I'm mean that one survivor perk=killer ability. He should be 4,6 because it's one way for have good gameplay. Chucky can't do fast chase and can't control the map. There are one meme that his ability can be targeted by one window and de-facto useless. So, u talked that 5% it's small. 4.0 and 4,4 there are 5% dThe differencedifference. He is very weakweak. I dondon't need ever generator but I need speed for move in map , isn't it?

they would have to remove his stealth aspect to make him 4.6.

but as long as stelth is part of his kit his speed will presumably (idk if it would be too oppressive at 4.6 but im certain thats the design reason) be 4.4 not 4.6

no, its almost always a negative situation. you and tons of other people are just purposefully refusing to acknowledge that something obviously detrimental to gameplay is exactly that. the point I was making is that those mechanics currently are viable and sometimes are needed for killers in the current state of the game. but they're absolutely loathed mechanics. when a game features mechanics that literally nobody likes to deal with, then the game needs to change, and it needs to change so that the game is still fair for killers.

it is not a matter of me being tunneled every other game, its that someone is being tunneled nearly every game. admittedly slugging is less of a problem at large and more of a situational problem, also something survivors can more easily combat. but Tunneling, especially in Solo Queue is almost always the collapse of a game. MMR is and has always been janky and expecting a team to know how to play against tunneling never works out, even when it does the games are boring. it has to change.

in a competitive game no one likes to lose or to struggle and feel you ar at a disadvantage or that other people are playing better than you.

this game has always been designed with these features. this not hidden nor suprising. if you do not like this aspect of gameplay, go play a game where thats not part of the gameplay loop.

its not fun for killers to get destroyed in a match and its not fun for survivors to die super fast.

its part of the game. doesnt matter if you like it. the only thing that matters is to attempt to try and keep one specific playstyle from dominating match types (tunneling does not dominate match types in the na servers anyways, i cant speak for any other region but i find it doubtful)

its like going into a match of fortnight and thinking your entitled to not get killed in the first 30 seconds of the match. thats not fun but thats part of the game design regardless of whether you like being murked the second your feet touch the ground.

its the same with dbd, slugging and tunneling are intentionally allowed as part of the design and games identity even if you dont personally enjoy it. but thats what dbd is. yopu want the game to be something its not so that you can feel less bad about being eliminated quickly in an elimination game.

I really cant think of any other elimination game where the games playerbase is so adamant on not being eliminated first or for some arbitrary amount of time before you opponent is allowed to eliminate you.

ill never respect that perspective because its irrational.

TThe fact is that Yi's ability is weak and he doesn't The fact is that Yi's ability is weak and he cannot move through the generators. In fact, 4.4 without the ability

i mean all 4.4 killers are 4.4 when not using their ability. not sure what your trying to say.

wraith is built to be able to patroll the whole map and all generators pretty easy. thats part of how to play wraith. chucky isnt designed that way. you arent supposed to be able to control the map the same way or keep on top of all generators. i think your too focused on trying to use him in a way hes not meant to be used.

AI absolutely has its uses, it's simply when and where it should be applied. Specifically for these forums AI use isnt gonna get much sympathy

which is fine, i just dont like downvoting someone in a forum with people who all have to communicate in a language that many people do not speak natively. (i do i just have childish writing skills) for using a tool so they can communicate with everyone in the community more effectively instead of being left out because they dont know how to write in english or the message is just incoherent and hard to parse as is not uncommon to see.

  • im completely fine with more balanced landing spots, i would disagree that its killer sided. its survivor predictability on the map that gives a bit of an edge.

as killer i know which gens will be touched first and every loop someone is likely to want to take, because everyone makes the same decisions so i already know sometimes the next 3 moves a surv will make which allows it to be easier to gain control.

but without the predictability i think its a fine map, its definitely not favored for every killer but every single killer can win and can lose on this map, same as survs.

i would probably prefer some more variations in gen set up. i think its issue is that a killer can have no aura on gens and know where all the gens are as they are always in the same spot or in an adjacent one.

the nightclub gen and the 2 gens by shack will always be whats done first. always.

this decision on which gen to do i believe is the biggest pitfall for surv performance here if you think its sided heavily to killer.

