We're lucky we get that at all.
- Community complained endlessly about it during 2018's Hallowed Blight and 2019's Moonrise events, for 'disrupting normal gameplay'.
- Devs see that people didn't like that type of event, so they stopped doing it in favour of what we normally get (Bloodpoint offerings, decorations and special items, none of which change gameplay that much).
- Community complains that all the newer events are boring and don't do anything.
- Devs finally makes another event with gameplay changing elements (the snowmen), and take a guess what the community does (just look at the forums and Reddit these past few weeks).
We can't even have something as minor as that without the community bitching about it. There's no way that we could handle something as drastic as what you're envisioning, unfortunately.
I honestly think it's just a minority of players, who take this game very seriously, that complain and that the majority appreciate the shake ups that events could have. I really hope the devs start branching the game out a little and try to shake it up a little more, but with more effort in making things fair for both sides.

I forget to ready up because it can take a while to get a lobby and I always tab out to finish watching Malcolm in the Middle.

All three as long as they're outdoor maps.
I'd settle for an indoor club for Trickster, but only if they take interior design tips from me.

Hell no, I'd like to play Twins few more times without wanting to kill myself.
They wouldn't be able to be used in order to tank a hit. They would only disguise survivors, so Victors pounce would cause him to latch on to them and not give them a free kick.

No, I want a full on permanent bush cosmetic for Claudette. It is my dream cosmetic!
But I'll settle for a offering 😒

You can’t make solo queue any better than it currently is. Some think buffing Solo Queue by giving them more information would make things better, but the fact of the matter is that potato survivors are going to potato.
With the current MMR, the best that you can do is look out for yourself and try to escape as much as possible so the game could eventually pair you up with better teammates. If you have to be selfish and let people die, so be it.

Honestly, I dread getting Badham more than Haddonfield now as killer.
I hate both and this is from a survivor main.

I suggest you buy him with shards and not actual money so the buyers remorse wont feel too bad.

I enjoy games where I can interact and work towards a common goal with others and the survivor role fits the bill perfectly. I used to really enjoy stealth play, but it seems the devs are moving away from that, which will eventually be a reason why I'd stop playing.

Supposedly. IMO tinkerer is a fairly unhealthy perk.
How is it unhealthy? It forces interaction between survivors and the killer. It gives the killer a better chance to defend the gens and buy more time. Sure, it may make the match a little more difficult for survivors, but the game isn't supposed to be easy for either side. Besides, all survivors have to do is make sure to do the center gens first and the killer wouldn't have enough time to patrol between all the gens when they're down to two.

He needs to have a flying shark with a laser cannon that he can ride upon and rain down hell upon survivors from.

But you said if someone is upset because of tunneling and camping they do it cause they are bad. Even if face the top tier survivors I get atleast one down doesn't matter if it takes one or four gens and when I have you on the hook and decide to face camp you are screwed and there is nothing you can get better at to prevent it or do you really want to say survs just need to advance to a level where they don't ever go down
Its a 1 vs 4 game, you are not entitled to have an easy escape and not die on first hook. The only thing you’re entitled to is to have a chance at escape, which the game provides plenty of.
Not everyone who complains about tunneling and camping are bad, some are just entitled because they think the have some inherent right to dictate how the killer should play and if the killer doesn’t, they’re somehow the bad player.
Just like killers aren’t entitled to a 4k every game, survivors aren’t entitled to escape. Looping the killer well or holding M1 at a gen doesn’t entitle anyone a win, the only thing that entitles them a win is passing through the exit gates.
You can argue that getting tunneled and camped are not fun, and I would agree, but they’re an inherent part of the game, just as looping the killer around the same structure three times, the chaining the loop to another near by structure only to then use Dead Hard to loop even more, isn’t really fun for killers.
Finally, if you caught and camped a top tier survivor, that is your right and you earned that kill. You invested the time in the chase, caught them and gave up pressure on their teammates. I would call that a fair trade.

Oke so from killer main to killer main tell me our honest opinion what can a survivor do to "get better" if you want them dead sooner or later you will catch the survivor and if you the face camp and tunnel of hook there is no getting better. And I don't say there aren't situations where tunneling or even camping isn't a OK tactic and justified
I’m never have and never will be a killer main. I’ve always been a survivor main since I’ve started this game. I go so far as to role play when I’m in a trial.
There are plenty of things survivors can do to get better. First they can have situational awareness and pay attention to their surroundings so they don’t get caught in a dead zone. They can learn how to loop efficiently and chain tiles together. They can learn how to break LOS and evade the killer and they can use one, if not more, of their second chance perks that can reset a chase.
If a survivor goes gets hooked before two gens are done, that’s on them and their teammates. The game provides plenty of things that you can use to waste the killers time. Heck, I’m terrible at looping and prefer stealth yet, I’m able to buy enough time at the start of the match to get two gens done just by running across the map, away from my teammates. and pre dropping a couple of pallets.
Barring all that, your teammates can actually come in and take aggro by blinding the killer and make scratch marks in order for you to get away. They can also body block and sabotage hooks to prevent kills.
This isn’t a 1vs1 game. The killer should always have the advantage against a lone survivor, and just because tunneling and camping may seem like the “easy” choice, it’s only as easy as the survivors allow them to be.
-
Horror never left. Survivors strike fear and agony into the hearts of killers on a daily basis.

This forum is riddled with crybaby killers.
It’s not toxic to tunnel or camp, only whiny crybaby survivor mains complain about it because they’re just bad at this game.
This forum is riddled with crybaby survivors who can’t handle loss and have to blame their opponents for their own shortcomings.

But they blind and stun killers, so they can't be THAT weak.
They’re just downplaying how powerful they are so the devs don’t touch them. An item that can undo a killers progress and waste even more of their time is anything but weak.
Its only weak in the hands of a potato.

