There are more survivors doing it compared to killers, personally I only BM the survivors only if they t-bagged or a bully squad (not all of them t-bag) and many other killers do the same. Also when you are slugged and getting BM'd watch YT or something but killers need to still play.

no we dont, i just alt tab when gates are opened and i dont feel like going to see the gloat show

I'd like to think there's ppl who also just buy skins because they look cool. Im personally rocking the ironmaiden dredge skin for example even though its arguably Pay to lose.

i buy what looks cool, i dont care about anything else lol

  • Stop playing to win. Im an anxios person normally and get stressed out easily and while i generally dont have stress in multiplayer games, i just dont care if i lose in games.

Killer in dbd is different. not so much over winning but the level of obstacles i feel i have to fight through to succeed especially when i know i can perform super well.

Set your goals lower. dont shoot for a 4k. shoot for a 1 or 2k. whatever feels achievable. focus on no kills at all, focus on getting better at 1 loop or 1 action.

With huntress recently to learn her i completely stopped caring about if gens were done or who escaped. the only thing i do is throw hatchets so i can get better at it. i wont even m1. i just throw the hatchets and let people escape. This for example was waaaaaay more fun than having to eat 20 pallets to get 1 down to be blinded when i pick up for hook 2 in end game.

Its not easy to get out of that mindset but the reality is this game is asym and its not perfectly balanced and you are expected to stomp some lobbies and be stomped on by others.

every loss pushes your mmr a little bit closer to being more likey to face people at your level.

Dont fall into tribalism. that will be one of the biggest drainers of fun in existence when you start viewing the other role as these spiteful toxic people that want to ruin your day and the game is rigged against you and caters to the other player. this is a pitfall 80% of this forum and userbase are trapped in

Oh, I can and I will.

If you are playing like your life depends on your 4K, then you are not really at the point where you do something you like doing. At this point you are taking it too seriously and should reflect that. You are losing in a videogame. This is not a big deal. If you get anxiety from that, you really, really, really need to do something about it. (And it is not on the Devs to do something about it.)

being stressed by itself is not a mental health issue nor is anxiety. anxiety is a normal thing to feel. when it comes to any activity that someone is invested into or cares about whether it be regarding job performance or your next up to bat at your softball game.

To say that you just shouldnt do something if you feel anxious about doing such thing isnt a real solution. and i dont think a solution of preventing people from doing various activities of life due to a feeling they can not control is a good idea at all unless it is something actually medically serious and your having panic attacks and stuff like that but thats not whats happening (presumably) with anyone in dbd.

associating anxiety with "playing like your life depends on it" is not understanding why people feel anxious and you are thus misrepresenting it.

I also never stated anything about the devs or that anyone should do anything at all so no idea the purpose of that part of your comment.

I see a lot of "Assassin" as well. I think that one comes from Spanish.

that makes alot of sense. ive been confused by some posts that have been referencing an assassin

If you feel anxiety while playing Killer, you take the game way too seriously and should take a break. Taking the game less seriously and especially learning that you cannot win every time and that there will be some games where you lose badly is key.

Playing the victim card a bit less would also help a lot.

you cant nessecarily control what makes you feel anxious even if your not taking it seriously. You really shouldnt dismiss peoples anxiety but "just dont do x if you feel that way" as it doesnt actually solve anything other than saying dont do something you like doing.

I wonder how the killer mains would feel like if they were stunned in place for 70 seconds, unable to play the game, watching the gens fly around them if they hard-tunneled someone, because that is how it really feels like being on the receiving end of it.

Each hook stage is 70 seconds. when you are on hook you are stunned, can not move or do anything except hit spacebar on the second stage.

while i understand that getting eliminated early is less fun than getting eliminated later, some of the arguments people make up dont make a ton of sense.

also, you should never be down on the ground for 70 seconds. your team should be picking you up.

  • vigil just needs to be 11/22/33

thats still powerful and useful and doesnt completely negate out 50 status effects from impacting you or your entire team

  • @dangersmymidd1ename said:

The size of the progress bar and the fact that the faster timer can be affected by the location of the killer, means that it is often too late before you realise. There should be no problem in adding a debuff icon for other players.

its only 20% faster, there is still pleeeeenty of time to go for save unless someone is almost bled out on hook which you shouldnt be waiting that long anyways in most situations.

