  • you are correct, false equivalence would be a better fallcy to apply to your statement.

I'd wager most people's games don't end in an abandon 100% of the time. So i doubt anyone is sitting on the exact same MMR forever. For the sake of discussion, let's say some folks do abandon every single game and stay in the same spot. So what? It's a personal number used within a pretty large bracket.

the issue is they will continue to be matched with people who want to actually play the game. people who abandon frequently frankly should be put in a loser mmr bracket and they can all dc against each other.

It not displaying is a bug, but it counting UP is working as intended. They obviously want to combat there "20min queue? Nah, I quit" people… but it's going to have the opposite effect IMO… people are going to queue for a few minutes then quit because they have NO IDEA. Seriously, I am an avid player but these changes make me worry I might not have the desire to play to finish the RIft Pass for the first time since 2021 (the only one since then I didn't finish was the Trickster chapter Rift, what was it 6? Anyway, due to when I started there was truly no chance without buying levels.)

wait, the counting up and not telling you the estimated wait time is intentional?

I thought that was part of the bug geez

The ability of this skill can be used once each time you are rescued from the hook, and it can be activated while injured. You can use it freely in the situation you want, without being affected at all by exhaustion. When you cast this skill, you cannot perform any action for 5 seconds. But even a murderer can do nothing to that survivor. The survivor who uses this skill falls into a berserk state immediately after 5 seconds pass. This skill represents the mindset of newbies who are bad at using Deha and Exhaustion skills and want to buy some time by any means.

what is a beserk state? i think there is some kind of translation thing happening here. but this sounds horrible to face with how it reads. 5 seconds invulnerability is insane, requires no skill and can 100% guarantee massive chase extensions when used properly.

    2. Safety Officer

Another survivor can carry over a survivor who is in a dead state. For 2 seconds after carrying, the movement speed increases by 100%. You cannot run while using that skill. The carried survivor’s recovery gauge increases while carried in the same way as when it is at the brink of death and remains still. If the survivor you are carrying quickly brings down the survivor you are carrying, the recovery gauge of the survivor you were carrying is reset.

If you place it down safely, the recovery gauge will be maintained. The quick descent is used immediately and has no delay. It takes 1.5 seconds to put it down safely. If the carried survivor is damaged, they will automatically fall, and the recovery gauge will also be reset.

i like the intention of this and its uniqueness but this perk would be Dead on arrival.

  • i mean the game is based around humanoid models for the most part, so creating a non anthropomorphic model that may need completely different animation rigs isnt an easy task from my understanding. and generally speaking, most popular horror characters will be anthropomorphic because anthropomorphis is more relatable to humans. if there was a popular non anthro killer maybe, but most killers that would be added are going to be humanoid, its just how most of horror is.

Yes, Ive noticed that the time remaining until the match starts is missing. I wonder if thats to combat survivors from dropping out at the last possible second to screw around?

i believe it is a bug based off coments i have seen and due to me seeing weird code icons on that spot that is clearly the display not working right so i am confident it is a bug and not intentional.

  • its an issue with the Denuvo test they are doing from my understanding. You will have to wait until they remove it if they do and or they figure out why its causing crashing on certain devices and hardware. its not doing it for everyone and hardware is incredibly complex and varied. its annoying yes but you should expect that game updates can cause problems. I hope they resolve that. I havnt had crashes or inability to launch the game but i get sticky movement which is panick inducing when it happens mid chase or little stutters and character model freezes.

I do not believe the tail attack is good enough to require a turrets that alwasy seem to be around knocking you out of your power. when comparing to other killers who can do something similar, I.E do a hit over a pallet or window, they do not get the same kind of counters xeno has to deal with.

