Because, as they have said multiple times in their Q&A’s, that would require the game to be built with that in mind from the very start.

In effect, a “replay” system requires the game to ‘record’ the match, in its entirety, for 5 players, plus a 6th ‘free’ PoV. Every single meter moved, every single input, every single skillcheck, recorded, AND made to function normally in-play. That’s not as simple as “just add it”.

I kinda disagree with them on adding a replay function.

Rainbow six siege is an older game and they never planned a replay system from the start, yet here they are and implemented this last year.

And there is way more happening in that game than in dbd, and there are even double the amount of players on the map than dbd.

There's a difference between not willing to and not able to, and imo bhvr is not willing to

  • @Marc_123 said:

    Watch the last Q&A stream.

Game was not designed for this from the start - now it is too difficult to add.

Of course they could add it if they want to but there is no incentive.

The way the devs come across to me is that they want to do as little work as possible, the reason why about 90% of the time they soon.

Take a look at rainbow six siege, they never planned a replay system from the start and only implemented this last year, and that game is 7 years old now.

That's why imo they come across as lazy (and many other decisions they make), as they want to make something work with as less possible work.

I could be wrong tho, but we'll never know.

Of course it takes a while to unlock all perks if you can play only 1 or 2 hours per day.

But i played other games where i needed to play 2 weeks to unlock something, knowing that the grind in DBD is not that bad.

Either you are trying to troll or you actually have no clue about the grind.

I already know we will never agree on this subject so I'd say we agree to disagree

According to steam i played 7200 hours, in reality more like 2500 hours.

At the beginning i played only killer and now its 50/50.

When i play DBD for a day and no other games i get 2-3 million BP, so it does not take very long to get all perks unlocked and to lvl. 3.

Ok this i find hard to believe unless you play from early to really late and nothing else.

Let's say you get 2 mil on 1 day.

This means you need to get perfect score every single match (no extra bp offerings) and do that 63 times.

So that is pretty hard to believe, even with extra BP offerings you still need a lot of games.

My other point is that you play a lot and thus can unlock more than someone who doesn't have as much free time as you, or even new players will take forever to get all perks unlocked.

So don't get me wrong, but you just showed to yourself that the grind isn't fine as you claimed.

When you played from the beginning or you play a stupid amount of time, than you can grind easily.

Especially when you started playing 5 years ago, then there weren't that much chapters yet and so you could get every perk pretty easily.

But if a new player starts playing today, then they are busy for at least 1 year minimum to get the perks that are in the game at this moment in time.

  • @omegalul said:

    The grind is totally fine.

Maybe the Devs should sell BP paket for Auric Cells, if so many people have a problem with the grind they can buy BP.

Just a genuine question, well 2 actually.

How long have you been playing this game?

And my second question, what side do you play mostly?

  • @BoriskyTheFox said:

I mostly use dbd's steam forum and most people there think the game is survivor sided. Looks like this forum isnt so different than steam forum because i have seen many people here who think dbd is survivor sided as well. I just want to know why so many people here think killers are weak. Because i think its literally the best time to play killer. Killers have way stronger things than survivors do. I think the only good thing thats left for survivors is SWF. Killer Meta (especially DMS + Pain Resonance) is stronger, maps are weak for survivors , hex totems are stronger than boon totems (I know boon totems can be reblessed but killers can destroy it instantly so reblessing is just a waste of time).. I looked at kill rate stats and its above average, so it proves that killers are stronger than survivors. I think those who think survivors are stronger clearly havent played survivor enough. Soloq is a mess, its a horrible experience.. my mmr goes down because of my teammates mistakes and its not fair. Looping the killer nowadays is too hard as well due to the anti loop killers they have recently released. So, what makes you think DbD is survivor sided?

It all depends on from where you watch it.

If you are lower MMR than the game is definitely killer sided because you are still learning, which is why you see many facecamping bubba's.

If you're higher MMR than the game is definitely survivor sided.

There the survivors know the weaknesses of the killers and will take advantage of that, plus they are very optimal on gens.

The problem with BHVR is that they are trying to balance around low MMR, no other developer does this as they all balance around high MMR.

That's because once the people at the lower MMR starts to get the hang of the game there starts to be a balance shift, which happens very noticeable in DBD.

I can understand that it might be difficult when you just start playing, but the way they are trying to balance it now is doing it backwards.

