we all know survs times are bad. I think it’s time for a new game mode Killer with friend, with 2 killers and 7 survs. This way they reduce the number of survs needed in a match per killer, and also many people will come to play killer with their friend.

i know they have to make changes, perhaps 12 gens, 8 need to be done (to avoid 3 gen stat with 2 killers), 8 totems. Also when only 3 survs are alive 1 killer must be removed from the game, or better, they can switch as twins.

this also avoid face campers, because no killer will let 6 survs doing gens.

probably they would need to change perks but they can check it in ptb without perks.

Just imagine a console trying to run all these moving parts at the same time, even the new ones. Entity have mercy on our Switch cousins if this is added.

Also maps would have to be made ginormous to fit all that.

  • The easiest solution you can do is play some rounds as killer. You get more bloodpoints anyway, and BBQ makes it even more should you have it unlocked. This also helps with the shortage of killers right now.

If you want to only play survivor, then yeah Crossplay being on should help, but I've had slightly better queue times playing much earlier in the day than I usually do. I suppose it depends on your zone/location and the habits of players around you.

I'm 100% certain that I'm not the only player that wants the feature back. My reasoning for wanting it back may be different from others, but that doesn't take away from the point of this idea. It's really annoying having to back out a lobby to switch killers and sit through queue again. I see a group of survivors I want to play, but not with the killer I have equipped, so I either back out the lobby and lose the chance to play against those survivors, or I play them with the killer I have equipped and get made a fool of because it's not the killer I want to play against them with. I just had an experience where I went against a 2 stack swf (both had DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Soul Guard, one key and one toolbox or flashlight, they both also used Coldwind offerings) and I was playing Bubba (still fairly new with him), I knew it was a swf and wanted to play them, but I knew I wouldn't see them if I backed out the lobby to switch killers. If I was playing any of the killers I actually play with, (such as Billy, Nurse, or Hag) then the game would've been a different story. They got out, tbagged, and were being highly toxic in endgame chat, and all of that could've been avoided if I had the ability to switch killers like back then. Feel free to leave a comment on your thoughts about this and if it would be a good fix or not. Also, REMOVE MAP OFFERINGS, either remove them for survivor completely (except Sacrificial Ward) or remove them from the game completely, the fact that one side can choose what map they go to against the other side is completely ridiculous, add a swf on top of that and you might as well dc, but that's just my thoughts.

The killer lock in lobby is due to MMR, whenever it returns, so I doubt it is gunna be reverted. Issues with map offerings i would say more indicate imbalances on several of them rather than the offerings.

As far as removing map offerings altogether that would render some killer builds pretty much useless, like trying Spoopy Myers outside.

  • Maybe give it four tokens instead of three, or regain them pebble-style.

  • Disrespectful behavior from a sister Piggy. Sorry about that. I leave no doubt whether I'm accepting boops or not, and don't screw around like that besides.

As a much less important side note, such a gross waste of awesome add-ons.

  • More baby steps shifting the main game towards the mobile version?

  • The devs have stated they cannot differentiate between an actual intentional disconnect or a network failure/lagging out/game crash type. The matchmaking penalty treats them all as the same.

  • Consolers: da foook is Discord?

  • I do my rank 14 Piggy part, but have you ever played killer on an Xbox1?

    Try it some time

People talk about how the game is riddled with bugs and glitches, and I've seen maybe 2 or 3 since 2016. They honestly dont seem that common. And the people talking about framerates I dont understand either cause I dont have a problem with that. Xbox one player.

If you are also on Xbox1 and haven't had frame drops for years count yourself lucky af.

They are most noticeable as killer or on the indoor maps for me and many others. The game stuttering whenever Exposed is triggered, Sloppy applied, Bloodlust activating, Exhausted popping, and many many more. Even the menus and bloodwebs hickup badly.

You have been blessed I'd say!

now you can't exploit your way through the game

This bug wasn't anything gamebreaking but rather an accessibilty feature that we should already have

use your keybinds if you don't like holding m1

People always forget about console players :(

Yup. From reading this thread most if this can't be done on console just PC stuff.

Do people forget that PS5 and XBox Series are consoles too?! Game runs great on these systems.

I think they mean Switch, PS4, and Xbox1 mainly. With avalibility in the new ones poor and other reasons most are still on the older machines, like me.