This is such a biased and short-sighted "non answer" from a killer main who prolly hasn't played survivor in who knows how long 🙄 no $#!+ certain killers can counter certain builds, that's not a problem. What is a problem is when the new killer that you see 20+ matches in a gd row (shame on the person a few posts above trying to gaslight us into believing 'nobody plays this killer' smdh) can counter literally 50% or more of the viable builds that are out there. So no, this does not promote "build diversity" if anything this will encourage players to use the only 2 or 3 builds that are any good against them. To be quite honest this has been the most disappointing killer release in a long time and the Survivor lobby being at a constant 1.75x multiplier since this god awful killer released last Tuesday should be all the evidence you need that no one likes playing against this killer. I don't even know how bhvr could release this killer in it's current state without being completely ashamed of themselves imho it's incredibly unfun and frustrating to play against no matter how many matches you have to "practice" against it.

are you able to show match history of "20 plus matches in a row" against the judgement? i have a sneaking suspicion you are flat out lying. because that killer DOES NOT have a pick rate high enough for that. even on the first few days after release 2x in a row was the highest i saw agaisnt judgement. furthermore a killer that has an incredibly high skill floor will not be popular enough. even when jason came out there was not 20 games in a row against one. people were still playing other killers.

You look like a clown when you make posts that you make no effort to keep your emotion and bias out of. If you want your points to be taken seriously, you should just lie and exaggerate and act like your accurately representing the situation.

  • i dont even believe corrupt intervention is even that good of a perk when you can mostly predict where you need to go to start the first chase as long as the map doesnt spawn killer in the middle. you should be entering your first chase quite quick normally, in about the same amount of time as corrupt would naturally funnel you in the right direction and then when the first down happens you just lose an entire perk meanwhile you could just run a different perk instead.

  • yes, end game saves can be risky and some killers may excel in end game final hook protection scenarios. its the teams job to analyse whether the risk of attempting a save is worth it or not. there is no expectation or need for the final person to be saved, its a bad situation that rightfully should have a low chance of success, which is how it currently functions. the system is fine.

Depends on the killer, but most of the time adding an extra 45-60s to chase is typically pretty worth it.

well you arent actually adding that much time back on as you have to deduct the both the additional healing time (8 additional seconds with a medkit and 16 seconds using this item) as well as no movement or gen progression or assistance to the rest of your team. therefore the time gain you have by having an additional health state is not actually buying you 60 seconds if that health state lasts a 60 second chase, which isnt wehats going to happen the vast majority of the time. a health state should be gitting hit with 10-20 seconds in order to maintain enough pressure.

  • sb isnt the sole reason other killers are weaker. this post doesnt make much logical sense.

  • @pidgeon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4115249#Comment_4115249

It seems to be a better medkit since it gives 3 self heals rather than 1-2

but a medkit is only a 33% reduction. you already shouldnt be self healing very often because its time inefficient and you are likely hurting your team by doing so, encouraging people to double their time and more often doesnt sound good to me. just run self care if you want to spend a bunch of time in the match achieving nothing which is what the issue this looks like it would generate if people use this for self healing reasons.

  • I was excited for it but it looks to be rather poorly made. very buggy and janky to where it looks like it shoulds till be in alpha, myers doesnt have to interact with human players to win, myers interaction seems to be press button to appear from shadows, press a button to grab and then press 1 2 3 4 to instantly kill someone. all while all the horror and scary potential of the game is removed by 15 year olds yelling edgy stuff on prox chat.

and they are charging 40 bucks for it.

  • im not sure a plus 20% (is this separate to the medkit or an addon for it) healing boost addon with 3 uses is balanced enough. as a standalone item, i dont know the numbers and math on healing but it doesnt sound to be worth running over a medkit. am i misunderstanding?

Was thinking about weather baldurs gate 3 was a seperate enough license from dnd that they wouldnt be able to bring some of its characters as legendaries for aestri. Or perhaps a whole baldurs gate 3 chapter with a beholder killer and some of the main cast survivors.

its not, larian has license to the code and platform for using them to make the game, all the characters, items, and such is still owned by wizards of the coast, so to use something like the beholder, you would need a license from wizards of the coast, larian would be unable to license out any of the in game characters.

overzealous is useful, to do gens quicker and the speed is based on if you cleanse a totem or hex, it's pretty useful when dealing with 3 gens and doing a lot of gen prog without getting hit, so is the boon. Likely meant to counter 3 gens or a highly pressured gen, you can set more than one boon perk on a totem btw so it might also be a good pair with another boon perk.

i have yet to see it placed in a spot where more than 1 gen is affected. if it was done more often it would be more useful, but i tend to see them placed on edge map or in spots where only 1 gen is in its radius

My guy, I get that. But there's a cutoff point. If a perk has insane value in one out of every hundred games it does not matter how good it is, no one's running it. Likewise, because sabo as a build kinda sucks and requires 3~4 perks to pull off I don't want to dedicate my whole build to it if there's a high chance of it just not mattering at all next match when it was never that good to start with.

if it works 80% of your games then it has an awfully high chance of working not a high chance of not working.