  • I have not bought chucky, so i do not have personal experience with him but i have played almost every killer in the roster minus like 5 as well as all the other 4.4 and remamber that 4.4 and 4.6 is literally a 5% difference. if your 4.6 your only saving a couple seconds on a cross map transit as opposed to 4.4.

so if you have no map control i doubt its due to the character per se and more on how your playing the map/character.

you never need to control an entire map anyways and with slower killers or non mob, again your not supposed to try and control the whole map because thats now how the killer is meant to play.

wraith is meant to be able to control the whole map. wesker, springtrap ect.

trapper, clown, chuckie ect are not meant for that, they are a different style of killer (granted in my example clown can pmap control well with his haste bottles and good map

Clearly we have different stances on AI but hey thats why we come to the forums. To discuss

i have issues with ai when its used to be lazy like in video creation on youtube for exaple or to push out slop games with minimal effort.

I do not have an issue with people using AI tools to help them communicate better. I struggle with typing and can be hard to understand for people at times with how jumbled my thoughts can come out. if i were to use an AI tool to assist my communication, i am unsure that i should be derided for doing so.

  • most killers cant control the whole map nor are slower or stealth killers supposed to be able to do that, that for the mobility characters. they are not all supposed to be everywhere at once. in part, thats why chuckies footsteps exist in the first place

Like i said in my previous response the forums hate AI. So logically I assumed that would be the case for the downvotes. I did not discredit people downvoting because they didnt like the concept

sure, and my message is state its illogical to make that claim because it isnt based on anything substantive. Just an assumption. and an assumption even if ultimately true doesnt qualify making an objective statement.

and i presume people who struggle with english and many players arent native english speakers may use ai tools to be able to be understood when posting.

Now, i dont know what we have in play with the OP but i do not think its right to say he should be downvoted simply for using an AI tool assistant when writing something. just my view anyways

I mean, I dont disagree that DBD overall does not take the most skill. But this does not mean that the little skill which is needed should be removed. And this is just the case if we keep lose/lose-situations in the game. Because there is nothing the Survivor can do with old Scamper, they can either not drop the Pallet and get hit or drop the Pallet, Chucky scampers under it and then they get hit.

And it is not that this requires any effort from the Chucky player at all.

my issue with the skill talking point isnt really about chucky, its more broad. it sounds to me like the change was well deserved but i dont think i would make the argument about skill expression because if we justify what is or isnt allowed due to skill expression then we cant turn a blind eye to what doesnt cause skill which is most of the game.

or i can beat a surv at a loop but if im watching them throught eh wall to win the mindgame and get the down, it kind of takes away the skill aspect of achieving the down because both i and or the surv used game cheats or perks to escape or win the situation.

there are a few aspects of the game that skill expression does come out in some minor layers like looping but every layer is diluted and interferes with whatever skill is expressed and it can be impressive but at the end of the day all of us are playing with game legal cheats to make everything we do require less kill to accomplish, not more

I'm not sure what you are trying to get at. AI is heavily frowned upon on these forums. Could someone have down voted because they dont like the concept as well? Sure

you stated that it was downvoted by people because of X reason. no one other than potentially you has posted why they downvoted. so your making an assertion that other people who you do not know who, downvoted someone over a reason you can not verify is why.

  • @TorQueMoD said:

Am I alone in thinking it was terrible news to learn that Behavior is prioritzing another graphics update for future releases? The game looks fine, and we don't need worse performance in the future. Not to mention if you're updating all of the character models to be on par with Metahumans, does that mean you're going to re-design all of the outfits to match? What the heck for? I'd much rather more unique outfits and new maps and more content than a facelift. It just makes me think the devs don't understand what people play the game for. It's NOT cutting edge visuals, and I feel like it's going to be super deterimental in the long run.

because by essentially remaking the game they can create a better running and working game. this is an engine that most of the original devlopers are no longer involved with and this game is incredibly hard to work on with its limitations and rough code.

graphics obviously part of it, but its really about creating a game that has an engine that the company understands and can properly work on more effectively

  • how do you know that is the reason it was downvoted? is it because thats why you downvoted it and your placing your own reasoning on to other people you dont know?

