You said something nice about console.... I don't know what to say............. hmmmm ty

Why is there not a killer perk to increase the number of totems yet? Or an add on like with chests but for killer?
If this was added I would make it an offering or a perk, as an add-on to a power would make no sense, unless a new killer's power interacts with totems in some way.
That totem counter to help out solos would also need to be added if this was implemented, imo.

If you don't tunnel and camp, if you don't run meta perks and addons, top tier killers, etc....
Survivors will mercilessly bully you, insult you in post game, call you a tunneller/camper anyways, chain stun you and tea bag you on the way out and then tell you how bad you are.
So I mean it's no wonder so many killers turn toxic as hell or just quit playing.
Kinda glad console doesn't have the chat box yet...

i would say new players in general have a bad time getting into this game. It’s of course different if you start with friends that are experienced in SWF but being a new soloQ surv is not any better than new killer player.
Sucks trying to talk friends into playing this game. Taking newbie survivors into a SWF can help some as i explain what to do when, and what the killer can do. Luckily my rank hasn't been screwing up the lovely matchmaking, and I die getting everyone else out.
So they learn some, and the newbie killer learns some, but it's a poor azz substitute for a thorough tutoral. And it doesn't really prepare anyone for solo play either.

So, I could live with if one player DCs you get a safety pip, but full blood points. But that's because I'm still working on getting the perks I want and need the bloodpoints. (At 54 bloodwebs, I finally got BBQ tier 1... stupid me for prestiging.) But honestly, I think it should count for sacrifice and devout emblems as well.
I've been playing for 3 months now and until this week, 99% of it was as survivor. The only "bad" (in my book) killers I've encountered are the ones that camp/tunnel. I've not had any that I would consider toxic.
What exactly does a toxic killer do to make him toxic?
It's very subjective, and often colored by one's own experiences. Some say toxic is slugging at 4-5 gens remaining and hooking no one. Some say playing Huntress with Iri Hatchets & belt. Some say even just playing NOED. Although I don't do it myself, I've seen a Piggy bodyblock the 4th Jigsaw box to see a head pop. Some others consider Franklin's toxic, or just Ruin/Undying these days.
It kinda is all over the place, precisely as a definition of Tunneling or of Camping vary greatly.

then long queue lengths for survivors is the new normal for you at this point
I rarely use Crossplay so been normal for me, although killer lobby times are always better.
I based what I said off the devs changes over the past three years or so. To be seriously considered, I believe any suggestion we make should keep the following in mind:
-doesn't split playerbase
-doesn't hurt queue times
-considers all ranks
-doesn't "punish" anyone
-applies equally to all platforms

anything that doesn't put them in a queue a killer can choose to not enter is not good enough after removing moris from the game and even more so with freddy about to be made into garbage along with anybody's guess which killers worth using next. I guess they'll have to get used to being dodged or long loading screens that ultimately result in going straight back into queues after finding the killer crashed or closed the game by the offerings screen if they pull any switcharoo ######### in the lobby lol.
They won't separate the queues they have consistently only made changes that will neither split the player base or hurt queue times. Putting SWF groups somewhere over there would do both.

There's really only one thought that is in my head that I can't get rid of, and that's the idea that SWF is mainly strong because of the information they have. So what I have to do is make a perk that removes enough information to SWF to ruin them, but not enough to ruin solo survivors. This is the best I have.
Panicked Confusion: While within 20 seconds or in the middle of a chase, a survivor is lead to confusion which infects a survivor as they panic for escape. Within 30 meters, survivors see fake windows and pallets 6 seconds or within 8 meters, and fake lockers, chests, and hooks for 12 seconds or within 3 meters. Other survivors within 20 meters also sees these fake objects.
Idea was to make SWF survivors give wrong information during a chase, like imagine some original and unique jokesters with QnQ and Head On and some guy yells "jump in that locker so y'all can stun him" and then the locker vanishes and they die. Need a lot of tweaking, but I can't spend too long on this right now.
Wouldn't Kate's perk Dance With Me undo everything proposed by this?

I'd love Distortion to regain tokens as well. Maybe a slower effect like the pebble currently does. If a trade off is needed, lower the max tokens to two, but I don't think that is necessary.