  • @esarraf said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4114902#Comment_4114902

My man, no a build is not worth bringing if you can't reasonably rely on it. Sabo was already barely worth bringing because of how strong slugging already is. Meanwhile Gen builds works in 100% of games. I understand your mindset if you are a casual player in low mmr but like, this is just basic common sense for anyone whose skilled at the game. Nerfing alternatively playstyles will directly lead to less people playing them. That's why you don't see killers or survivors running stuff like haste builds after diminishing returns got implemented. Making niche builds worse means less people playing them, it's just common sense.

the midset that if you shouldnt use a perk if you dont get 100% value in it every single match is why people use 5 perks every game and find it boring.

l;iterally every single build can be countered in some way or another or at least mitigated, its just some perks are not used often. you can make anti exhaustion builds and greatly weaken those builds but people dont bring them, so you think it works 100% of the time.

in a game about tactic/perk vs other counters and such its poor game design to build perks that have nothing to potentially encounter it. gen rushing perks have counters called gen regression that mitigates what those do.

]your playstyle wasnt nerfed, it stille xists, but killers all have different ways of plays and things they are good or poor against.

yea you dont get to prevent hooking if your against the judgment, you have to do so something else. thats prioper game design instead of 1 power set that can be agaisnt it. thats why there are anti heal killers, anti loop kills, zoning killers, mobility killers, ect because there are different playstyles and they excel at some things and worse at others.

there are also perks that make saboing harder btw, counters to your build already exists but people dont tend to run them. so your issue is more that you actually encountered a killer that makes you play differently. thats not a bad thing. adapt.

  • @esarraf said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4114894#Comment_4114894

No? This is the first killer besides sorta pyramid head who totally ignores sabo and flashlight saves. And I feel like I should point out that because Judgment is easily an S tier/top of A tier killer and they are new it's gonna be like 20% for the next couple of months. Which yeah I'm not going to bring a build if it just does nothing in a fifth of my games. Especially since, it's not even that strong of a build.

Look at the end of the day it's fine, it's just a game but you need to understand that Judgment's existence in their current state will directly lead to more genrushing and less build diversity. It's not healthy for the game and should be looked at.

so a build that works 80% of the time isnt worth bringing? can you not see how i struggle to take this seriously? they are absolutely not being played ANYWHERE near 20% of games on NA servers anyways.

genrushing isnt a thing i recognise. thats the survivors job is to do gens and excluding a few killers that create sub objectives, there is nothing else for them to do.

I mean there is still build diversity when you dont think a build that doesnt have 100% viability every match means its worthless and not to be brought.

  • @esarraf said:

I hate the tunneling part too especially since I love to run sabo to prevent tunneling but I just can't play that way anymore since Judgment just totally ignores my build. It's so much fun being forced to genrush or risk bringing a build that does absolutely nothing. Really great move on the developers side removing playstyles from survivors… so much fun just having to genrush.

so if the every once in a while game you have you cant sabo on means you cant sabo the other 95% of games? am i understanding you right?

not all playstyles will be viable every match. thats not anywhere near new to the judgement.

Denuvo introduced a game breaking bug that seems to have no fix and would make dead by daylight unplayable for me. While playing all keyboard inputs essentially "stick" lasting longer than they should, delaying later inputs and making character movement nearly impossible (causing you to run into walls) while mouse input remains unaffected. This is a documented issue with this anti-cheat and has caused this same problem in other games, such as Sniper Elite: Resistance or how it forced me to stop playing The Finals. Despite numerous proposed solutions online, none of them have solved this issue for me; Denuvo cannot be put into Dead by Daylight.

oh i thought it was an issue with my keyboard somehow. I have ran into this several times myself as well. I get stuck moving in a direction and cant stop for several seconds

  • im no top tier killer or survivor player by any means but genuinly, the meta stuff is not as needed as people think and it becomes crutches for them.