You might actually get more information instead of just saying that Survivors are crying. Scamper was a really unbalanced and unhealthy part of Chuckys kit, since you just follow the Survivor until they have to drop a Pallet and then you scamper right under it for a free hit. 0 Skill involved and 0 Skill expression from either side.

i do not disagree about chucky being changed, tho ive never played him and only played maybe 20 something games against him even with me playing quite often in the entirety hes been out since i wasnt actively playing much when he had first released.

however, the skill expression arguments have to stop. this game really has very little to do with skill. i mean some is involved but having any real argument for skill is heavily weakened when a massive chunk of the the game has nothing to do with skill.

woo requires no skill. running in a straight line requires no skill. agitation requires no skill and on and on and on.

to argue for skill expression when so much of what you do has nothing to do with skill or very little to do with skill is not a compelling argument the way that skill expression in a game like call of duty for example is more important because the game to my knowledge does not heavily rely on non skill related mechanics and perks.

The game should be balanced primarily on what is enjoyable and ROUGHLY balanced as its an asymn, it should not be based on skill unless you remove the literal 85-90% of the game that skill is irrelevant to

  • Its simple. most people arent losers like us who play non stop and post hundreds of times on a forum for a video game. most people are average people playing average games with average players who dont even know about all these hidden and secret rules and regulations.

he's right though, a little on the extreme side but he's right. Tunneling and Slugging are negative mechanics for the game. people aren't going to ever appreciate them because they are very often the immediate catalyst to games that are very boring and very one sided. people being tired of this will lead to more toxicity. the mechanics have to go away. and, as an extension of that, its important to say that its really not a surprise, nor is it seriously killers fault for utilizing mechanics encouraged by the developers, its the developers fault for vaulting the game into a never ending balance trap of trying to rework perks around already bad functions of the game instead of just changing the game to remove the functions and make both sides happy. people are much more likely to be positive about the game when they feel they have lost due to an actual skilled play or a competitive match rather than if its just an endless cycle of someone being tunneled at 5 immediately making for slow and boring games that usually end the same way, especially in solo queue.

its only a negative situation in some extreme cases.

at the end of the day this is a game that doesnt last for 3 minutes. games are over usually in less than 10 minutes. whether its a 4k or a 4 out.

to be mad that you were eliminated in an elimination game where people HAVE to be eliminated and its nonsensical to say that for a solid chunk of that time the killer isnt allowed to eliminate a player is rather insane to me.

Now i understand its not fun to be eliminated fast or to be slugged (frankly the slugging thing beyond a slug for the 4k is stupid. you have even less agency on hook and you bleed out slower and can move out of the killers view.

this game was never designed to not have these as functions even if there have been other flavors of those functions. you cant take them out of the game, doing that breaks the game.

the game has no rules or requirements that say you should be guarenteed to last X amount of time in the match.

if you do not like being eliminated and you cant handle being eliminated quickly once every 5-dozen plus gam,es or so (because if your being tunneled every match when there are 4 people to be tunneled then you are not very good at staying up and that is something you should self reflect on in regards to why your being eliminated so fast. You also are not being hard tunneled every single match and if you think you are, then you do not understand what tunneling is and you are misattributing misplays or bad luck to an action that was not done as is done constantly by people.

you also have access to a bunch of perks that counter and mitigate what those tactics can do. if these behaviors are truly that horrible then use the plethora of tools the game gives you.

or dont play elimination games that only last 10 minutes or less where every second matters in a game with 2 different groups trying to win the game.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/471023/survivor-toxicity

If you want survivor toxicity to stop we first need to stop killer toxicity. The whole toxicity started when killers decided to non stop tunnel or slug every god damn match. So if you a worthless tunneler or slugger you created the problem we are suffering from and only have yourselves to blame. If you tunnel me or anyone in my group your getting reported for griefing and tbagged every whiff, every pallet you take, and every screw up you make, and at the gates or hatch and expect a nasty gram end chat as well. THE GRIEFING STOPS WITH YOU BADDIE KILLERS who are bad at the game. Soon as you stop griefing or BHVR actually does something about you abusing and exploiting situational mechanics I guarantee there will be less toxicity on the survivor end of things.

having you incapacitated on the ground and not incapcitated on a hook (both are game states where you arent engaging with the game) is objectively not "griefing" nor is proxy camping nor is tunneling.

the irony of complaing about how a group of people should not be toxic while having one of the most toxic posts you can see on these forums.

