Should you have your profile set to Private or Appear Offline, I think it may violate the User End stuff to display this info at all, at least on Xbox. Not sure about the other platforms though.
If so the devs certainly wouldn't implement this if it only worked on PC players but not console for example. They also might wish to avoid any additional salt such a change would prolly generate, that makes sense to me too.
I personally wouldn't mind this post-game, but doubt it'll happen.

Every once and awhile I will get dced from either steam because of an update or get behaviored by dbd servers and it still acts like i dced. I feel like this could be easily differentiated by the game as not a dc. While rare i don't think it should be a thing can someone please address this?
Such disconnects are common on console, although i haven't let the penalty grow beyond 5min. Unfortunately they cannot tell the difference between an actual intentional DC and crashes/drops/whatever, and the penalty treats them the same.

On any console no, but PC maybe. I believe someone posted links to their own creation in the forums that might have what you're asking about.
Lemme look around for it...

P.D. Console players do not apply, they get the hook always.
P.D. 2 Mainly because I cant check their profiles to see if they have VAC bans or -rep infested profiles (anyone with several "-rep camps" gets the hook, no exceptions).
What's the reasoning behind hooking any consolers in this situation?

My biggest concern is will this killer be difficult-to-unusable on console, especially the older ones. Aiming concerns aside, that many projectiles that are supposed to create visuals on-screen at the moment of impact seem like they'd be too much to do and not drop frames and look comical.

It only confirms what I am saying. You favor the pleasure of the survivors over that of the killers. Under the pretext that the survivors wait longer, you allow them to cheat and have an unbalanced advantage over the killer, without the latter having a choice.
It's just selfishness.
We are all responsible for our actions. There would be more killers and a lower wait time for survivors if the survivors hadn't abused the SWF.
You reap what you sow.
The one part of this I cannot agree with is calling SWF on comms a cheat. The devs themselves set up an official Discord for the purpose of survs meeting up and forming a team. This act sanctions SWF in my mind, removing it from the list of cheats, hacks, exploits and the like.
Is it unbalanced and open to abuse? Absolutely, as are several aspects of this game. And I see them very slowly making small changes to correct the situation in what I believe is the only doable way: trying to give solos more info and coordination to approach SWF-like capabilities.

@TheresAGameInYourBug said:
They can't fix it as it's something beyond their control. The game is asymmetrical so there needs to be 4 survivors for every killer. Let's say you had 32,000 people playing survivor, you would need 8000 killers for everyone to get into a game (a ratio of 4:1)
However if there are only 2000 killers, then that'll mean long wait times for the survivors as there aren't enough killers available for games. If it was 32,000 survivors and 12,000 killers, then all those survivors would get into a game but it'd be a long wait for the killers as there aren't enough survivors available.
The only thing BHVR can do is try to encourage more people to change roles at times of demand... But ultimately it's the players choice what they wanna play
Pretty much this. To boil it all down, more killers are needed. Please also play killer.
It'll make you a better survivor in the long run, you earn bloodpoints way way faster, and you help with the queue times.

Spent weeks trying to learn her long ago on Xbox, before the recharge changes to her blinks. Frame drops took away most hits, the blink aim was usually way off, she would blinkbounce off of lots of things (I recall tire stacks being the biggest culprit), and could not swing the camera or her around fast enough to track let alone line up another blink. The fps and controls made it a nightmare to play her.
Nowadays I hear several colonies of bugs infest her as well.
Shout out to those who mastered her on console mad props.

I have been gaming on DBD on different platforms and have now decided to stay with PC but I was wondering if I could get some insight or status of the idea of at least and option for a cross-platform option implemented to open up availability and growth in the player database? I would hope Sony and Microsoft would allow such things happen but is there an idea of allowing players to be able to play with one another.
If you mean Cross Play mixing the platforms together we have that option now.
If you are referring to Cross Progression saves between PC and Xbox/PS then no not available right now. This is a known request but last word was nope and maybe never.
-
From what I have seen of the dev's methods, they aren't interested in 'punishing' anyone in any role so nurfing SWF of any size is out (like repair debuff, another perk, restricting # of perks, etc).
Something like half of all survs are in at least a two-man squad so removing SWF is out.
They know showing SWF in the lobby will lead to dodging & bad queue times so that is out. Also they resist heavily changes that may split the community so no separate queues either.
They cannot do a thing about comms, so best imo to get solos more info however they can. This they seem to be doing in baby steps. If the new MMR and these changes do a darn thing to close the coordination & info gap, then they would buff killers to rebalance.

