivors instas and be completely toxic, while I've only seen a handful of toxic killers use moris.
Besides, if you want to kill all 4 with a mori, it takes much more skill than to use an instaheal or key.

By your account of things, there is no unbalanced ability or addon. It is all up to whether you use it. So survivors could have a shotgun offering to kill the killer and it only counts if they choose to use it. LOL. No, that is not how it works. Try again
Omegablink, Locker DS, the old Frank's Mixtape + Stab Wounds Study... there have been a lot of unbalanced things. Two of those examples have been taken out of the game, and I'm all for it. But think about all of the "fun" things survivors can use:
All exhaustion perks.
Keys.
Instaheals (which are being fixed, like omegablink).
Second chance perks (Second wind, Deliverance, Unbreakable, DS, BT, Adrenaline).
These are all ways survivors can make fun situations for themselves, but the killer has to use certain killers just to stand a chance at higher ranks. Then they have to use ruin to make sure they are able to stand a chance.
If that shotgun was added like your example, I'd be all against it because it's not balanced. Moris are because for every 1 game with a mori, you'll probably get 10 games where you escape. It's not common and it leaves no room for error on the survivor part, which is what survivors hate, because it takes more skill in that case.