Also i have to disagree that solo is a nightmare as i only played solo and had no problem escaping most of the time.

Cross map Hatchet hits with Iridescent Head were funny, not fair, but funny

Definitely funny, but how big are the chances that will happen a lot.

Once it happens 1 time, you just make sure you are behind something when they hook someone.

Never happened to me tho, the only time i got downed by a iri head was making a bad read or just got caught out in the open.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2807074#Comment_2807074

Pre-nerf Iridescent Head was a problem imo. 3 instadown Hatchets could do a lot of damage. Now that you only have 1, I think it's a little more reasonable.

Pinky Finger was never a problem. It was balanced, it made Clown actually scary when you were out of position. It still had the same counter as normal bottles, pre-dropping Pallets. With Pinky Finger, you just had to play more careful and not wander into dead-zones

I personally never had much issues with 3 hatchets but that's just me.

They could do a lot of damage if you let it happen tho, which will be usually against solo players or people who just run in a straight line.

Pinky Finger, Iridescent Head, Nurse and Spirit have already been nerfed, some of them quite recently. You jsut can't get over the fact you're bad at the game can you?

Glad I'm not the only person who thinks this.

I always loved going against nurse and spirit because they make you play differently and actually think ahead of what you are planning.

Can't believe people still cry over these 2 add ons as well, cause imo the were never really a problem to begin with.

The times i got actually downed by 1 of them i can count on 1 hand 😂

    Might be both 🤣

He's talking about facts and yes i have seen many complaining from him/her, so I'm curious about his so called facts and how he came to that conclusion.

Especially the so called fact that was said in this thread.

  • If you are truly stating facts than do show those facts.

Where is the info that so many survivors are leaving the game?

Where is the info (if you think this is true) that every or almost every game is a camping bubba?

Where is all the other info for your so called "facts"? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'll await your findings and how you came to your conclusion, until than they are no more than a speculation of a salty player 😉

Or just learn how to play against him instead of nerfing every killer you don't like.

Thats why I can loop him so much as I played bubba for a good while to a point where my friend said I'm a bubba main like I learned his weaknesses and have adapted them into my running practice lol

And that's the best way to learn if you struggle against a killer, play both sides which let's you realize the strength and weaknesses of both sides.

Unfortunately there so many people who only play survivor and never or once every blue moon touch killer.

And then you have people (like op) who refuse to learn anything because in their head they are such good players and the problem isn't on their side.

  • @SilentShepherd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2802861#Comment_2802861

I am an Iri 1 survivor. Youre not running good Bubbas for 3 gens dude.

Your grade means jack sh1t now, it's only to show how much you played this month that's all it does, nothing more nothing less.

If you really think you bubba is OP or his powers is OP, than i suggest you play him for a few weeks and see how others will counter you.

And if you can't play him then i suggest you watch some gameplay from others playing against him.

He is nowhere near OP as you make him sounds to be, it more that you either lack the skill to play against him or you are playing way to greedy.

You just need to practice more against him and you'll get better if you really want.

  • @SilentShepherd said:

This is really needed. I am tired of Bubba getting instadowns from the 1st minute of the game because his BASEKIT allows him to swing his chainsaw and STILL turn hard corners and chase anyone down.

Everytime someone complains about this, a lying poster will say "just turn corners to force him to hit a wall" but this never works. Bubba's can turn ANY hard corner and keep swinging and then instadown you from healthy to dying state.

He doesn't have to charge up anything, doesn't have to stalk you, or use an add-on. This is beyond stupid and toxic. This is UNFUN for Survivors. I get it, Bubba players love it. But if something is really unfun for one side, it needs balancing.

2 very simple solutions against it.

    1. Don't get caught in a deadzone.

    2. Gid gut

And I'll throw in a 3rd for free.

    3. Stop whining

  • I had done it on the game map, midwich and any farm map, it just depends on how smart the survivor plays it.

I had a Myers trying it on dead dawg saloon but failed with every attempt of mori me.

All i did was using a locker, repairing a gen, slow vaulting a pallet or window and when he stood next to me while i open the gate, i just used dh as soon as the gates open making him going for an attack instead of the mori.

So it is possible to do it on every map, it just depends on the survivors if they use these things against you and whether or not they let themselves getting zoned out.