  • if you use your second chance to protect a unhooker or as an offensive weapon, tunneling no longer is a relevant talking point.

so then just remove the add on from the game, If i do not get the map i want within five games that five games of a wasted game and add on i could have used blood points or anything else.

thats just how percentage chances work man lol. dsme with rolling a 6 sided die. overall you woll a 4 1 in 6 times. some 2 4s in a row and other times 10 rolls before you see a 4.

but over time its 1 in 6 times.

    • only 2 traps can be active at the same time

    this makes him completely worthless.

  • its a 20% boost so while theres no set frequency over enough games 1 in 5 offering burned would send you to your prefferred map. doesnt mean every time in 5 would happen.

  • The abandon feature isnt there because your bored or because your team mate keeps charging a slug in front of the killer all while the other slugs refuse to crawl away from each other making it harder for a killer to patrol and cover them.

    hope this helps

  • considering billy is countered by 90 degree angles and maps are covered in 90 degree angles i dont think he needs a delay

  • @Yamalive said:

Most pallets are either trash or easily mindgameable. If this is frustrating for you, thats a skill issue on your end. Cause its nothing a killer couldnt handle with a bit of game sense.

Its funny that people still claim survivor would need training wheels while its actually the other way round. And thats nothing that could be denied.

    both can also be true.

  • its dead in the water in any match where friends are playing together.

  • when have killers ever been critiqued for "slide forehead against a wall" what does that even mean

that's probably exactly what the problem is, nobody knows the box better than a Pinhead main and if Hellraiser 2 is anything to go by, we don't get along.

Better possessed chain logic or not being able to break your own chains could go a long way for managing Cenobite frustration...we do find pleasure in pain but even we have our limits

the possessed chain power is just so utterly useless and can only give a super tiny bit of value every once in a while. otherwise it doesnt matter if you hit a surv with it, they lose zero distance.

I dont play him much these days tho i played a little with him recently and i think its more effective to play by not bothering with using the power at all unless your using the red iri that makes it injure a surv.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

the world needs more Cenos, Xenos, Liches, Springtraps and Unknowns.

I don't remember the last time I met a Cenobite that didn't DC. I enjoy the killer so much but facing them makes me feel like Mark from Invincible "I thought you were stronger!"

his possessed chain barely deserves to be called a power, thats my only gripe with him. his chain hunts go hard

your on the wrong mindset. stop worrying about others players fun and play for your fun. for Example i run a Blast Mine build like 70% of my games i love stunning the killer with wiretap so player see him get stun 🤣 and if i can get him at least 2 or 3 times in a game i won in my book.

Dont Limit yourself when Killers and Survivor will still bring their strongest kit

but you just told him to limit himself by not tunneling saomeone out in an elimination game where there is no game rule stating you should be alive X amount of time before you are eliminated.

So which is it? Limit yourself or not?

thats my point. We cannot use bugs from patches that don't have balance changes as evidence that small number tweaks will break the game

they are categorically different and so balance changes have their own patches, not bug patches which are specifically a bug.

changing a perk from 1 to 2% isnt a bug fix so it doesnt go into bug fix patches.

  • I used to main ghostface back in the day and i never used his stalk ability. I personally felt that while yea getting an exposed surv or 2 was fun, the time stalking hoping they didnt see you ect and then going into chase and attacking was almost always equal or longer than just sneaking up and hitting twice for a down and gf is sneaky enough its trivial to sneak up on a gen.

I was able to win most of the time by just relying on the shroud itself and not having a TR or i would use stalk to pick out where survs were on low visibility maps. but there was not much value in the exposed part of his kit in my opinion.

  • @cogsturning said:

More of Hillbilly, Deathslinger, Pyramidhead, Vecna, Demogorgon. So basically the same as your last results.

Less Legion. Had three in a row recently and wanted to die. Absolutely the most obnoxious killer in the game. I actually don't see that much of Ghoul. Unsurprisingly, the killer I'd currently like to see less of is Jason. I haven't played survivor in almost 2 weeks, the longest I've ever stopped playing the role since switching over from being a killer-only player, because of him. If every killer is like this going forward and that's all I see I won't be seeing any killers but the ones I play because survivor will be about dead for me.

jasons arent very common now in my matches, its gone down to about 10% of the time for me so you might have more regular games now

  • absolutely not.

not a single person would enjoy playing against a lag switch killer.

and no killer wants to move at 3ms for 80% of the game and then move so fast you cant tell whats going on.

    is this a joke suggestion?

