  • I've always liked the idea of a visual counter that resembles the DBD scratchmarks logo, with remaining totems still burning on it. I'd locate it in the basement, so any curious surv could pay a visit and see for themselves.

Play with your friends. I don’t care about that.

But maybe play the game as intended once in a while instead of with information bloat.

My dear friendly neighborhood clown! What the efff happened last match to you to make such an outburst in a post like this? From what I have read of your threads your are passonate but mostly reasonable.

Who must I go smite kind clown, and they will be smoten...

  • I used to detest killers who ran NOED, until I learned like so many other complained-about aspects of the game it is the surv team's fault it even comes into play.

  • His reveal mechanic is unreliable and has been so since he came out. And as has been pointed out, he also gets revealed in some of the most bs and unreal ways. It does indeed go both ways.

  • @Skullgrind said:

SWF is cheating as it is not playing the game as intended or designed. That's it. You can just admit you like cheating its ok

The devs said SWF was intended for launch but was not ready, and was added once it was. As far as comms go, they have a discord just for people to meet up and play the game, thus encouraging SWF.

  • 70+ since the patch after Blight came out. NA east, Xbox

  • All reworked maps but especially the indoor maps, with Lery's by far the biggest offender. That map sends frames into the teens depending on what is happening, in both roles. Xbox1

Interesting an Intoxicated effect. Maybe sway like a killer dealing with Boil Over, vision blurs in and out, bright lights make it worse, and skill checks oh Entity save you if you're trying to hit skill checks...

Lag is still the elephant in the room, it decides if a game will be fun or a painful unfair experience. When a game is lagging hard (survivors have to wait an extra second for every prompt and then another second for every action) what does it look like to the killer?

For instance on my screen I see killers get impossible hits, around corners, through pallets, survivor vaults and is running and the killer swings from 5m away and takes them down, you try to heal someone and get no prompt, you wait a second start to heal them and it stops, you heal someone 100% walk away and they go back to being 90% healed, you hit a great skill check on screen but the gen registers it as a miss and blows, you are running and suddenly you are somewhere else on the map, you just get stuck and can't move, etc. There are hundreds of little lag glitches. Does a killer's screen show a regular game or can they tell it is fubar'd?

What you describe is a combo of lag and latency mixed together. Usually hits look legit from the killer's perspective, but yeah I blurt out "that actually hit them?" far too often.

Don't punish player for playing with their friends. Punish them for using comms.

How could they "punish" comms at all? And I'm pretty sure they aren't interested in punishing anyone anyway.

    How would console tell?

Just crashed dbd game. Started it again and what i see is ''matchmaking locked'' , saying temporary banned from matchmaking. It doesnt feel right kinda.. because its not my fault when the game crashes and giving temporary bans for that is not right times 2 :/

To fight against those who dc on purpos there should be implemented something different i gues, like ''flag'' those players and after some count ''dc's '' just ban them for a day or so ...

Their system cannot tell the difference between an actual intentional disconnect and game crashes/connection issues, so it treats them all the same for penalty purposes.

  • @mrviirux said:

I'd say the system on DBD can't recongise if you DC or crash.

It takes it you just DC'd from the game and you get locked out.

But like you said you hate players who dc, so if thats the case your temp ban will only be 5minutes which is not very long to wait.

If they changed it to a full day, when then people like you whos game crashed would be serving full 24 hour temp ban which would then give you cause to be annoyed about it.

Their penalty system is very fair to be honest.

I’m on PS5, so everything stays locked at a constant 60fps.

I despise Lery's for that reason alone.

Good luck using Feral Frenzy (which drops FPS) on a map that already only gets 15.

Yup frames there are the drizzlin shytz

    Oh......

  • @Pulsar said:

    Depends.

    Console life.

  • @sulaiman said:

Yet, my premise was that they seperate the queues and then balance each seperatly.

You claimed that even under that circumstances swf would not find killers, and i want to know why.

While the things you said are true, they are no answer to my question.

This would mean playing killer would be different in those separate queues. In the SWF queue they'd likely be faster, use an additional perk, attack more quickly, special attack lasts longer (depending on power) or whatever buffs are applied to balance. So each player would have to relearn their killer while in that queue. The devs have already said they won't consider debuffing survs with things like longer repair times or limiting perks, so only the killer gameplay would be changed.