They had no "Hope" or anything to allow that speed bonus. They have this symbol for crossplay but as far as I know cheating on console is extremly rare so it must be Epic or Microsoft store people, which by the way was the dumbest thing BHVR ever done (which is really difficult), give away a game for free on EPIC gives hackers infinite accounts to try out hacks! that such a spit in the face to everyone who paid for it!

We can see the difference because of Otzs movementspeed but when I (or you) play killer its difficult to see the difference, you run behind a survivor and it just feels weird its like playing a tier 1 myers or 110 killer, its not a "BIG" difference but at the end it safes time and shifts the balance. And on the reseaving end you are wondering if you suck out of nowhere or you are just crazy.

The worst part is those "modest" cheater dont even think they are doing something wrong just like those stretched res user! They think: "the game balance is not as I want so I will adjust it to my liking, so its not cheating but restoring justice"! That is their mindset! I would rather play against a real hacker with gmod then such narcissistic crap!

Let me get clear at something: I dont know how anticheats work so I will now assume something:

BHVR pays EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) for protection, but what is EAC even doing? I once googled for a mod for Resident Evil 2 and got on a side where they also shared DBD hacks and people were using them, sooo why does EAC not download this hacks themself reverseengeneer them and then close the loophole? One can say its not that easy, true... BUT EAC sucks a f.. lot! EAC is as helpful against cheating as chain link fence against a flood.

The worst part of modest cheater is there are more then you know, they could hide behind every lose and even if they are only 1 in 100 games you lost the knowledge that they could be there is poisining the mood to play this game! Here one other hack you dont see as killer or survivor if the "modest" cheater does it correct:

    https://www.twitch.tv/angrypug/clip/SleepyRichBearJKanStyle-8KJcvAwQh_W2FnVl?filter=clips&range=7d&sort=time

DEAR BHVR we need the same system that csgo has! a small 10kb file that holds all information about a match that we ourself can also replay! this way we could atleast detect and send you the game! i am not going to record every game i play and go through tedious processes just to report one person! dear bhvr just ask valve for the system, they will give it to you and I am sure they will not even charge you for it, just ask them for help!

Even rainbow six siege has a replay function.

The fun part is, they didn't need to build the game again from scratch kike BHVR mentioned they would need to do that.

Just shows how terrible their coding is if you need to build the game from the ground up to get this function in.

  • Fastest hit? i have no idea.

    Fastest win?

4:24 on the old game map with scratch mirror Myers.

It's just a normal podcast where you can say what is on your mind.

Hell, even lord tony has done it.

  • @Zenologic said:

The EGC should start as soon as the last gen is done. So survivors can't just 99 a gate and run around for as long as they want being toxic. The point of the game for survivors is to escape not be toxic and bully killers so this should help with sense of urgency. They could increase EGC to 5 minutes so they have some time to find each other and get unhooks but that's it. I also think survivors should get another objective besides gens but that's a rant for another time

The EGC isn't the problem if you ask me.

You can open the gates yourself if it takes to long for you.

What they should change imo, is that you can't 99 the gates.

In other words as soon as they release the lever for the gates, the meter will start to decrease.

So if they leave it alone to long, they need to start all over again and giving you more changes to kill them

And what is this for? There is already grind for cosmetics in form of shards, which you can actually skip by paying for cosmetics.

Now, what does grind for bp do? The only thing it really does is strenghtening the gap between players who play since the beggining and newcomers.

Grind is probably one of the most offputting things in this game, especially with the mmr that is not working correctly making it even more apparent that if you don't have meta perks or play like a scum you wont get far.

No matter how wide the hitbox is, it is hidden by the wall, and if the verdict is correct, there is definitely a problem.

Do developers only play Huntress characters? To be honest, if you raise your hand and follow it, the hitbox is too wide.

    So it cannot be avoided.

While Huntress is chasing survivors, you cannot use Pallet Looping on low structures.

    That's a valid hit.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/308356/ptb-advantage

Probably due to time and money...it's a massive investment to make changes, and if the design team (or any other department) have enough of an idea about whether or not something will work, then creating builds to put on the PTB just to have that notion confirmed is rather pointless and a waste of manpower, the people could be working on things that they know would work instead.

    Is it tho?

I mean they must have something ready to test, so why not let the community test stuff to see what they come up with the findings?

I mean if you do something for a long time you get tunnel visioned whether you kike it or not.

So it may seem to the devs that something might or might not work, but there's a big possiblity that they miss something.

