I would put trapper higher than that personally. His power doesn't require precise aiming or reflexes, just using your noodle. It's an instant way to end a chase, or catch someone without even chasing them.
Certainly higher than Freddy, at the very least.

You can still report them. With these new settings you shouldn't be affected by the filter even if you are reporting stuff.

Sticking to how he does stuff in the movies:
- Hold M2 to go sneaky. Greatly reduces terror radius, also reduces movement speed to 3.85m/s.
- Let go to stop sneaky.
- If you stop sneaky within 16m of a survivor, they scream out in terror (let's call the ability terror for simplicity's sake) and become exposed for the next 60 seconds. (You'll also need LOS to do this. Can't just do it through walls. It could have slight delay so you don't get screwed because they just went around a corner at the last second. Auras of anyone who you're sneaky-ing on are revealed as long as they'll be affected.)
- Once you stop sneaky successfully, you're locked in for three seconds. This gives them a headstart and a chance to not just get instantly downed with no warning.
- If you fail to sneaky and the survivor sees you and run away, you can either continue slowly walking around like the coolest cat in town snapping your fingers as you walk down the street, or let go and start chasing as normal. When you let go, your power enters a 30 second cooldown. You aren't locked in if you don't scare anyone.
- A survivor that was in a chase in the last 60 seconds is immune to terror (because they're already alert). This prevents you from just popping it mid-chase. It's like an ambush, not a "boo, comin' to get you".
P.S. Works on all survivors you see. So if there's three people crowded around a generator, they'd all be exposed.
-
I always thought it'd be neat if you were just 100% silent and didn't leave blood trails, but could not ever heal. Sorta' like a "play stealthy, if you get caught, you dead" type deal. Still wouldn't be the most useful because you're still technically worse off than just stealthy while healthy, but it would also open up opportunities to run injured perks, as well as open up the possibility for more in the future.
-
I could get behind some of these. Although the one I don't really like is decreasing the RBT time. It's not really meant to be a killing tool, it's meant to force that survivor off of generators or to prevent them from leaving. If anything, I would like to see a change that makes it not 100% RNG. It's infuriating when you stick a trap on someone and the very first box they search has the key they need. It would be nice if the first box was guaranteed not to have it, making it a minimum of two boxes searched to remove a trap.

Heyo.So recently there were some changes that tightened up the spam filter in an effort to stop bots. Results are mixed. There's a little less, but they still get through. This is where the funky stuff comes in: When you report a post, it shows up as an actual thread in a secret place you guys can't access (much like Steam forums, for anyone who's ever moderated one of those). So what I think is happening here is that you report a post, it creates a "thread" by you, and that counts towards the spam filter.
I'm going to see if we can loosen it back up. Ideally you shouldn't ever see that unless you are actually spamming, and it might be a little too strict right now.
and i found a bug where someone tries to quote and it fails to do so and when i click on Post comment it blocks me for spam as well please.
Is this something that happens frequently?
I've got a theory for what's happening here too. The "bot" we use flag what it thinks is spam posts. It's not always right, but it does catch a significant amount of spam. Often times it'll flag excessively long posts as spam and send that post to a queue for mods to review. What might be happening here is that when you post a reply with a bunch of nested quotes, the bot goes "Nope, that's spam, look how long that is." because it's actually posting each quote in that chain. So in reality, the post did go through, it was just sent to that spam queue until a mod comes by and goes, "This is a legitimate post." That would explain why it doesn't go through the first time and then blocks you the next.

Huntress was free as well. Doctor and hag are only "free" on consoles, but the game is also more expensive there, so you're still sorta' paying for it.
-
Heyo. I want to leave this open because there have been a couple decent debates in here, but there's an awful lot of insults being thrown around. Let's try to keep it civil. Disagree with someone all you want, but name calling isn't adding anything to your argument.
-
Going to go ahead and lock this for fairly obvious reasons.
-
Macros are not something that we actively ban for*. Chances are the software you're planning to use is disabled in efforts to prevent botting. However, if EAC starts to detect it and bans you, we will not be able to help. So use at your own risk.
- The only time we do actively ban for it is when someone is using macro software to 'bot'. (Macros that create lobbies, ready up, then just stand there and swing to farm points.)
-
Real talk, those shard prices ain't that bad. I thought it would have taken much longer. It's really not that bad when you consider people already put thousands of hours into the game, so that's a very real option. Free stuff just for being cool and playing.
-
Or less clothes, if you know what I mean. I'll settle for either.
-
Been in one, yes. I don't get in them anymore. It's not worth sitting there for half an hour for a trivial amount of points. I just hit them and let them go. If I already killed three people, I probably don't need the points anyway, I'm probably capped at that point. Especially given the 2,500 points are deviousness, and I play trapper.
Same for survivor. I don't need the points that bad.
In the time you spend sitting there for a few thousand points, you could start another round and get way more. -

What you described basically sounds like bloodwarden though, except bloodwarden already pairs very well with NOED, so I feel like it would be best to leave it as is in case people want to run an end game build.

