You dont need 1k to build a pc that can handle dbd
No, we need those promised 60 steady frames & better optimization to run this port on consoles please.

Would it make a difference on Spirit with the tv speakers across the room, or really only if you have headphones?

Based on their recent history that doesn't seem accurate since they took mori out of the game, the only incentive for some people to not dodge a suspected or profile confirmed swf lobby or to blow off steam after a number of bad games in a night rather than switch to survivor or start playing anything else. I don't enjoy long queue lengths and only want to play survivor moving forward. so anything that could impact that negatively for me I'm against, and I solo, and have had some awful experiences in lobbies with 3 man swf as a solo survivor since you're just bait to them or a place to try and leave the killer hoping you'll keep it busy for them or get camped so they can do gens. Some can be helpful because of the teamwork mindset and the tactics they're used to, and I've gotten out once in a while due to some to my surprise, but generally they either ignore me or try and use me as if I'm another perk or addon in their loadout. They are often the most selfish players and I always roll my eyes regardless of which side I happened to be on expecting a bad experience.
Dang that's rough. If you're on Xbox lemme know so you can at least have one on your side. I solo less and less for many of those reasons you list plus I'm teaching younglins.
As far as the Mori change I believe they simply sent it out when ready, not giving two craps whether the key changes were ready, which has tilted many by timing it like that. Maybe romorrow......

Bet even this thing gets better frames on Lery's than my Xbox

Been going on for over two years on Xbox. We're past bug and feature at this point. Almost a highlight these days

Boil Over is terrible, and a good killer will actually benefit from it by swaying with it. I'd take Soul Guard over it any day.

As far as I know there is no Cross Progression between PC and Xbox yet, using Steam or not.

There are certain killer builds absolutely dependant on getting a map on purpose. Removing map offerings would crush those builds completely.
Also I think wanting to alter map offerings is just a sign of imbalance on several of them, perceived or real.

I completely understand why SWFs were first introduced into the game, but after 4 years they are doing far more harm than good. SWFs make it unfun for killers, who are forced to run the same meta perks in order to have a remote chance against them (aka gen slowing perks, or survivor slowing perks). BHVR decided to nerf one hook moris because it was the easiest method for slowing down a team. Now killers are forced to either 3 gen, slug or camp in order to try and secure a 4k almost every game.
As a result of SWFs, que times for survivors are awful because the 80/20 balance isn't maintained. No one wants to continuously go against SWF teams which is why you will constantly get lower ranks as killer and que times are immediate because no one is playing killer at lower ranks anymore. This is creating a vacuum, and I feel as though it will only get worse. As I play survivor, I see matches where I'm solo que'd against a rank 13 or 14 killer because a 2 man SWF team decided to play with a rank 16.
As both a survivor and killer main, this is extremely frustrating because as a survivor, I'm wondering why my teammate is playing so poorly (not knowing they are new to the game) often times causing us to die because of a mistake that a veteran player could see coming. As a killer, it's frustrating because I always seem to go against the extremely optimized teams, all running BT, Unbreakable, DS and some exhaustion perk only to get gen rushed and depip because I couldn't move as fast as someone could speak on comms.
What I propose is this, either incentivize solo queing i.e. give more BP to solo folks after a match or simply place a debuff on SWF teams, 10% with 2 people, 15% with 3 and 20% with 4. Give killers the chance to slow down the game slightly enough where people no longer need to run the same 12 perks over and over again. If killers can start having more fun with the game rather than stress about each match, not only would new players come to dbd but veteran players I feel would return as well.
The devs have said the goal is two dead & two escape on average per match, across all ranks. Your personal goal as killer might be to get all 4 (perfectly reasonable btw) but overall they're looking for two.
Based on their history of changes, imo they resist doing anything that splits the playerbase, hurts queue times, or 'punishes' a side. So directly nurfing anyone in a SWF is unlikely either. Since more that half of all survs are in at least a two-man that's a lot of players to consider in all the ranks.
I believe we need to keep all of this in mind when making suggestions. To me the method that makes the most sense is to raise the info aspect of solos to something closer to SWF levels, and then balance killers around that. Exactly how to do that is very debatable.
Over the past few weeks I've been teaming up with friends who are quite new to the game and trying to teach them, mainly because the tutorials are ineffective and solo queue is a nightmare. My personal goal has been to get everyone else out, easier said than done just check out recent vods for that.
But it helps to remind me we have to consider all players and ranks together.
-
Rock & Roll Jesus here is just too tall and way way too loud to be rolled out every match. I'd want Iron Will on him at all times.
-
Such a change would basically squash her power, which is a hopefully annoying slowdown in gameplay.
Getting an actual kill with the traps is quite rare in my experience, mainly newer players I'd say. So many times the head trap is removed by first box searched, regardless of the skill checks being hit or not. Very fustrating when that occurs.
-
Latency. On the killer's screen he was much closer so it looks much more realistic from their pov.

