listen i really dont care how a Killer plays the game right now. You wanna soley focus on Kills like the great hockey player the Devs say you are? sure, go for it. i dont blame you, as you said that is exactly how the Devs want you to play.

You can hardcamp, hardtunnel and keep a close eye on your boxes, patroling them like gens - but dont just sit in front of one box and do literally nothing. all of the other scenarios have one thing in common: you are actually participating in the trial, which you can not say for someone that is sitting still in front of a box without moving.

defending a Pig doing that is about as stupid as defending a Survivor sitting in the same corner all game to "tactically wait out until all the others die and then escape through hatch". This isnt a strategy, this is straight up AFKing and ruins the game for anyone else who has to put up with it.

I genuinely have to question why you people even boot up this game when you refuse to actually play it and instead just sit in the same spot without doing anything. At this point you might as well just boot up Minecraft and stand still in front of a tree there - its the same level of excitement AND you dont actively ruin other peoples experience (but that is what its all about, isnt it?).

I find it amusing that you assume i play like that.

You don't know me and how i play, just like i don't know you and how you play.

For all i know you might actually play like something you described, who knows and who cares?

As long as it is not cheating, if that is your play style and it is whiting the rules of the game then by all means play like how you want to play.

Don't play like others expect you to play.

Just for the record, i jave stopped playing dbd for like 6+ months, just about a month after they forced MMR in this game.

Survivor was fun as it always was bit to boring to only play that.

Killer games became 5 to 7 minutes.

So yeah, now i play games where MMR actually works and was ready for it.

Tho it doesn't mean I stopped following and watching DBD.

Hoping to come back when the game is in a healthier state.

  • So I've heard as well, yet I've never seen any proof of that.

Yes I've seen stats on a leaderboard but never seen actual gameplay from them.

If they are really this good as nurse than they still have a lot to learn to become a decent survivor

  • @Sluzzy said:

The threads about killer being unfun and weak is getting old. Killers are not leaving either. Right now survivors are much faster to get in matches than killers during the peak of the day.

There has been 6 years of constant and unrelenting survivor nerfs to the extent that experienced killers practically never lose now because the game is so broken in favor of killer.

If you are not winning, all that can really be said is to git gud. Stop crying to BHVR to make the game easy for you. Survivors are practically spawning in the dying state as we speak.

And lastly, if you think killer is hard, please play solo matches. You will experience the hardest, most unfair, and most impossible thing in any video game. Survivors are extremely disadvantaged and this is why the game is losing its momentum. It is definitely not because "killers are weak".

Been playing solo from day 1 and i can tell you with absolute certainty that is not as hard as you make it sound, in all fairness it's a walk in the park when playing survivor.

Now don't get me wrong as this doesn't apply to everyone who plays survivor (you for example), some people are just terrible at making the right decision and think that side is terrible and in a bad state.

This goes for both roles btw and not only 1 side.

Just because you make terrible decisions doesn't mean that side you play is terrible to play, it's just you who make the wrong reads and makes the wrong decisions at the wrong time.

A little friendly suggestion for you, just record your gameplay and look back at it.

See where you can improve, look at what decision you made and if it was a bad or a good decision, evaluate your gameplay.

Just don't come bitching about what side is fair and which side is not, which side is harder and which is easier after you have some bad matches.

Calm down, watch back, learn and improve.

Yes i have done this many times with my gameplay and when i watched it back i realized it was me who was playing badly and improved it afterwards.

Also as a little side note to end this.

Neither killer should expect an easy 4K nor should survivors expect an easy 4E, simple as ๐Ÿค˜

  • You can only escape with a trap on through the hatch, whether it is active or not.

Try to go through the gates with a active trap on and your head will pop ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @Mister_xD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2894850#Comment_2894850

okay what part of AFKing in front of a box is "active" gameplay to you?

they literally refuse to play the game, that is the definition of AFKing.

Well technically they aren't refusing to play the game, they are refusing you to get the key out of the box ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‰

They just there to try an make sure you will die in the trial after all, kills only matters ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Don't blame pig, blame BHVR and Patrick for his hockey comparison.

Sure it might be really unfun and boring (i couldn't do it as i don't have the patience for it) you can pretty easily counter it l, even as solo.