Still waiting for that steady 60 frames too...

  • @Yords said:

Yes, I do know that he was finally given the buff we all have been waiting for. However, he still has no power in the average chase and could still use a purple windstorm base kit. I think the Clown got a good buff, but he still seems pretty weak. Same for Wraith. I wanted to write this post because I find myself enjoying Wraith these days.

Having windstorm be base kit for the Wraith (purple; gives a 25% increase in speed while cloaked) is phenomenal and has a huge impact on the match. This would

What he has right now in his base kit (including the true invisibility from the PTB) is an increase in movement speed when cloaked by 11% (from 115% to 126%). It takes 3 seconds to uncloak and 1 second to cloak. For one second when fully uncloaking, the Wraith gains a small burst of speed for one second. When the Wraith is 24 meters close to a survivor, that survivor will start to see the Wraith the closer he gets. Beyond that range, survivors are unable to see the Wraith.

What I mean by rework is adding something to his power that will give him leverage over survivors. The thing is that this is really hard to do, but I do believe it is possible to give Wraith a change that will not put him at A tier, but mid to high tier.

The idea I have is mainly focused on giving the Wraith another ability besides cloaking.

The one and only concept I can think of that would make sense is to allow the Wraith to use his bell to place some sort of effect on survivors that would help him in a chase. This is literally my only idea that makes sense with him, so if you have another idea please go ahead and write it down in the comments.

This passive effect or effect could take place and start to build up over the trial as the Wraith hits his bell.

So the question is for my idea, what effect could this be?

Imagine an add-on that torches up his bell, blinding nearby survs when he decloaks. Payback from years of Flashlight damage.

Or an add-on that charges his bell, allowing him to OverPop a gen with, well OverPop goodness. Say 35% regression and the skill check.

Or my Piggy's traps gain a harsh penalty to repair speed, healing, whatever. Or Trapper's hurt movement speed for like 20 sec.

Things like this, stronger effects tailored for each killer, are I think decent ways to help weaker killers.

  • @David_Leon said:

Also T-Baggers at the exit gates should activate the exposed status on them.

Please we need some realism in this game. If the survivors want to have fun luring the killer, then this could be a nice way to start balancing things if DS/Keys won't be nerfed ❤️.

Can a killer's weapon break from repeatedly hitting a hooked surv?

  • @PeaceNGrease said:

I don't think he plays well on console at all. I think you need a a full 60 fps to play him properly. But I think he's a strong A tier

This. On console cannot turn quick enough, flicks are unheard of, and frame drops rob Blight of even more hits than most other killers.

    *laughs in PS4*

And even on PC how often do people tell you their builds? I've played on PC more than a couple of times and I'm usually the only one that says ANYTHING in the pregame chat.

I wonder if *laughs in PS4* sounds anything like *giggles in Xbox* ?

  • @Trashmaster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1868373#Comment_1868373

Well that's basically what the pregame lobby is for. You go and mention things like your key is actually broken, you have deliverance and want to use it and so on...also even with its range doubled open handed is only going to be in very specific builds

And for console, with no chat?

  • I play on Xbox and to be fair, I get why it is PC only. First off the game was released for PC then ported a few years later to console, so they were used to going through Steam.

Then they discovered it takes sometimes a week or more to get updates approved through Sony/Microsoft while Steam is a couple days at best. This means a turnaround after a PTB would be either just over a week, or maybe a month in length.

I'm sure there's other concerns as well, but the biggy is time. And some of us already give the devs crap for "moving too slowly" but including console somehow in a PTB just isn't practical atm.

  • We lowly consolers always get the short end of the joystick huh?

My PC is a budget build with a 960 GTX 4GB graphics card. This card can handle GTA V on very high settings at a stable 60 frames per second @1080p resolution but I get frame drops playing DBD on low graphics. This game really needs an optimization pass on both consoles and PC.

Absolutely. I feel the worst for our Switch cousins

  • @Ryuzaki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1866493#Comment_1866493

So much for optimization on previous gen and low-end PCs...

This. Many of us are still on the Xbox1 or PS4 and will likely be for a while to come, whether the new gen consoles become more available or not.

Still waiting for that promised 60 frames from like March 2019.....

What maps make you go full-on bananas when you see yourself there playing any or a specific Killer? Heck, while we are at it, let's also ask the survivors what maps make you mad?