And having some fresh pair of eyes (in this case a few thousand of pairs 😜), it can really help them work out problems.

Imo the PTB can be used so much better than how it's used now.

Yes, some people start to harass over a single game. Had also someone like this who sended me a daily message on my profile.

    Its ridiculous!

Yeah it is really sad and ridiculous that people go to these lengths over a game.

It's not like you will see them every game, a few if lucky but not every single game.

Even if you would then harass the other over a game is sad.

Even had a 3 man swf sandbagging me several games because they lost while sandbagging me the first time.

Didn't actually thought of it before, but in hindsight i could even report them for that.

But tbh it was so fun to see them try so hard to make sure i would get hooked and failing at it, and they just get hooked and i escaped 😂

Well eventually they finally got it to work and i was ofcourse 1 hooked, but only at the endgame.

All because i just didn't care and went for the safe 😅

It's just sad the lengths people will go to over a game

  • @Tsulan said:

You have to see it the other way around.

Killers often gen negative profile comments for playing totally fair. Just because the survivors felt entitled to escape for reason X.

Now after some time, the killer might think, why not play scummy anyway? Since he'll get the negative comments no matter what.

It's like those guys that belittle the killer after they won, when the killer had a bad match. What do you think they attempt to achieve?

Yup absolutely agree, and the worst part is that there are people who just can't let go and move on.

I remember i had 1 survivor who was like that even though I played as nice as possible and got a 4k with 12 hooks.

You could even hear me say when i saw him that i see him hiding but he can go and help and heal the other survivor while i chase another.

He spent an entire year and every week putting negative comments on al my YT vids and dislike them.

Eventually i just banned him as it became very annoying to even get salty comments on other games that he didn't play when i stopped playing dbd.

I kinda feel sorry for those people who get stuck in a negative spiral and just has to take it out on others.

Im not surprised he/she got so many pages full of negative comments, there are a lot, and I mean a lot of salty people.

Sure camping isn't fun but it's part of the game, just deal with it and move on it's not that difficult trust me.

That last part of what you said makes me think about what peanits said about mmr when it was released.

It was to difficult to explain according to him.

Q&A comes up and they acknowledge it was indeed based on kills and escapes 😂

Yeah that was really difficult to explain indeed, way to hard for me to understand how it works 🤣

  • @freak_115 said:

When is the game finally going to remove SWF?

    1. it only encourages more ppl to play survivor and harras the killer

    2. there isn't supposed to be communications in a game wich is a 1 (killer) v 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 (survivors individually), If survivors don't go for unhooks, they lose, so that way they're forced to teamplay but not OP teamplay with coms and stuff...

SWF should have never been a thing ESPECIALLY NOT if the game developpers keep deciding to nerf killer and buff survivor, Killers really need a change or we will have to tunnel & facecamp forever in order to get 1. pip-up while a survivor needs to do jack ######### and still gets 1 even 2 pip-ups. It's disgusting SWF needs to be removed for the health of the game

Swf isn't the actual problem and shouldn't be removed, it's a bad move for the game life.

They need to adress the imbalance of this game and balance it better (i know it's not easy for a asymmetrical game), the game speed and the viability of the killers.

Adres that and you'll see that swf becomes less of a problem, it will be still strong but more doable imo

  • @StarLost said:

    At least at night?

Seriously, there must be such a deficit of killers right now that as soon as survivor count reaches a critical mass, it's just...not fun anymore. Games will be ridiculous, unfun and I have to dodge multiple lobbies in a row to avoid crazy 3000 hour SWFs - which only makes the problem worse.

During the day, matches feel mostly even. I'll win some, lose some - but never feel like I have no chance. At night though, I can go from rolling over a team of newbies to sweating for my 2 hooks and getting teabagged all the way to the exit gates by a sweaty SWF with more hours in this game than I spent getting my Masters.

On top of this, everyone and their cat is running frigging Boil Over right now, and even when it's not being used to take the match hostage (which I've seen no less than 5 times in the last few days - as soon as it's RPD, I may as well just DC and save myself the headache of bleeding people out - and I save more time in the bargain) it's just annoying.

Honestly, I think that until the much lauded SBMM changes go live, it's probably going to have to be a hiatus again. Because this game is the opposite of fun right now - and I say that as someone who prefers SBMM to ranks.

    Right now?

Nah mate, i left 3 months ago already because it wasn't fun anymore.