If Victor is placed underneath a hook he is impossible to get rid of making it so that the killer can instantly down a survivor being pulled from the hook since there is no chance of borrowed time. This needs to be addressed. Having Victor camping a hook to get early warning of someone saving the hooked person is fine but making it impossible to remove him and impossible to get a save is completely unbalanced.
I haven't seen this in action yet. Yikes! There aren't too many Twins being play s on Xbox these days.
-
Pretty much any status effect causes the fps drops and issues you described on console. The most obvious are Sloppy, Exposed, Mangled, Mend, Haste, etc. But several other perks & powers even suffer from the same problem: Myers teiring up, a chest being searched nearby, a gen popping nearby, Lithe kicking in, Bloodlust activating, and many more.
Those frame drops are even more pronounced on the indoor maps, especially Lery's.
-
While it would be nice to get some of these charms, using it as bait to watch streamers seems dirty to me. I think some of them are Fog Whisperers, and it's hard for me at least to relate to any of them when I'm pretty sure not one is an Xbox player.
The first round of these codes left a bad taste for me, especially the long codes with a short lifespan that is just so fun to try and smash in with a controller.
If the charms did something, anything to justify the effort maybe. But they are just trinkets for the belt line, barely visible, or for my hooks. I shouldn't get worked up about them, and neither should anyone else.

I've always wanted the totem counter to be the DBD logo claw marks, located in the basement or another building on each map. So either role could saunter in and see how many are still burning. As a bonus insidious basement Bubba now has a chest and wall art to guard!

This is unacceptable. One match feels unwinnable, the next feels like a walk in the park. For killer and solo survivor this is true. SWF is the only semi-exception because you have control over how good your teammates are.
Add more ranks if you must. Expand it to rank 40 or something. There's too many weak players getting matched with strong players. Balancing becomes impossible when you factor that in.
I'd like to know exactly the kind of skill I'll be going against when I come into a match, instead of always guessing. MMR would fix all of this like it does other games, but you know: "Too complicated!"
Their new MMR isn't ready yet, eta unknown. So the flawed system is still in use, and is being aggravated by far too few killers to go around. Especially enough red rank killers to take on the better survivors.

I know how controversial it is, but without those you have to strategically slug. I sound like a broken record repeating this but my most used Clown build is Coulrophobia, Forced Penance, Distressing, Sloppy, no add ons. Sometimes I swap Distressing for Overwhelming Presence or Deathbound. Anyway, nothing meta as you can see. I quite often have games where the first 2 or 3 gens pop early, but after that no further gens pop, and they get stomped. Why? I strategically slug a LOT. I end most chases with the goal in mind that I want that freshly downed survivor to be a DISTRACTION. I almost always want at least 1 or 2 slugs happening before I focus on a chase that results in a hook. This keeps any survivors out of a chase too preoccupied with helping teammates, and in a constant state of chasing their own tails.
I’m not doing a flex here. Just trying to help.
Without gen slow down a killer needs to shift their mindset: “How do I keep as many survivors as possible busy with distractions, including how do I USE some survivors as a distraction as well?”
This sounds so fun so go against, but darnnit I know it is effective. Have you run into similar Clowns when you surv?

Very helpful.
Keep in mind us lowly consolers have no Cross Progression, nor is it coming anytime soon. Would you buy the game again, grind every character all the way up again, unlock all needed perks again, purchase all wanted DLC's again, plus whatever cosmetics you love? Oh and the cost of the PC itself too?
As far as the OP, I suggest practicing short range hits with her, as I've seen a most effective strat is to gently place a hatchet into a survs back pocket, followed up by the big ol' ax drop. So get in there and get close. As a surv on the receiving end of her it always seems she throws whale-sized hatchets that are homing and can curve around trees.
Bottom line: practice and do not give up! :)

This would be a serious problem, as changing Achievements on console is an extremely long & painful process with Microsoft and Sony, just ask the devs for details about that. It is part of the reason any change to Moris was comparatively simple but Keys would not be.
Any relevant Rift challenges would also have to be looked at, old ones as well as new.

That much regression would give the newer surv players and rookies too much trouble, possibly driving a few away even, but the suggestion has merit I think.
We just need to work out the numbers.