Is there a way you can add a customisation option for brightness on dbd. I'm asking because on console, most maps are just unplayable. I'm usually okay with just playing, but it makes it had to find; let alone keep track of a survivor in this darkness. I'm not trying to complain because that's the one thing I don't do in this game surprisingly, but this is a serious problem. At the moment I'm am and have been play on Xbox, but my PlayStation also say they have the same problem.
Agreed. The minimal amount you can adjust the brightness on a TV doesn't cut it for most of the reworked maps, and even some of the older maps as well.

Would be nice, salt included. However I do hope the PCrs will wait 13-14min for me to type out a message with my controller. Among other things, we lowly consolers do not have m&k support either.

You can leave by Alt+F4, and as @Yatol said, you can also leave by using the task manager, it's impossible to know if the crash is a alt+F4, a kill task, or a real crash.
Anyway, currently the game doesn't crash as often as mentioned in the post. Take a look on your computer config (hello bad custom overclocking), or check/repair the game.
Not true for console, crashes are quite common. I restart my Xbox after every 3-4 matches to bandaid issues like this we've been dealing with for years. Restarting also mitigates the fps drops some, but no one should have to work around stuff like this.

Aren't you on the One X, the strongest of the last gen consoles? It really sucks that last gen has to go through this hell. Not everyone is fortunate enough to acquire a PS5 or Series X (especially with all the scalpers trying to buy them up and the pandemic going on).
I play on an Xbox1x too and have all of these frame drops whenever any status effect kicks in, like Exhaustion. It is far more noticeable as killer and especially on the indoor maps.

I've had 3 games where killers have taken the game hostage with the 2 killer glitch. They kill 2 and then hatch doesn't spawn even though there's 1 survivor left and just don't let you leave. I'd consider that a pretty ######### big problem.
I feel so left out. Something like 1500 hours in this game and I haven't seen two killers yet.

Sorry for any confusion: I was referring to a mid-game DC.
Like Insane mentioned as soon as the match starts the offerings are burnt. It had to be this way because of certain offering behavior, like for a particular map for instance it has it's effect or not as the match starts.
Coins spawn their chests, hook movers do their thing, hatch or basement get effected by the blueprint ones, etc. These occur as the match begins, not midgame.
-
Newer players have difficulty with Piggy because they haven't learned yet how to play around what she can & can't do, her limitations, or if the killer is playing her what I would call mean.
The timer does not start until a gen pops, and pauses when in chase, within her terror radius, on a hook, or when slugged.
Without add-ons you have two and a half minutes to search 4 boxes. Most mains of her like me swear survs get it in the first or second try, but it is really rng.
If the gates are open the trap will kill if already active, but if inactive the gates are safe. You can also leave through the hatch even if the trap is active.
Now if the killer is not nice they can follow you slowly while crouched and interfere with you searching the boxes, but this tactic should cost them the game, and imo is not how to play her efficiently. She is better served I think going after survs who do not have a trap.
When it does take several searches it is a decent slowdown for her, but I go into a match knowing I prolly won't get a single kill from the trap going off. It just doesn't happen often, and the killer has to throw the match to ensure one does go off.
Also booping the snoop might save you from certain doom.
Might.
-
Supposedly you center him on your screen, nothing in the way including your own character's head. It's much more difficult if he's leaning or has certain add-ons. You do all this and I guarantee you'll break him out of it at least 38% of the time.
-
I do hope PCrs stick around 13-14 min while I type out a reply with my controller, should we ever get full chat.

I agree that is the greatest problem with her power the RNG on it is just weird.
If your a survivor you could get into a situation where you have to go to every single box on the map to get the key. While as Killer you could get into a situation where not just one but multiple survivors find the key on their first or second try
Which for a very finite main power is incredibly bad. I'm not sure how to touch this without reworking a large chunk of how the power works. Perhaps if the survivor gets lucky first try the Trap is refunded to the Pig?
One thing they could do is change the color of the Jigsaw box once the surv gets their hat off. Kinda like Plague, the killer interacts with it for a duration and regains a trap.