When I reinstalled DbD for the twins patch all of my survivors/killers' builds and cosmetics were reset. Didn't lose anything, but I did have to re-equip everything. I wonder if it's related.
This happens to me if there's an update to DBD and I foolishly start it when my Xbox says "ready to start" but more of the update remains. It's a trap don't do it, unless you want to re-equip everything everywhere...

Nope.
Might save some frames depending on your hardware, but in return Survivors could be harder to spot since everything's smaller, and Great Skill Checks might feel harder too.
Dang. And as for Great Skill Checks we consolers rarely bother, as we have to press the button three days in advance due to our lovely frames!
Happy Holidays!!

Steve got whooped by Jonathan, Billy, and (verbally) a few times by Nancy. Might be counterbalanced by wins over Demo and random Russian grunt. But i think Ace will be paid to throw the brawl anyway.
However, way down in the language of the fight contract the winner gets some quality time with their choice of Felix or Jane (but not both, sadly), while the loser gets Nea and an item to be named later.

To make a keyboard work with the console, yes. For it to be able to be used to play DBD instead of with the controller, that is not enabled by the devs. I think I remember them saying it was an interface issue or something.

Disconnecting after ONE hit or ONE down is such garbage, as is disconnection in general.
I was playing a survivor and the other three had Disconnected literally seconds apart from each other leaving me with only 1 generator done and the killer throughly angry.
If you don't want to play the game. Don't play the game
Had something similar happen to me two weeks ago. Was Kate on a farm map, against Slinger. I do a gen and a raw bone while the obviously paired up Fengs are flashy screwing around with him. I watch as one Feng is brought down, he fakes the pick-up and smacks the flashlight out of the other's hand, and both insta dc. Within three seconds the David also dc's.
I just move to a hill, search the chest, and place that new flashy down there. Then I just move slowly back and forth on top of that hill until Slinger sees me. He moves off, finds the hatch & closes it, and I go to a door open it and leave, not seeing or hearing him again.
I got like 10k points I think, the Slinger less. Fun times.

They can’t change achievements on console versions but I wish that wouldn’t stop them
This is the reason. Apparently changing Achievements or Trophies is super difficult & time consuming on console. The devs are also loathe to change things only on one platform, not wishing to show favoritism of one over any other.
To be honest I think most of us would rather have them hitting the, umm... sizable bug colony as a priority.

What if we had two killers able to talk with each other like swf but add 2 survivors. So 2 vs 6? This would be an add on and optional add on. I think it would be fun. Getting kind of boring Lately.
So now we would need a map about twice the size of Red Forrest, with 4 doors, 3 hatches, and at least 17 gennies??

When I solo and the team manages to correctly do the clense NOED then BT unhook bodyblock out the door dance, oh yes the accusations fly.
It takes real effort for them to complain on Xbox, but once I point them towards the Vod and/or YT and see for themselves, they either disappear or back-track like a mofo.

I personally never use addons, items or offerings of any kind at all, but since the entire system of getting these items is based purely on RNG I feel like there should be some guaranteed option to get certain addons.
In this system, you could destroy items in order to gain components (1 per destroyed item) of a certain color quality. Once you have a certain amount of a component (Let's say 10), you can use it to craft a specific addon/offering of your choosing.
Secondly, you might have a system of upgrading only lower components to higher components. No downgrading component quality. (10 brown = 1 yellow, 10 yellow = 1 green etc.)
A limitation of this would be that you are unable to craft wards. Seeing how protecting a very powerful item or addon build shouldn't be encouraged.
This system isn't in place to replace the blood web as it is still the best and only place to get perks for the character and also random things pretty cheap. However, if you do get the worse end of the deal once in a while with blood web RNG, you can use several of the items you gained to get the item you want.
So many of my Piggy's add-ons are just poopy, and I'd love some method of turning most of them in for the 4 or 5 I might actually use. Even just getting back 10% bloodpoint value would be something, so I can have a healthy stack of Combat Straps going.
On the survivor side I have butt-loads of Flashlight and Key parts I'll never use as I don't run those items.

So I get a lot of people saying that you don't run into swf's that often and everyone knows that swf's are unfair, but the past 7 games in a row, over the span of 3 days, I went up against 4 man swf's. I don't know what to do, but ik there isn't much that I can do. Swf are a problem in this game, but by no means do I think this option should be taken away. I think what should be done is limit what they can bring. In all the matches I went up against, they brought items, such as flashlights and toolboxes, and some even brought map offerings. I think that swf's should not be allowed to bring items or map offerings as a swf is powerful enough on its own. It might be a stretch but I think they shouldn't be allowed to bring certain perks too, like ds and prove thy self. Survivors already abuse ds and swf's just take even more advantage. Now go up against a team with 4 ds. In addition swf's tend to bring toolboxes to gen rush and abuse communication to easily complete gens. Having prove thy self only helps their already good coordination. This is all just brainstorming and piecing together the issues I've encountered, but what are your thoughts? I'd like to hear others responses and thoughts as this is just my opinion I wanted to put out to further balance the game. I'd like to see some responses so that this can reflect the views of that of the DBD community.
From what I've noticed about changes the devs make they avoid ones that 'punish' players and/or can split the playerbase. I believe these are the reasons no major changes have been made to SWF.
Imo we are more likely to see smaller adjustments made over time that give solos more info & coordination possibilities, and then have killers altered around those changes. I can't see straight up 'nurfs' to SWF groups happening.

