This is also why I would prefer for the DC penalty to be removed, so we can get a bot instead of an idle player. But we already know they're not going to remove the penalty, so that's a moot point.

they 100% shouldnt remove the penalty.

encouraging crybaby behavior is 100% not good for the game experience for either role.

We're not talking about the people who missed the skill checks on the hook. We're talking about the people who stand idle after being unhooked.

if you decided to go afk mid match thats on you, you are not innocent. sure, maybe something happened that pulled you away from it, but you did que up for a commitment and its on you, not the game if you cant maintain that commitment. and if your doing it regularly then you absolutely arent innocent. it obviously wouldnt be penalized on just 1 occurance, just like DCs arent punished for a 1 off

  • i dont think the forum needs to be filled with threads clearly meant to ragebait and not an actual discussion.

  • I dont think trapper should be out on killing sprees while tripping balls on mushrooms.

    just my opinion.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

What kind of punishment would you propose? And how can you ensure that innocent players won't get caught up in it?

presumably innocent players dont avoid hitting skill checks on stage 2.

i have no opinion on punishment, i dont meet throwing players too much. its annoying when they do though. had a doctor game recently where 2 survs insta dced and so left the other 2 guys against bots. now the bots actually played like an average survivor and kept me running loops longer than i expected but im also an average killer and ultimately they lost because bots cant deal with meta knowledge the way a player can.

or sometimes a survivor just lets me or someone else bleed out on hook while not doing gens to justify doing so

  • killers that you cant just hold w on for half the map arent well liked typically

    in Jason Comment by HexSlugged
  • there are 100% cheaters but there are also a ton of various "cheat" perks that will make it look like someone cheating when they arent. half the perks in the game are wall hacks and speed adjusting. and you dont need a A or S tier to win games, they are just easier to do it with. i doubt you understand yet how to mind game right or run paths on various tiles. When you do learn this, you will get more kills and downs.

But when your newer to the game like this and dont yet have the game sense people with much more hours people who do have better game sense will make things harder for you.

most players are soloq. most swfs arent sweating on discord. and assuming you mostly getting matches in your skill bracket then your not playing with the problem swfs.

this game community is 90% unhinged irrational and flat out false opinion and view on both groups. dont let all the nonsense people spew inform to you what the reality is.

this game absolutely has problem points, but you can win tons of games as killer or survivor and lose a ton.

this game on the surface may seem simple but there are tons of macro and game knowledge that you just wont have yet at this time. and for now that will make things feel impossible that really arent.

ignore game chat because it has literally no added value to the game. survs will only ever gg when they escape, never if you win and any end game chat will almost always be insults. theres no reason to use it.

I don't care about this class at all, I never use it myself, but there has to be incentives to make people play survivor in this mode. Killer seems to be doing just fine, judging by the queues.

i mean, you only need 2 vs 8 so literally any percentage of the playerbase higher than 20% that want to play killer will cause a que time

  • i have no desire to play dbd fortnite edition so i will take a m1 jason 100% over the time over a disney character.

and friday the 13th game having him teleport a bit really isnt that unique of an idea. having him have a telortation ability here or a version of it isnt copying another game, it is taking the exact same inference the films themselves give that the friday game also used.

you also can take creative liberties as long as it stays accurate to what seems inferrable or reasonable from the character.

Gameplay and mechanics are important, but i dont care how good the mechanics are, i dont play dbd to try and escape mickey mouse.

  • "meta pick" there are like 6 killers to choose from in 2v8 lol

nurse and blight are unplayable for half the players as well

BHVR can literally contact Steam about this issue and there is a team dedicated to helping with those issues, VAC or not. That's however on BHVR, and seeing how they've ignored it this long, it's for a reason.

they can issue a game ban but again other than banning you from playing dbd it has zero impact on playing other games. Steam will not issue out VAC bans for non VAC protected games (valve games) nor will ban you from playing a multiplayer game that isnt the game you got banned in.

