  • Lately, I have been playing tons of Stardew Valley (rather close to 100%) and also went back to Sims 4.

When it comes to single player, simulators and virtual novels are my favourite thing.
  • Honestly, I dont feel hook placement changes will change anything. It just makes hook offerings work in a more different way.

Even if you don't spook the crows crouching up to the gen, you do spook them while repairing. Every 15 seconds I might add.

    Use Calm Spirit ffs

    Just wait for it.
"Survivors shouldnt need perks to counter Killer mechanics!"

  • Are you sure that this happened recently?
Because if I remember correctly, Botany Knowledge did not affect the "Snap out of it"-Option, and I had it equipped until yesterday.
    (All post-2.4.0. obviously)

    Yes, just the other day.

Both his Ultra-rares arent good to me either

Well, Iridescent Button is pretty nice though. I had a match a few weeks ago where the person used it to find the last person by picking me up, forcing me to escape his grasp, hit me with it, down me and head towards the other Survivor waiting for me to die to get the hatch.

  • I would like another part of the estate called "Yamaoka Gardens". Wish fish ponds (no fish, of course), broken wooden bridges (like the one in Family Residence), even hedges. Maybe even walking through the water could slow you down, or make more noise.

  • I dont get the point of Quick and Quiet. So, basically, waste pallets without alerting the Killer? Also, I think you messed up the cooldown part. :P

Windows of Opportunity should just simply not have a cooldown. Even then it would fall as underused.

And about Huntress Lullaby, I did notice how you removed the Hex perk status, and its effect has to be adjusted accordingly. But, by "reducing skillcheck noise", you mean lowering its volume or keep it like it is now?
  • Because of the faster vault speed, being Myers one of the few Killers who can speed it up without using Bamboozle (which is the other perk that usually comes with vault speed builds). Still not worth a slot, but whatever.

  • No, it would be 3.4%. A reduction of 0.6% (15% of 4%). So, it does nothing basically.

Some people say that there the survivors have different hitboxes but I'm not sure about it and I don't know if anyone texted it properly, David King have the biggest hitbox and Laurie Strode or Feng Min the smallest.
Also, some survivors hide better than others, Claudette is the queen as everybody know.

All Survivors have the same hitboxes. Confirmed by devs during a stream in which they talked about Huntress hatchets.

There is little point to this, because, if it was implemented, then what would be the point of the Killer leaving the hook? Even if you Deliverance'd your way out, the Killer would hit you down back again and hook you again. They will see that you are not dying instantly and think "Oh, this person has Deliverance, I will stay here".

    Y frames are a thing.

Invincibility frames? You just wait 1 second to hit them and thats it.

    My general purpose build is:

    • BBQ: Mostly for the BP, but the aura reading effect works best on her.
    • Whispers: She makes the best use of it because of her phase gauge. You can check general areas while phasing, and if Whispers doesnt go off you can save up time and move to the next one.

X and Y can be anything:

    • Sloppy Butcher: Really easy for Spirit to spread damage, so focusing on lengthening healing time is a good way to slow down generators.
    • Devour Hope: No one expects it on Spirit, or they would assume its Haunted Grounds.
    • Haunted Grounds: Good combo on any Killer, really. Combine Haunted Grounds with any hex perk.
    • Ruin: Yes.
    • Rancor: An alternative to a tracking perk. As Spirit you are less affected by the aura reading from Survivors since they most likely would be seeing your husk's aura.
    • Spirit Fury + Enduring: As Spirit, you can force Survivors to drop pallets on you. Might hinder your mindgame potential, but a viable strategy if Survivors dont fall for them.
    • Predator: Good during phasing to know their exact location. Doesnt work every time since they might go back on themselves though.
    • Bloodhound: Only with Father's Glasses. But Sloppy Butcher helps with that and adds the mangled effect, however.

I generally choose to avoid terror radius perks (M&A and Distressing). M&A works well with Prayer Beads, but it does the same with Prayer Beads alone in my opinion. Distressing isnt too game changing, and might even be worse depending on the player you are facing.

    Edit:
Completely forgot about Stridor, another viable option, especially once they fix sound issues.

What about the improved Spies in the Shadows? Would that be helpful?

The thing with Spies From The Shadows is that its not that bad of a perk, but crows are pretty unreliable. The buffs to it were much needed, but still not enough to guarantee a slot. Until they add more crows to the maps, it will remain in DBD's history books.

  • Let Kate's booty lead us to the exit gates.

  • Well, lets see...

Trapper: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
Hillbilly: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
Wraith: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
Nurse: Bamboozle, Spirit Fury, Enduring, Brutal Strength.
Huntress: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
Myers: Depends on how you play him.
Hag: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
Leatherface: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
    Doctor: M&A.
Freddy: Might be less efficient with hex perks if you intend to guard them, but not inviable. Overcharge, Unnerving Presence.
Pig: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
Clown: Cant think of any particularly bad perk.
    Spirit: Insidious, Bloodhound, Bitter Murmur.
Legion: Any exposed effect perks, Predator.

