Killer power practice range

Killer Power Practice Range

I think DBD should add a practice range where you can choose any Killer and just practice their power without having to play a full match.

Some Killer powers are really hard to learn, especially Nurse blinks, Blight’s rush, Wesker’s dashes, Huntress hatchets, Billy’s chainsaw, etc. You basically have to go into actual games and learn while Survivors are trying to loop you, which can make it pretty frustrating.

The practice range could let you spawn bots or targets and just practise the power as much as you want. You could also have things like different loop setups, pallets and windows so you can practise using the power in situations that actually happen in a match.

I think this would be a really good feature because it wouldn’t directly buff or nerf anyone. It would just make it easier for players to actually learn the Killers and get better at using their powers.

It could also be useful for experienced players who want to practise specific techs without wasting an entire match trying to set them up.

I feel like this would be a pretty simple quality-of-life feature that could make learning Killers way less frustrating.

  • Not really sure why people are just downvoting this. I think maybe because you can achieve something similar with a custom game? I think being able to go into "the range" or a custom game with a skin you haven't bought to try it out would be really nice, as there are certain pay-to-lose skins that people have no way to know about until they have already bought the skin

People are down voting because it's ai

  • how do you know that is the reason it was downvoted? is it because thats why you downvoted it and your placing your own reasoning on to other people you dont know?

I'm not sure what you are trying to get at. AI is heavily frowned upon on these forums. Could someone have down voted because they dont like the concept as well? Sure

  • Ah yeah thats fair. I don't like AI, I just figure DBD has a lot of people from different countries, and maybe people use AI to translate instead of Google Translate so I give the benefit of the doubt

  • AI is when good punctuation and grammar

you stated that it was downvoted by people because of X reason. no one other than potentially you has posted why they downvoted. so your making an assertion that other people who you do not know who, downvoted someone over a reason you can not verify is why.

Like i said in my previous response the forums hate AI. So logically I assumed that would be the case for the downvotes. I did not discredit people downvoting because they didnt like the concept

sure, and my message is state its illogical to make that claim because it isnt based on anything substantive. Just an assumption. and an assumption even if ultimately true doesnt qualify making an objective statement.

and i presume people who struggle with english and many players arent native english speakers may use ai tools to be able to be understood when posting.

Now, i dont know what we have in play with the OP but i do not think its right to say he should be downvoted simply for using an AI tool assistant when writing something. just my view anyways

Clearly we have different stances on AI but hey thats why we come to the forums. To discuss

i have issues with ai when its used to be lazy like in video creation on youtube for exaple or to push out slop games with minimal effort.

I do not have an issue with people using AI tools to help them communicate better. I struggle with typing and can be hard to understand for people at times with how jumbled my thoughts can come out. if i were to use an AI tool to assist my communication, i am unsure that i should be derided for doing so.

AI absolutely has its uses, it's simply when and where it should be applied. Specifically for these forums AI use isnt gonna get much sympathy

which is fine, i just dont like downvoting someone in a forum with people who all have to communicate in a language that many people do not speak natively. (i do i just have childish writing skills) for using a tool so they can communicate with everyone in the community more effectively instead of being left out because they dont know how to write in english or the message is just incoherent and hard to parse as is not uncommon to see.

  • Please keep the post on topic. Thank you!

I'd like to clarify this point: What is the difference between Custom Mode and this mode? Is Custom Mode inefficient because it uses up the entire match time?

I'd like to clarify this point: What is the difference between Custom Mode and this mode? Is Custom Mode inefficient because it uses up the entire match time?

Its the ease of use. For example being able to test muscle memory of a special attack on a stationary target. So that by the time you start chasing players with it, you know exactly what it does and have the timing/arc etc down and can then learn to use it against players easier. As apose to going up against bots programmed to make an m1 killer miserable that dodge half your shots before you can see what it actually does or where it actually hits. Like learning what objects are too tall to shoot hellfire pillars through, without having to be stressed out in a chase while learning.

Take overwatch for example, they have a shooting range so you can test out every character's mobility powers, weapons, how much damage each shot does etc, and you can test it out as long as you want till you are ready to bring it to pvp. All we have for trying out a new killer is a timed skirmish.

  • Thank you. That system seems like a good way to understand the basics of how it works. As for the effect range around objects, since there are so many of them, I think it would be best to check them individually in custom mode.
