i remember laughing at @Sluzzy posts even before i knew how to play the game (not that it changed much, but still xD)
i dont post much and as i dont really have much to add when i do its usually unserious stuff, but i really like reading the discussions. this has been my favorite corner of the internet since i got into dbd, and honestly im kinda sad that it will soon be gone.
thank you. It’s nice to be remembered.

Actually think Wraith is one of the most balanced killers. If Your specifically talking about coxcombed clapper then it is a bit on the strong side but I don't even run it I prefer faster uncloak, speed.

I came in here thinking this was a confusing post about Survivors body blocking. Happy that’s not the case.
I would like this to be implemented. I shouldn’t be required to keep a list of usernames that I’ll need to keep track of in order to avoid toxic people in the lobby.
-
@Nazzzak said:
I'd actually be down for a hide and seek mode, but not for Lights Out. Small map, remove all means of tracking (ie use eyes and map knowledge only), and of course no lockers because no one wants to spend 10 minutes searching lockers.
We can do both since it’s going to be a limited time event. I like your idea but at the same time they could just make it their version of prop-hunt. Lockers can stay but they won’t open so no one hides in them.

What if the survivors just goes around in circles in the corner of the map, actually whispers can be added to the killer but I feel like the system should make it so survivors move and don't stay in one area for too long and ig lockers can be removed too.
I think this should be just a separate game mode but it can still have the darkness and some features of lights out like no scratch marks and no terror radius.
It would be interesting for something that doesn't have gens, that infection game mode bhvr is making will have no gens and the 1v1 game mode will also not have gens so that's something.
they can implement a new objective that survivors have to interact with every 60 seconds for 10-15 seconds in order to not get exposed. If they fail to do so, they get a crow that reveals their location and maybe even have them be exposed.
-
@SpyUA said:
Ok and how exactly is killer supposed to find the survivors?
the Devs can implement a short timer system that requires Survivors to move after not moving for an “x” amount of time. Since there’s no gens to patrol, they just need to move around to come across Survivors that have to move. Killers could maybe also get faster movement speed when not in chase.
it’d just be nice to have the devs move away from gens and try new things. -
@LordGlint said:
The pebble would ironically be the only source of scratch marks. Lights Out mode removes stuff like scratch marks.
Is Killer Instinct removed as well? Maybe they could implement Pebble where it causes a loud noise notification along with Killer Instinct while also making certain Survivor Actions to cause it as well?

I love it as survivor. Killer not so much.
yea, I was thinking about it as a Survivor. Don’t play much Killer anymore tho so I don’t have an opinion on it in that role.

@MechWarrior3 said:
For me I keep getting Backwater Swamp. Its awful.
I think I’m the only player who likes that map when I play as Survivor.
-
Scratched Mirror Myers.
Play to scare and hear streamers scream, not actually win. I find regular “run around a pallet” gameplay boring and tedious. It’s much more fun trying to cut people off from angles they don’t expect.
Let all non-toxic players escape after 2 hooking them. Keeps me away from dealing with too many Sweaty SWF.
I don’t really play any other killer.
-
Trapper
I want him to have Iridescent Stone as base-kit and give him a new Iridescent add-on that causes his traps to turn into landmines that launches Survivors into the air and puts them in the dying state.
His traps shouldn’t work on him either.

Well sure, generally speaking, solo queue surv is the clearly the hardest role to play in DBD, but "playing soloq survivor is infinitely harder than Killer ever could be"? That's too much hyperbolic generalization.
I mean I've only played surv solo since 2020, but I'm here to tell you that playing a D-tier killer on a bad map against strong survs is worse. It's the most helpless I've felt in DbD, and I've played this game from just about any angle possible.
But that's the thing; playing killer isn't as consistent an experience as playing surv is. How hard it is varies wildly based on the killer you're using and the maps you get. Playing Blight on Fallen Refuge or Nurse on Midwich? Cakewalk, a trained monkey can win.
But try Myers on Badham, Onryo on Mother's Dwelling or Trapper on Eyrie against survs who aren't braindead and you will know pain.I can relate to the helpless feeling. I play SoloQ more than Killer (really only played Killer when I got burnt out with bad teammates) and never have I felt as miserable as I did when I was playing Hag and faced a fully coordinated SWF. They basically neutered my power and all knew how to loop. Nothing I tried worked and when they got to one gen they stopped working on them just to come and t-bag and harass me when I was doing my best to salvage the match.
I ended up giving up and they still took their sweet time with the gen just to drag it out. Now I only play Scratched Mirror Myers because I can’t handle the stress of trying to win and playing the normal tedious run around the pallet routine.

