Huntress Main here (with the Facemelter Eddie cosmetic). It is too quiet, even for me (the killer). But it's not pay-to-win. Not if all you need to do to counter it is turn up your volume. But there's no question its too quiet. Waaaay too quiet. Someone should put in a Bug report. The trouble is, once they raise the volume, you watch how many people then complain it's too loud. Some will even say it's pay to win (because they lost) while it's too loud.lol

This is not just aimed at you directly but at any killer who plays as a "Nice-Killer" sometimes referred to as a "Benevolent-Killer"
I don't understand why they/you are surprised when you dont receive thanks. Noobs actually wont know the difference, so if you are playing them forget it and MM throws a whole mix at you these days. If they are experienced they are quite likely moreannoyed than anything.
Perhaps stop trying to control the game in a way that was not intended, and play the game as intended. Some survivors actually hate "Nice" killers. Some people play for a challenge, not a free ride. For e.g. If you dont hook anyone, how can anyone do a rescue? (and thats just one example). If you sign up to be a killer, then be a killer; otherwise, if you want to be nice to survivors, be a survivor. It makes no sense to be a nice killer. It's an oxymoron, "Nice-Killer" in fact, if you truly want to be nice, play as intended, then just let everyone go. There seems to be quite a trend since the last blood moon event, for the killer to hook everyone twice each, then let them go, when this happens, It's pretty obvious that it's the killer's intention.
You'll get the most respect from experienced survivors who you still managed to get two hooks each on without tunneling, without over-slugging (I am max one slug, pickup on second down), and without patrolling hooks. If you then let everyone go, you might get a few to drop their item at the gate or a slow-up/down cycle to say thanks before they leave. Console players can't chat at all, so don't expect them to say anything. The others will probably just say GG <3 and move on.
Being a nice killer (if it's not annoying to the survivor) at best is just an ordinary thing; it's not like you are a volunteer firefighter and rescuing babies from burning buildings lol.
You're in a game of horror and trying to be a "Nice-Killer", I worry your expectations of thanks might be a little high. Instead, try to be a "Good-Killer," and then, if you really want to, let everyone go. But whatever you do, dont just try to be a killer and hang with the survivors, it's not really "fun & engaging" after it happens hundreds of times (like it has for me). it kind of ruins the scaryness that many enjoy. For e.g., lately I keep getting ghosties that just hang out with survivors, they just bob up and down like that's their entire goal, to get everyone else doing it with them. Because I'm not interested in that, I just go do gens, I do them quickly, open the gate, and leave. How dull?! There's no challenge, no adrenaline, no thinking (other than wondering "WHY?!")In the end, some will thank you, most wont. I mean, most people probably think it's more about you than them, sooo….. be strong and carry on <3
P.S. Set goals that please you without needing acknowledgment from anyone else and you will be a happier gamer.
This is me having fun: -
yeah its rampant since the last update, the begining of the winter events. Just before choy made his video i was thinking theres alot more suspicious stuff going on. then after his video its like it triggered alot of people to go out and get cheats. YA KILLIN ME BHVR!!!! please consider TPM 2.0

can really tell how much they reward loyalty huh? I feel so important to them. I would do anything to defend this game <3