Just pay attention to the icons of the survivors, if there's still 1 or more survivors with a trap on while you are close to finish the gen, then just 99 the gens.

Mostly it is just 1 survivor who will remain with a trap on so once 5 gens are at 99 then pop them at once and open the gates and get out asap, this way the trapped survivor can escape through the hatch.

Again it is boring AF, but not bannable and pretty easy to counter

  • @Nathan13 said:

Is it bannable?? Thinking about giving this build a try but I know itโ€™s really scummy to a lot of players. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Play how you want to play, not how others want you to play.

And to answer your question, no it is not bannable at all.

With a little luck the max you get will be a 1k and at worst a 0k, but that is if survivors know how to counter it.

  • @JeanCharpentier said:

Every ######### trial is like this, EVERY ######### trial

We do not understand, the game is perfectly balance, kill rate is 50%

When i listen your stream and read what you write, BHVR, i have just the feeling that you think we are fools.

They are just better at hockey then you, that's all ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚

One person on one gen taking 80 seconds is fine.

The problem is when 3-4 people are on 3-4 gens, with each one taking 80 seconds. That's not fine.

Gen progress should be slower for every gen being worked on beyond the first. That way, survivors are more encouraged to work as, you know, a team on singular gens, but survivors are punished for splitting their attention and trying to pop 3 gens at once. That would ALSO make the Shrouds make more sense (survivors use 'start together' to knock one gen out right away, while killers use 'start separate' to have split gens progress slower).

1 of the things as well is 99% of the time is that survivors spawn on gens already (can't believe i ever had to search for a gen tho), so the killer immediately starts at a disadvantage.

Survivors spawning on gens is basically the same as a killer who spawns on a survivor if you look at it.

Let the survivors spawn away from gens and have them walk or run to it, that's already a solution to the problem.

A minor solution, but a start at least.

Based on first post and their response to me "this is not fine...??"

Or am I blind. I think Im not.

He never said nerf the gen speeds, you only assume that.

There's nothing wrong with that as it's a human thing to assume something.

There are many reasons gen speeds aren't fine, just take a look at some perks that increase the gen speeds not to mention items and add ons.

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2886292#Comment_2886292

Yeah, increase gen speeds with all these slowdown perks. Makes perfect sense. Kill even more solo survivors and make the game feel like playing against pre nerf forever Freddy with every killer.

Where did he say that? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

ok so i get hook camped 7 out of 10 matches nothing i can do about it so how do i get MMR?? if i die 7 out of 10 matches there IS NOTHING i can do about it... i sit 2 min on a hook just to get 5k bp and having to fu**ing try hard skillchecks since the devs thought it was a good idea to remove the old stuggles so you actually have to focus on the game why isnt there a BP bonus for sitting on a hook for 2 minutes???

i mean if im being hookcamped for 120 sec thats 3 gens and idgf what anyone says im still distracting the killer and theoretically giving my teammates time to do gens so WHY isnt that rewarded?

So basically i have no idea on how to play this game i do a 80 90 second loop i get hookcamped i sit on a hook for 120 sec having to do skillchecks for half of that time while i get 8k bp or even less...

im tired of this ######### i swear to god im like being cursed or something... its a joke it started like 3 weeks ago and now its constant literally went from being hook camped once every 30th game to like 70% of my games....

Very simple solution to this and that is to do the dame as me.

I quit dbd entirely about 6+ months because my experience with MMR wasn't really enjoyable for me with games that end in about 6 to 8 minutes more often than not.

And as survivor i never had any problems and could always chill, but that got boring really fast.

So for now i am done with this game, and seeing more and more news of cheaters and hackers infesting this game, i have no hurry to come back anytime soon tbh.

  • @AsherFrost said:

What you are experiencing is caused by lag. There are a few things in this game that can work that way depending on your connection at any given moment. For example you'll vault a pallet and still get slapped, because the killer actually swung while you were on their side of the pallet, or as killer you'll hit a swing that you could have swore you saw hit the survivor, only for them to be on the other side of the window.

So, while to you it looked like he was closing it as you attempted your escape, to the killer it likely appeared he had closed it just before you got there, the server makes the final determination of the facts and timing, and found that you didn't get to the hatch in time. It's not about favoring killers, or even making it possible to close the hatch while survivors are escaping, it's just lag, common to any online multiplayer game

At least someone understands how it works

I fear it is to late for him to understand as he has told himself that he's right.

