No we aren't It is completely possible to do this without fundamentally changing the core base of the game.
so you claim.
you may have an idea. an idea is unproven and just because you think the idea is good and can properly work does not mean it does. when designing games there are many things that are tested and then found out not to be workable in game design. Im sure behavior has tried a variety of things internally and thus do not implement them.

The problem is the devs continue to try to deal with these strategies by punishing killers rather than doing what they need to do.
What they need to do is to reward healthy play (on both sides btw), and just make the unhealthy play fundamentally impossible to do instead of punishing it, while creating new mechanics for people to engage with. You don't need to punish tunneling if it literally cannot exist.
yea and then we are talking about a different game altogether and i do not think that is possible to be done here.

Having a win rate stat would require them actually defining what a win is, which they have never done. I don't think they want to risk hurting a player's feelings by reveling to them a low win rate. They can't even tell us the Entity is displeased.

Where have they stated their official stance?
i could be imagining things but i feel like i remember several years ago a mod stating that the game considered wins to be above 2k, 2k a draw and less a loss. Perhaps for mmr reasons at the time.

It would be more fun if survivors stop t-bagging/clicking flashlights at gates and say GG more often and not just when the killer lost.
Personally I have always said ggs.
most people dont have chat because they are on console or they keep chat closed. desiring that is not reasonable.
Nod back at them at gates or dont go to gates. them doing that is only negative if you and them mutually decide its negative. otherwise its a nothing gesture that your just assuming the intent is to annoy you.
Most players i am quite confident are oblivious to made up dbd etiquette that we like to throw around in places like this
-
just play the game man, no matter what killer, power, perk or playstyle you pick someone will be upset as people are upset over every component of the game they play.
Posts like this are just kind of playground esque. you paid for the game. as long as your not harassing people and intentionally trying to annoy them, then play how you like. Eryone will have matches that go well or not. not the killers nor the survs job to make sure you have an easier match.
-
this isnt the appropriate place to discuss your suspensions. youll have to wait for support. yes it can take a while. we all know these kinds of claims tend to go. usually they are justified suspensions so good luck.

I thought it was pretty well agreed upon at LEAST for the killer side that more than a 2k is a win, less than a 2k is a loss and 2k is a tie.
as far as i am aware that is BHVRs official stance

I did but there's nothing good to talk about, it is easier to do tunneling on strong killers but it's required on weak killers and nerfing tunneling will not do anything to the strong killers but make it only worse for weak killers.
as a big trapper fan and someone whos played him through all stages of the game, you dont need to hard tunnel with him or even have gen regression. you need good fundamental dbd and game sense on how to utilise traps. plus his iris and a couple of the purple addons do a good job making up most of his deficiencies. he does need some small changes but as long as im not going against people who are just generally much better than me or highly coordinated to make my traps useless, you can win many many games with trapper. there are lots of perks that work well with him.
And i generally play weak to mid tier killers. i dont play blight or nurse or ghoul.
I win all the time. Not all the time, but lots of it.
-
that would be one of the most obnoxious mechanics to deal with in the history of dbd
-
Super hot take: corrupt intervention is over rated and ends up being a waste of a perk slot
rusty shackles is my favorite addon for her, it makes her very useable and i perform well with it, but the bloodweb is stingy with that one.
i find moniter and abuse a strange recommendation. why do you like that one?

Even though I hate hag she does need some kind of buff, but I think just slapping 4.6 on her probably isn't it. Even with her being 4.4, a hag that has her teleport bound to scroll wheel will teleport instantaneously, sometimes so fast that it's impossible to not get hit. As of now her only effective counterplay is to trigger her traps, not to manually wipe them away because it takes way too long unless you need to be stealthy. Personally I saw a suggestion before that Hag should be able to place down two different types of traps: her collision traps from her addon, and regular teleport traps. I think that would make Hag a bit more versatile. You could also increase her trap setting speed and her teleport range.
in my experience, if a survivor continues moving in the same direction they were moving when triggering the trap in a normal reaction to be able to tp especially if you are kicking a gen or swinging at another surv or whatever and you tp, because hag has no momentum after a tp and the surv does as long as they dont react to the BWAAAAA you are not very likely to get a hit. I feel like she could use a super small basekit speed to allow a tiny bit of breathing room to try a chase for more than a few seconds OR that if you are moving when you tp you preserve the momentum after the tp and then keep 4.4.
Im sorry you hate hag though, i get it, but i love trap based kits for characters so hag and trapper have a special place in my heart.
I would happily take like a basekit 12.5% range increase too

