To be fair, the killer can see through the walls too? Making it harder for survivors to hide behind them?

It is true but killers being able to see survivors and survivors being able to see the killers is not the same.

Also if they have the same advantage, I don't see any problem to change the walls tbh.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Oh man, that very slight grey is so unplayable.

I have the same picture in macmillian, it is not in every single map. Do the same thing in yamaoka estate and the swamp without changing your settings, I will control mine.

Also that slight grey still affects grass heavily, which is one of the most important clues for the spirit.

  • Corn is thicker, I figured that out as well.

Are they gonna change it? Coldwind maps have visible walls from the beginning and the devs still didn't give us walls like those in the macmillian estate. Survivors can literally see the killer through walls. Good design.

The visibility has deteriorated, the fog has become more, the blur has increased, the brightness of the generators is too high, the brightness of the Spirit in the ability is EXTREME.

It became IMPOSSIBLE to play. You are able to sell DLS, but to listen to your customers / players - no.

The only thing that brought at least some pleasure in the game was the Spirit and you DESTROYED it with this update, which NO ONE WORLD ASKED FOR IN THIS WORLD.

Until everything is returned as it was, for me this game is dead.

Let now play this themselves, and buy the DLS themselves too.

I genuinely dont see the complaint. Maybe your drivers are off or something. There are some spots that are brighter now, but it's mostly more crisp textures. In no way has my game looked like that second picture....

The fog looks better, and us useful instead of just hogging resources. The lighting and effects look better imo as well.

It is evident that you don't touch the spirit.

The game of course doesn't look like that second picture. It is the spirit world that does look like the second picture.

She is almost unplayable. This should have been number 1 complaint about this patch.

  • I don't understand why people overlook this. It is a very important problem and the effect doesn't just make it difficult but also not really good looking or anything. It must be exactly the same before.

  • Okay I might be stoned to death for saying this but this new buff to him sounds really good if I didn't misunderstand it.

If you stay injured, you will take 3 hits in frenzy mode to go down. Since the first two hits are almost free, it will make you go down with 2 hits while allowing you to vault windows and pallets with increased speed.

So, either the game is gonna take forever to finish due to healing or you take the risk and not heal yourself.

Still boring to play against him but we should wait till they introduce this buff.

  • Though I think that it is boring and lazy to camp, you just can't blame killers for doing that. It is a reality of the game and you need to be able to play around it.

In the low ranks, there is not much you can do but as you climb higher, equip borrowed time and try to save them like when there is 10-15 seconds for the survivor to go to the second or death phase. Hopefully, she or he will be a good runner and you will save her through adrenaline.

If this was a larger company, akin to EA or Activision, players would leave the game in droves thanks to his wokeness. Why aren't the DbD players more critical towards Mathieu and his drones?

I stated this in another thread.

There is not enough games in this genre, people don't have any place to go at all.

They won't be able to take this arrogant attitude when the new slasher type games come out.

If someone is having so much trouble facing Legion that they have to DC, then they should honestly stop playing. Legion is way too easy to beat.

It is not about challenge at all, I rather face nurses for that matter.

Whenever they do that moonwalk, I just roll my eyes. It is so boring yet it is the most effective and efficient way to play the legion. I can't blame killers for that at all.

I rather get downed by a nurse in 20 secs. At least I would know that she put a lot of hours and became a very skilled killer in the first place.

People DC against Legion because they're not fun to go up against. You're doing one of three things against them:
    1. Spending too much time gen rushing
    2. Spending too much time mending (which is also holding M1)
    3. You get tunneled out of the game because they just use their power to rush you down.

This doesn't mean they're strong. They're still pathetically weak. But it means that they can tunnel really well, the dead opposite of what they designed them to be.

This. The tedium of mending and then healing any time you take a feral fury hit is a drag. Its not that Legion is a challenge. Just tedious.

Not challenge, just tedious is the best explanation tbh.

And they thought that the legion was fun for both sides.

    You are kidding, right?

    Yes and no.