Some people just want to argue/fight with everyone who is not agreeing with them, even if they know they are wrong.

    Good luck ๐Ÿ˜‚

Just a little note because you have clearly not picked it up by now.

Looking at a previous post of you called "unhooked survivor" it is clearly that your internet connection is not as good as you might think it is.

Because if you had a good connection, than you would not have all these issues.

Nope, I did not. I never said it. Why do you think it's fair that the killer can close the hatch as YOU'RE ALREADY JUMPING IN? This is preferring the killer now.

Nope it just prefer the person with the best connection.

If you arrive at the same time as the killer and he's able to close it, that means he has a better connection to you.

Definitely not fun indeed i don't mind getting it from time to time, but not time after time.

2 times it was just the game and 5 times where the survivor brought the haddonsfield offering, so indeed 2 times without any influence of the survivors.

  • Only 2 times?

    You're a lucky one.

A while back I've been sent twice to haddonsfield by the game itself and 5 times by the survivors, all 7 times in a row.

On a tangent I never understood argument personally since they still show the Grades which leads to just as much elitism as the MMR, only of course itโ€™s sillier in that case because Grades arenโ€™t even part of the matchmaking at all but a lot of people still see them and assume if youโ€™re higher/lower grade then it means whether or not something you say matters.

Yeah i am with you, i never understood it either.

Like there is nothing gonna change from when we had ranks.

Now they still think the grades is an indication and use that in an argument, or they say they are high MMR so they know what they are talking about.

But there is no indication of an mmr score, and even if there was it would still remain the same.

Whether or not they will show the score, people will use it anyways to strengthen their argument

So I saw another post today of someone being accused of cheating and since these story often are funny or just ridiculous I thought we all could share some storys.

So my favorite one that happened to me was being accused of cheating because I play Demogorgon. Yep they thought he is gone completely and no that wasn't some new guy it was a group of survs with all over 1k hours.

And another nice one was some guy demanding I was cheating because wraith can be invisible.

Haven't played for around 6 months, but about 2 years ago I've been accused of cheating which was funny.

Playing wraith with all seeing -blood- and swift hunt against a blendette squad.

They really played on stealth (or tried to), they brought 2 purple mist, a yellow mist, and map offering, and me as well brought a purple mist.

They were clueless what my add on did (was before it was used a lot) and thought i was hacking because I knew where they were every time when they tried to hide.

Even when they were dead they never bothered to read my add ons and just started bombarding me with messages that i was cheating.

There was 0 chance i could know exactly were they were because they were hiding and there were no scratch marks.

Such a fun time that was ๐Ÿคฃ

Can we be given some kind of indicator of what our MMR is and what our opponents MMR is throughout the test?

Hahahaha you do know that will never happen right?

They won't show what your MMR is because of elitism/toxicity, so little to no chance that it will be shown during a test.

If they do show it during the test, then i will eat my cap ๐Ÿคฃ

They are super unfun to play against, if the killer has more than 2 braincells, itยดs most likely an easy 4k.

Victor can jump 1 Meter in each direction (above, beneath and behind) you, you will get hit. I know itยดs because of the ######### hitboxes from DBD in itยดs current state.

Maybe you guys can give me some advice but in my opinion, they have little to no counterplay (with the miserable hitboxes etc.). I played them some rounds (i barely play killer at all), and i had only 4kยดs, because it was super easy.

I like the concept of this killer, but the implementation is a dreadful catastrophe. With the upcoming tome and the many killers trying to do the rift challenges, this killer will pop up even more often, and it will suck a lot.

That is interesting, can't win so will stop playing? ๐Ÿค”

To counter them there is a simple counter to them, always run in pairs.

Should 1 get downed by Victor then the other kick Victor and start healing the downed survivor.

Sure Charlotte could be close, but then again you can't win them all an nor should you.

And should 1 be injured and the other healthy, then do what you can to position yourself between Victor and the injured survivor.

Also dropped pallets can help against Victor

In every game where dc penalties exist, it works like this as none of them can't see what the cause of the dc was.