I win games all the time with no gen regression. I get locked in and dont usually like to kick gens and so if im not using ruin, im usually getting little value of regression due to as much as possible i am keeping someone off the gen, and often the time you spend to regress a gen, its regression is so slow that your not really saving that much time anyways. I am of the opinion that pushing people off gens and forcing a heal makes them loss way more time than 30-60 seconds of uninterrupted gen regression.

I think the focus on gen regression alot of killers have(not that its not useful) prevents them from utilising other forms of pressure and control that in your average lobby is more than enough to win games. (what happens or is needed in the top few percent of players is not something i care about or view important to consider here)

for survivors, DS would just be a waste 9/10 times. you arent getting tunneled every game. or slugged every game. same with other anti tunnel or slugging perks. sure they arent useless but you are not needing them in the amjority of your games and your locking yourselves out of actually useful perks because the meta says your supposed to use these perks. then all the newer players see the meta so you all throw on windows or ds and sb and then waste them or get no value because you end up having playstyles that cripple themselves because the only thing you know how to do is pre run, and that is only so effective when there are ways to stop it or play around it.

  • no. without what she has now, she has absolutely no danger potential except complete babies. Basic looping fundamentals should make up most of the time from a lost health state because she has no chase power and much of the time their chase time is wasted or heavily extended because they need to get you infected.

her infection IS her power. infection isnt the power for other killers, its just a component of it. Sure wesker can infect you and it will almost never actually come into play in a match. but thats ok because weskers real power is his dash. Something plague doesnt have.

  • i have not played enough matches yet to tell for sure but initial thoughts are i prefer them going around the tile instead of through. going through the pallet slows them down and keeps open all possible loop directoins the surv has which makes it harder for you to zone them. when the hunt goes around the loop the surv either has 1 direction blocked off and you can hit the other side of the loop or they run and risk the hit from the hunt. No doubt there are situations where its inferior but so far i have noticed a few hunts where a down occurred much quicker because of the guard not going through the pallet

Seems like you completely missed the entire point of the posy, Judgement doesn't get any hook perk benefits when sending them to exile, just like pyramid head, they also both need the status affect to even do it, Judgement has a power that goes up or down the elevation and goes further than pyramid heads, in order for pyramid to get the stays affect, it requires strategic placement and position, while Judgement doesn't need to do that, you're just in the wrong here pal, and you wonder why the nonsense happens, when it's the obliviousness like this is why it happens

im happy to admit when i am wrong but i am not.

We can find similarities between every single killer in the game because the characters are limited by a finite set of mechanics and when there are 40 plus characters and counting there is going to be some crossovers. Thats not a good argument at all.

Pyramid head is 4.6. Judgement is not.

Pyramid head is a 115 chase capable killer. Judgement is not.

Pyramid head can lay down a trail to hinder and impact survivors. Judgement can not.

Pyramid head can send a survivor to a singular location upon which only that singular location can the survivor be rescued. Judgement can not.

Pyramid head can not be a threat to survivors who are 15 plus meters away. Judgement can.

Pyramid head can not apply heavy gate pressure in end game if gates are not spawned near each other. Judgement can.

Would you like me to continue?

They are killers who have overlap in what they can do but excell in different ways and situations.

I can list 10 plus similarities between Ghostface and wraith and yet regardless of similarities they are still differnt killers who play differently.

The nonsense of dbd players is incredibly tiring.

  • They are different killers that have some overlapping aspects of their kit. Judgement is not a stronger pyramid head.

Sigh. and around and around the circle of dbd nonsense goes.

It’s pointless talking to you because you’re making false accusations simply because you’ve run out of arguments. I could send you 20 videos from just the last six weeks proving the exact opposite of what you’re claiming.

I’m not talking about slugging someone and letting them bleed out. I’m specifically talking about the killer picking that Survivor up afterwards and even letting them wiggle free. Then either the killer kills them anyway, or lets them escape as a “thank you” for helping them find the last Survivor.

Say whatever you want, I have absolutely no reason to lie. I’m not here childishly complaining about being tunneled or camped because I genuinely don’t care about things like that. I’m specifically talking about a game mechanic that is GUARANTEED not to be intended to work this way. I know several streamers who would agree with this 10000%, simply because it has nothing to do with a fair match anymore. It’s purely about satisfying the killer’s ego by finally killing the Survivor they weren’t able to kill before.