  • i had a match last night with a bot and it did will up till end game where it ran to a corner of the map and just….stood there for like 5 mins while i was on hook, bleeding out, running around for the gate ect

  • I want hagatha to come out of a TP already moving or preserving your movement prior to the tp. you lose distance when you tp because she sits still and the surv is in motion.

  • the first perk would be unused in game. barely anyone interacts with chests and if you do its typically once a match and 8% but with a 5% penalty to gen checks is going to have an impact you will feel way way more than 8 percent chest speed

  • i promise you that will not make survivors rescue you quicker.

They can still see your timer so even if it goes down a bit faster they are either going to just ignore you or they will wait until the timer is down far enough that they cant wait anymore and then will push a save.

Survivor players rarely make intelligent hook rescues

  • @cammoking123 said:

Survivors are the weakest they've ever been. They're basically lambs to the slaughter. I actually played DBD when survivors were strong and had great meta perks like old Dead Hard. I can tell you that's no longer the case. These days Windows and Deja Vu are what passes for meta. Playing survivor is now as hard or harder than playing killer.

i mean, they arent supposed to be strong. the point of the game is that you ARE lambs to the slaughter, thats literally the point of you being there.

  • @KMD said:

you can do hotfixes in video games.

and they do. hotfixes are not actual balance changes, they are for bugs and fine tuning balance changes that were recently made

  • I like it. the physique already fits him as a member of the doughnut patrol lol and im always down for more clown cosmetics

  • @KMD said:

behaviour, trust me, you really do not have to playtest every single number change you make in notepad

They kinda do my man. you change one line of code in this game you break 5 other lines. They have to be more careful, they already mess stuff up enough as is

  • Tip#2

Healing under hook if the killer is not in a chase and you do not have specific perks for this you are doing nothing but giving the killer free info on 2 survivors and one is injured.

  • Trapper for me or a very small buff to hagatha. but i would play trapper frequently,, i love traps but he is very slow to get running and the game speed is too fast for him these days

  • I have not played jason but in what ive seen, his spear looks like i would have issues with it for that same reason. hard to understand where i need to aim

jesterkind desscribed it very similar to how I imagined…the source that is effected by diminishing returns should be given an icon that indicates it is not working at base value. When the perk in question is hovered over, it shows the adjusted modifier* and indicates the debuff is due to diminishings returns.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LK8OHP0DVJ6B/image.png

*I intentionally picked perks in the screenshot above that are conditional, understanding that showing the modifier in lobby may not be feasible. However, I would like to stress that it is a poor user experience to be asked to do the math to determine if my build is operating as expected.

    I really like this!

  • with most killers it really hard to truly secure or control a 3 gen. most games if survs semi know what they are doing the killer will have leave at least 1 of those gens alone if he doesnt have 1 or 2 eliminated by that stage.

On certain maps there are certain gens i will always let go because its a waste of time to go out of my way to patrol that and sometimes ill pick an area and somewhat stay in it if im a killer on a big map that doesnt move super fast or doesnt have the ability to respond quick enough to a notification on the other side of the map

  • it has been this way since the game launched. its not a big deal to me but yea definitely makes it hard if your trying to tell what direction a killer or a surv is moving so that you can plan the right move

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Thanks for answering! To add on to this, I'd love to uno reverse one of the comments here. If Diminishing Returns information were to be shared in-game, how would you prefer to see this handled?

We need to be able to understand what the numbers are. in my opinion if diminishing returns are impacting a perk it should say in the perk description what the new numbers are. im not capable of mathing out all that stuff effectively.