Almost every match? I've played plenty of killer and I don't even know if I've ever ran into a team with more than 2 Shoulders. I've never run into a team of Shoulder's with OP toolboxes
i almost never see it. it may have been in play and i didnt notice the yellow coloring (i dont tend to pay much attention to hook stages) but i can only recall 2 matches i have ever seen shoulder be used and i play quite a bit.
So maybe because i havnt experienced it, i struggle to understand how its that big of a deal. i can see how in situations it can come in handy which is what its purpose is for but its still a hookstate on a surv is is now on stage 2 or death hook. I suppose a 4 man all running it would be rough maybe but they are still collecting stages.

I suffered with this quite hard in 2020/2021, after years of playing it all suddenly hit up until 2025-ish. I'd be playing my absolute best to win, took it as a personal failure if I lost, and overall while I still called myself a killer main there would be a lot more occasions of me opening the game, sitting in the lobby, deciding I didn't want to do it today (and didn't want to touch solo queue with a 10m pole) and closed dbd to play something else. It was at its worse easily in 2022/2023.
But at some point it all just clicked that none of this… matters? DBD is a video game, and it's a video game I care a lot about, and it's a video game I've put a lot of time and effort into getting good at, but it stays a game. I have a life, I have a job, I have people beyond the screen; who actually is going to care if I don't 4k every game? People telling me to jump used to affect me really badly, and now I just feel sorry for them, because I remember what it was like to care this much about a game. Who cares if you get called a sweat by someone you've never met, and will never meet again?
I appreciate this sounds like I'm saying "just grow a pair" in flowery language, so let me clarify I don't just mean to toughen up or anything. But the thing that helped me was realising that it just genuinely did not matter. I'll do more in my life than anyone who sits behind a screen all day insulting people and you can too.
DBD is just a video game. The other people are just playing a video game. There's no real stakes, there's no life or death situation, your family aren't at risk if someone calls you a tryhard; so honestly, who cares what they think?
i agree with this. its this year myself that i have been able to change my perspective after playing for 10 years and getting very upset when i have tough games or losing.
i know it sounds silly but it is just a game and none of that matters. idk how long youve played but youve no doubt won dozens of games. how many of them do you actually remember?
how many of your losses do you actually remember? not much right?
When a survivor is undownable just realise "does this actually matter enough to get emotionally invested into"?
and one thing ive found is, if im not tilted, i play far far better. and when i dont feel like my self worth is tied to whether i won game number 5, then even when i have been obliterated i am still having a fun time in the match because why am i only allowed to have fun if i win?
if i recognise that i am outmatched, i make an active decision to make winning not what im interested in doing and instead its to just chill, play the game and see if i can have some fun moments with survs.
when i have been outmatched ill try to indicate to a surv to stick at a loop and keep doing that pallet or whatever so that i can practice that loop against someone who is running it better than i can run it.
yes, all the gens are going to go, yes im going to lose the game. and i have lost ALOOOOOOT of games doing this. but because i wasnt trying to win, and i made an active effort to reaffirm that winning or losing doesnt matter(it genuinly doesnt even if we FEEL it does)
the weird reality is this. when i started using huntress and actually learning her, if i had played in my older ways of getting mad because i got stunned or blinded or lost 2 gens on a chase or had a 4 man out i would be crap at huntress right now.
When i played huntress and i did nothing in game but m2 and refused to m1 under any circumstance even if it lost me the game and me getting a surv to undertsand im not wanting to down you so much as run loops with you so i can practice has led to me having a pretty vicious huntress now when i do put some effort in.
every game i lose is just gonna lead to another game i win.
and who cares if a surv tbagged? i used to get so worked up over that. now i undertsnad that a tbag is just the surv not making distance and if its in end gate and they are tbagging, its only an issue if you let it be.
a tbag is just an animation. it only MEANS something if YOU decide that you should be upset over the animation. and that silly to get mad over an animation. the animation doesnt DO anything so why should i get mad?