It doesn’t happen every game because, thankfully, there are also plenty of normal Survivors with a brain who won’t help the killer. But in Solo Queue, it still happens often enough that Survivors get triggered because you don’t pick them up anymore when the game is already over, so they betray your location just to save their own ass.

"It’s pointless talking to you because you’re making false accusations simply because you’ve run out of arguments. I could send you 20 videos from just the last six weeks proving the exact opposite of what you’re claiming."

feel free to do so. If we assume you arent lying about it so send me a handful then if you have it. and send those in when you report people.

I have no reason to believe you just because you decided to claim so on a forum. We both know that doesnt mean you are being truthful.

I have played the game for 10 years. I also know that slugging is done sometimes and slugging for the 4k is done sometimes. I also know it is not every game or the majority of games either. (in the NA servers at least but i have no reason to believe that other servers have completely different demographics)

Slugging for the 4k isnt teaming and isnt breaking the rules. your original message never mentioned the specific qualifier of "teaming" that you added on after i had countered your argument.

Pay more attention to what you own words say before you do this.

Lets be very clear here so that you can improve your own communication. you have tried to twist the conversation based on a point that you never included in your original message for it to be relevant in any capacity to my message. That is dishonest. We can disagree on any and all topics without you resorting to lying or being disingenuous in order to do so.

  • @blondemagnolia said:

What you’re saying shows me that you haven’t understood the point at all. This kind of slugging CONSTANTLY leads to teaming, which is literally AGAINST THE RULES, yet nothing ever happens no matter how many times you report it.

Survivors are basically encouraged to team with the killer when nobody helps them and they’re left slugged forever, because they know they might be allowed to escape if they help the killer find and betray the last survivor. If killers couldn’t keep someone slugged indefinitely, this problem wouldn’t exist in the first place — and THAT is exactly the point.

You’re talking about completely different things that don’t address the actual issue. Preventing this kind of excessive slugging would directly tackle the abuse of this mechanic and the rule-breaking that comes with it.

collect video of this constant teaming your alleging and use that with your reports. you cant just report someone slugging you for the 4k as against the rules (which behavior EXPLCITLY states is not rulebreaking and not to submit reports on)

I play more than enough of this game to know you are being dishonest in your message. It doesnt happen to the degree your saying, its rare. often what people do is misidentify what the killer is actually doing or is unaware of other macro factors on the killer or your other team mates side and thus make erroneus conclusions on what is happening due to a mix of bias/ignorance to all aspects of the game state.

Luckily, it seems Behavior is aware of these exaggerative reports (both by killers and survs) and dont invalidate playstyles just because you dont like it and find a win undeserved.

(if someone is actually teaming, sure thats undeserved as its breaking the rules) but if its happening as frequently as you are asserting then its on you top document it and report it properly instead of breaking the rules of behaviors report system and throwing baseless accusations out because your mad at losng.

So if I was NEVER hooked and won every single chase, the killer somehow deserves a 4K just because they managed to catch the second-to-last survivor? They slug them, can’t find me, then pick them back up and team with them to get me. I’ve reported this multiple times and NOTHING has ever happened. There’s even a killer who posts Reels of themselves doing exactly this and makes fun of it.

They seriously need to do something about indefinite slugging. I don’t see why I should be punished when I did nothing wrong the entire match just because someone’s ego got hurt after losing every chase against me and they suddenly feel entitled to my kill.

And this clearly isn’t some imaginary problem. You can see the EXACT same thing happening during escape challenges from various streamers. If killers couldn’t slug indefinitely whenever they felt like it without any consequences, they simply wouldn’t be able to abuse it like this.

It’s incredibly annoying to drag a match out just to force a 4K you didn’t earn. If you weren’t able to kill that survivor before, you’re not suddenly entitled to their kill just because you can leave someone on the ground forever until you eventually find them. Resources like pallets eventually run out, and Bloodlust exists too. You can’t realistically expect someone to keep winning chases indefinitely under those circumstances.

its a team game, not a 1v1 game. thus yes, if your team as a whole plays poorly you do not deserve handicaps or buffs to make up for your team perfroming poorly. that makes no sense.

unbrekable would be a useful perk for that situation. or your team mate picking you up when not in the killers face. your surv team mate not doing so is not on the killer. nor is the killer obligated to make it easier for you just as it is not the survs responsibility to make things easier for the killer.