as far as im concerned, tbag me all you want, im still going to down and eliminate you and you can complain about in in end game chat

edit: just realised in your rant you admitted to reporting people for non reportable behaviors which behavior has explicitly told you not report people for. so you can report all you want but it aint doing anything buddy

It still cracks me up that, even after 10 years, the issues of camping (especially 0 skill Bubba camping), tunneling, and slugging haven't really been resolved. If people are constantly complaining about this, shouldn't that be a trigger to fix these problems? As a developer, I’d be embarrassed that this is still an ongoing issue, why are they so afraid of upsetting the killers? I’m sure they’d get used to it it’s not like killer queues are particularly fast these days anyway. I feel like they shouldn't have scrapped the anti-tunneling update, they should have just tweaked it a bit and adjusted it later based on feedback so at least console players could test it while making sure to listen to the survivors, too, not just the killer players

because they are intended mechanics in the game. hence why the game was specifically designed to include and devs have made changes to discourge it someone but they clearly want them to remain in the game.

and people can complain about it all they want but these have been in the game for 10 years and the game is doing fine. your gonna complain and moan about every inconvenience you have but then youll still que up and play

  • @alex316 said:

You guys need to do something about toxic survivors, it's really annoying when they tbag you just for no reason, they ruin the gaming experience.

The new killer that's coming out, who already has it built in, is good, although I think it should activate after two tbags, not three.

For the other killers, there should be an anti-toxicity system, such as activating a hindered effect, or vulnerability or exposed, or both hindered and vulnerability or exposed.

tbagging is the surv not making distance meaning its actually easier to get them downed. dont view it as a taunt, view it as a missplay and i PROMISE if you stop viewing it as a thing to tilt you but for what it actually is, an iinneficient survivor behavior you will get downs because they love to tbag.

agreed, i play with high volume for footsteps and some of the screams are harsh, i get nothing out of having my hearing damaged by a horrid sound that does not enhance my experience

  • @dangersmymidd1ename said:

I think it is clear from this thread that many agree "hard tunnelling" is highly unenjoyable for the chosen survivor, and leads to an easy defeat for the killer. It's a cheese tactic for those who don't care about winning fair and square. Like someone else said, if you don't hard tunnel you still have a very good chance of winning anyway.

Survivors don't want an "easy win" but a fair one. The sooner a small but powerful mechanic is introduced to prevent that first survivor being immediately retargeted, the better. Not with "handholding" showing other survivors' auras or giving speed and points, but just flat out making it not worth going after that unhooked survivor.

I can only see this kind of hard tunnel protection improving matches for all, including killers who can develop their game sense and strategies.

i dont disagree that being hard tunneled out isnt "fun" but hard tunneling is still "fair and square"

it doesnt break rules or go against the mechanics of the game. it is an elimination game. an elimination game that by design does not guarentee any of the players a minimum amount of non elimination time. sure it still sucks to encounter just as other ways of losing are but its an elimination game and you were eliminated first either due to your own lack of capacity or dumb plays from team mates that unhook in bad situations.

hard tunneling is objectively a fair and square way to play the game. it just isnt fun for everyone to experience. kinda goes the same with pretty much every other behavior perk and mechanic in the game however.

  • no perk does that afaik and none of the new perks do it so that surely is a bug

I guess I can’t know for certain, but there is no other reason I can see. We’re getting dodged by people who very clearly have Steam/PC names. Is there value add to seeing the names and globes in the lobby? Why can’t it just be hidden until end game?

you can turn crossplay on and off, there is a toggle for it so i don think thats the reason

  • How do you know they are dodging because of that? the globe isnt just for console, it will be for any other platform like epic too

  • When you gotta goon you gotta goon

  • I have no interest in halo personally but i applaud the passion and effort here.

the perks are imo much better than the perks people typically suggest.

relentless pursuit i feel would need a slightly shorter chase timer, like 5 seconds shorter as a off the cuff thought and generator expert is a perk i dont think is going to be popular since skill checks arent hard to hit anyways and you would be losing other perk interactions and the repair boost.

  • im assuming there is a language barrier but this mode is already coming to the game. just not for a while.

  • skill issue for me no doubt but its a really hard mode for killer. you get absolutely no assistance (other than no tr) and if you injure a survivor they turn a corer and run 5 feet and vanish by the time your cooldown lifts.