I play killer mainly and I lost my ######### due to mmr and dead hard I don't know how this game used to be before mmr was introduced but I only started playing shortly after it so all my games had it ... First of all every game is sweaty the same 4 perks over and over and over mainly dead hard everyone is using it and form my experience playing online video games developers were always adjusting and balancing the game and the thing is whenever a perk or ability or an item is over used in any other game on the cost of the other ones it gets nerfed immediately so there is a balance and all playstyles are equal but this perk is just torture and pain as soon as I started red ranks my mmr skyrocketed it was so much fun before going against normal beginner players I enjoyed playing all killers then slowly I dropped every killer I had fun playing because they were useless m1 killers can't end a chase and don't let me started on gen rushing and boons even running a meta build of ruin undying and playing nurse or blight or huntress first all my hex perks get cleaned 1 second into the match because a survivor spawns directly near them then the other boon meta survivors are searching 24/7 for totems to bless so before and now it's 200% higher chance that survivors will find your totems and I'm only facing 5000 hours players same names keep showing up to me toxic sweaty swf every other match they use dead hard so basically 3 health states and if you keep chasing all gens are done if you give up and try to patrol that survivor will get on a gen it's mental torture why this game is so survivor sided ? I'm barely lvl 107 now but I had enough of killer it's too much and you think bloodpoints are good enough to make anyone play killer? if you tunnel you lose the game and end up with 1 kill if you don't tunnel 4 survivors can easily escape plus the clicky clicky tbagging bullies and Decisive strike and the terrible field of view and dark maps where you can instantly lose sight of Claudette's and survivors wearing black and maps are too big to patrol there is nothing you can do as a killer to win unless you're a 7k hours nurse main that never misses a blink or something the average player that wants to climb or have any fun has no chance I was lucky to hit rank 4 as my highest rank I couldn't do it anymore when ever I'm finally able to down someone they dead hard that's a whole new chase and everyone is body blocking hooks and sabotaging them how are you supposed to hook someone 3 times with all of this ? and they won't even let you do it body blocking you and sabotaging your hooks I just want to enjoy the killers I love playing why everyone is forced into nurse blight spirit to even have a chance and considering how difficult these killers are I'm not seeing any difference so I'll just try survivor for now until this state changes

Honestly I didn't read it, but MMR was for me the main reason to leave the game entirely.

Not sure whether or not something has been changed since the approximately 6 months I'm gone from DBD tho.

But unfortunately BHVR are very stubborn and won't remove SBMM, even if they know it will hurt the game.

Dead hard i never had an issue with, but they already confirmed they will change something about dead hard.

What they will change is still unknown other then soonTM ๐Ÿ˜‚

This just doesn't seem like a problem worth addressing. The killer does a meme that has a chance of getting kills but requires acting like a dick for an entire trial. The survivors can end the game and get some points. Who cares? This doesn't seem like it's taking the world by storm, it's trolling that's unlikely to kill you. Do gens and either die or escape. 75% is great odds.

Ever go against a SWF all running anti-hook builds? Sometimes the other team ######### with you. Make the most of it and queue up. The game is more fun when you don't take it seriously.

It's quite easy to escape tbh.

99 5 gens then pop them all at once (1 person does 2), open the gate and the survivors without a trap escape giving the last person with a trap the hatch.

Only when there are 2 or more with a trap on at the end, sacrifices has to be made.

But most of the times only 1 will have a trap on at the end of the trial, so pretty much a 0k/4E

Then you have Leatherface that completely prevents BT and DS from being used.

I never understood this thinking, that you have to walk around the map with Sprint Burst. I hardly ever walk around the map with Sprint Burst. I usually use it first thing to get to a gen and get working. By the time the killer is there, it almost always back.

Sometimes I think killer-mains have a preconceived notion that everyone walks with Sprint Burst. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

First of, not sure if you call me a killer main there ๐Ÿ˜…

If so than you are greatly mistaken, because when i was still playing this game i played both sides about the same amount.

Secondly, as i stated this was my personal opinion and for me I just dislike the perk to use over dead hard.

I am someone who show myself to the killer on purpose to get chased.

And it is extremely rare that when I'm running or walking to a gen and work on it, that i would get it back before the killer gets there.

Most of the time the killer has already seen me within the first few seconds.

It's great if it works for you and you like it, it just doesn't suits everyone just as you prefer SB over DH.