You not liking getting slugged has literally nothing to do with whether someone arned a win or not. thats such a childish and entitled perspective.

You are not supposed to win chases indefinitely. your not supposed to be able to infinitely use resoruces and have infinite resources to fall back on. if you or your team does not utilise your resources efficiently then thats you/your teams issue not the killers.

The way dbd works is that survs should only have an reasonable chance of escaping if your team is not plkaying like ameobas. if your team is playing poorly or you are and you do as you guys do 99% of matches which is unhook before the killers made it 10 feet away, healing under hook when killers not in a chase, bodyblock the killer after being unhooked and many many other objectively stupid moves that you or your team consistently does then you are going to not escape very often and thats the way it should be.

Survivors are supposed to get weaker as the match goes on, not stron ger or maintain the same level of strength as they do at the start of the match assuming the match scales the way its expected to.

I do not think you properly understand the games design and how things function and i think you need to readdress what you feel you are owed in a competitive game and the selfishness you have with your expectations on what you are supposed to have when your team plays poorly or you dont like being on the ground.

if all 4 survs die, the killer did its job. as long as its not breaking the rules of the game or using 3rd party software to achieve it, then it was earned. you dont get to gatekeep when a player gets to win the game or not lmao.

    Same in reverse.

Spend time getting better, not blaming your failures on everything else but yourself.

I’d genuinely love to watch you juke a killer for 4 minutes when all the pallets are already gone, the killer is teaming with another survivor, and you’re getting sandbagged on top of that. 👏🏼 I’d really like to see how often you manage to escape in that situation.

If killers couldn’t keep survivors slugged indefinitely, survivors wouldn’t be able to team with them like this in the first place. We’ve even seen the exact same thing happen to various Fog Whisperers, so I guess that must be a “skill issue” too, right?

It’s pretty sad when someone runs out of actual arguments and immediately resorts to personal attacks just because they can’t handle being confronted with the reality of the issue.

you shouldnt be able to loop a killer for 4 minutes with no resources. your team has played poorly/been outplayed if that has happened. its not the killers responsibility or fault if your team sandbags or unhooks right in front of their face or tries to heal under hook or the plethora of poor game moves survivor teams CONSTANTLY make over and over and then demand to not be punished for.

If a killer is teaming with a surv then report it.

"It’s pretty sad when someone runs out of actual arguments and immediately resorts to personal attacks just because they can’t handle being confronted with the reality of the issue."

YOU said that people that do a certain action and get 4ks are absolute bots. Those are YOUR words.

I asked if you are unable to beat bots as your message insin utates. Where did i insult you beyond asking you about your own statement indicating your lack of ability to beat low skilled players? The only person who insulted was you.

"little kids think they somehow deserve a 4K, even though they’re absolute bots."

    Your own words.

Slugging has seriously reached a whole new level thanks to the amazing MMR reset announcement. It’s so exhausting trying to just play DBD when you’re constantly getting slugged because some little kids think they somehow deserve a 4K, even though they’re absolute bots. All it does is unnecessarily drag the match out forever, and then people even team up just so the killer can find the last survivor. Something really needs to be done about this already

are you not able to beat bots?

The problem is that both existing and new players are pushed away from the game by this kind of playstyle. As soon as they add basekit anti tunnel, the experience will improve for everyone, and killers will still win easily. Who wants to invest time in learning counterplay and looping when a killer can just pick the weakest or nearest and get rid of them without consequence?

If you think this is totally fine then you don't play survivor enough.

well as ive stated and stand by, it doesnt happen anywhere near as much as people say it does. i think people are all parroting each other and inventing an exaggerative reality amongst themselves thats not actual reality.

Tunneling and slugging has been around for the entire games existence and used to be even worse. The game is not dead or dying or driving players away in droves. this doom speak is nothing new and thats the same claim thats been made for a decade. idk why you claim something that is not true especially if behavior is saying the game is doing better now than it ever has. and thast with all these "driving players away"

"Who wants to invest time in learning counterplay and looping when a killer can just pick the weakest or nearest and get rid of them without consequence?" If there is no consequence to the killer for doing this then that is the failure of the team.