PSA…
Killers do tunnel. no doubt. but before you go abusing a killer for tunneling, how much attention where you paying to other peoples hook status.
I come acroiss many games where survivors dont seem to even notice they have a team mate on the hook. I see survivors going into the void, coming out of the void and starting a fresh generator all while a team mate is on the Hook. Sometimes, that survivor was hooked by me on their very first hook, and there they stay through all stages until sacrificed :/I also get accused from time to time of tunneling even though I didn't. I don't want to tunnel and I don't need to tunnel. I'm quite an experienced Killer Main (Huntress) 3300 hours. I certainly don't need or want to tunnel and yet I get accused of it every now and then.
This suggests that some survivors failed to notice the fact there was another survivor hooked in between their last hook. I admit, I can come back to you after hooking a differnt survivor awfully fast, but none the less it's not tunneling.
One other scenario where I suppose I do tunnel is where a survivor may have been the last one off of the hook, but I go to patrol a generator and the survivor does not run, they just continue working on the gernator as if now they have FULL IMMUNITY!!!! simply because they were the last one hooked. Under those circumstances I get annoyed and hook you anyway, because even though you are ignoring the killer, I will not ignore a survivor who is blatantly flouting any kind of ethical killing attitude (jesus that sounds like an oxymoron) I might be inclined to try to follow.
Another circumstance where I might tunnel you is if you were the last survivor to come off of a hook, but to save your team mate from being the next, you flash light stun me. I drop the survivor I was holding and come after you and successful down and hook you. im sorry but too bad. You do not have blanket immunity from the killer simply because you came last off of a hook. this is a ridiculous abuse of these un-written rules.
To try to make actualy hard limits by way of the developers implementing punishment's for the killer if they do tunnel under these kinds of circumstances will ultimately destroy the game.
We have to be careful not to give survivors immunity from being hooked simply because, and for no other reason that the fact they were the last person to be hooked. there has to be some caveats.
I am all for some implantation of measures to slow blatant and reckless Tunneling, camping and Multi-slugging & Long time Slugging.
But even with slugging, too many surviors cause their own slug fest and even though the killer picks them all up, then blame the killer for slugging. this is ridiculous logic if looked at reasonably. case and point: where groups of survivors seemingly crowd the kiler and stay near the killer as he/she downs the surviors. The survivors should be running/hiding, not acting like they have some kind of invisible forcefield around them in the form of an un-written "Thou shall not slug" rule set.
All's I am saying is can we all be reasonable when thinking about what is or is not appropriate in game, or are we all just trying to get things bent to our satisfaction for winning? Because if that's your goal you are going to destroy the game and then get bored with it. -
I fear alot of people are voting/commenting with extreme bias.
-
do you want us to go to each thread and vote seperately? Can you just do poll over all? or one of your survey doobalackies?
I love DBD, but I got too much going on right now to go to each seperate thread and vote. I will just say that on many maps there are excessive pallets especially the double pallets.
Im one of the people who turn this into a persoanl challenge, but I am a Killer main (Huntress) with 3300 Hours combined of which about 3000 is Huntress alone so I am kind of enjoying how difficult even baby survivors have become.
But I fear and worry for newer killers, they are going to be suffering terribly right now. The balance has tipped heavily in survivors favor in many areas at the higher MMR's (depending on Killer type and ability)
Good luck and be reasonable -
There is one benifit to survivors. When you (the Survivor) face a killer like me, you will be glad I can see how many times I have hooked you. this is especially true if you all decide to wear the same cosmetic. my brain power isnt that broad, so I dont bother counting with too much priority. However, im not mean and nasty, im not purely in it for myself and I do believe in helping beginners where I can. so, I will go on a rampage and try to hook you all twice each, then let you go unless I need sacrifices for a quest/challenge or desperately need the extra blood points or am entertaining my stream with Mori's. but under the old system, not having any guide to tell me how many times I have hooked each survivor I would sometimes sacrifice survivors accidently without meaning to. this happened even more when the survivors all looked the same (wore the same outfit). So I wrote myself a hook counter program that displayed the count number in a transparent window that was set to "always on top" I would press the number keys 1 to 4 corresponding to each survivor once every time I hooked a survivor. I did this to make sure I didnt over hook you. However, they threw a spanner in the works when survivors could swap a hook state with the perk "Shoulder the Burden" then I could easily sacrifice you even though I didnt want to. now, that wont be a problem. now I dont need my app anymore so that's cool. Hopefully now you will get a lot more killers letting you leave after they have hooked you all twice. GL HF