Survivors are, for the most part, really strong at chases against most killers. Both aspects of the game can not be strong for one side.

If it is easier to chase, then finding people should be difficult.
If it is easier to find people, then chasing people should be difficult.
If both are difficult or easy, then why does the opposite side take the easy or difficult end of the stick.

That shows what's actually going wrong in this game right now.
People think it is about chasing.
Killer should be the one looking forward to chases and are those that should win chases aynway.
Survivor should be afraid of getting caught, because getting chased should be bad for them, but in fact they enjoy it as "the game".

The game is not designed around this. Finding survivors is easy since their objective is stationary. It is not because you are so good at the game that you find survivors, it is because their objective doesn't allow them. This is also the reason why they can actually take the game hostage at the end. In that large map, it is difficult to find survivors since you don't know where you should look at. To make this game about 'stealth' you have to change the entire game, from perks to main objectives, pallets and windows to map designs.

The devs themselves stated that the game will be around chases, not stealth.

If you really think that the game is about stealth, then this game is not for you at least for now.

  • The core value is not hide and seek, it is chasing.

It would be a little silly to release a winter event in fall, though. Winter doesn't start until the 21st. There's still plenty of time.

This most probably means that there is not gonna be a winter event tomorrow or before 21st.

I remember when you said that the rumor that the spirit will be released Tuesday 1 week before her actual release was pure speculation.

I would love to say definitely but I will go with most probably, further evidence and observation required.

  • One thing I want to add to this thread is the ability of slugging. If a killer can slug, that means that killer is good for the most part. This is why clown is not considered to be a top tier killer even though he ends chases quickly enough.

I think people get confused when someone says that the devs should play their own game.

Of course devs don't need to play their own game just like race car constructors don't do races. However, car constructors do have to make their product perfect or else their consumers will choose somebody else that does better job.

The problem is that there are not enough slasher type video games. This is almost the only game we have so they can say go and play civ 5 but after a couple of years later, there will be other games that the dbd players drawn to.

Before it is too late, they should get rid of their arrogant attitude and accept their mistakes. We were right when the spirit was released, I believe we are still right.

This makes Legion look bad, very bad in fact in terms of design.

Survivors can't get away from him. I know others have reccomended this strategy on these forums. I tried it myself with success. You can't afford to run away but legion never stops long enough to let you mend.

I see now why they had the timer pause on the ptb while you were mending. That was so you had a fair chance to defend yourself.

Then everyone complained he waa too weak which he does feel at times so now we get this.

    What a nightmarish convulted design.

This is what we are trying to say but people already made their mind up already. They don't even listen.

He is bad at the same time really good. It is astounding what devs can achieve.

I heard Bloodhound is actually pretty good with Legion. I guess that proves right.

    Definitely.

If Iron will didn't exist, I wouldn't use it but with the release of legion more and more survivors started to use it. This is a better option than stridor and I love it.

You playing the wrong game if you think that you should be able to constantly loop and waste the killer's time for 5 gens and then run out the gate.

Nobody said that the legion is a good or powerful killer. I am sure he also think he needs buffs as well. Even by doing this method, you won't guarantee 4k. We can all agree on that.

Mend takes like 15s, not much and to chase you just by the blood with that speed is an auto lose

You don't understand. I am sure that no legion has done this thing to you.

It doesn't take too long to chase people with moonwalk. Also the legion's normal speed could be 100% instead of 110%, it doesn't affect it.

He hits you twice, you are at 70% deep wound state, the chase stops and he starts to moonwalk, bum 10 seconds later you are at 30% deep wound state. He again activates his power and downs you, there is nothing a survivor could do.

The whole process takes like less than 40 seconds, I would say 25-35 seconds and tbh, I don't know the counter to that. If you know please let me know and this is really not sarcastic.

I’ve encountered moonwalking legions a few times, majority of the time I lose them in a chase because Urban Evasion is a perk I run 90% of the time.

It is true I have the same experience. The problem starts when they equip bloodhound.