Then we have perks that are generally bad and dont work unless you are doing a niche build. Tinkerer, Monstrous Shrine, Unrelenting, Spies From The Shadows, Overwhelming Presence, Territorial Imperative, and several others.

Then we have other perks that only work on certain Killers with certain add-ons, like Fire Up on a vaulting build on Myers or Wraith, Distressing on Doctor, etc. Or are extremely situational, such as Dying Light or Hangman's Trick.

I played Spirit with yellow addons and got bullied btw. I'm starting to think she's far too addon reliant to actually be good without them. She deserves a 12 sec cooldown at base.

Try playing her with brown addons and then complain lol, yes she's addon dependent to an extent but playing with the lessers makes you better. I like to run 2 different addon builds on her depending on perk loadout and what i see in lobby.

Both her ultra rares are nice but my favorite is Prayer Beads and Yakuyoke Amulet, throw in Bitter Murmur, Rancor, Tinkerer, and M&A and go jumpscare happy to pieces.

What I found is that if you practice a lot with the brown addons you learn to play better since your margin of error is way less. You have to play much smarter and more sneaky and M&A is great for that since you've got to get a lot closer.

Whispers is also good with brown addons along with Stridor, Bloodhound and NC.

Wait wouldn't M&A give away my phasing? Since I'd have a 16m terror radius when I start to phase?

He is pairing it with Prayer Beads. They wont hear your heartbeat from when you phase, your phasing sound and your heartbeat after phasing (unless you land next to them).

Thats what I have been saying ever since the rework. Calm Spirit is utterly useless against Clown, its only strong against Doctor. Extremely situational perk, since its only current use is against a less popular Killer. Considering Spies from the Shadows is getting buffed (still a meh perk, but whatever), it makes sense to keep that counter.

Actually, the Doctor giggles when shocking a survivor even if he has Calm Spirit. Can't remember if you get the points pop up, but still you can know when you shock them.

But if you are getting shocked, the Doctor player definitely knows where you are. Calm Spirit counters static field madness tier ups (these score events stop appearing after a while) and failed Snap Out of It attempts.

So I was in a KYF doing some testing and discovered that if you're playing Clown and throw a bottle at a survivor with calm spirit even though you won't scream you still get the 150 BP notification which kinda gives it away that there's someone there and ruins the whole point of this already trash perk. Should just be changed to not leaving blood/leaving less blood

You only know that a survivor entered some of your gas areas, but you dont know which area in particular. But yeah, its weaker against clown than against doc e.g.

But Clown always knows the exact gas area you went through, because its used during chases, and in almost no occasions you will be out of his line of sight.
  • Leatherface was the first one to hang a victim from a hook. He deserves respect.

Were there pallets in that movie as well? And if everyone died, were they rank 20 Survivors?

  • Lesser map offerings were removed from bloodwebs a few patches ago. But people kept those offerings and use them sometimes. I see the cow tag for Coldwind Farm from time to time.

    @Aven_Fallen said:
    b) you would have tons of those in your Bloodwebs, making the Grind even longer.

Would lesser rarity map offerings take the place of rare map offerings during bloodweb generation, or will it just take up space in the centre of the web? Either way, wouldnt you be spending less BP overall? Common BP offerings have little use, while these map offerings would be at least somewhat effective.

  • Ebony Mori spam time.
  • How about you just let me enjoy solo Survivor as it is now? :P

  • I feel The Game got darker with the engine update, too dark. I was playing Clown, and the room below the pig vac felt so dark seeing a Claudette was difficult. And it was mid-chase, she wasnt hiding in one dark corner.
  • I lobby dodge for fun. I wait for the countdown to reach 6 seconds left and leave lobbies. I call it Last Second Dodging. Like it?
  • Appropriate name for Nea.

  • Nah, just kidding.

Might have been said before, but its extremely important. Play Killers that you actually truly enjoy. In my case, I never fully enjoyed Killer until I tried Clown and Spirit (this is my preference, might be different for you). I never get stressed it with the Killers I enjoy playing, even during really bad matches.

It might also help doing Survivor matches in between Killer matches, if you are on a bad streak. Kind of like a "cooldown period".

I think it's my most hated map too. Together with Azarov's Resting Place and Blood Lodge.

I like Azarov's. Easy to keep track of totems and force 3-gen setups.
  • With Tenacity being on the Shrine this week, I actually remembered another amazing moment.

There was this game that eventually turned into a 2v1 with all generators powered up but gates not opened. I get downed by this Hillbilly, and I see David/Dwight at the door opening it. That Hillbilly leaves me on the ground, and with Tenacity I go across the entire map crawling towards that door. The Killer lost me (wasnt expecting me to have Tenacity), I get healed by David/Dwight and we both escape. Post-game chat was the Killer saying "Tenacity, really?".

Like, Tenacity is nowhere near enough overpowered and extremely situational. And I was playing Tapp. You cant expect a Tapp not to run Tenacity.

    Becausean infinite trap like scenario?

Y no limit trap like hag tho???

I was about to say that...