You can get banned in dbd on steam and then play every other multiplayer game on steam. there is no bhvr contacting steam that will change that.

fog vials are kinda weak imo, only really work against baby killers, unless ur on a tight indoor map

they arent that strong true, but more fun to me than flashlight and toolboxes. timing on fog vials is important. you want to drop it before a survivor is in the radius because then it fully blocks the view. if you do it within the range of the killer than youll lose the value

no piss bottle clown? but still i love playing Clown and really wanna buy Houndmaster

i definitely recommend her. the dog is buggy and that will be frustrating but largely it works fine and its really useful to corral survivors or to see if its even worth heading over to the other side of a map for a gen and it almost always pushes people off the gen when they are on one. her voicelines are really good too

  • i rotate killers alot so no main per se but if i had to choose it would be between hound master and clown.

Hound master is to me the most satisfying to play and with my hex builds having my dog eat every surv on the map is very fun.

Clown for whatever reason is my best performing killer but im not super sure why. I NEVER use his haste bottles either, only the toxins. i find the antidote bottles to be completely pointless and too risky for potentially speeding up the survivor as well.

purple bottles all day every day.

trapper used to be my main but these days his traps feel useless and your likely to only get 1 or 2 traps a game with them on the other side of the map from you and you lose so much time trying to grab traps in useless locations that as appealing as trap killers are, the current speed of the game doesnt support their existence these days.

  • @Rapid99 said:

It used to be but the dev team decided to remove the thing that made it useful (removing charges from items) because they were either too lazy or couldn't figure out how to make it work with fog vials. So they just butchered basically the only counterplay killers have to items instead of just… not putting in a new item, no one uses anyway.

Like seriously I haven't seen a single usage of fog vial since coming back to this game.

And they have yet to revert it.

the only items i use are medkits and fog vials, i love fog vials as i like to avoid chase and be stealthy

Unfortunately, it's where a lot of the cheaters come from, since Steam has VAC bans and losing your account permanently as a consequence of cheating, it's a little less on the other side. When it does happen on Steam, its usually a hacked account, which is sad enough on its own.

I imagine if they were forced to do something so extreme, it would not last forever. However, it would give them time to actually address the issue at its core (with Epic) and stop impacting the community in a negative way. It's why I perfer cutting off the money generating source, instead of what they're doing now, just waiting for disgruntled reports. Meanwhile, the monetized channels broadcasting live on Tik Tok and Youtube are still freely cheating through the many free and paid Epic accounts they have collected and promoting it as such.

i havnt logged in for a while so sorry for late response. dbd is not vac protected. getting banned in dbd on steam only blocks you from playing dbd on steam, it has zero impacts on the rest of steam or online games.

I get it, it just upsets me. It’s such a good opportunity for her to be the face of it.

Skull Merchant is getting a new outfit and she less played than Houndmaster. She’s also in bad condition right now too. 😭

Like why her over my girl Portia.

I’ve been seeing more Houndmasters recently which has been refreshing. Slowly her bugs are getting fixed so that’s good.

that i am grateful for, i do hope they get around to fixing 3 issues with her.

1 make it easier to get your dog to target a gen, its so finicky and you often lose 2-5 seconds trying to target a gen.

    2. Sometimes snuff decides to take half the match to get back to your side and your locked out of your power when you should have it available.

    3. while i think by and large he responds the way you need it to, its not very fun when he faceplants a pallet instead jumping over it or gets stuck on a ledge you know hes capable of leaping down especially when hes lept off ledges far far higher.

But Hound Master is my favorite killer, just something about her is incredibly appealing to me in a way no other killer has grabbed me and her voicelines at the start of the match always get me hyped up.

Ive only ever gotten to play against her twice sadly and i think the talk about her bugs discourages people from trying her, but while when the bugs happen they sure do suck, she generally operates correctly and i feel is a very unique killer.

I just want people to play more than wesker and the female trickster which seems to be 50% of my games currently.

  • sadly, i think they dont want to put work into her with her being so unpopular. but she literally has a dog thats literally the focus of her. She should be the face of the collection. I will say, in my opinion i think she already has some of the best cosmetics in the game.

This is not just aimed at you directly but at any killer who plays as a "Nice-Killer" sometimes referred to as a "Benevolent-Killer"

I don't understand why they/you are surprised when you dont receive thanks. Noobs actually wont know the difference, so if you are playing them forget it and MM throws a whole mix at you these days. If they are experienced they are quite likely more

    annoyed than anything.

Perhaps stop trying to control the game in a way that was not intended, and play the game as intended. Some survivors actually hate "Nice" killers. Some people play for a challenge, not a free ride. For e.g. If you dont hook anyone, how can anyone do a rescue? (and thats just one example).