At least not for killers, i have switched to survivor only but that became so boring really fast that i decided to throw in the towel after being here since day 1 on the console release.

I had a game against a nurse that ended with the nurse getting first hook in the basement, 4 gens left and the killer decided to proxy camp the survivor, I decided to just quit, I wasn't in the mood for that type of lazy gameplay. I had another game where I had to wait for a demo to find the hatch first before hooking me, because he was afraid I would wiggle off, before any killer mains comment, no I did not have a wiggle build. I just can't figure out why killers are so desperate for 4ks, are the devs giving away cash prices, when did this game become so toxic, can I get a normal game without killers playing like there lives depend on it

Why are you so desperate to escape?

Cause if you weren't, you wouldn't be here complaining about a killer who tries to win or you wouldn't even dc.

  • I Would make a screenshot if i could.

The problem is that after 5 years enjoying the game, my enjoyment was ripped away from me with the introduction of SBMM.

Which is a shame because this game could have gotten far and i always enjoyed the events.

Here's hoping for a better future.

Oh, here it is! 🎻 😢

The Haddonfield map and the Strode Realty Key offering have been disabled.

I guess I’ll just have to manage without survivors sending me to Haddonfield for a while. 🤷‍♂️

Here have mine, i would love to hear that sound all day for it being disabled 😂

Otherwise just play another game. There's a great post on the forums explaining if you guys can't comprehend it.

The problem with sbmm is the fact that they implemented it before actually looking at more important problems before putting sbmm in the game.

2nd problem is that they implemented a system that belongs in competitive games, yet they try to balance around casual play.

The devs want to go into 2 directions at the same time with the game which will never work.

If you think about it, COH is the complete opposite of NOED. I mean really think about it.

Yes they are both bad perks, there's only 1 big BUTT

Noed can be destroyed entirely and there won't be a chance for it to come back, COH (or any boon for that matter) can't be destroyed and will be coming back.

So in a way COH is a stronger perk as it gives unlimited healing and can be activated indefinitely as long as the player is alive, while NOED will (if you let it happen) only activate at the end of the match.

So are they really both opposite of each other, i don't think so.

I think I know what Patrick is trying to say but he worded it wrong. His programmer brain is showing here so strongly. In terms of their algorithms that are judging MMR and to keep it simple as possible, he must have win conditions. Imagine something can keep track of chases and determining skills from that.  But most importantly I think they don’t want a system that is giving a survivor a win for dying, which the objective is to survive. Same for killer, I think they want killers to climb MMR that can kill.

It would seem weird to have all 5 players climb MMR if all four escape, or all four die. Somebody has to win.

The problem with the current version of the sbmm is that you get killers and playstyles that you enjoy so much, like facecamping bubba.

Because kills matters and he'll down someone and just camp him to death and even another or a 3rd even, so this is apparently more skillful than a killer who goes for hooks. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The same goes for survivor side.

I can hide the entire game and let you and 2 others do the gens etc, and then I'll just run out through the exit gates and apparently I'm more skillful than you 3 who did gens, healed, looped the killer, etc. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Tell me which of the 2 options from both sides do you enjoy more?

I just think they should take whatever happens in between in account to the score in the end.

These things can easily be implemented by a point system to actually judge real skill.

So when a survivor who does nothing gets extremely low points than someone who actually is active.

And same with killer who gets 4 hooks 4 kills than a killer who get 12 hooks and 4 kills.

Right now the system is just a complete joke which frustrates the majority of the playerbase.

Ok, i need a link to that. Because as far as i know, he said that skill leads to more escapes, and therefore escapes are a viable measurement. Which is completly different from what you claimed he said. So i need a source to verify your claim about what he was saying.

Also, i know that parts of the community think the game is only about chases and looping the killer, but it is not, as is evident in the stance the devs take here.

I have shared the link to the Q&A with a time stamp on page 1, so feel free to watch it 😉

I don't think that chasing and looping is the only part, i think that that has to be taken in account as well.

For example i can hide anywhere in the map without ever seeing my teammates or the killer and just wait till all gens are done, then open the gate and escape, now would you consider that skill especially in a team game?

Or the killer just decides to just go only after me and ignoring everyone and everything else (happened a lot)

Then he gets me eventually and my teammates just leave, would you consider that skill or fair? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyway just check it out and especially how he explains it.