You can have the opinion that i dont play enough survivor because i dont play along with the BS that fills the forum and community, but i know better. played surv since launch. Not sure what my actual split is since 2020 when they started tracking as i cant log in to the stat page for some reason but overall im 100% sure ive played significantly more surv and i play them currently about 50/50 nowadays and use pwyw extensively

    1. if you got tunneled out you still played the game. Just not as much as you would like. do not make just blantantly fasle claims by using words that factually do not apply to the concept your pushing as it muddys the waters when communicating.
    2. hard tunneling doesnt happen anywhere near as much as people like to claim it does. At least per the NA servers that i play on. maybe other servers are different but the NA has alot of people and while it exists its not even 50% of matches. the majority of matches play out normalls.
    3. this is an elimination game. if there was supposed to be a period of time where you were supposed to have guarenteed match immunity then that would have been factored into the game. The fact of the matter is this is an elimination game with matches lasting between 7-12 minutes. there is not always time to ask your opponents for permission to eliminate them from the elimination match because they havnt had an arbitrary invisible amount of fun yet. if you are getting tunneled out of matches right from the start every game then YOU need to get better at the game. The game provides a PLETHORA of chase extentions, chase evasions, stealth, tunneling, hook stage sharing, endurance ect. if your team refuses to touch gens while you have 70 second hook stages AND all the off time of the hook in addition to where your team has no pressure on the gens then that is your team messing up. Hard tunneling only works if you suck in chase(and because you suck at chase you should be ignored and left to sit around on a gen instead or healing others or in general taking pressure away from the killer is a talking point that baffles me) and your team is incompetent and doesnt touch a gen. Which is what happens in most matches. you have survs spending all their time following a killer or another surv with a flashlight or doing nothing at all towards progressing the teams objectives.
    4. You are absolutely right that you can win without hard tunneling, and the majority of killers do not try and hard tunnel because its not easy to do unless a team is playing poorly or ther in general is a big mismatch in skill. The exaggeration of what happens in game by both killer and survivor players is absurd. you all exaggerate to each other and then validate your own perceptions by the exaggerations of other people who agree with you.

Please let me know what other elimination pvp games exist that guarentee you a chunk of the match where you cant be eliminated or are given immunity because you are playing poorly/worse than your opponent. Why is it in fortnite your allowed to be killed in the first 10 seconds after dropping? Im pretty sure thats unanimously unfun to be eliminated that fast and its IMPOSSIBLE to be eliminated that fast in dbd unless you DC. You are guaranteed to be able to play at LEAST 20-30% of a match even if you are hard tunneled.

This is a pvp game that people are competitive with. I dont see survivor players making sure not to push gens too fast if the killer isnt getting any hooks in order to preserve the killers fun nor should there be any expectation of that. is it fun for a killer to have half the gens done before they can get 1 hook? no. Is it fun for killers to be at 1 gen left no hooks and then BB and saboed to prevent the single hook? no. But its a part of the game and the killer doesnt deserve to be treated like an 8 year old and be given a handicapp due to being outplayed by the opposing side.

This IS entitlement. This is a game where 2 opposing sides are attempting to beat the other. Both sides use the most effective methods within their capabilities or knowledge and both sides have tools that can be used to address a multitude of various playstyles.

You are not owed being babied by the game to stick in a competitive match where the goal is to eliminate/not be eliminated where you are not capable of using the tools the game gives you or the support your team should be giving you.

Do you also ask for your opponents to go easier on you in call of duty if you are 0 and 10? because im pretty sure thats not "fun" and it seems only whats fun to YOU should determine on whether its valid to be in the game or not.

I do not mean this insultingly or even directed at you but to the group at large on both killer and survivors who constantly parrot this very childish and entitled demands to have your hands held because you lose or are out played by an opposing team you gotta grow up a bit and do not play pvp elimination games if you cant handle being eliminated quickly. DBD games dont last long enough to have any reasonable demand for that. and a courtesy is demanded thats not offered in the other direction.

The previous MMR system was the Emblem system and rank (now grades) were our actual ranks and not just used to calculate out monthly BP bonuses. Sorry but it seems like your memory is entirely inaccurate here.

I'd also argue that 1. I have not encountered nearly as many teabagging toxic survivors as hard tunneling killers and that's most likely because 2. teabagging gains no competitive advantage, it can be frustrating but it doesn't affect the game at all, while hard tunneling not only is incredibly frustrating and unfun but also often the easiest way to win.