If you sign up to be a killer, then be a killer; otherwise, if you want to be nice to survivors, be a survivor. It makes no sense to be a nice killer. It's an oxymoron, "Nice-Killer" in fact, if you truly want to be nice, play as intended, then just let everyone go. There seems to be quite a trend since the last blood moon event, for the killer to hook everyone twice each, then let them go, when this happens, It's pretty obvious that it's the killer's intention.

You'll get the most respect from experienced survivors who you still managed to get two hooks each on without tunneling, without over-slugging (I am max one slug, pickup on second down), and without patrolling hooks. If you then let everyone go, you might get a few to drop their item at the gate or a slow-up/down cycle to say thanks before they leave. Console players can't chat at all, so don't expect them to say anything. The others will probably just say GG <3 and move on.

Being a nice killer (if it's not annoying to the survivor) at best is just an ordinary thing; it's not like you are a volunteer firefighter and rescuing babies from burning buildings lol.

You're in a game of horror and trying to be a "Nice-Killer", I worry your expectations of thanks might be a little high. Instead, try to be a "Good-Killer," and then, if you really want to, let everyone go. But whatever you do, dont just try to be a killer and hang with the survivors, it's not really "fun & engaging" after it happens hundreds of times (like it has for me). it kind of ruins the scaryness that many enjoy. For e.g., lately I keep getting ghosties that just hang out with survivors, they just bob up and down like that's their entire goal, to get everyone else doing it with them. Because I'm not interested in that, I just go do gens, I do them quickly, open the gate, and leave. How dull?! There's no challenge, no adrenaline, no thinking (other than wondering "WHY?!")

In the end, some will thank you, most wont. I mean, most people probably think it's more about you than them, sooo….. be strong and carry on <3

P.S. Set goals that please you without needing acknowledgment from anyone else and you will be a happier gamer.

    This is me having fun:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XN6PC27K378T/embrace-the-magic.png

i also enjoy having snuff rip the limbs off all the little rats i smell around the map.

Im there to kill, ill sometimes let someone escape if i stomped them all game or their own team mates werent being team mates to them or i want to avoid skyrocketing into mmr brackets where ill lose 2 gens before i land a single hit.

as survivor i hate playing against killers that are too night. the subtle niceness, such as leaving me be for a down if they just hooked me twice at start of game, but otherwise i and all other survivors are fair game. I dont want to que and load up to a game to have it completely wasted because kilelrs and survs just want to stare at each other and now i just have to sit on all the gens for no reason till i can leave without incurring a dc penalty.

  • I play on Epic games so i would rather them not remove crossplay. not everyone who plays on epic is cheating, i think its a bit unfair to isolate people just because they acquired or bough the game on a specific platform if its not for technical reasons.

  • Ghoul for me as i dont like anime and will likely cause me to never buy him.

I dont think a monster killer that "looks anime" is scary or appealing to me.

Yes I know is to avoid face camping but it doesn't avoid face camping thats because my solo teammates still will run to the hook get down and proceed to allow the face camping anyways so what's the point they keep adding mechanics that can be screw up by new players so easily, also there's no warning or text, only the bar that will tell my teammate that is blocking the bar too and for some reason they don't see the - bar so at least make the survivor be pushed away from the hook if it is downed or downed survivors will not count to blocking the bar progress since they cannot unhook on the ground anyways

thats a problem with your team mates, not the anti camp. the anti camp doesnt become something not working as intended just because your team mates play like a rock.

  • when people yell at me in end game chat, its just means i did my job right as killer or survivor

  • I typically dont pay attention to who im chasing at any time except for a mild awareness on trying to not kill someone too early unless i really think its needed to have a chance at winning, generally if you enter my FOV you are a valid target regardless of your hook stage or whatnot.

I will typically only ignore a player if they have been 2 hooked before the games progressed far and thus leaving 3 players on a 4 or 5 gen situation or if im aware the player is going to be hard in chase and waste my time or run loops i am not good at running, like shack or if im aware they are trying to pull me away from a particular area because if you dont want me to be at location X, then I probably want to be at location X.

  • Im a hound master simp so id lover her to be in 2v8 but boy i have a feeling adding her would cause the entire game to implode and wipe all the data from your pc with how buggy her dog is lol