Ive been playing deathslinger and while there are benefits to lights out with his his spear you have the hit slowdown and the reload as well to deal with so i couldnt actually have chases because i feel like they toned down the audio immensely because i cant really hear injured survs which is my only way to track them if they dont have a lantern.

but id accept the lanterns if they didnt tell you where the nearest unfinished gen is.(or wasnt freely available to you the entire match) that is incredibly powerful and goes against the spirit of the mode in my opinion. trying to find gens should be part of the experience.

  • @BreadSilence said:

I've only played three matches so far. The first match I had a slugging Twins on Lerys. Not fun but at least the Twins player was generous enough to let me escape when I was the last survivor alive.

The same, however, cannot be said about the following two matches I had against a Knight and a Jason player respectively. Both of whom just straight up hard tunneled me out of the game. And with no medkits and aura reading making it impossible to heal and not being able to see more than 5 feet ahead, idk how anyone in good conscious can say that this event is "survivor sided", let alone why anyone would wanna waste their time playing solo q survivor in this mode.

i mean your being tunneled in a game where there is zero info for the killer, he cant chase someone else if he doesnt see someone else.

there is nowhere to go but the hook if your not in chase and gens dont exactly slow down in this mode since survs can know where all gens are.

tunneling is not an argument in this mode

no thanks getting no mither, and scavenger when using medkit is not fun and there is literally no value from it, same with other perks that requier certain items or rng (like balanced landing when it's flat map), killers same

your chance of getting no mither is quite small and would make up a vast minority of your matches so i think youll be just fine.

you literally have no way to know in the regular mode if youll get use out of balanced landing either until the game starts.

  • you are losing 1 second on a perk and a complete melt down has ensued. what a strange community dbd is.

no one has an issue with lithe or overcome and neither of those perks are as useful and powerful as sprint burst is so to complain about this and make such comparisons isnt the source of a good argument.

  • i prefer the chaos over now every single game will also just be like regular with the same kinds of playstyles and perks as before just some with different names.

theres probably thousands of different build combinations having to work all that out and code it is not really reasonable for a mode thats around for a week.

  • @AliceNull said:

Not counting perks that benefit (residual manifest/champion of light) an underrated aspect is also that it just kind of helps you get better at using flashlights if you're not confident with them. The killer breaking a pallet is a very low stress environment to work on your muscle memory of how long it takes to blind, where to aim with the flashlight (on killers that aren't chucky at least), things like that.

    that is a good reason!

  • @dangersmymidd1ename said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4103289#Comment_4103289

Personally I am not that good at following while blind, but I've had it plenty of times where I looked to the side, avoided the blind and then caught them off guard before they made it somewhere else. Still developing my M1 skills so always room for improvement :)

it will probably take some practice but if you eat the blind and break the pallet than not only do you gain the benefits of a useless loop, the survivor at most only has 3 possible directions to go and healthy or injured they will make a sound that (at least with headphones) you should be able to tell at least which 50% of the possible directions the survivor is going and if you just move in that 50% youll have vision and be right on the surv.

literally the only thing you need to know what to do is which direction to move during a half second window and you will almost always have a hit or a down i promise you.

edit: just wanted to clarify that you want them to blind you right as you tsrat to break the pallet which vast majority of survs will do. thats causing the overwhelming majority of the blind to be wasted and the surv is still just standing in front of the pallet that is being broken so they end up right in front of you when your vision clears.

  • @dangersmymidd1ename said:

It is annoying and invites the killer to chase them and get distracted. You can try faking the pallet break, and/or going around, and/or try short swinging when they camp a pallet. Or simply ignore them and find someone else. Sometimes I shake my head a few times and they understand… and eventually their flashlight will run out - good luck!

theres no reason to fake it or avoid it because them blinding you is an action that means you have a higher chance of downing them than if they didnt and had continued to work the loop or go chain the next one.

when you pallet blind me i have a good chance of hitting you before you hit the chained loop as where i wouldnt if i had to move all the way around a rock and then spend 8 seconds chasing you down then you hit the next loop and repeat.

  • I think wraith is a good killer thats been pretty resilient through the dbd changes but the pallet density hurts him alot. the way his ability works and anti loop works (in my opinion) is heavily damaged by the ability of survivors to chain loops together so body blocking a pallet or spot or other tactics almost always guarantee the surv can reach the next loop that can shut down your lunge by the time your slowdown ends.