As a gamemode, sure. Some KIllers would need to be banned (I think that only really basic Killers should be included in such a mode) for it. And 100% there would need to be a different objective, simply because doing Gens in first person would be even more boring.
Oh, yea, a lot of the Killer roster would have to be banned. They should stick with M1 Killers like Wraith or go so far as limiting Killer abilities.
-
Danny DeVito plays all the characters except for David who will be played by a Shirtless Henry Cavill and Felix who will be played by a Shirtless Theo James.
-
The game was originally balanced around the Survivors not having communication. It’s evolved and now you have the live action-HUD to give you most of the information you need. Adding comms to the game would only make it worse with how toxic and whiny the player base is.
If you really want comms, learn how to make friends and play SWF
-
it’s possible. BHVR likes money and a shirtless lifeguard Billy would sell like hotcakes.
-
forum goers have been telling me that the game is dying since I started playing with the original Stranger Things chapter release
-
Trapper. I get too paranoid and I can’t run unless the ground is visible.
-
Current Nurse is fine and needs no changes unless the devs nerf SWF at the same time.
Myers rework should be reverted. Facing old tombstone was more fun than facing dash slop.
SpineChill nerf should be reverted.

How effective is Grope against Springtrap? Free hit or HR stun?
Depends on the cosmetic. If they have a mask on, they’re into it and return the grope and teleport with the Survivor to Freddy’s map to the room in the boiler room with the mattress for some alone time. If it’s without the mask, to HR they go.

the Entitys HR Department will contact you
-
Grovel: get down on hands and knees and beg for mercy.
Grope: grope the Killer and make them feel uncomfortable and run to the Entities HR Department to file a complaint. It’s super effective on hot Killers like Wesker and Myers. Has no effect on uggo like Hag and will give them a free hit.
Smack/Kick: allows you to smack a teammate, taking a health state from them, when they do something stupid like pop a gen or drop a pallet when the Killer isn’t nearby. If hooked, and they try to unhook in the Killers face, you’ll get a prompt to kick them in the head if you want to. -

In my opinion his power looks cool to me and has some fun concepts, though they could have done so much more with it and had so much more fun with it.
I am more angry at the quality in his animations.I do wish the animations and character models were better. I understand they’re limited by the game engine but it would be nice if the graphics were on par with the latest Mortal Kombat game so we can have fatality level moris

I hope he’s the first Killer that can Pallet Stun Survivors.

Can we get a banana hammock Dwight Cosmetic to go with this? 👉👈
as long as he’s barefoot and it has an orange and black tiger stripe pattern
-
I think it could an amazing chapter if BHVR really went all out and got creative with it. It would also bring back my fellow old farts who stopped playing.
I don’t know what her power should be but for her mori, she could shrink the Survivor and stomp on them.(I know she would make herself bigger but I think the reverse is better to avoid wacky camera angels and model clipping) Kimberly and Tommy could be Survivors and the Devs could use this chapter as an excuse to introduce Ninja Cosmetics that were in the first movie. I’d love running around as a squad of Claudette’s in green Ninja suits.
-
Her name is Claudette, not Claudia. Please make sure to remember that! Queen of the Bushes is also acceptable.

Ignore them for about a minute and if nothing changes, kill them and farm with the rest of their team

I wish they took the time and effort to properly balance maps so they don’t feel one sided for any role instead of nerfing map offerings.

same thing that would happen if all killer mains quit

better to just let the player have a selection option for male or female and have the art team make all the cosmetics fit both models.

OoooOoooh what about ivan ooze?
He can be the Legendary cosmetic for Lord Zed for when they release the second Power Rangers Chapter. I need Rita first. Shes bae.
-
I don’t think it’s very outlandish and can be a great if BHVR does a good job with it but:
-
It’s more like a horror themed elimination tag with optional hide and seek
-
I ran Insidious on Wraith 😶
-
Two are enough, though they should have their A.I. improved more.
If he needs buffs, it should be to his base power.

I want two legacy events. One where it’s a copy of Myers original release and another where it’s a copy if Stranger Things original release. Just so people can see how the game changed.