For me, it is pretty much any map that can be considered the size of a football stadium. Any map that forces you to forget about pressuring gens and just focusing on tunneling if you dream of even having the slightest chance at winning. Unless you are Demigorgon or Hillbilly who can travel across the map within seconds, there is nothing you can do in these maps but hope that the survivors don't know what they are doing.

Lery's. This map needs to quietly crawl into a bush somewhere and die. Hate it for either role. Looks beautiful, but frames are arse for my Xbox.

I have a fantastic idea for long term players.

How about you can take a level 50 character, and reset it to level 1. This will wipe all of that character's progression but give you a new cosmetic of that character's base skin, but with a bloodied texture to show your Veteran status!

You could do this three times, once per slot of the skin, until you eventually get all three pieces.

And on the second run-through of the bloodweb, we'll improve the items that appear slightly.

I'm still working on the name for this system.

Complete and utter sarcasm with a splish-splash of sass. Well done!

  • It took me 117 bloodwebs with level 50 Zarina to get her Distortion II and III, and I still don't have all perks on her yet.

Morals of the story: the grind is quite real & we have a complete ass-ton of perks!

  • Reasonable change I'd say. It should be rolled into a pass on her poopy add-ons, many of which encourage the gameplay described here, or outright hurt her.

  • @REL1_C said:

Wouldn't it be cool if the swf filter was removed and the solos would have a voice chat option, for example. Solos would get into a chat to form a with swf but It would only last that game, so next game you get new survivors. Still be strong but it's a random swf with random perks.

So no one can play with their friends with this suggestion? Before SWF friends would constantly lobby dodge until they all got in the same lobby. Imagine what returning to that would do to queue times now for survivors.

    @thesuicidefox said:

Impose limits on SWF. For example, any size SWF can only have 1 instance of a perk. Therefore only 1 DS, 1 UB, 1 Dead Hard, etc. If you solo this wouldn't effect you. What this does is encourage team builds over everyone just running the best meta.

IMO you guys should try playing in a DBD tournament or at least watching one. If you did you'd learn that at the highest level, SWF is completely overpowered. Bringing solo survivors up to that point is literal insanity and would kill the game. It makes a hell of a lot more sense to bring down SWF to solos wherever possible. A top tier SWF with no perks will still steamroll nearly anything you can throw at them. Nurse and Spirit are the only ones that might stand a chance, and only if they run very oppressive builds (and no I don't mean Undying/Ruin because that is worthless against a SWF that just does all the totems in the first minute of the game). Yet in the normal game, these teams will actually be running full meta, which makes them even more overpowered. Yes, imposing a perk limit won't be the end all fix, but those are the kinds of things that need to be done to balance the game.

Anyone that says "buff solo to SWF then balance the game" is delusional. You won't be able to balance the game at this point, survivors already have the advantage, however slight, and in a SWF it's much bigger. You're saying you want a totally busted game? You want a game where every game is like the hardest SWF you ever played? You're ######### crazy.

Nerf SWF, but do it in a way that doesn't make people hate the game. Besides the 1 instance of a perk rule, maybe also you can't be the same survivor. Maybe also your offerings become more limited (eg. no map offerings). Maybe your luck greatly decreases in a SWF (or rather the chance of finding good items is decreased so no more keys or maps). Stuff that doesn't directly impact gameplay (so nothing like less time on a hook) just stuff that evens the playing field a bit.

From their history of changes the devs seem determined not to split the playerbase, hurt queue times, or "punish" anyone. Also a killer paying attention will know "all I have to do is eat one DS and then tunnel them all" or how about "well he got up on his own, the UB is gone slug everyone at 5 gens" or two brand new players with only Dwight with semi-decent perks cannot even queue together?

  • A public listing of the best survs and finest teams?

    So, a killer dodge list?

Hmm, for me, the pregame chat works nicely, a lot of times. Sometimes not, thats true.

    And for console?

  • @Moxie said:

    Just wondering.

    I thought BT was anti-camping, while DS was anti-momentum with a splish-splash of anti-tunneling

  • @bm33 said:

It's been an issue for awhile. There's a bunch of triggers in the game for fps drops on console and low end pcs. This post from the summer has lists of a bunch for both sides: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187573/console-optimization/p1.