I would give killers the possibility to mori survivors once they have been downed 3 or 4 times without getting hooked. Counter would reset on hook. That's a lotta' damage. It'd be impressive if someone manages to down someone four times but can't get them to a hook once. It's not that hard to get rid of blockers.
I've always liked the idea of a perk that gives you instant downs while carrying a survivor when 3/2/1 survivor(s) are within 16m. Adds some risk to it. You could save a teammate, but it might backfire.
We are talking about a anti bully mechanic here. We could add additional prequesites. But every killer has experienced this situation, where you can down a survivor, but you can´t reach the hook because of DS, flashlights, pallets, body blocks and/or sabotage.
Flashlights are a non issue these days. You can face a wall to hard counter a flashlight save, and with how tight the angles are and how fast the pickup animation is now, the only way someone could reasonably make a save is if you're in the open and they're already right there.
But if there's multiple people there, I'll just drop them and start swinging.

I don't really think the red stain makes a difference (*!). By the time you see it, it's already too late.
The exception being low settings, where it goes through walls. But I feel like the solution there is to make it so it doesn't go through walls regardless of graphics settings. It has a very, very minimal impact otherwise. Being able to see what the killer is doing through a wall, no es bueno. -
Heyo.
So there is actually a system in place to punish people who disconnect. On a monthly basis, anyone who disconnected from over a certain percentage of their games received a softban. The reasoning behind this is as you mentioned, sometimes there are legitimate times to disconnect. We also want to leave the option open to leave if you're just plain not having fun. It's just an issue when you're doing it too much, because it hurts the other players in the lobby.
Although we may be able to detect *how* someone disconnected, you shouldn't differentiate between them. If you only punish intentional disconnects by clicking the leave button, people will catch on and just start pulling the plug to avoid punishment. It would trick the game into thinking you just list connection. So it's important to treat them all equally, but give a margin for error.
As for being able to buy 'forgiveness' from the shop, I wouldn't want to see this. This basically creates a "pay to disconnect" system where those with extra cash to throw around are above the rules. The idea is that we don't want to see that type of behaviour in the first place. -

Yes you are correct. For all new players who stumble upon this post:
the only excuse to attempt it is if you’re the last person in the match.
Nailed it.
But yeah, struggling is a last resort, unless you're specifically running a build for it. It kills you faster for a very small chance to unhook yourself. Wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

This has to be my favourite. Mix and match laundry day trapper.

The cosmetics they're talking about are the alternative outfits. e.g. Feng Min's weekend clothes. Buying the character with shards or AC will not give you those alternative outfits.

We're experimenting. It definitely cut down on the spam in the attack I've seen, but we're going to see what we can do. It sucks when you're posting legitimately and the filter goes "lol no you spamming". So if we can find a better way, we're going to.

I would be a Moderator. A killer and survivor player, I've sunk hundreds of hours (even thousands, PS4 doesn't tell you) and as mentioned I am a PS4 player, so it'd be someone who is able to look into the PS4 DBD communities and see their opinion too. I have lots of time on my hands so I'd be available for the majority of problems. Though I doubt I'd be of any use since I only speak English. And my references in terms of online moderation is severely lacking XDI only speak English as well (not counting the five French words I remember from school). Back when I got into this, I didn't have any experience either. Then before I knew it I ended up as a mod for Dead by Daylight and PAYDAY 2. So never say never. <--- That's my favourite Justin Bieber movie.
I would be tempted to say that more than anything, attitude is what makes or breaks it. Experience can help, but the way you act helps way more.

No. Look I'll be honest, there's no way I'd do it. Y'all's lying if you say you would. You'd be stuck in an endless loop of dying. I know it's a "sacrifice yourself for the good of everyone else" type deal, but it ain't my fault they went out in the woods.
Plus it'd end up being a 1v1 because nobody else is there, so that's extra dying. No thanks, running away from things isn't my strong suit anyway. -

For most, I agree. A brown add-on doesn't need a downside.
Though for the super powerful ones, I'm okay with them having downsides to make them more fair. I shudder to think what scratched mirror would be like with no downsides. -
With the new decisive strike, it sounds excessive. It won't cause the killer to drop you, it'll just stun them in place. So in this case, we'd be talking about a perk that can only activate on your last hook and only stuns the killer for a few seconds without causing them to drop you.
Seems a little overkill to me. -
Hello doctors! This is getting a little off topic, so let's, y'know, keep it on topic.

