A workaround is to ALT+ENTER to go into windowed mode and you will be able to use your mouse on the nvidia filters then ALT+ENTER when you are done to go back into fullscreen mode.

Micro-stutters are more prevalent as of late on PC. Also, textures take really long to load in.

Just to further explain why it is because I understand not everyone here has a job in server management, it goes like this. If the gamestate bugs out on the server whatever data you receive that was in reply to the bugged whatever, than it will bug you out. This wasn't a problem with the game itself, just a server issue. Which is why it is classified as a network issue.
As an example, say you go to hook someone you freeze as you put them on the hook, that survivor more than likely freezes himself as well. Some interaction that happened the server bugged and you had to wait for the packets where the issue was already resolved internally on the servers gamestate. In other words, there was some interaction that made the server hang-up. And again, this would be deemed a network issue.
If the optimization issues are related to networking then why hasn't anything been done to address this since 2019?

maybe it's a windows update? i know there is a optional preview available right now, which i have chose not to install, and my performance with 5.2.0 has improved.
It could well be that. I am very cautious when it comes to optional updates and every few months I reinstall windows

I tried out DBD on my friends PS5 for the first time last night. I played survivor on Lery's which I thought was a good test for performance. I was surprised that the game ran smoother than my PC as of the latest patch and it looked really pretty at 4K with HDR enabled.
I'm not sure what has changed with the latest patch but myself and many other people who play on PC are experiencing performance issues. It's good to know that the PS5 version of DBD seems to be performing well.

Didn't Plague release in March of 2019? I remember they heavily downgraded console graphics when they released her and it seems like a lot of people said the game was a lot smoother at that time. I could be completely wrong, though.
I remember this patch, it improved performance very slightly but it was short lived.

I'm sure BHVR have seen the amount of console players who have quit over the past 2 months due to poor performance amongst their "stats". I hope this is a wake up call for them to improve performance across all platforms.

Hey all, I made a post in the optimization section which I thought would be worth sharing here; I hope it helps!
"In the name of science and to help out console players, I have tested DBD as survivor on the PS4 "slim" model with a SDD both internally and externally (USB 3.0 to SATA adapter); I did not experience any freezes with either. I encountered the usual FPS drops when status effects were applied and when survivors got hooked. I have to say the FPS on console is pretty rough, it seems to run at around 30 FPS(?) and it feels worse because I play the game on PC at 60 FPS."

1. Postponed the event, or extended it, because the fix won't be until after the event is over. The event is just a copy paste of last year's with low af effort anyways, but I digress.

DBD is not a demanding game and it should have no problem running on low-end PCs and consoles. BHVR need to deliver on their promise and optimize the game, plain and simple.

Ha I wish anything was confirmed, the SSD fix is a real thing for the issue for a lot of people on PC and the client stuttering in such a way definitely makes it seem correct, hell I can hear my PS4 HDD no other game is making it sound that way.
They also are in no position to abandon last gen with this issue for so long simply because it will be at least another year before they become the current gen, if they did try it would eventually be removed from the ps store for being a broken product.
They have to fix it basically and I'm sure they will they just need to work on their communication and transparency rather than shafting us because they don't want it to look bad on their Capcom release and their 5 year Anniversary event.
Tl;dr: All we have is theory while they refuse to open with us
I installed a Samsung EVO 850 SSD in my PS4 slim which very slightly improved performance on DBD. The problem with old gen consoles is that they are held back by the SATA II interface so you will never get the full benefit of a SATA III SSD.