I've said this same thing a lot on here. SB is stronger and killers will realize that when DH gets nerfed. It's just that way more people use DH and SB is less common. Killers have it easier with DH.

Personally i disagree and this is how i look at it tho, i can't stand to slowly walk around the map to safe SB.

Especially as someone who loves being chased as much as possible.

SB to me only gives a little distance which as dead hard can easily baited out, if someone is walking then you know the have SB and you don't attack and just chase them.

With DH it can basically take a granted down away because of the iframes and create distance at the same time.

I personally have had more downs take away from me and longer chases as killer when someone had DH than survivors who had SB.

Survivors with SB (and this is my observation) are relying to much on that perk and think killers will leave them when the sprint away, the most of them usually are pretty bad at looping and will go down pretty fast.

I must admit, I was thinking if Dead Hard wasn't complained about then Sprint Burst probably would be.

I'm in the camp that Sprint Burst is actually stronger than DH when it's used in a specific way, although it's not as frustrating as Dead Hard is.

Personally my take on SB is that you are basically forced to walk around the map, if you want to use SB to get away from the killer.

It's something i always disliked about it and always forgot about if i equipped it.

I always start running at the start of the match, it became a habit to run.

Also i can't stand it to have to casually walk from 1 gen to another, or walk to wherever i want to go ๐Ÿ˜…

DH was always my only meta perk i used and where i would get the most benefits from.

Am very curious to see what will changed about DH, not that it will bring me back to the game but curious none the less

  • Simple solution to COH is something they should have done from the start.

Make it a limited use kike hexes are, high risk, high reward.

If a killer finds your boon and snuffs it, then you have lost your perk.

The fact that you can endlessly keep applying it to a totem was just a stupid idea.

I can understand that they might want to help new players, but they don't think further ahead.

Like those new survivors will get better at the game and thus making full use of COH, which will undo anything a killer done in just a few seconds.

If Charlotte is close by than though luck, better luck next time.

If you are healthy, than do whatever you can to put yourself between Victor and the injured survivor and make sure that he will lunge on you.

This. Exactly this. I saw a video two days ago of two twitch streamers going against each other, and the survivor was raging because the killer was slugging him. When you saw the killers stream, she did it because she felt bad he was on death hook and wanted to give him more chances at playing. He said he was going to report her, and he did via the in game menu. It was so stupid and cringe.

Yeah some people can't handle a loss even if the opposite team is being nice to them.

Saw a vid of twitch/youtuber who showed clips from another streamer.

That guy made a report about everything.

    Bodyblocking with bt

    Survivor wiggles off his shoulder

    Survivor using dead hard

    People using a controller

    Killer slugs

    Killer camps

    Killer tunnels

    Hitting a survivor on hook

    And a load more.

Makes you wonder why they would still playing the game, if they think these are all bannable offences ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Blight main venting. Get some friends. Try SWF. Eat less salt.

    You kidding me?

I love eating salt from people like you and your friends, the more salty tears you give me, the happier i get ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

One word - go and play automated trapper that has that addon ๐Ÿ˜‚ So get gut!

By the way - I can loop blight for 5 gens u blight main ๐Ÿ˜˜

So a avatar on here makes you main a certain killer?

In that case i think you rarely play as you only main the loading screen ๐Ÿคฃ

To be clear i main no killer and played them all as well as survivor.

And seeing you complain here i won't be surprised you might be able to run blight for 5 gens at low MMR ๐Ÿ˜‚

FYI You will lose to trapper with no perks and add ons ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

EDIT: the only killer I did main for a long time was a killer with a bell.

Let's see if you can figure this one out.

This was like 40 minutes ago, solo q mate said they'd make a post on why Sadako needs to be nerfed ASAP.

Still waiting to see it; surely it can't be 40 minutes of writing

That's probably gonna be a complete essay that the person is writing.

Might be finished somewhere next week ๐Ÿ˜‚

New killers are temporarily fun for one side - for survivors it is a disaster every time and it is permanent! Last 4 killers including this "Oreo" thing is like "ohhh..not this ######### again" every match you get with them! ALL my friends are saying the same!!! And new killer comes with new perks and ideas, so...It seems like DEVs want to make "ready to get 4k without any skills" killer. While for survivors it is getting harder and harder, including killer perks on auras, penalties and survivor slow downs ect. Now this new gen skillcheck system! Seemingly trying to make easier life for killers and harder for survivors!