No bloodpoint bonus or whatever imo is worth this.

Not to split hairs here but @OniWantsYourMacaroni

Aiming to do something isnt the same as promising. That being said I dont own a Playstation 4 nor Xbox One.

The point is this goal of a steady 60 fps for all platforms has not been met, nor has there been direct word since about if let alone when.

Makes those on console seem forgotten, and those on the older PS4 and Xbox1 feel very much left behind. My heart goes out to our Switch cousins they got it the worst.

From what i read here, those on PC with lower end rigs that do meet the min requirements suffer much the same way. And the really infuriating thing is it's only DBD that the consoles have such a hard time running well, with much more demanding games far better optimized.

Actually I think trapper and Amanda would be the ultimate team can see Evan putting down his traps but Amanda laughing and making them better. It's a funny idea I've had for while.

I think they would enjoy each others work. Actually been thinking its probably the only true teachable perk law that happens. Where they exchange perks willing with out force.

The two would learn from each other well. But Amanda would laugh at his bear trap and pull out her own.

You call that a bear trap I think not lol look at this!

And then Trapper Boi would point out it still takes several tries to get out of his traps, while survs always seem to get hers off first try...

Can you explain why you wouldnt go against an swf if the match was balanced, and your chances of winning were the same than vs solo queue?

Right now it is unbalanced, everyone knows this, but I'm convinced they will not separate the queues. Exactly how to achieve this balance is the hot hot debate.

Because you think of us and they. I am a survivor main, and i oppose the undying-change, i understand that freddy gets a nerf but hope it is not too much, and i think noed is fine. It dosnt reward bad killer plays, it punished bad survivor plays.

So, am i one of the survivors you talk about, or not? Well, i give you another answer to your question: What i want for killers is the same that i want for survivors: a fair match. (hint: wont happen for both sides until swf and solo survivors get sepereate queues).

Doubt they'd ever make separate queues for solo, as every move the devs make is with not splitting the playerbase up & not punishing anyone always in mind. Besides SWF would never get a match, no matter what bribery is used to induce killers to do so, myself included.

Do you understand how over powered every survivor will be if comms was in this game?

Having a few matches against SWF with comms every few matches is ok but not every single match using comms is not what this game needs. How many killers do you think will stop playing killer side if comms was permanently put in this game on console?

We don't need survivors buffing anymore than what they already are right now. survivors needs nerfing.

Pretty sure they mean that chat box PC has, and not voice chat.

    Context:

Earlier today, while I was playing some dbd, I decided to practice Nurse. I got Shelter Woods with a Felix, Claudette, and two Zarina's. To know ones surprise, I got absolutely destroyed. When the final gen got done, I opened the gate and sat in the basement waiting for them to leave.

After the match was over, I got a message from someone named "bone loves u". They said "Yikes man." At first I though they were going to rub it in my face that they won, or be toxic just like every other survivor that messages me. But no, they were chill, and explained that they were one of the Zarinas that I barely chased, and that he wasn't trying to be toxic.

We proceeded to talk about various dbd related things, like how solo queueing sucks, the match making in this game also sucks, how doctor is annoying to play against, and how survivors are very toxic.

Overall, this guy was very funny and chill, and I had a lot of the laughs from the things he had to say about the game.

I don't know if you're on these forums or not, but thank you bone loves u, for making my evening.

Ahhh the rare pleasant player interactions that we desperately are in more need of.

Entity bless their pixel soul! :)

I took a break during tome 2, now that I'm back I'm going back and finishing those challenges.

EVERY TIME I finish a challenge, and want to select a new one, the archives page defaults to the "current tome" (which isn't even current any more) and I have to go into the compendium, pick the tome I want, THEN collect my reward or select a new challenge.

All I want is for it to default to opening the last tome you interacted with so I don't need to go through 2 extra menus for every challenge. The entire design of keeping old tomes is to be able to go back and finish them, so why make it so cumbersome?

I also agree with this. I have many challenges in all of the tomes yet to do, and would love for the game to leave me in the last tome I was in.

DO NOT LOOP OR CHASE A KILLER NEAR HOOKED SURVIVORS. Its alot harder for them to make it out safely and I ended up getting my team killed too often.