We as players and humans have to understand when we should respect our emotions and negative feelings. its not healthy or very reasonable to get as upset as we do at many of the things in game but we do. but its on us as humans if we want to grow to recognise when you are letting unhealthy emotions rule over you. and the dbd community is rife with that.
I used to contantly launch the game, look at the killer roster and then close the game.
Now, im having fun in my games whether im having 4k noob stomp(i dont find noob stomping fun, i do like some challenge) or getting bent over and spanked by a team of juicers.
and i know it seems like the "just dont care" talking point but i guess the thing is is that its just correct. stop caring so much about your own performance. stop caring if the survs whine about how you played. those are people who also just get tilted over everything and their opinions dont matter. play the game you paid for. its a game, not a job
-
behavior didnt make dbd mobile. they contracted netease to make it. behavior has no capacity to develop 2 different games at the same time(a mobile port is so vastly different from a console/pc version that they are 2 different games and you would a need a different studio to do that. its not coming back, im certain of it
-
I play both roles but prefer killer. I was very worried about pallet density initially but after playing and adjusting, i cant say i even notice pallets all that much as far as being any different than others. there are definitely matches where it seems a bit circus like with how many there are but considering 80% of survs just stand on the other side of the pallet to blind you, they arent really gaining any meaningful distance.
throw on brutal strength, enduring and spirit fury and enjoy how useless pallets become
-
i cant wait for aces to demand i do unintelligent plays with pings and then throwing a tantrum because im going to do what i know to be the smart play.
The chat wheel will be nice, but i doubt its usefullness will be as high as the fantasy is. people do not effectively use what they have already and alot of people think they are better at the game then they are and its just going to be alot of egos demanding others do what they want them to do.
ill utilize the wheel from time to time, but at the end of the day, your chat ping is unlikely to make me do something specific as i probably know a smarter move to make then you demanding you get healed under hook 10 feet away from the killer
-
i dont want perks showing in lobby, but i would like some point in time to have like 10 seconds to be able to view what perks are in play so im not having to take precious seconds at the start of the match to read perk descriptions. tho tbf i rarely care about other peoples perks.
-
playing against any killer over and over again can be miserable. The First is just fine and doesnt need to be nerfed just because you dont like you have played against him more often recently.
-
lightborn is not a problem. and you should not feel entitled to be able to blinfd killers over and over again. just as getting slugged over and over isnt fun, getting blinded over and over again isnt fun and right now there is a massive flashlight meta in my servers where its extremnely common right now to have 3 surv flashlights in a lobby and their entire focus is just to try and blind over and over. i do not find that enjoyable as well as it is uncomfotrable to my eyes. Now i rarely use LB as i have preferred perk builds and i have played the game for a long time so i can manage ok with them but flashlights are not a CORE part of the game. they are completely optional and the game runs fine without them. core mechanics are things like pallets and hooks and scratch marks and suchm those are core mechanics of the game.
I think its wild to feel you should just be guaranteed to make not slugging survivors as annoying as possible because thats what excessive flashlights do, they just encourage slugging.
So if you have some games where you have to play the game beyond follow another surv being chased all game so you can try and blind and not actually have spent your time progressing a gen instead, youll have another one where you can blind the killer as much as you like

I mean what I was saying though is that more than half the killers in the game make pallets weaker with their powers, whether with dashes, projectiles, teleports, traps, etc. Every killer needs something to help them in chase, otherwise they would end up like Trapper with no traps, or Legion trying to get a down.
i understand, i am not arguing in such a way that i disagree with your statement if thats what it seems like. I am just stating that survivor mains tend not to like powers that can play around or weaken pallets and thus most of the killers that can make pallets weaker tend to be viewed negatively by players
-
i second this. blinds would be far less irritating to me if in my dark room and dark map i dont have a flashbang in my eyes. my eyes are sensitive to light so if the rest of my room is dark, blinds can be mildly painful to me.
i would much prefer a darker option. it would be far more comftorable.