I understand BHVR wants profit and new killers are the reason, but guys...imagine how hard it is for new players to start this game and how annoying it is for most survivors? IDK - maybe make DBD as a yearly subscription or something. Figure that out. Instead of this chapter nonsense.

Many ppl think this ship is sinking! Too much ######### in this game lately and STILL YEARS with the same problems survivors ask to fix...guess it is too much for dead-hard, hit registration including lag compensation that doesnt work, INVISIBLE objects around shacks and other objects you stuck on! As we don't ask nothing new, but just for things to work FOR BOTH SIDES!! Survivors want to see legit hits on their screens too, not just killers! In this case we are arguing with each other making this place so toxic, but instead this is a DEVELOPER issue that they can't or don't want to fix. Oops - DEVS are busy making a new killer, in between 'reshaping' some cosmetics.

1 word for you, git gud.

Or were that 2 words? ๐Ÿค”

I'm terrible with math, guess you're not the only one who lacks skill ๐Ÿ˜œ

I'd love to see some attempts to justify this thing that has become about 80% of matches against killers.

To be able to form my opinion i need more context.

    Is it during egc?

    Is it at the start?

Is it in a 3 gen area?

Do survivors immediately try to rescue?

There are so many possibilities where it may look like someone is camping, or actually is camping but is forced to do so.

You can't really justify something like that with no info whatsoever.

I may call someone out for face camping or tunneling, but I do it in a creative way. It doesn't mean I'm upset or crying over a loss.

and the best part. if I don't escape? my mmr goes down. doesn't matter if I do 4 gens solo, doesn't matter if i loop the killer for 10 minutes. and they get to escape, and they get the mmr increase. ######### amazing.

If you don't escape than you are not skilled enough for that MMR, sorry to say it.

    FYI I'm being sarcastic.

Blame Patrick for the bad SBMM/MMR

  • All i can say is, do what you feel like.

Imo prestige does nothing for me and i don't like the cosmetics either, on killer P1 is nice with the blood dripping from the weapons but that's all.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Was just thinking about what would actually bring me back to the game and would love to hear any ideas you have. Mine are these

    1. Actually taking map balance seriously. They had a chance with the realm beyond but didnโ€™t take it. Maps are in general too big and loop chaining makes rng play too big a role.
    2. Getting rid of the stale meta. Fact is buffing vigil by a bit isnโ€™t going to make me use it over DS or Dead hard. This goes for both sides. These perks are band aids for the gameโ€™s issues so ripping them off and getting to the root of the issue is the way to go imo
    3. If they are dead set on releasing a killer every 3 months making them unique is key. Sadako is nice in this regard but killers like artist drew up 0 hype and had no impact on the game past their initial release. Iโ€™d rather have a weak killer who brings something new to the table than a rehash of an older idea.
    4. More Jeff cosmetics (no more leather jacket and jeans though)

If these actually happened Iโ€™d probably come back but with how the game is I see no reason to.

What would bring me back fast is the removal of SBMM/MMR.

I didn't enjoy it before i left as my games were mostly about 7 minutes as killer.

When i play killer i love to use different build, but when the games ends as fast as they start then the fun ends pretty quick.

Before anyone thinks i want to stomp new survivors, no i don't.

My games as survivor were basically the same i tried on purpose to prolong the game a bit.

But playing survivor only becomes really boring for me as it is for me very easy mode unfortunately.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

Trust me, I get it. But consider that a map offering is not always a strategy or an abusive map/loadout combo, sometimes people just get bored of the maps they're receiving and want to play in a certain realm.

I got tired of seeing Midwich every 2 games today and decided to use a map offering for a realm I thought would be refreshing and relatively balanced, so I picked Crotus Penn. I attempted to use the offering twice and both times, the killer task manager'd on me. Maybe it's karmic retribution for the lobbies I've dodged, but what the hell does the killer think I'm gonna do on Crotus Penn? If I wanted to be a dick, I'd use Ormond or Gideon Meat Plant.

Point is, consider what you know about the map being offered before you dodge; because if it's not an obvious survivor playground, there's a good chance that the user is just wanting to play a realm they haven't seen in a while.