When they removed bloodlust for a weekend many of the console killers loved it because it removed a trigger that consistently screws them over.

    @Kadajacs said:

I have been finding that whenever I am chasing a survivor and I get bloodlust the game will temporarily freeze. It is only for a second or so but as we all know every fraction of a seconds counts in a chase.

I can't count the amount of chases that this has lost me. Is anyone else experiencing this. It is kinda annoying that something meant to help in chases is actually causing me to lose them.

And no it is not my internet connection. I have very good connection normally and only get this type of lag when bloodlust activates. It is also consistently only when bloodlust starts so cannot be coincidence

Yes this has been an issue on console for years.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Another thing that would help is if survivors would actually learn how to play the game and not make silly mistakes all the time. That alone would fix most problems.

Isn't there a possibility to plug in a headset inside your TV. Back in school, one of my school colleagues played PS3 with a headset.

And yeah, you can also use BBQ and Sloppy. Healing against a strong Killer is a necessity and Sloppy makes a good slowdown Perk in that case.

Y'all PC players might be overestimating the rigs and setup alot of us consolers use, such as being 12+ feet from the TV on a couch with the speakers full blast trying to hear terror radius direction. Things like that. Might be why consolers on average are a bit more casual playstyle?

And yes I do sometimes play DBD with a very nice headset, but when I team up my friends they are often more of the couch dweller variety.

  • @gatsby said:

To me, its always really obvious when a Survivor knows my Killer's weaknesses and how to exploit them. Like not the type of things you could learn from a guide, the things you'd have to play the Killer to know.

    Anyone else?

Since I run Piggy from time to time I usually do very well against her, instantly figuring out her build and their playstyle with her. Def advantage

Nah PC. Didn't think about console. But there is a good replacement for console.

Spirit with Mother Daughter Ring/Yakuyoke Amulet

    • Ruin
    • Undying
    • Stridor
    • Sloppy/BBQ

Evil build! But Strider prolly only works with headsets not tv speakers. How about both Sloppy and BBQ instead?

  • @MrDardon said:

    1. Master Nurse

    2. Play Nurse every Match

    3. Use Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, BBQ or in the new case Devour, Undying, Pop, BBQ

    4. Use Kavangha's Last Breath and Fragile Wheeze every Match (her best Add-On combo)

    5. Wet yourself by how good you are.

Pretty sure this won't work on console. Have you played Xbox Nurse?

I played on switch, and good lord what a miserable experience. A Claudette spin me around the corn for about 30 seconds before i could land a hit. Turn is too slow, FPS is horrendous... not for me

Yeah i feel for our Switch cousins

  • @Nosferatu3145 said:

Don't do that, if you play killer you will regret till the end of times. It's absolutelly horrible to play with a controller

I wish more PC killers would borrow a friend's PS4 or whatever and see what being a Console Killer is all about. Pretty please, with Cherry flavored Afterpiece on top. Please!

  • Nurse, Blight, Huntress, Slinger, and Oni will require a butt ton of practice and trying to do flicks with them are near impossible to pull off. If being spun becomes annoying I usually take a step back then swing, often works.

As others have said, frame drops can lead to many misses, so I recommend restarting the game every 3-4 matches or so to bandaid it. These drops can occur whenever a status effect triggers (applying Sloppy, Myers teiring up, Exposed popping, a gen popping nearby, Lithe triggering, Bloodlust triggering, so many more).

Oh and I should say something about the indoor maps............

............................ yeah effff all of the indoor maps.

So as the title says I'm transferring to playing dbd on pc as I've been playing on my Xbox one for the past two years and I was wondering if there is a way I can transfer all my progress and everything else as I've obviously used time and money getting all the killers grinding for things I need and I'm obviously concerned to see if I can transfer my progress so please respond and let me know. ^^

Not at present no there is no Cross Progression between Xbox and PC. The devs know it is wanted (PlayStation as well) but there's behind the scenes stuff in the way apparently.

So for now you'd have to rebuy everything and grind from scratch, sadly.

  • I think the goal of this admittedly outdated system was to encourage the playing of both roles, which sadly doesnt happen often enough imo.

I believe the devs themselves haven't been happy with it, and plan changes down the road priority wise.

  • I'd like a Mountain Dew good sir and/or madam, and keep em coming. Cold af please.