Yeah because getting off hook and immediately chased by a nurse while already missing a health state when you don't have second chance perks is always a skill issue and not because its the strongest killer in the game bullying someone out so the rest of the game is free for them.
not sure where bullying applies with the example you provided. there are a couple free second chance perks everyone has access to and large chunk of the playerbase have lots of other ones. not the killers fault you didnt equip a perk for counterplay. if your running into this that much then why wouldnt you have the counterplay perks equipped?
thgat does sound like a skill issue if your not adapting. but it does make sense to not have second chance perks equipped when the reality is your not hard tunneled as often as claimed.
and i dont see survivors not doing gens when the killer is way behind. I assume its the same for you.
you join an elimination game in a match that lasts 10 minutes or less typically then i dont see the point of whining because you or your team couldnt avoid or punish a tunnel and you got eliminated.
and yes in an elimination game, the more people that are eliminated the stronger the other team becomes. you are correct about that. therefore it makes sense that in an elimination game you wouldnt go "hurr durr dont eliminate me, your not allowed to eliminate me until ive fulfilled my arbitrary quota of fun in this match even if that puts the game state in a bad spot for you"
hard tunneling only leads to victory if there is a huge mismatch(which means youve lost anyays) or your team is playing poorly and not touching gens and playing right into it.
Thats why i only tunnel in situations where i feel its required to get the game back in control as i understand the game well enough to play far better if im not hyperfocused on one person.
but at the end of the day, if you are so bad at the game you constantly get eliminated early in the game thats usually a you/your team issue.

There are already a billion killers that make many pallets unsafe, and Nurse already completely ignores them. Personally I think a killer with a power centered around pallets might be unique, the closest thing we have to that is Freddy with his fake pallets. I think unique killers is something we really need, especially after Jason was basically just 5 killers in one. Thankfully the Judgement is pretty unique and that should come out tomorrow
im not against a killer that makes pallets part of its kit but it would still be wholly despised by surv mains as they tend not to like anything that can bypass or weaken pallet loops in any way.
I would love very unique killers and more things that dont just devolve to run in a circle around a rock over and over. the community is just very sensitive to changes like this is all im saying
-
survivors will never tolerate a killer who makes pallets unsafe in any way. they need to be fairly reliable for them safety wise as its the main protection they have
-
if you get tunneled out at 5 gens, you are either really bad at the game (and there is no rule or expectation beyond entitlement to demand you have a certain amount of guarenteed time in the match in an elimination game and just need to get better if you go down so fast and/or your team is all bad at the game and not touching gens whatsoever or being rpoductive. )there is no way you should be on death hook at 5 gens. thjere should (well should just referencing the reality) be 1 -2 gens popping before the first hook in most games if your teams actually playing the game right.
i know that being quickly eliminated in every other game isnt fun either but its an elimination game and i feel its a bit childish(in general not saying you are childish) to demand that in an elimination game your not allowed to be eliminated until X point and thing has happened.
matches go for 7-10 minutes. sorry but you need to be eliminated, not all teams decide not to touch a gen the entire time someone is able to be 2 or 3 hooked and killers dont have the luxury of knowing ahead of time if its a group of survs who dont know how to press m1 when they spawn next to a gen or survivors who do actually know how to play the game and can finish a gen before the killers even gotten their first chase.
at the end of the day 2 opposing teams are trying to beat the other and not liking that one team employs a strategy with which there is a plethora of tools to asisst with and ignore how your own team allowed you to be in that situation invalidates any real complaint about being tunneled at 5 gens.

I don't need an official source to say that a common sentiment among players is that 2v8 has gotten stale because they haven't added anything in it 4 iterations. What do I need my own article or big dbd YouTuber to share a general opinion? No your being ridiculous I'm not lying your just being weird about this.
ok you stated something as fact and said the majority of people think and feel a certain way.
now its just the common view. common view doesnt nescessarily mean majority either and its not based on anything but you seeing some forum or reddit posts here and there which is a minority of posts on this forum, steam forum and reddit(those are 3 i read though reddit is less) and 2v8 being stale is not what most people chat on. some people may talk about wanting more content in it but typically when people are complaining its about how favored it is to one side or the other or the que times.
So no, there is no evidence that your claim is right. you are taking your own personal view and imposing it on the playerbase at large because you have seen a few posts that echo your own sentiments.