What if he could have 10 traps, and when he places all ten of them, the circle arrow mark appears. If he tries to to place more than ten, the earliest placed trap (the first one) disappears. Just like how the hag’s traps work.

If a Survivor disarms a trap, the trap goes back into his inventory. If a Survivor sabotages a trap, there’s a cooldown before the trap goes back into his inventory. This cooldown could be altered by add-ons.

You know how you can crouch to get past Hag traps?  Try to do that when a crapload of bear traps are surrounding the hook.

Its 2019. Trapping hooked Survivors hasnt been viable for a long time (unless its the basement).

    Either NOED or BNP.

Other than those, Sprint Burst and Balanced Landing.

How were SB and BL nerfed?

First they were unlimited use with a cooldown. Then they introduced Exhaustion, which replaced said cooldown (forcing you to only one one of them at a time). And then they made Exhaustion not recover while running.

  • Either NOED or BNP.

Other than those, Sprint Burst and Balanced Landing.
  • A sickle or a circular saw. Or a scalpel.

And when I said scalpel I got a disturbing image of Clown in a nurse outfit with a white tunic and miniskirt.

These perks don't necesseraly help against that add-on. Also, why should survivors need to bring a certain perk just to counter a completely unbalanced add-on?

    Oh my, the irony. Right?

  • Whats the point though? If you rubberband = you are lagging. You cant just say "Oh, my ping is currently 250 ms, that means I have to drop the pallet/vault/use Dead Hard 150 ms sooner, derp!".

  • @WaffleFalafel said:
People who have played this game a long time have consistently hit DS, Overcharge, and great skill checks in general. Assuming you are talking about the PTB Self Care, I don't think adding a perk that just makes skill checks a little harder is going to be a real penalty.

I think he means making skill check bonuses (aka how much you progress through a bar when you succeed a skillcheck) worse the more you heal with SC. Like, by default, it gives 5% progress, then 3%, then 1%, and so on.

  • You got the purpose of splinters right, but there is something borked with them showing up on bloodwebs even though you have the respective Killer unlocked. Do you have all licensed Killers unlocked?

  • Also remove Survivor Pudding because the description is offensive.

  • I really cant wait for it. Feng's dress looks amazing. And events are always an incentive to deviate from the everyday matches.

Love how Genrushing is apparently a term.

What else do you want them to do? If they loop you, then it's "No fun and/or bullying", body blocking is toxic, besides totems and rescuing when it's required, what else are survs supposed to do?

Genrushing is just as dumb a term as tunneling.

Genrushing is a thing, but people give it a bad connotation. Survivors may be forced to do it by the circumstances. But that is because the core gameplay is flawed.

  • @Warlock_2020 said:
Yes, and yes. If you had done that with me, I would probably have stopped wiggling after the first attempt. If you dropped me and said no, I'd reluctantly give you a shot to see what you are about. Unfortunately, many killers have lost all trust. I watched a LF getting owned by my son and 3 other random survivors. He then starts acting like he wants to farm. I told my son not to trust him and sure enough, he quickly downs three of them and tries to chase my son down. He ended up face camping one of them. Keep in mind, these guys were all solo, no flashlights, only 1 med kit (my son), and had finished the last gen when this occurred.

I find it hard to convince survivors that I'm either farming, in the rare instance I'm willing to, or that I'm just playing around. I make it obvious. For instance, I run Chili matches where all I want is 4 stacks of chili and then I let them all go. If I down one a second time, I drop them off at either a hook, or a gen and leave. I still have survivors talk smack after a match when it was so obvious that I was being benevolent. Most of the time, they don't though. They are pretty cool. (It helps when you have a jiggly-dancing santa clown screwing around!)

    MINDGAMES!

  • Well, the transition from Doc to Legion might be better because you will probably have M&A's teachable unlocked, which is Legion's most precious perk (probably).

Its interesting how you are choosing between two stalling Killers.

  • 1) Shattered Bloodline. Obvious reasons. And map is an aesthetic masterpiece.
    2) Curtain Call. Other than the introduction of my second favourite Killer and Survivor, it introduced so many much needed changes.
    3) SAW. The Game is definitely the best map they have ever designed because of its dynamic nature. And Miss Piggy.
    4) Nightmare on Elm Street. Quentin main here. And, Freddy was fun to play against, even in his original form.
  • My lobbies are fine. On Killers, they fill up quite fast, unless someone quits. As Survivor, sometimes its instant, sometimes a few more seconds.

The only problem with old matchmaking was that it prioritised newer lobbies over the older ones, which I always found stupid. So easy to end up in a lobby with 2 or 3 Survivors for eternity. Hopefully the new matchmaking will take care of this.
  • So, using your power the way its supposed to is apparently "crutch". And, Clown is simply meant to be a Trap-less Trapper, Chainsaw-less Hillbilly/LF, etc, aka, a M1 Killer. I suppose you learn something new everyday!

  • "Wallhacks." - Object of Obsession user.

Even to this day, Im not sure whether they actually meant it or if they were just joking. They seemed to be fairly new to the game though...