I was on console for 3 years so when I moved to PC I had to shelve sloppy butcher against console players.
For those that dont know perk notifications like Sloppy or NOED on console would freeze the game for a nearly full second. At least it did back when I left for PC at the Pyramid mid chapter. It's incredible how much they let down the PS4/XONE players in that regard. I can almost gaurantee they'll abandon optimisation patches for them completely
For a variety of reasons I will be on my Xbox1 for the foreseeable future, the biggest being low availability on the Series X, but I doubt I'm alone in this situation either. The devs have said they will continue to support all platforms. They also said we'd get a steady 60 frames almost two years ago. I guess I could use some reassurance, hope, tea leaves, whatever...

Landing Victor’s pounce is very similar to landing a close range hatchet with Huntress. The hitbox is smaller and more directional than a standard M1 lunge attack. PC Survivors can spin like crazy to take advantage of that, so its much easier to mess up. Console Survivors, however, usually don’t have the sensitivity to do crazy spins so they get hit much easier.
So pro tip for Twins players. Reset your Survivor lobbies until you get console players. It’s a decent advantage
That's your advice? Purposely target console players? Because of control limitations that can be taken advantage of?

Hi All,
I started playing Killer this week and I'm a level 12.
Over the past two nights, I'm being matched up against teams of level 1s almost every game and it is very difficult to do anything.
I know I have to get better, but for someone who is just starting out and learning the ropes, its tough.
Is there anything I can do on my end to get more like-level opponents?
With the current matchmaking this happens all too often. In my region (EST NA) the best survivors come out at night day from 6pm on, often in teams. This includes me I'm around rank 2-3 although I'm not a very good looper.
Because solo is just so fun I team up if anyone is on Xbox, but do go it alone. Because of all this I know better than to roll out my Piggy (rank 14 on a very good day) after that time, or I'd get me and similar survivors or much much better rank 1's.
Bottom line is I suggest learning when the best play in your region and plan your gaming, either take them on or wait for the magical new MMR system.

Or just get rid of indoor maps! ;)
Although is like to see a stormy rainy nap with varying weather in it. Hard rain coming down in a character's face, affecting visibility. Maybe lightning can strike a gen, with a 50/50 shot of either filling it 10% or popping it for -25%.

I was Bill and you were Wraith. As the last survivor I waited for you sweetly at the Hatch to communicate GG. I was crouched submissively and dropped my med-kit. You closed the Hatch and sacrificed me to the Entity.
2 games later, I was Bill and you were Pig. I saw you crouching slowly towards me while I worked on a gen. I came off the gen and crouched over towards you to sweetly give you boop snoots. You downed me and sacrificed me to the Entity.
I hold no ill will, but for those screaming all survivors are toxic- really? I've been such a nice survivor this year, I hope Santa sends me some luck as I cry in the Fog 😭
Now listen here I said i was sor........
Oh wait that wasn't me.
In other news i got the same SWF team twice in a row yesterday, who despite being on comms were, um, uninstructed. Yes let's go with that. One helmet kill the others three hooks a piece in the first game on the Swamp. Second game I recognized their names, and was in the Corn. Another head pop but otherwise shenanigans were had by all, and I let three squirm on out.
Bottom line all are not evil monsters, but it really is up to each killer to decide. With the recent changes not many are full of sweet reasonableness and holiday cheer.
Also I do suck as killer.

But this doesn't change the points made. Namely that it caused survivors to know keys were getting nerfed, so they get to use theirs up, but killers didn't, because they got no warning. Like they said, they should have just disabled use of them both at the same time.
My point is whether any change to Keys was ready or not was not likely considered when the change to Moris was up.
We players are the ones who coorilate Keys and Moris together. The devs obviously so not. I do my best to not to see things only from only a killer or surv point of view, but sometimes fail.

I'm suddenly thinking how similar Victor is to The Jockey from Left 4 Dead 2.
Only difference being that Jockey can make Survivors go where he wants, albeit there's some struggling.
Can't Victor become able to do that through an Add-on?
Add additional effects, negative and/or positive, to make it balanced, sure.
But it'd be kinda cool to throw Survivors out the window of Coal Tower for example.
Maybe a much stronger effect like Boil Over does, with short intermittent actual steering of said survivor.
Some may not enjoy watching themselves run back into the killer, or away from an open hatch or door. Bet it would funny as heck to watch though!

I agree ignore no one, but I have noticed the devs consistently only add & change things across all platforms or not all. I imagine it is to not show favoritism.