As killer, how utterly enjoyable to it to yoink a surv off what they were doing. Teaches them head-on-a-swivel and bring extra underwear!

Every game you play there will be disadvantages when playing on a console. I mean just look at any shooter. If you don't want disadvantages then don't get a console.

Then why should consolers support Crossplay at all? What happened to a level playing field, with everyone all playing the same game?

And any on console wanting to go over to PC would have to rebuy everything and grind again from scratch, because there's no Cross Progression and it is unlikely to happen.

You make it sound like we were totally screwed the moment we got this game on a console, instead of all of us in this together.

It usually happens when too much is happening on screen. It just freezes at the worst moment and boom, I'm sent back to xbox home. Getting kinda annoying. It just happened on my first game ever as ghost face. The gens powered up, I turn my screen and boom. Game crashed.

I play on Xbox1 and to help avoid this I hard restart my console about every 3-5 matches. I do it to bandaid connection issues and restore fps drops a little bit, but it should help with crashes as well.

Power cycling your router/modem each day may help also. Good luck fellow consoler!

    I really hate this perk.

    I hate it a lot.

    I don’t care about DS.

    I don’t care about Unbreakable.

But Head On needs to be deleted because of the absurd, disgusting ways SWF on comms can abuse the ######### hell out it.

You truly can’t understand how abysmal it is to deal with a constant barrage of coordinated Head On stuns until you come across a team doing this to you yourself.

    Every chase? Interrupted.

Every down and pick up? Saved by a Head On stun.

“oH bUt aT LeAsT tHeY’Re NoT dOiNg GeNs!” It doesn’t matter. If every chase takes an absurdly long time, and so many hooks are denied, then the survivors can take as long they please to do the damn gens.

Unless fortunate enough to down someone in an open area, Head On is infuriating.

The big problem with this perk in a SWF is that there’s no reasonable way for a killer to work around the perk during a chase or when picking someone up. Lockers are far far too numerous on some maps for a killer to be reasonably making sure to keep a good distance from EVERY locker during a chase.

And those god damn lockers at the foot of the basement. Jesus please, they need to go!!!

Anyway, rant over. Delete Head On so it can’t be abused by SWF anymore.

Dude I got pinballed in that absurd row of like 9 lockers on Red Forest many many months ago. Cheeky Nea takes a hit and I foolishly follow her into that area, and take three Head-Ons in a row.

I rarely see or get hit with Head-On, mainly because I'm a bad killer around rank 13. But that experience that day might have inspired a post like this if I was on the Forum then.

Lol I thought about that but it would have to injure a survivor that ran through it, which seemed too harsh. Oooh, maybe a flashbang though!

Or trap a locker, and if the killer checks it while empty they are blinded by a party starter for a few seconds.

  • Swiss Army Knife:

2-4-6-8 charges depending on rarity, no add-ons.

Charges on it can be spent on increased repair speed, sabotage speed, and/or opening the gate speed. If it has all of it's charges and it's holder is slugged for more than 60sec, Cut Artery option becomes available.

Basically depletes like a flashlight does with use. All numbers made up just now and not thought out in the least, so adjust as needed.

    ~~Trip wire kit~~

Appearance: A small to medium duffle bag

Base properties: Survivors can use the item button for 6 seconds to lay the beginning and ending points of a hard to see trip wire. When the killer walks through the wire, their aura is revealed to the survivor who laid the wire and both the killer and survivor hear a jingle audio cue. Laying a trip wire uses a charge from the kit.

    ~Rarities~

-Brown rarity: 1 charge, reveals the killers aura for 2 seconds, max wire length of 4 meters

-Yellow rarity: 1 charge, reveals the killers aura for 3 seconds, max wire length of 6 meters

-Green rarity: 2 charges, reveals the killers aura for 4 seconds, max wire length of 6 meters

-Purple rarity: 4 charges, reveals the killers aura for 5 seconds, max wire length of 8 meters

-Red rarity: 4 charges, reveals the killers aura to ALL survivors for 5 seconds, max wire length of 8 meters

    ~Add ons~

    -Brown add ons-

-Bit of wire: adds 1 meter to the max wire length

-Shoddy gloves: reduces the time to place a post by .5 seconds

-Bag of tin cans: increases the amount of time the killer is revealed by 1 second