This would be more useful for survivors.

Only thing that Behaviour needs to do with the DC penalty is to queue up serial DC'ers with each other so they can ruin each others games and leave the non-DC'ers alone.

Only? Once every 15 is a hell of a lot in my eyes considering how many killers there are. It’s deffo not that often for me but still just the deadest game whenever it happens
Its not a lot to me, and when it happens, meh, can't win them all. Game would be even more boring and repetitive if every match against every killer I faced was the same. Also, some of the most fun I've had in this game is when I have decent, not great, but decent teammates and we manage to pull off a rescue against a camping Bubbi. Heck, its one of the reasons I run Borrowed Time. Even if I get downed, it's satisfying to know I rescued someone that Bubbi wanted dead, especially if they ran him around the world.
-
Nah, Bubbi Boi is fine. This is a pvp game and there will always be aspects about it that people will find “unfun”. People just need to understand that patience is a part of playing video games, no matter how boring it may be. Unfortunately many players are entitled and expect to be catered to.
Bubbi has plenty of counters, windows, pallets and loops. Be aware of your surroundings and don’t be caught in a dead zone. By the time Bubbi downs someone, in a competent team, three gens should be completed. If he camps, he shouldn’t get more than a 1k. If he downs everyone then that’s the survivors fault for crowding together.
-
I’m on PC with cross play on and I only see camping Bubbas with insidious maybe something like once every 15 matches. Other than that, most Bubbies I face usually just use BBQ and hone in on people rather than camp, unless it’s endgame.

Nope, I’ve never been much of a horror fan except for the original Jeepers Creepers film along with Halloween H20, a few of the Nightmare on Elm’s Street films and the original Scream movie. I’m surprised I like this game since I’ve never been one to like getting scared, but here I am.
I may rewatch the English version of The Ring, but I doubt it.
-
I get frustrated but I don’t blame the killer. It’s the smartest thing they can do and they’re under no obligation to show mercy or make the game easier for me.

Ok, good to know
While I was opening an exit gate, the killer opened the other before hooking a survivor. I opened it hoping to escape before the hook, but I was like half a second too late, blocked right in my face. At least I wasn't responsible for my own demise. Thanks for the answer.
The perk also shows the killer your aura if you're standing in the gate, so if you see it active, get out of the gate and go hide.

I've been thinking about it for a while now! It would totally work with this game if the devs wouldn't be afraid to try it.

Leatherface is fine how he is.
DS on the other hand, I think it should activate after both hook stages, so it can actually counter tunneling.
Why should the game be made more difficult for killers and try to force them into choosing a more difficult path, while being made even easier for survivors and give them two free health states?

@OnryosTapeRentals said:

No, nerf Pig.

@Sluzzy said:
His saw could inflict one health state and he would still be very strong. This is how overpowered he is. If you are going into the basement, it is game over. He needs nerfing for sure.
No, he doesn't need nerfing. Survivors are supposed to come up with different strategies for different killers. If every killer had the same counter the game would get stale. The only thing I can think of that needs to be buffed is Borrowed Time. Once hit by a killer while, it should give a faster speed boost or allow the survivor to phase through any attack withing 3-4 seconds after the first attack, preventing Bubba from double hitting the recently unhooked.
As for the basement, the onus is on the survivors to pay attention to their surroundings and make sure they avoid it when they face a Bubba. Survivors need to be held responsible for their actions as much as you want killers to.

It would also be difficult if the killer isn't bad at looping or pressuring gens.
Five totems for two perks is still really strong slowdown, and again, mostly hurts solos while having less impact on swiffers.
The only thing solo needs is a chat wheel to implement some sort of communications without adding comms. The game shouldn't be balanced around idiot potatoes that can't do bones or last more than 5 seconds in a chase. Perks and abilities shouldn't be nerfed to make things easier for bad players. Rather, matchmaking should make sure new players are never put up with veterans, and perhaps the devs should limit the amount of perks allowed for lowest ranks.
-
@Firellius said:

Not if they have to do it five times before it pays off.
I disagree, cleansing 5 totems removes at least 2 perks, if not more, from the killers repertoire. That alone makes it worth it.
This would only be difficult if you or your teammates are bad at looping or doing gens while the killer is chasing someone, which isn’t a problem with totems but a problem with people having a lack of skill.
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2692421#Comment_2692421
It's not quite that solid.
Yeah, survivors have time to hunt down a totem and fix it, but only because the reward they get saves them the time they invest.
Is not cleansing Ruin and preventing the regression of gens not enough of a reward for the time investment of searching for totems?
-
@Predated said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2690777#Comment_2690777
But it's not their job to drop chase with someone else purely to go back to the person who just was unhooked either.
If the recently unhooked person is bad at looping, it is the best decision that the killer could make. The sooner one person is out of the match, the less pressure there is on generators.
-
@GannTM said:
DC penalties are necessary but they definitely should fix this. Maybe make it where if the killer stands still for like 10 seconds, they completely lose collision.
To make it a bit more immersive I’d rather they implement an animation of the survivor pushing the killer out of the way when the killer doesn’t move for 20 seconds. 10 seconds is too short. Maybe their cat jumped up on their keyboard for pets.
-
Trapper. The paranoia I get from being afraid of grass is just so frustrating.

Now do one with Demopuppy.

The devs should have considered something like this. Even though the snowmen aren't much in terms of gameplay, they're a nice addition and help spice up the game. It's nice to have something "different" from the usual stuff.

Ooh, I forgot about Iron Will, I may switch out Urban Evasion for it, but it's so helpful against Hag, which I face on a semi consistent basis. Still die to her though, since teammates just run everywhere.