Another issue of balance, that is what. And unfortunately they get enough hassle about that as it is.

Seems like everyone always finds something wrong with this game, but in the same breath are still playing it just as much as they are hating it. Can we give the devs props for what they do right instead of toxic tomatoes when they do something wrong or need improvement? Pretty sure we're all adults and can express our opinions without having a hissy fit and bashing the people who made Dead By Daylight possible to play.

Alongside CD Projekt Red I’ve placed BHVR among my favourite game-based companies for Dead By Daylight alone. It’s helped me out so much with depression and just a lack of happiness. I’ve been doing the best to support them in thanks. So whenever a new chapter is released my wallet is spread open, or when new cosmetics come out.

They’re all Human too. Some people tend to forget that.

Thank you! I, too found DBD when I was going through alot and it helped keep my mind off the things I wanted to keep my mind off of. Video games are my escape and I refuse to watch hard-working devs get crushed because they try to keep their community happy. Its ridiculous. 💜

Is three of us the same person? <3

I have major depression too, whenever I feel bad, I play dbd and become much happier. It helped me so much. I try to be not so hard on the devs but still do it sometimes and actually I am sad about it.

Seeing these kind of threads makes me happy.

  • A new chapter released, so I expect them to stream.

I am sure they are gonna announce the Christmas date but this is my opinion.

I don't know why but I feel like it is gonna be next week.

  • They have this delusion that you can counter everything with perks and more often than not, killers get the pointy end of the stick.

Survivors get a buff, and then they give killers a perk to counter it, and they repeat it like there is no end.

Game has a bad design, and to compensate it, they give killers another perk to combat that.

Here are a couple of things that are worth mentioning.

Game has terrible setups, that is okay just equip bamboozle.

The game has potential to be over within 3-4 minutes, that's okay just equip ruin.

People sabotage everything with toolboxes, that is okay just equip hangman's trick.

These are a couple of examples and please notice that, survivors don't need to bring any perks to have the ability to genrush, sabotage or bad setups. There are still multiple examples but I think that is enough.

They need to get rid of this mentality. If anything, survivors perks' should be counters to killers' perks not the way around.

  • Only Claudette is worth mentioning when it comes to advantages that survivors have.

Also, female survivors have more advantage over male survivors due to their size.

I mained Meg because she was a runner and I thought she was faster than other survivors o_O

Then I mained Claudette due to her looks. I love how her scared face looks like not because of stealth aspect. I use bright colors anyway.

Now I main Jeff because of his purchasable skin. I am having a blast with him.

We already had this discussion and as you said

"Even with 100% speed you cannot avoid him"

Sure buddy, keep living in your own world

You don't even understand what I am talking about but just like many other killer mains in this forum, you think you understand.

I am gonna explain it one more time and call it a day. He will have 100% ms while not in frenzy btw.

He hits you twice, unavoidable if the legion is not braindead.

You start to run away from him, he doesn't chase you, the chase breaks, he starts to moonwalk, you go to nearby pallet and start to mend.

He has bloodhound, and enduring. He follows you because your blood is bright as moon, there is no hiding. He is right in front of you, the chase starts, your times stopped but you are already at 20-30%.

You can throw the pallet but he is gonna jump over it. Your best bet is to stun him while he is in his frenzy but it doesn't matter since he has enduring, He eats the stun, activates his power and then downs you.

I genuinely have more fun against spirits, freddies or nurses than him when he does that. This is one of the worst designs I have ever seen in this game.

    Hello

Deep wound, in concept, is to create pressure and waste Survivors time, not to down survivors, similar to Reverse Bear Trap.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Okay I have a question.

Some legions hit you two times and then stop following you, allowing you to go to a nearby pallet and start to mend. You start to mend with 70% deep wound and with the new changes, the deep wound continues to go down while mending. After a couple of seconds later when the deep wound reaches 30%, they come back and use frenzy mode and down you. You can't use pallets and windows against him when you get the first 2 hits, and you still won't be able to use them when he finally comes to down you.