  • @bm33 said:

They're trying to be a distraction, not necessarily trying to get away and lose you. Keep you focused on them while team does gens, makes saves/heals, find hex totem, etc.

Rift challenges, old tome challenges, or achievements that require blinding the killer. Easiest way to get those blinds is at pallet while killer is in animation so can't look away. One of those times where a player will basically throw just to complete the challenge/achievement.

Or they watched some content creator video where they blinded the killer a bunch and are trying to recreate it but lack the skill/game sense to be as successful.

i didnt think about the quests. ive never really done them as they dont interest me so i didnt think of that. It does seem to have had a dramatic increase lately and with flashlight users in general and i do think it would be pleasant if the flashlight meta chilled down a tiny bit

i think there is a flag charm in DbD already lol.
I have been talking about representation in media in general. In Dead by Daylight, it is not that important but neither is representation of heterosexual themes and yet… it was part of it since almost the very beginning. It also wouldnt really affect anything to just have an ace confirmed character in DbD anyways, we have chars in heterosexuell relationships and a gay, lesbian and even trans character and it didnt make the game better or worse but more diverse.

You are unable to express it in society, at work, in friend groups, many MANY people will talk it down, assume you are Gay and don’t want to admit it or something, just haven’t found the right one. Sexuality and romantic relations are huge topics pretty much everywhere and people that come out as asexual will most likely face some kind of marginalization in their life, feeling left out, especially during their teenage years. And representation in Media can help these folks accept themselves and perhaps see that their social surroundings are more accepting (… or not if they throw a fit at the mere suggestion of some representation that wouldnt affect them at all…)

And DbD is getting even more diverse and you are able to express yourself in many different ways and forms, character and skin choices, Charms and Banners and Badges, User names,… why stop at the inclusion of am asexual character when we have so many other forms of different representation?

I didnt even ask for this explicitly, but when people are so against it i feel like thats already a hint that it is needed and there is some form of rejection present that is uncalled for.

to clarify then, i genuinly have no opposition to an asexual charm, character or banner or whatever added to the game. No part of my being gives a damn about what anyones sexual or romantic preferences are as long as no one is being harmed.

But i do not personally see a reasonable justification to "call for" representation for a frankly irrelevant component of a Separate product(dbd) that the overwhelming majority of people do not care about (i am sure there are people who are weird about it but that is not most people)

Human beings are extremely complex and nuanced things and we can break down into a billion labels for various aspects of human personality. we do not need to try and have every single version of human or identity represented and celebrated.

yeah as i said, it depends on Definition. Asexual people don’t usually get physically attacked but being marginalized and being told that you don’t matter, or that you cant ask for representation in media because you are niche can very well be viewed as being attacked. And downplaying the mental pressure from this as well.

Many asexual people cant express themselves in society and may feel the need to mask and stay in their closet.

not having a flag emblem in a video game regarding someones lack of sexual desires in a game not about sexual desires is not marginalizing or saying you dont matter.

Where are you unable to express that you dont want to have sex with other people?

and why is that something thats important to express to other people in dead by daylight?

  • you should probably report this in the report bug section not the off topic section

Not sure if Meg has already some romantic relationship mentioned in Lore or not and just asking to ‘make’ a character a specific sexuality kinda seems weird.

But i am not against more representation especially for under represented groups (generally speaking not only with LGBTQ+ in mind)

’Not under attack’ is a bold statement when considering that asexuality is often completely ignored or brushed off even in LGBTQ circled.. but i guess it depends on how someone defines ‘attack’ here.

yea ignored isnt the same as being attacked, something that gay people have been.

and frankly society doesnt care if your asexual. people dont tend to create moral positions on it as it doesnt interact with some of the main ideological machines that would be against other identity types such as being gay.

Gay people may have people who will not associate with them being gay.

No one is determining that they wont interact with someone due to them having a lack of sexual desire. not comparable.

  • im not sure what relevance sexuality has to this game such that niche sexual or romantic identities need to be represented and advertised in a game not about sexuality and romantic identities. Especially when the identity group in question is not even under attack.

  • this smells of chat gpt but theres no plans to remove meyers from the game and if he was it wouldnt be up to behavior.