One longstanding debate that I have noticed is whether SWF should be completely removed or whether it should not be touched at all. Why not have a compromise between the two ideas? Perhaps a feature can be added to make SWF more fair to solo survivors and killers, while allowing those who want to team up to troll solo survivors, or to be more unbiased "those who want to play with their friends" to continue doing so. My feature suggestion is simple and easy to implement. I think that ONE of these features should be added.
Feature 1 - Revealing SWFs.
During a pre game lobby, all SWF players are highlighted. If there are two SWF teams, then two different highlight colors will be used. During the trial, the SWF players will instead have their icons (in the bottom left) highlighted. After the trial, the SWF players will have their names highlighted. I think this feature is fair because it does not remove the SWF feature, but also alerts solo survivors and killers of SWFs, allowing them to dodge to avoid having to play games with toxic players.
Feature 2 - Mori SWF
I think that SURVIVORS should be able to mori any SWF players by burning a common offering. SWF players who disconnect while a SWF mori is active will be permanently banned.
The devs have been consistently not making changes that would split the playerbase, hurt queue times, or 'punish' anyone.
Indicating a SWF group in the lobby would lead to all three imo. Pretty much no killer, including me, would willingly enter a SWF trial, and no amount of bloodpoints would likely change that. Since more than half of survs are at least in a two-man this would worsen queue times even more.
-
The game is free on Xbox with Game Pass and has been for months.
-
Sometime in the last year or so Bill was added to Xbox and his perks were relocked, which were in the general pool before that when Bill was PC-only.
I'm wondering if something around that is happening to you. Are his teachables unlocked for you on his bio page?

If proximity chat was put into Dead by Daylight I think that it would 1. Help survivors become more coordinated 2. Help killers locate survivors easier 3. Sort've nerf SWF. Currently one of the reasons that SWF is so annoying to go against is they know where you are at every waking moment and have discord calls so they can communicate without you knowing about it. By giving them a way to communicate that can also help you locate them it makes it harder for them to speak without being found and knowing about their plan. So if you play a stealth killer you can learn if they have spine chill because they might exclaim that they do, hear their plans about Wich gens they're going to work on, or help find out if there is anyone around if they start screaming.
So this in-game chat idea would replace the other means of communication? How would the devs enforce this? I don't know about the other platforms, but on Xbox the party chats are entirely separate from any game being played. Heck we can and often are playing different games in the same party. And I believe Microsoft mandated any game they accept cannot interfere with the party chats in any way.
How do you propose this idea be implemented?
-
Happy Holidays to all who walk in the fog! :)
-
Sounds like latency hits to me. I always asume the killer is two or three steps closer than they and their pokie sticks appear.
-
Perk combo: running both Q&Q and Lightweight together triggers the effect Tip Toe, which allows an additional 10% faster cooldown and scratchmarks dissapear two seconds sooner. I can see many perk combos like this idea to get some use out of lesser used perks, for both sides.

In that case..... Nothing to do I think
I don't necessarily agree with their approach to SWF lobbies, it's just what I believe they consider.
The only method I've seen tossed about on the forums that makes sense to me and fits their pattern is to raise the solo queue play to something approaching SWF levels of info, and then rebalance killers around that.
Exactly how to do all that is very debatable.
-
@Asqueado said:
Is really easy to fix SWF.
Just add an icon on survivor's name like a star or whatever in the lobby to Mark the killer that they are premade, if they are 2 premades of 2 players, Well, 2 different icons.
When Killers join the Lobby, they can see if enemie team is SoloQ players or premades and they can choose to stay or leave that lobby.
If they have the option to play with voice, Killers should have the option to choose if they want to play on disadvantage or not.
This could be a problem for SWF queue times? Yes, but if you want to play that way, the consequences are those, long queue times Cuz not all the Killers wants to play against them.
See? Super easy
Based their decisions over the last few years, I'd say the devs will not make any change that will split the playerbase, punish anyone, or hurt queue times, and this would do all three.
We need suggestions that keep all of that in mind.

It’s usually when playing a certain killer or map for me. The Doctor, Blight, Pyramid Head, Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Oni, Demogorgon and Nightmare are usually killers that tend to not play out the best (30 fps, and drop more as the match goes on).
Maps like Haddonfield, Hawkins and Lery’s are awful for both sides, especially killer. But you know, this is “Normal” according to the devs, as they don’t care nor listen to the community.