  • I think the cakes are in a good spot now too. i already have so many that it would take hundreds and hundreds of matches to use them up already. having 1k cakes on one character is pointless as i wont be playing 1k matches with that character over the next year

  • @Elan said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/469722/make-exhaustion-do-something

While I would like some antivault perks, I can't imagine it being anything good when already ping does a lot when receiving damage mid vaults. I Had idea for scourge hook perk:

    Scourge Hook: Eternal Winter

→ When survivor is hooked on a scourge hook all pallets and windows in 32m are iced untill vaulted. Iced pallets and windows give 10 % hindred for 5s after vault is performed.

akshually, it would be temporary winter because the ice goes away meaning its above 32 degrees and probably substantially higher if it melts a bunch of ice instantly so its not really winter

  • i dont think a warning count as punishment. if your consistently having shorter games than other survivors the systems not going to know thats you not throwing the game.

I dont know how people are getting hard tunneled in all their games as many people like to claim(not aimed at you nessecarily) because statistically if every killer tunnels there is a 1 in 4 chance that it would be you so roughly at maximum you can only be tunneled like 1 in 4 games and most killers do not tunnel. I 100% know this to be true(for my region anyways) But lots of things are called tunneling when no actual tunneling is being dead.

if YOU are consistently being tunneled in the majority of your matches i think that does become a you problem as to how your getting into that situation so often as im not a very good looper so im a surv thats prime target for tunneling and yet (on NA servers)

Now to your credit i dont doubt the event has more of it due to the mechanics in it (i play regular mode, i dont see the point in the event personally) I encounter actual tunneling MAYBE 1 in 30-40 games.

But i also play a ton of killer so i understand alot of the nuance in certain situations.

for example, if survs use their unhook endurance to protect an unhooker you cant yell tunneling after that which is quite common for people to do.

Sometimes the unhooked ends up not trying to evade me and ends up in my path 30 seconds later and unless im stomping the team, if its remotely competitive im just not going to ignore you, im gonna down you. But then claims of tunneling are brought up but thats not what happened. a bunch of other situations.

  • @Yamalive said:

The sad thing is, killers complain about everything in this event but have the most broken mechanic for the full match time.

you can have access to a broken mechanic in the game and have things you have issues with as well. they arent mutually exclusive and killers nor survivors chose what went into the event.

I do not see the point of this comment other than trying to insinuate that your not allowed to complain about something if there is something that another person could complain about with you. That doesnt make sense. you can complain about both things.

I was getting crows against him. I don't really see why a killer should force you into broadcasting your location. Why can't survivors stealth but this stealth killer can stay hidden for as long as he wants?

the game doesnt know the difference between the intention of progressing the game or hiding because you need to

  • i think the map size is fine, its quite sizeable. you add much more and its not a fun map for slower killers. its issue is more id say in how predictable gen spawns are and so predicting plays becomes really easy

It's nothing like Wraith who you can both hear and see much more easily, and has a clear audio cue and uncloak time. Jason could appear from perhaps 2 or 3 locations nearby, appears almost instantly and has a very fast movement speed when appearing, and a projectile.

but wraith can literally be right on you. jason is a bit more limited and if there is grass around its a hint and if i think hes on me the second i hear the very start of the notification prior to the actual notification im on the move and youll be farther away than wraith would be on a smart uncloak especially as wraith can literally body block you

First off, let me say I'm grateful that BHVR made it so players are now guaranteed an anniversary offering in every level of the bloodweb. Even if the static nature of the offerings still leaves something to be desired compared to year 8 and before, that was a wonderful change. However, there's one issue: P100 bloodwebs.

I like to stock up on enough offerings to last me throughout the year on all the characters I play regularly, but—to be dramatic—it feels like I'm being punished for having several characters at P100. To get 50 anniversary offerings on characters who aren't P100, you only need to spend around 1.05 million bloodpoints. For characters who are, you need to spend almost double that amount, which makes the grind a lot more tiresome.

In future years, if the static nature of anniversary offerings remains, I'd like to suggest that there be 2 guaranteed offerings in a level 50 bloodweb as opposed to just 1, just to ease the grind for players who have dedicated a lot of time and bloodpoints to their favourite characters.

wouldnt it make sense to grind cakes and bloodpoints on characters that have progression needed? i assume on a p100 you dont need any more perks and dont have an item or ad on shortage

  • im not against the charms, add em and use em if they want to but whats really the point of adding those? designing and investing money to design and release trinkets so incredibly niche as to who would find those appealing and find them important enough to slap on a hook or character model doesnt really seem to be worth the investment or have much point.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