The numbers speak for themselves, not kill rates, not escape rates, actually the ratio of people queueing for killer vs survivor.
im not of the opinion that killer is horrible to play but a novelty mode that is very different from the regualr experience can be popular even if the role wasnt in great shape for the regular mode. an unbalanced casual heavily modified mode being popular has no bearing on whether the very different mode and experience of killer is in a good state.
this argument is not a good one and im suprised even biased people would try and use this one.

I want to hear from people who have a balanced perspective from both sides to minimize bias and try to understand if my viewpoint is an outlier or if others feel the same way that the killer vs survivor balance really hasn’t changed much recently which is why it’s puzzling that the killer queue times have all of a sudden increased significantlyafter reading my message, i can see an issue with how i was communicating. the way i wrote my last sentence seemed insulting to you and i wasnt trying to insult you. and i also failed as i do quite often to make it clear i was talking generally and not pointed to you. im trying to catch myself doing that but when i first write it i am only seeing things in how i see it and dont see how it comes off. Behaviour almost certainly makes most of their money off of the purchase of licensed killers. Of the five most played survivors only Lara is licensed, the top 4 are all free and account for around 27% of survivors played, all with free cosmetics so long as you save up the iri shards. In high mmr none of the top 5 are licensed (mostly noting because these players are more likely to play more and spend more money). Meanwhile, three of the most played killers are licensed and if you want other skins for them you have no option but to pay real money, this becomes 4 of the most played killers for high mmr (15% broad, 22.3% high). I'm not agreeing that behaviour hates survivors but no one has any real evidence for who spends the most money but I would bet its killer and killer cosmetic purchases.
i cant argue one way or another which part makes the most money, nor does it matter to me. but i feel pretty confident that survivor purchases is not an ignorable quantity for behavior even if it was only half of whatever revenue killers brought in.
Behavior isnt going to go "killers make the most money so we will only focus on that group and not capitilize on the smaller but still significant market"
They are a buisiness, that has to spend alot of money each year to sustain itself. it does not make any buisiness sense for them to not want both player groups to have a good time and so BOTH survivors and killers spend money because if you take away whoever has the smallest cosmetic and character purchases, behaviors revenue and profitibality would likely be in peril. I doubt new game sales are significant enough this far in to its life to sustain its size on its own though i could also be quite wrong.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WXYTNQWSOWL9/1000002444.jpg
This was taken 2 weeks ago. Theres been no change to balance since it was taken. Events toss a wrench into queue times in general and they also normally fluctuate based off the time of day. Blaming queue times off balance issues would lead one to assume the game goes through vast balance changes everyday between noon and midnight.
i was talking about que times, not suffering or misery. i didnt complain about it just stated it. why did you just do what you did?

Thats because it's mainly a hit and run mode, the gens are a huge give away as are lanterns, if someone uses a lantern that's your tracking you can see it through walls coz of the SSR (screen space reflections).
the mode snowballs quick for killer and for survivor, I see it's only "Bad" for people trying to play normal DBD in the mode. Nobody is interested in the horror experience of the jumpscares while playing casually etc, coz they are numb to dbd as they play it WAYYYY too often, it's not catered to them, more people need to realise this.
People have been enjoying this iteration, I don't think every mode should be catered to the core DBD players who hate changes. My friends and I had a blast, and I really enjoyed playing killer too last week.while i think they went too far with what they gave syrvs, if anything i would rather they have kept woo and lantersns and gen speed and all but without making it impossible to hear injured sounds to even try and have a facade of a chase (i dont play the killers survs have been complaining about) and showing the gen aura to survs if you already have the sound to help you.
im not really bothered by a free 5 percent but if you have free gen aura for the entire game the 5 percent was kind of unnescecary.
i didnt care for the mode because i didnt feel like a killer or a hunter because i felt even more incapacitated than the survs did.
survs have way better visibility than the killers do and i refuse to use reshades or manipulating the lighting to be different than intended and my moniter has vivid blacks so the dark is reeeeally dark so the second a surv moves past that veil of black they are almost always just gone because i have absolutely no way to be able to figure out where they went unless they had a lantern.
I would have felt better about feeling so limited if i felt it was even. but it wasnt so i only played it for a day and went to regular.
DS was pretty good once i realized to m1 first and then spear and it was very useful in keeping survs close enough to actually chase