The whole process takes less than 30 seconds and there is nothing a survivor could do in that situation especially if the killer equipped bloodhound and enduring.

Killers like nurse, huntress and spirit can do the same thing but at least they require skill to be good at. It is easy to use the legion but this way is so effective that even if you are a good survivor and the killer is bad, there is almost no counter play.

This thread actually explains it a lot better than I did, so you might want to take a look at it.

I just got the game and put in a lot of hours already because it is kind of fun but here's my beefs so far and address as you please. These aren't bashes on the game but things for a new player I dislike. Some of it could be due to experience and some may be due to just junk.

    1. As a survivor, if a killer get on me, I might as well just stand there and wait to die. Sometimes I get away but 99% of the time I'm just dead. Even me as a new killer experience this. Only once or twice has someone got away.

    2. Are flashlights even a thing?? I say this sarcastically because I've seen them and have had some myself but I've literally only had two (2) available to me. It seems the best way to work as a team is someone with a flashlight actually use it but you never see them. Why have I only seen two the whole time I've been playing.

    3. Is this game nothing but a campfest? Most of my games are killer catches someone then runs in circles around the hook. This is not fun in any way and how is it fun for the killer.

    4. Camping is promoted it seems. As a survivor I get crap points and bp. As a killer, even if I lose it all I will usually get 20k plus. It seems camping is promoted because you just run as a killer, camp, get a ton of bp, then spend them all on a different character to level them up.

    5. Why does it seem sometimes killers know exactly where I'm at even though I've been hiding and walk right up to me. I'm not talking following footsteps or blood and I can't pin down to one particular killer because it happens on different ones. This doesn't happen a ton but it's just weird that, for example, one time I was hiding in a closet and knew the killer was on other side of map because they just killed someone. I waited in the closet because I knew they were going to come check the generator. This shack, has 4 to 5 closets I believe. The killer walks in, doesn't even look around the shack or inside the shack, and walks right up to my closet out of 5 an captures me. Are these cheaters I'm running into or do some killers literally have the ability to see me. (In this case it was The Huntress)

Again, I'm not here to bash or anything, I'm fully willing to accept some responses will be about my knowledge and skill. I agree with that. I was up all night playing this after buying it because it was hella fun but the more I've played the more these annoyances have been sticking out and it's rapidly becoming less fun. My friend was going to buy it but I told him to hold off until I'm sure I'll even stick around.

Ok I will go one by one.

1-) As a survivor, your mission is to complete generators. Killers are going to find you one way or another. At this point, you must understand that you will go down eventually and until that time, you have to waste as much time as possible to give your survivor friends enough time to complete generators. There are ways to keep the killer busy but to master them is not really easy. You can watch twitch streamers and understand what they try to do in that situation.

2-) At low ranks, people don't prefer to use flashlights because it is a risky business for them and most of the time doesn't even work. You might see more flashlights as you climb up to the high ranks.

3-) I don't find camping fun and most survivors neither but some killers choose to do so. The best way to deal with this is to complete generators as soon as possible.

4-) It is not about camping, killers earn bloodpoints easily than survivors.

5-) There is a perk called BBQ that allows killers to see you whenever they hook somebody. You said that the huntress downed somebody so I assume that she hooked him and saw your aura, came to the closet and find you. Another scenario is crows. When you wait in a place for a long time without doing anything, killer starts to get notifications and find you easily.

So say they're in the killer shack, you just use frenzy, vault the pallet, then cancel and immediately M1 them?

Does that sound balanced to you?

Yeah it does actually because with the stun as it is now survivors that he is after will be long gone during chases. He is quite weak at the minute he needs some serious buffs. Stun removal is one of them.

No it is not, he is already really easy to use, it would break the whole killer.

Before proposing buffs and nerfs, please consider the opposite side.

  • The legion is really weird.

He is not bad at chases. You can loop a trapper or a wraith for 5 minutes but if you face against a legion, you will go down in a minute regardless of your skill.

However, his chases are not strong enough for you to snowball and win the game.

