I may get downvoted for this but I think it needs to be said

Plague can infect anything and everything that is interactable on the maps, and can keep people broken, even if that means she's an m1 killer, being broken permanently is a pain and always a death sentence, specially for solo que survivors, and if they and the only way to counter that is to max all the pools to reset them all? Not only that, but her m2 has insane range and can 2 tap people, and after that, she goes back to infecting everything, and keeps this frustrating loop in motion, which I'd a bad design, when wesker and krasue were released, they were broken, but now, they are balanced, however. The BIG DIFFERENCE is that their infections rarely and almost NEVER get to 100% bc they reset or disappear easily either by hook or the built in counter, while Plague doesn't have this issue due to how easy it is to infect everything, unlike the other 2, not only this, but the 1 gen lock down, regardless of build, is very annoying, bc she can infect everything, it literally depends on the generator distance and rng of the map, while yes, she is an older killers, but I think something needs to be done for the Plague to prevent this massive macro 1 gen pressure that seems impossible to win against, but then again... I could be wrong on this and be stupid because I don't go against her enough, but as a killer and survivor player, from both perspectives? It just seems like she needs to be looked at when compared to other infection killers and have severe limits on their infections, like losing it when hooked or the infection getting reset on hook

  • no. without what she has now, she has absolutely no danger potential except complete babies. Basic looping fundamentals should make up most of the time from a lost health state because she has no chase power and much of the time their chase time is wasted or heavily extended because they need to get you infected.

her infection IS her power. infection isnt the power for other killers, its just a component of it. Sure wesker can infect you and it will almost never actually come into play in a match. but thats ok because weskers real power is his dash. Something plague doesnt have.

The problem with The Plague is that she is simultaneously very weak, and very oppressive. her actual status as a killer compared to other ones lands her pretty low already on the tierlist BUT her entire playstyle and design is a very bad game design that feels oppressive to deal with.

DBD is marketed as a 1v4 but dominated by solo queue which is more realistically a free for all… even in higher MMR people prioritize their own escape over the team on a regular basis. plague offers two things: A complete and total shutdown of dozens of survivor builds and ideas, just no altruism in general, and also a Counter Play mechanic that often outright griefs the other survivors.

However SWFs can shut down The Plague pretty easily.

She also falls into the category of killers who immediately cause people to give up semi-often because her design is so annoying and tedious to deal with. if DBD did have a ban feature I guarantee The Plague would be banned by a good amount of people just because her entire design is at no point engaging or interesting… very few people like spending a match permanently broken and throwing up violently every few seconds.

The Plague cannot really be "nerfed" though, she'll be unplayable if that happens, she really needs to be totally redesigned but I highly doubt BHVR will do that, at least not for a long while as she's rarely played and fairly hated by survivors.

  • Just stay injured and don't use the pools, she is literally a M1 killer then, legion is stronger than her while he also makes everyone injured but he at least gains additional time because of mending and some mobility.

Her strong M2 is limited to one use if you don't use pools (more with add-ons and iri actually makes it shorter), she needs to go to a corner of the map (quite often, wasting 20 seconds) to activate it and wastes another 20 seconds going back and looking for survivors (losing pressure), she has 0 mobility to help her.

Also Infecting everything is not an issue if you just stay infected, you talked about everything infected like 3 times and you can avoid it/wait it out.

broken permanently is a pain and always a death sentence

Have you tried running away?, ghostface, Myers, bubba and hillbilly can insta down without needing wasting time to set up the infection (getting all 4 survivors infected wastes decent amount of time) and they get anti-loop as their M2 (ghostface excluded).

  • She has no mobility and we have gen kick limit nowadays. It's a slog to play vs but she's definitely not some unbeatable instawin killer. If they have thanat one person should cleanse and focus on gens away from the 3 gen to avoid infection. Everyone else just works on gens and preruns because again she's a standard 115% 99% of game.

  • Most people who play plague these days run her strongest addons, like the one which reveals your aura everytime you vomit paired with stealth builds or the like, or the one that gives her red vomit on a duration.

If you have healing builds just aggressively cleanse so long as she isn't camping, people cling way too heavily to old stay injured metas and she can more often than not struggle to keep up at good loops with her power, not to mention a good stun brings her out of purge.

More people need to cleanse if they dont want to deal with broken, red is an inevitability and not to mention she snowballs really hard if you don't. just cleanse away from the killer, coz if you make her go red her macro goes out the window (you can force her into red by everyone using all the available fountains)

Plus its a free heal mid chase if she leaves you. IDC what anyone says, red is only super dangerous in really really good plagues and also on bad maps.