That could be, but you can also look it the other way around.

Why does the killer dc on that map?

I've done the same thing before and there was a very good reason for it.

If I'm being brought to haddonsfield for the 7th time in a row (not joking this actually happened) you damn right I'm gonna dc in the loading screen, even the 2 times after it where they wanted that map again.

Long story short, there's always 2 sides of the coin.

You might think the killer dc because you brought him there to have an advantage or something, while in fact he might have been brought there several times before you took him there ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love the classical buff Blight again when heโ€™s easily top 3. With Nemesis and Twi s getting nerfs

Where did he say they need to buff blight?

All he said they nerfed mediocre killers, last time i checked blight does fit that description ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I admit I wanted MMR and supported it in most discussions. However I was sold a false promise of every killer would be on it's own MMR. So I could try Nurse/Blight/Billy etc and not have to get steamrolled by my normal opponents. The 1st/2nd test I loved worked perfect for me not sure how we got this current version but had I known I would have been against it as well. False promises are bitches.

The reasoning behind that is because the devs feared for the new players.

Because you have knowledge of the game they think you will steamroll new survivors (probably would) and thus killing the fun for them.

So de went for an average score for all killers, so you basically can really learn anything when trying new killers because the matches go to fast if you're learning.

But the devs forgot 1 crucial part of it when going against newer players.

Yes you might steamroll them and maybe the next match as well, but your score will be increased every time so every match you get better survivor that are more to your level.

And that way they will put up more of a fight then when you just started trying that killer you never played.

  • @Advorsus said:

We're on our 6th month of SBMM, and can honestly say, it's worse than before. Yes, in theory and on paper, it's better. And if it actually worked that way it would be. But it simply doesn't.

Before you'd have mostly even games, with people running all different kinds of builds. Occasionally you'd have survivors in red ranks that weren't actually supposed to be there. Or you'd go against rank 20 survivors when you're rank 1, or you'd go against a full sweat squad, but it wasn't every single game.

Now however it's one or the other. You're either going against baby's, or full squads running full meta builds.

Just last night alone, very first match went against a wraith that had 1 yellow wraith perk and less than 10 hours in the game total. Now I'm not a top tier survivor, but I'm decent. And the randos I was with were decent and they all had full builds of the most meta perks. The wraith got 2 hits the entire match.

Very next match, I'm paired with extremely bad survivors. And I end up going against a top tier killer main TTV that has thousands of hours in the game. I know his gameplay, as I've watched him before, and know he's really really good. Far better than the people he was playing against. Every survivor I had on my team had 1-2 perks and less than 50 hours combined. I only have about 70 on survivor as I mainly play killer.

When I play killer, this is every match for me as well. It's usually a full team of meta survivors and the match lasts 5-7 minute, and I'll get anywhere between 4-8 of those in a row, and then I'll get a full team of baby survivors who don't deserve having to go against me because I'm actually pretty good on killer. But there's no in between. Nobody running interesting fun builds anymore, it's either full meta all around or nothing.

Like I get that they said it was due to backfill. But it's been 6 months! Six months of a large majority of players having to deal with this and still no fix. All we know is it's being worked on. It's no wonder people are leaving in drones. This system right now, is not better than the old emblem system by any means.

    Well eeeeeeeeeuh๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Told it would be a bad decision to implement SBMM

I didn't leave the game for no reason 2 months after they put in that crapy system ๐Ÿ˜‚

You don't need the 6th... once you have the actions of the 5 participants, you can generate the state of the game at any singular point

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2819507#Comment_2819507

I do believe each client receives all updates (so regardless of what you can see, your game client is aware of what every other player has done and is doing)... so in theory it should be possible to record. The problem is the "language" of the updates not being such that can be recorded to file easily.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2819580#Comment_2819580

The way the devs come across to me is that they want to do as little work as possible, the reason why about 90% of the time they soon.

TBH, given how very readily they manage to break seemingly easy things, I'd be very scared of them implementing such a system. They'd probably break the game in some ridiculous ways. See Nurse's current status for more.

Oh trust me i know that all to well, and I'm scared they will break the game as well if they implement it.

My only point was that they say it isn't possible while other games show it is possible to do.

They just don't want to put much effort into it because of the work, and we all know that they don't like that.