    -Yellow add ons-

-Mountaineer gloves: reduces the time it takes to place a post by 1 second

-Bag of glass bottles: increases the time that the killers aura is revealed by 2 seconds

-Sack of wire: increases the max wire length by 2 meters

    -Side bag: adds 1 charge

    -Green add ons-

-Large wire coil: increases the max wire length by 3 meters

-Snare setters gloves: reduces the time it takes to place a post by 1.5 seconds

    -Bag organizer: adds 2 charges

-Tangle of bells: increases the time that the killers aura is revealed by 3 seconds

    -Purple add ons-

-Stimulant balloon: survivors are also able to trigger the trip wire. Removes the audio cue when the killer triggers the trap. If the killer or a survivor triggers the trip wire, they gain 10% haste for 8 seconds

-High strength wire: the trip wire can now be triggered twice before breaking. Removes 1 charge (minimum of 1)

    -Red add on-

-Razor wire: survivors are also able to trigger the trip wire. Survivors that trigger the trip wire are hindered by 10% for 5 seconds. If the killer triggers the trip wire, they are stunned for 2 seconds.

Before i read the razor wire part I was kinda hoping to see it set off a Claymore mine or something equally outrageous...

And about hit validation, 2 things :

    • why aren't the high pingers (>60ms) kicked from the lobby ?
    • why does the killer still have the priority for the hits ?

Dedicated server = better ping and consistency for everyone = hits 100% server sided as in every other games, so why is it not the case with DbD ?

    Less than 60ms gets kicked??

70-90 is normal for Xbox1 and PS4, and I imagine Switch and anyone using Wi-Fi are even higher. No one would get a match ever.

Have you ever played killer on console? Please please please borrow a friend's PS4 or whatever and try it out.

  • This is on the survs. When the match starts, your team should be separated to do four gens, not bunched up like a buffet line.

  • Most agree solo is in need of the most loving, but there seems to be no agreement as to how to best help.

Some want debuffs applied to SWF, like penalties and perk restrictions (looking at you Object and DS) to balance things some and lessen the potential coordination. There is also a few who either want SWF in a separate queue or still insist the ability to SWF at all be abolished. Since the devs heavily resist splitting the playerbase or punishing anyone I doubt any option i gave here is ever adopted.

Others seek to give solos more info and ability to coordinate with each other more, like Kindred and/or Bond or Empathy made basekit, totem counters, and what OP suggests a voice option. These would require buffing killers moderately if chosen.

Imo voice is the way to go, as it is more likely to be acceptable to the devs than any other method, be it a party chat or by proximity. If just proximity I have no idea how they could enforce it at all though (they couldn't on Xbox for instance).

So a global chat is the choice left I'd say. The problem of non-English speakers is very real as others have pointed out.

Oh yes. I've been teaming with brand newbie friends showing them the ropes, and with everyone rank 18-20 except me I do what I can to get them out. If the killer is particularly new I am that one kill they get at the end. Only fair.

other games share stats within the game with other platforms so I dont know where you're getting that info

I think it is rooted in how these devs have interacted with the consoles imo. To me moves with them seems to be an afterthought, with exactly how to do something with or through Sony and Microsoft (maybe Nintendo too) not fully planned out. They seem very comfortable with Steam and very awkward with the rest Toss in their tendancy to not really make changes with just one platform only in mind as well.

Also the devs have an unfortunate habit of not putting out lots of data very often anyways.

  • @wildcardyo said:

Infinite name changes is bad for any community. Anonymity leads to excessive toxicity.

No account statistics is disappointing for individual players, but it also means there is a lack of reputation or a background for opponents and teammates. This game's social system lacks accountability.

Add statistics and profiles. Make a deadbydaylight specific account/name instead of steam names or other console tags per dbd account. Allow the ability to add friends within this system.

This would be a great first step to a better community.

I think most of the stats you're inquiring about cannot be collected and/or shared from an Xbox due to user-end agreements and other obstacles, prolly on PlayStation too. As far as name changes, that can be only done once a month and costs $$, at least on Xbox. And sadly the built-in browser (Edge) is terribly weak and rarely used.

I'd like to at least see my own info, but outside of Achievement progress and like five other stats there's not much available.

  • I see the abuses/issues with DS and a few other perks, but I think an actual working MMR and further tweaking of maps would honestly do more good imo.