Incorrect. No nerf will ever come close to the butchering Skerchant got.
Yes, Stevegulls nerf is a tragedy, but it’s far from the worst.

I don’t anymore, well at least not much. Been here for years and the discussions are all the same. I just come to see if anything new or funny happened

Ghoul, Billy and as of right now, 001 as well.
Ghoul has an extremely easy first hit, easier than Legion. That already eliminates the effectiveness of a lot of strong perks like Drama and SB. His chase afterwards isn't as strong, but it's definitely not bad. He has good map pressure, good mobility and good tunneling ability.
Billy doesn't get the first hit as easy but a good Billy is scary. You are threatened at basically every loop. He's extremely lethal and hard punishes misplays. He has insane mobility, great map pressure and is easy to force trades with.
001, First, Vecna 2 or Henry. Whatever you wanna call him. 2nd best chase in the game, behind only Nurse. He's got decent mobility and good map pressure. He's not great at camping but he is extremely effective at tunneling.
he should be called Mr Whatsit. Calling him 001 makes me think that people are talking about a spinoff series from the James Bond franchise

I HAVEN'T SEEN STRANGER THINGS SINCE S3 I HEARD THE ENDING WAS BAD caps
there were more loose ends than I’d have liked, Wills acting wasn’t very good in this season (felt like overacting) and some of the writing could have been better but i don’t think it was terrible. I’d give it a 7 out of 10.
If I was able to change things, I’d have switched season 3 with 5 and have the final battle take place in Hawkins and change some of the writing to make it work better.
-
That they’re still having fun? That they genuinely love the game and still enjoy playing it. That, regardless for all the whining on Reddit and these forums, they’re not having as bad of a time as the whiners are?
Remember, Reddit and the forums are only a tiny fraction of the playerbase and that most of the whining is from the same people posting under different accounts because they’ll never be happy. If you’ve been here long enough you can tell who is who just by their writing style and their arguments.
Where are you getting your statistics that burnout is “at an all time high”? Did the devs provide you with the results of some secret poll they took? Or is it just your opinion? The player-base has always risen around new chapters and taper off once the newness wears off. It’s nothing new and it always goes back up with the release of new chapters and events.
-
I’d rather they just do another numbers buff on him, like faster trap setting speed, faster movement speed after setting a trap and after a Survivor gets trapped, rather than a full on rework. The Devs have shown time and time again that they’re not really good at it. I don’t need or want him to be buffed to S-tier. I’ll be happy if he goes up to C+ or B tier.
-
Two separate modes won’t work. First, it’ll mess with queue times. Second, all the sweaty players will go to non-ranked mode for easy games. It might work if they give ranked mode some amazing rewards or something but most rewards BhVR come up with are usually underwhelming

Haven't felt the soul of the game in a long time.
It does often feel like DBD just funds BHVR's other interests. Whether that be flops like Meet Your Maker or Deathgarden; or The Casting of Frank Stone, which didn't really sell all that well. Sometimes feels like they'd rather be a publisher and that DBD is just the money machine funding that ambition.
they honestly changed too much. I wish there was a way to revert the game to how it was when Stranger Things came out. Yes balance wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t need to be. The chaos is what made the game fun and exciting. I admit it could be me looking back with rose tinted glasses, but I do miss those times.
Now I just can’t boot up and play regardless of role

I'd change Invocations to not make you broken, but to take longer, maybe 120s. Wasting a bunch of time is a big enough penalty.
I'd change Friends til the End to select the person with the least hooks. As it is, it always seems to go for someone who just got unhooked a second ago or the one person on death hook.
it’s crazy that they haven’t removed the broken status from all invocations. They’re not good enough for that kind of penalty. They could just change it to putting you in deep wound state, even if your fully healed and the perks would see some actual usage without being obnoxious to face.
Anyways, the two perks I’d change would be to revert the nerfs to Undying and SpineChill. I actually like using hex perks as killer and eating hex totems as a greedy bush. Spine Chill is because I’m bad and it helps so much against avoiding S tier killers like Nurse and Spirit. If not Spine Chill, I’d revert the nerfs to Distortion. Killers have plenty of aura perks or ways to find Survivors and I’d like Hide and Seek to make a comeback.

Well this is terrible news.
I've been expecting them to lose a license or two for some time now (simply due to how many there are in game these days — it's inevitable that some will come and go) but I didn't expect it to be Halloween.
it’ll come back just like Strangers things did. It’ll probably make them more money too.