- SWF. I want either a seperate game mod for swf with a balance around them, or to be able to opt out of playing against them.
- Matchmaking: Make it work!
Until now, i used moris to compensate for swf and bad matchmaking which paired me against players with a much higher skill level. With that no longer an option, i will not play killer until i get fair matches where i don´t need them.
No, i don´t want to get gud, i want to play fairly on my level. I play survivor most of the time anyway, and the biggest problem of solo survivors (bad teammates) can´t be solved by the mori change anyway.
1. The devs have only made changes that will not split the playbase nor harm queue times, and have been very consistent in this. Your proposals would do both, and I believe any suggestions we make must be framed with both in mind, as well as all ranks in mind. The only method that makes sense to me is to raise Solo play much closer to SWF then rebalance around that. Exactly how to do that is very debatable.
2. The biggest problem the game has imo. The devs have stated a new MMR system is in the works but not finished. I get the frustration with this one I really do. Patience is needed here.
I don't play killer a lot anymore, mostly due to performance issues with this game on my Xbox, but I certainly feel it when I go against players much stronger than I am, and any coordination among them (SWF or not). Getting paired as a rank 17 with all above 9 survs just sucks, and is far too common. Most times they do all the gens, bust all totems, and make off with my pride, wallet and left shoe. Every so often I can take advantage of their over-auteristic ways and get 2-3.
Point is I still play killer once a week or so. It also makes me a better survivor to see both sides in action. And killers are badly needed right now, for queue times and to get the devs the data they need.
-
I envision a huge to-do list the devs are working from, probably sorted by priority and time-needed. I see it functioning kinda like this:
"Here are the Mori changes that we discussed, ready for approval. Coding was simple just small number value adjustments. Tested 100% across all platforms."
"Approved"
"Approved, include in 4.4.1"
In other words it was included now because it was ready now. I firmly believe they consistently send out changes by priority as they are ready in their opinion. Simple as that.

Blight is like Nurse in that he'll forever be limited simply due to controller limitations. That said, he's far more playable than Nurse since even if you're terrible with his power, he's a 115% killer with amazing mobility.
An important thing to remember is that you're going to be turning your lunge (during a lethal rush) towards where you believe a survivor is going to spin you. The attack's hitbox is strange is that it's shorter in terms of length, but a lot wider. meaning, you can hit people who just on your screen by a pixel at times.
That's the thing though, whenever I go against an Xbox Blight he can be both dodged and spun easier because he cannot turn fast enough, even with full sensitivity upped. And that's without fps drops added to his woes. Xbox Billys suffer from the same weakness, which I think is why these two are not seen much inthe higher ranks.
The amount of practice needed to master them on console is almost as demanding as the rarified Nurse. And you still need generous lovins from the framerate entities.
-
@tomas11403 said:
I play a fair amount of nurse (ps4), and I can hopefully help a bit. Obviously fps is pretty crap, and the most difficult part of this for me is landing a hit when I blink right on top of the survivor. This is tough because you can't really spin around to find them, the frames are not good enough, so its more of a guess. To fix this, set your first blink up to be within range of second blink, then use that second blink to land just behind the survivor. This does a few things. 1) makes the hit a lot easier to get with low frames. (2 if they double back you'll catch them out for hopefully an easy hit. Point being, blink just behind survivors, not into them, it's easier to land the hit with low frames.
Don't go for too many predictions, as this will lose you a ton of distance.
If your sensitivity is high enough, when you're going for a max range blink flick your right stick upwards. You will see someone with a mouse flick their screen upwards as they release the blink, this allow them to get the most value out of the blink.
Don't be upset when you lose, nurse is very difficult on console, and you will lose many, many games in the learning process.
Learn your lunge distance, try to get out of the habit of swinging too often, if they seem out of range, the fatigue without swinging is shorter, so its best to just fatigue.
One personal bad habit I have is immediately charging my second blink after landing my first, this prevents me from getting a hit if someone doubles back into me.
At least give shadowborn a try, a personally like it, but its not for everyone.
Hope this helps at least a bit :)
They are correct about the missed swing after a blink it takes even more time to recover, during which LOS is usually lost.
I gave up on her long ago on Xbox after hours & hours of no kills and few hits, and apparently before the bug infestation. I vividly remember the big boat in the Swamps being a nightmare, and Lery's and Gideon both soul crushing. I pray you find more success.