I can absolutely confirm this is a real issue. I too have experienced the hatchet hits not registreing damage to survivors. It actually was much worse earlier in the year, the it got better, basically it was fixed up untill about the end of 2V8 when it seemed to creep back in again (I notitce many reports complaining about this happening in 2V8). But I can confirm this happening recently in 1V4.
I am a content creator and I think I will make a full video report and presentation on this issue and one or two others. -
LOl, guys you need to stop immediately thinking that if you dont understand it then it must be a bug. this simply means the Killer was/could have been using "Lightborn Perk".
over 75% of the bug reports in here can be explained with mechanics the player doesnt understand or doesnt know about. Poor devs :/"Lightborn" Perk
Lightborn is a perk in Dead by Daylight that makes the killer immune to blinding effects from Flashlights, Firecrackers, Flashbangs, and Blast Mines, instead revealing the aura of any survivor who attempts to blind the killer for a duration of 6, 8, or 10 seconds, depending on the perk's tier. This provides a hard counter to flashlight saves and other blinding tactics, though some players argue it can hinder their ability to learn how to properly counter blinding techniques. How Lightborn Works
- Immunity to Blinds: You cannot be blinded by flashlights, firecrackers, flashbangs, or blast mines while the perk is active.
- Aura Revelation: If a survivor tries to blind you, their aura is revealed to you for a short period, allowing you to track them.
- Indication to Survivors: Survivors will see a visual and auditory cue, such as a special sound effect, that indicates they were unsuccessful in blinding you.
- Source: The perk was initially associated with The Hillbilly, and it is unlocked for other killers by prestiging The Hillbilly.

Hi, it's possible what you are reporting is a well known visual bug. However it's possibl it's a new bug. but ther eis a buug very simlar to yours that is well known across the community. if this happens to you again, consider trying to keep healing. DONT STOP. sometimes, the progress of healing is not shown, even though you are actually healing. but if you stop prematurely then you will never know. you must keep heling for longer, it's possible that the progress bar is just not showing progress but you are actually healing. This has been a long standing and well known bug amongst veteran players.

"On the hill with the large rock decorations, I couldn't find any points where it seemed possible to ascend into the air. I tried other maps with hills, but on maps other than Red Forest, the area behind the hills was elevated, and I couldn't find any points where climbing was possible."
Are you reporting a bug here? It sounds like you are reporting that you "Could not" repeat it. you post is confusing. At first it sounds like you are reporting a bug, then about half way through it sounds like reporting you couldn't find or repeat the bug. If you want to help eradicate bugs, you should trey to be more clear, detailed and not contradictory. you make more work for developers when they have to decode your message and figure out what you mean before even trying to discover what you are reporting. when writing bug reports, put yourself in a developers shoes, try to imagine what it's like to read your post. Make sure you dont assume the developers will have any idea what you are talking about. they are not all seeing, all knowing oracles. If they knew about all these things we report, then there would be no bugs to report.
You are suposed to have given "Step by Step" Instructions. that means something like this Hypothetical: (1) go to (here) on (X) map, in or near this position/object. (2) Face this direction/object, (3) press this button at the same time as doing this action (4) now do this action and Achieve this result. "This" (Here) and (X) are just place holders for what ever information you wanted to convey. your bug will never get addressed if the devs cant quickly and immediately identify what it is you are trying to convey. -
should be reset every update coz meta changes.

BHVR have all the info, they can see everything. Including the average wait time of a lobby
yeah I know they know. but weather they would tell us or agree with us is another story. Besides. I do what I do when I do what I do, just like you aparently. Is that your way of politely asking me not to post any more about it?
-
Im starting a new log for today. just incase BHVR wanted to say maybe its not true?!?! Do they do that?, I will record the queue and upload it to youtube. but Its probably going to make for one of the most boring videos on the internet.
-
Yeah, the killer wait times are very excessive. I beg, please increase what would be 250% to 350%. I have actually seen 350% momentarily 2 days ago. Bump everything up by 100%, please. so what would normally be 350% please make 450%. I hate playing survivor, but if you pay me enough I'll do it, just for the 2V8. Please, we are all begging you BHVR. I mean 1V4 is pretty long too. I have been logging my wait times into Google Sheets. see the images attached.
Then below is regular 1 V 4 killer wait times some of the entries have been clipped out of the screenshot.
Sorry if there is a way to hide images as spoilers, but I dont know how to do it.