Well DLSS 2.0 is very easy to add. But this will only work on Nvidia RTX gpus. Even if lets say 10% of the player base has a rtx gpu, it would still be worth it, considering it only takes 7 mins to add in Unreal Engine lmao. There's tutorials on youtube how to add it that takes less than 7 minutes.
The reason they haven't added it is this plugin for Unreal Engine was released like 2 weeks ago. Before Nvidia released the plugin, devs would have to contact Nvidia and work on it together to get it to work, and thats why they haven't done it yet. But now there's no reason not to add it.
The DX12 Ultimate Mesh Shaders are a lot hader to add, and takes way more work, but they should really think about it.
So this might improve maybe 10% of PC players? From what I've seen of the devs methods, they don't even consider changes that do not include all platforms.

If the maps themselves weren't overpowered then map offerings wouldn't be a problem.
Outside of some very specific killer builds, using a map offering shouldn't have such an impact on a trial. The fact that they can indicates how unbalanced those maps are, not problems with any offerings.
If I am surviving and get a bunch of indoor maps in a row, that's the time I'll put up map offerings to get outside some.

Because the amount of feedback we give, and ideas that people come up with get thrown under the rug because we're not the devs. Everyone told the devs how much they hated the new UI, and they still went through with it because apparently console feedback meant something now? We all thought the delay of the mid chapter meant they were fixing the new UI, but that wasn't the case. And so many times we have proposed a health update for the game, but the devs simply refuse to take one chapter release off to fix core issues the game is still present with. But I just don't even know if even taking one chapter release off to address the health of the game would be enough, because the biggest issue with Dead By Daylight is the spaghetti coding. You fix one thing, and then boom you have another 500 bugs being brought into the game. I know they said they are gonna use the mid chapter towards fixing things, but bad coding is just gonna bring up even more problems. The idea of a health update would be something everyone applauds if it were to happen, but let's not forget the amount of issues spaghetti coding brings in.
I'm curious about part of your statement here, saying "because apparently console feedback meant something now..." Are you referring to how consolers cannot participate in PTB's to get their feedback in?

Tried everything with addons, The Pig just can't keep up. I got Rank 2 with the Pig (1 pip away from Rank 1) and I really enjoyed it, especially with the Make Your Choice, Pop and Surveillance combo which really forces the Pig to not tunnel and camp but in the end it is fighting a losing battle.
I really would like the traps to take more time to remove so that it can actually slow down the game a lot more.
It is just a difficult killer to consistently win with I think. If someone wins a lot of Pig games they can prob pickup any other killer and do better.
I really like the pig though :'(
I'm gonna go play some Pig now.
Get em! Good hunting!!
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
ok so why do i never get you guys in my lobbies and instead i get [REDACTED] the twat who decides tunneling is the only option as Pig lmao?
This i can only answer for myself, and the reason is most likely you're a red rank surv while I'm at best a 13-14ish killer, and the lovely matchmaking has yet to toss us in together.
Also I'm East Coast US, if that matters.
-
This focussing on a trapped surv as you describe is not how I play my Piggy, and should cost them the match. The headgear, especially when active, ensures that surv is in all likelyhood not doing gens, not healing themselves or others, not saving, not doing totems, etc. That pressure is priceless and is even better should that surv not get the trap off first try, which sadly seems to happen often.
Now if I'm in chase and stumble across a surv searching a box they might get a drive-by smack down, but I will resume the chase I was on. Usually I'll ignore a surv with an activated trap running around and look for another, or if late game slug them, but still keep moving.
With all her limitations and mostly poopy add-ons Piggy just doesn't have time to tunnel like that.

They’re custom icons, in what way would the playerbase be split? It doesn’t make sense. If this is so important to them then why haven’t they added pre/post game chat for consoles so everyone can chat together regardless of the platform they’re on?
Rumor has it that chat is due out this summer, but can't trust rumors much. Recently the devs have been more communicative than in the past, but we are not exactly overloaded with info either as to what and when.
A new roadmap would be amazing.