I find it abit odd that people are getting this stressed out on 2v8 specifically. When I play it, I typically check out the DBD discord, find a killer buddy to chat with and have a more relaxing time than if im playing alone in 1v4. Consoles have access to discord too so unless your on Switch... Theres no reason everyone cant do the voice chat thing.
because the people who are playing 2v8 are the same who play every other day and so they still feel the same way about every single game behavior even though the game evironment is significantly different.

you just gotta realize you exist for other people's enjoyment in 2v8 unless you want to play extremely nasty.
I play so mean in 2v8 unlike 1v4 I almost feel bad the way it forces me to play but hey, I'm entitled to a 1k
2v8s only 1 week id recommend sitting it out
i mean how do you play nasty in 2v8 really? you have no real way of knowing who you had last hooked. which one of you 3 bills was it? nor are you going to know who your team mate just did and you have alot going on and 2v8 is very fast paced. down who you down. there is no too fast of an elimination, survs have plenty in their kit to resist.
and if they unhook in front of you, well thats a survivor misplay isnt it? and whos fault is it that the misplay happened and now someones in prime position to be eliminated?
ive been told ive been camping survs in 2v8 when i had no idea who they were or even notice the hooks i pass by when im searching or chasing lol.
if you feel bad about winning, they feel better about losing.

Just saying killer toxicity through griefing by tunneling slugging and camping are the main reasons for the survivor toxicity. Of course not 100% but still it creates the most. If you dont report the toxicity from the killers to bhvr how else are they supposed to know its an issue. Especially when 95% of the game someone is being griefed by killers with these tactics. How else can we report killer toxicity on this end to get another possible solution to the killer griefing by these tactics
because slugging and tunneling literally isnt griefing. you would have to have more going on than that for it to be reportable.

They haven't heard the good word of "The Killer Handbook", by survivors?
unfortunately they have not been found by the missionaries yet

This is always such a weak argument.
"There's a cheap, unfun tactic in the game. I'm going to paraphrase the devs and say it's intended to justify my use of it."
one of the most frustrating and fallacious tactics people use in discussions is what you just did.
If you defend or pushback on an argument for X reasons you must do so because you do the very thing and want to justify that.
your not being conducive to actual mature conversation.
if you want to have a real conversation even under disagreement then have one. but what you did is annoying and demonstartes an unwillingness to have honest genuine disccusions but reframe opposition to your positions in a way that pushes your narrative or can dismiss anothers views.
so lets make it clear. i am not a tunneler or slugger except for the cases where it makes sense. i dont need to nor is it the type of playstyle i utilise with my killers (or find thrilling)with the exception of twins because they are built to slug a little.
nor do i slug for 4ks unless the 4th was right by me when i downed the 3rd.
and yet you decided to make an assumption on how i play because youd rather it fit your desired narrative than on the actual topic at hand.
ive made no statement or claim that slugging or tunneling are something you should find fun but the way people act the find nothing fun in this game, there is not a single mechanic in this game that doesnt have everyone complaining over it.
youll just need to get over it. get constructive feedback and inform the devs you like or dislike something but this game does have a design personality to it and tunneling and slugging are part of that.
it objetively does not matter that you dont like it or i like it, thats still how the game is designed and its clearly a fine way to play the game as the people who made the product have stated many times. though of course if every game is tunneling or whatever then they would want to disersify the game behaviors people are doing.
all that will ever happen is some of the most annoying methods both roles can do can get mitigated eventually, but the tbagging, slugging, dc, that stuff is here to stay

they literally are unable to add that system to dbd. it will need to come with the engine overhaul planned for next year