As a survivor, I actually feel really weak against the legion because I know that if he wants me dead, I will get downed.

As a killer, I feel like even though I get my downs easily without putting much effort, I am gonna lose the game because there is no snowball moments.

This killer needs complete rework imo. I just can't find any other way to balance him.

I wrote that instead of dead oops

when nurse can just teleport over the pallet and smack them, yes it does lmao

That moment when you beat people with logic.
    I love it!

    I liked @The_Crusader 's rebuttal more tbh.

Camp and tunnel --> Killers don't need to think about survivors' fun, it is the most efficient strategy, what should I do, go after the fully healed person?

Survivors using the best and most efficient strategy for themselves --> Bad game design, crutch, unskilled survivors, boring etc. etc.

Please guys at least be a little bit consistent.

Yes, becauase I haven't spent the past few weeks in heated debate in thread after thread arguing with all the killer mains about how ######### camp and tunnel is.

Does anyone on this forum read things befofe they jump to conclusions? Or do they just like to rush smartass comments?

And yes it is bad game design where a survivor runs around a building every time, but I never said they were unskilled. Well it doesn't take much skill to actually do the loops but its only the tryhards who are skilled who know them and dare do them.

Yes because you spent the past few weeks arguing how DS should be removed. I am sure you didn't leave much time to complain about camp and tunnel.

Just bodyblock for the unhooked Survivor or don’t unhook when the Killer is nearby.

OP talks about perks as well, just equip bamboozle and boom, 90% of loops have been shut down including shack, main buildings bad setups etc.

I am not even against camping and tunneling, I have stated that multiple times, it might be a boring and a lazy strategy but it is one anyway. After using this strategy, don't blame survivors using ######### strategies as well because they will not stop just like you will not stop.

They released a killer that fulfills every survivor mains dream of how a match should go:

    He can't tunnel.

He has to constantly switch targets.

    He's easy to loop.

He gives them a good chase without any real danger.

    Survivors love him/her/it

    I wholeheartedly disagree with you.

He can easily tunnel and when he tunnels, there is literally nothing you can do.

He has to constantly switch targets but if he wants you in the end, he can actually hit others first and then tunnel you.

He is easy to loop if he doesn't use his power, most of them use their power and the chases are too boring since as a survivor there is literally nothing you can do.

Pallets and windows don't help you much, it is a matter of time before you going down. Your only hope is that your teammates finish the generators before you die. So, terrible chases with the very high chance of going down.

He is frustrating for both sides. I am sure that there are people who love playing as him and against him but at this moment, both survivors and killers are not happy with him.

So when he plays against his power, he can tunnel. Good to know! I probably was under the false impression that a killers power should give him an advantage. Instead of being something that holds him back. Sounds awfully like Freddy.

Yeah, he can jump over pallets, then he tags the survivor. Who isn't downed. Even if he hits several times with his power, which is kinda hard to begin with. Since he gets his exhaustion animation.

Cool power! Don't down survivors. Just tag them, then go for the next one in the hope the tagged survivors don't mend.

Btw. @Peanits what is wrong with the notification system? 3 people answered me in this thread and I only got his notification.

And I didn't get this notification at all.

You don't need to play against your power. There are 3 survivors, you hit the first, then the second, then the third, and then you can hit him for the second time and start to tunnel him while others try to find a safe place and mend themselves. This is not playing against his power.

After that, you can let the survivor go and then give him the false impression that he is safe and allow him to start to mend. Timer goes down, after he hits 30%, use your power and down him. It takes time which is frustrating for the killer but there is literally nothing you can do as a survivor.

I am not saying he is powerful or anything. He is both annoying for the killers and the survivors at the same time. You may not be able to win the games but I am pretty sure that you can tunnel and down people effortlessly.

  • @purebalance said:
I get snap out of it being changed to not work, but mending is a healing action. You're literally fixing the wound.

It is not about realism. Killers already let go survivors to find them and down them with 1 strike.

NC would be too much for him.

  • I don't think it worked in ptb, did it?