The unfun strat should not also be the most efficient one when a game is about having fun. The most powerful strat also shouldn't be most usable and effective on the already-strongest killers in the game. These are why tunneling is considered a problem that needs to be solved while getting teabagged sometimes is not

I dont think ive ever tried to hard tunnel before except maybe for some fringe matches where im down so far the game has switched to the goal being 1k.

So i suppose i may not have the most informed opinion but i do not agree that its the easiest way to win.

It may be the easiest way to win against new survivors.

but average and good players should be making hard tunneling either equal in effectiveness to not by the pace of gens you should be pushing(and assuming the tunneled survivor is able to stay alive for more than 5 seconds. if they cant, do they deserve to be in the game?) or less effective than spreading hooks.

I am of the opinion that if not playing against noobies, spreading hooks is substantially more impactful because you are guarenteed by doing that you should have at minimum 2 people off gens at all times and good chunks should be securing you 3 people off gens.

Hard tunneling allows for 3 people to comftorable sit on gens. That is significant in my view.

I myself do not even run gen regression much other than ruin in some builds as my name suggests i am a hex enjoyer.

I can only speak for myself, but not only do i RARELY see actual tunneling (maybe if i didnt play so much killer i would think there was more as i would be unaware of so many of factors that leads to consecutive downs without tunneling being intentional) and i do not lose games to tunnelers unless the team as a whole is just bad. and if thats the case we were going to lose the game anyways.

if a surv cant stay up long enough for even a short chase, then i feel its on them to make themselves less viable for tunneling. i am not good at chases as surv but i can hold my own or at least delay a bit and sometimes escape all together. but on many teams i am the one thats prime for it and yet its very rare to see. slugging for 4k isnt even that crazy common though probably 30-40% of the time

Ye, I am not talking about console players and there's a lot of pc players that are able to say GG, like I wonder why exactly do survivors say GG when the killer lost but basically never say it when the killer got a 3k/4k, they do sometimes.

I am not trying to complain, I am just saying this would make a better experience for a lot of people probably.

T-bagging is obviously a gesture created in gaming to annoy the other person and survivors will get annoyed if killer does a gesture like this (w+s and hitting on hook, I only do those when they t-bag). Ig hitting on hook and w+s is also a nothing gesture then.

i make an active effort to say ggs and glnm every match now regardless of if i won or lost or was stressed. I think its important to force positivity to maintain good mindsets and behaviors. it helped me anyways. I started doing this because i noticed the Streamer Slate doing that and i had alot of respect for that. i never said anything mean in chat when i was mad, i just wouldnt use it. but i think even if i have a rough match, it sends a grounding point where i have to take control of my emotions and show sportmanship.

Game needs more positive interactions 100%

edit" and yes hit on hook and tbag is a nothing gesture. it DOES nothing. Nothing Material that is. if you hit a surv on hook, the only way that becomes a problem is if the surv decides they should be offended by the act of you hitting them on hook. Thats objectively silly.

I understand the feeling but that is a very silly thing to get bothered by. and because its a silly thing to get bothered by and doesnt hold any real meaning, we should take steps to address how we react to that internally. it will help alot with how you feel when playing i promise.

I don't recall ever hearing that. I do recall hearing that matches are just 4 1v1s as far as MMR is concerned.

    • If a killer kills a survivor, the killer's MMR goes up and the survivors MMR goes down.
    • If a survivor escapes through a gate, the survivor's MMR goes up and the killer's MMR goes down.
    • Hatch escapes don't change either players' MMR.
    • Abandons cancel out these changes in all circumstances.

Of course, I could be wrong, but I don't recall hearing anything refuting this.

But if this is how it works then BHVR has never needed to track win rate as an evaluation of how an entire match played out. This system can create games where a killer could get a 2K and technically "win" (gain MMR) where 2 survivors die, 1 escapes out a gate and 1 takes hatch or abandons but never would a 2K be a killer "loss" where the killer loses MMR. Assuming a fixed and equal value for kills and escapes.

If there is any accuracy to my memory it may have been during the previous mmr system before the one we have now. It was a long time ago, ive played off and on for 10 years.

But thats how i had based my internal win/loss as when i was playing anyways

1 2 3 4 … 10