I don't really think it's necessary. You're already on there for two minutes anyway. That's enough for each survivor to do a generator, and then team up to get another done. Kindred would reveal that the killer is facecamping, so that bit's already covered, and showing each other's auras would help you coordinate.
So basically by default, you just need to do one more generator, if you haven't already gotten one done by the time they're downed and hooked.
-
I would either say that, or just show them. If a killer sees a survivor one, they already know it's going to be a shroud. If a survivor sees a killer one, they know it's a mori. Might as well just show them so the other side knows what they're dealing with. It would probably make it less frustrating to play against moris if you know that it's only a cypress, or give the killer some counterplay if they know that all the survivor spawned together (and that there are likely to be more nearby).
I'm okay with either way, really.

They'd better fix their game not to allow that much toxicity, and put actual anti-bot system on their forums rather than putting bandaids like they do, and relying on "mods" to clean the mess everyday. There is a bot. Bots aren't perfect though. It's a balance between making it too picky and flagging loads of legitimate posts as spam, and not picky enough and letting too many through. You'd be surprised how much the bot catches.
It's mostly just timezones/schedules. We got it covered just fine, I just wake up in the morning and find that I've been pinged a dozen times while I was asleep.
-
It's definitely horror. If you watch most people playing the game for the first time, they're usually terrified. Exception being those who already watched a lot of the game on Twitch/Youtube.
Though once you've played it a bunch, it'll of course wear off and turn into more of a game-game. Even still, I see moments where a good Myers or pig scares the hell out of someone who's been playing for a long time.

The cosmetics are the alternative outfits for the survivors. The Auric Cell versions only come with a single outfit (the one they're wearing by default).
So for Feng Min, for example, that would be her weekend clothes.

The bloodlust changes have been planned for a while, it's not as a reaction. If people are upset about exhaustion, why would they change bloodlust? Would it not have just made more sense to revert the exhaustion changes, or just scrap them to begin with?
You say that it counter looping, but in reality, it doesn't. Like you mentioned, even if they do get bloodlust during a loop, as soon as you throw down a pallet their bloodlust gets reset. It serves to punish the survivors who rely on windows and mindgames more since bloodlust continues to accumulate while vaulting or going around obstacles, and only resets while breaking pallets (or breaking the chase for an extended period of time).
Honest question though, because I've asked this before and got the same answer just about every time, when was the last time you actually got to bloodlust 3? Bloodlust 1 (most common, will often happen before even a single pallet is thrown) is unchanged. Bloodlust 2 is only slightly reduced.
I ask because for the most part, it's not going to make a difference. Even if you do get to bloodlust 2 on a regular basis, (assuming 4.6 base speed) you're still getting a ~8.5% speed boost, compared to the previous ~13% boost. That's the difference between closing the gap 66% faster vs. 100% faster. It's still massive. BL3 now closes the gap twice as fast as compared to three times as fast.
I have only ever reached bloodlust 3 a handful of times, all of them intentional when messing around with speeds (e.g. How fast can I go with PWYF and NOED while in BL3? A: REALLY FAST.)
Now don't get me wrong, I'd welcome some map changes, but I definitely think the reaction is way overblown. I have rarely seen it used out of necessity. The vast majority of the time I see it used, it's because someone's getting outsmarted and outplayed (killer constantly falling for mindgames, taking the long way around, running loops/tiles the wrong way), and so the killer ends up moving at supersonic speeds. Hate me all you want, but in those cases, I don't think the killer should get a speed boost. If they're getting outplayed like that, they should be a lower rank and that survivor should be a higher rank.
What I'd really like to see: Rework it completely into a different mechanic that specifically counters running along the same path over and over and over. Make it so it doesn't activate just because the killer keeps making mistakes, but because the survivor is using a cheese tactic.
-
Devil's advocate reporting for duty. That would cause a few things to happen:
1. The first few generators would feel absolutely awful to do. An 80 second interaction is already pretty long, and making it longer would make it really boring. We're talking about over double the time per generator here. Two minutes is still 50% longer than what it currently is.
2. The last generator would actually be shorter. This makes a section of the game where things are spiraling out of control for the killer. You'd go from, "Okay, I still have one generator left, I still have a shot." to "Okay, I still have one gene- and it's done." This serves to shorten the already short endgame.
3. Ideally if anything, the curve should go the other way, where the first generators are faster and the last generators are slower. This would at the very least ensure that the survivor side makes progress early in the match, while the killer takes control and slows things down part way through.Although ultimately, I don't think it should be changed like that (going either way). Raising generator time isn't the right way to go about it, because staring at a three minute progress bar would be incredibly boring.
