I wonder if they can add this feature to the PTB as the last second change.
I really love this change honestly.
-
Newest player here! Edit; somebody said early February 2019. So I lost my status darn.
March 2018, 3 months before the clown release. The saw chapter intrigued me and I saw that there were other licensed killers too.
I played a lot in the summer though. I currently have 1.3-1.4k hours lol
-
Well, they are getting rid of it.
QUESTION: DOES THIS MEAN DRIBBLING A SURVIVOR SERVES NO PURPOSE? GOOD ON BHVR TO REMOVE THAT.
Horvath: Yes dribbling should no longer be a thing, I do not believe this was mentioned in the blogpost but there is now a 0.5 second delay before a killer can drop a survivor after picking them up. This should avoid dribbling and flashlight dodging right after a pick up. (flashlights can still be avoided by facing away from them)Last QA about DS.
You won't be able to spam R to avoid flashlight save now, learn to face a wall.
-
The same can be said for SWF posts too.
None of it will happen, everybody just has to own it. Easy.

Read the Discord Q&A, which is the 3rd post on the announcement. The window has been increased by 0.5 seconds.

If this is the one you are talking about, they just removed R, well, 'exploit' that killers do when there is a flashlight save. Now, spamming R will have no effect.
If you are referring to anything else, do you have time to share that? This definitely doesn't give survivors more time to flashlight save.

Honestly, I checked it out as well.
I didn't make any mistake though lol

That's it. You can only get scared at the beginning.
I don't think there will ever be a game that will make everybody scared all the time. If you play something 1000 times, it just loses its atmosphere.
Even if they made the game scary for now, tomorrow, it would still lose its atmosphere.
Jump scares are the only exception and they really are cheap.
-
An unpopular opinion is coming from a survivor main.
Survivors
Except for NOED, ruin and BBQ I just can't think of a great perk from the killer side. Perks do help but yeah I don't think there is any other perk that will make me say 'holy #########, if this perk wasn't here... Give me Ruin and BBQ and I can play any killer with no problem.
Survivors have game changing perks though. To name a few adrenaline, borrowed time, self care, exhaustion perks DS etc.
I am not saying that killers don't have good perks but if you don't have perks and play the killer, you won't feel empty.
Only exception is BBQ and ruin. I think that killer experience becomes something else when you don't use these 2 perks.
Especially ruin.

so confident on 100% of the community? I see a possible advantage that some people will use against the survivors just to avoid the DS, and there are several people who complain.
I can't say that I am sure but even though they try to use them, they will run out of them. I really don't see any reason to concern about this.
We'll see if it happens I guess.
-
No, people will not use more mori.
Killers who like to use mori are using them anyway. The others won't try to use them just because of a perk.
They can't use mori every other game honestly.

NOED needs to be balanced around new players and solo survivors but without removing it's potency. I think having visual notice of how many totems are left would be useful. And honestly, put it back to when only tier 3 gave Exposed. Yes it made tier 1 and 2 useless but it also limited the amount of weak low rank killers you'd face with it, in ranks where survivors realistically don't have the skill to deal with it.That's the only thing that NOED needs honestly.
Up there with the generator information, if survivors know how many totems are left on the map, they can choose to pop up the generator and risk everything or try to find and cleanse all of the totems.
Honestly, it would be a huge buff for killers who don't use NOED as well. Survivors would try to find and cleanse the last totem for a non existent perk.
-
Honestly I have asked what your other options are but even if these 2 are the last ones, you should just wait for the new DLC.
-
What are your other options?

Billy Bc he can eat through pallets fairly quickly, and has decent movement speed. By the time they try to move to the next pallet insta down them. They can be looped for a bit but not long at all especially if you’re good at mind gaming.
No, they can easily reach the other pallets and windows as long as you don't have spirit fury and enduring. Even then, you won't be able to use that all the time.
Every killer can mindgame so it is not that great of an answer honestly.

I kinda disagree on the spirit part.Spirit with high mobility can counter 'most' windows easily.
She just can't counter extremely safe ones like the one in the rancid abattoir's main building or the coal tower because her power doesn't have enough charge.
...Coal Tower, Groaning Storehouse, Cowshed, Chapel, Discturbed Ward, Gas Heaven, Wretched Shop, Ironworks, Suffocation Pit, Haddonfield, Red Forest, Grim Pantry, Pale Rose, Torment Creek, Rancid Abattoir....
You didn't have to write them all, I already accepted it o_O
Yes, if they are close to main buildings and those safe windows, she can't counter it but for the most part, she can counter windows easily, even shack.
-
Playing solo is a fcking chore mate, it really is.
There is no shortage of bullshit that you constantly have to go through.
I used to be a survivor main but nowadays, I only play killer. This morning I tried to give it another shot but nope, playing survivor is just straight up boring. My biggest enemy is my fellow survivors, they are more of a threat than a killer honestly.
Survivors can't realize it but killers are the last problem that they face.

Depends on the type of loop.- Nurse can counter pretty much every loop
- Clown can counter some of the loops
- Huntress can counter some of the loops but suffers even more from others
- Spirit can handle most pallet loops but suffers from window loops
- Hag and Trapper can temporary counter specific loops
- Doctor can handle a few loops
- and Legion.... Legion can loop, too!
The others can't really deal with loopers.
I kinda disagree on the spirit part.
Spirit with high mobility can counter 'most' windows easily.
She just can't counter extremely safe ones like the one in the rancid abattoir's main building or the coal tower because her power doesn't have enough charge.

It was strange to me when I read it also but since I'm not very experienced in playing killer I don't know. Playing against him, it's not too hard to loop him.No people think that looping is the only thing that can keep survivors safe so if billy is powerful, and he is, he must be countering loops.
The mistake they are making that billy can do many other things even though he can't counter loops so he is still powerful.
-
Only 2 killers can counter loops and have a chance against good survivors and these killers are the nurse and the spirit. Even though some other killers can counter them to a certain extent, it is just not enough.
Closest killers to nurse and spirit are the hag and the huntress but their way of countering is not the same as the nurse and spirit.

They increased the flashlight save window by 0.5 seconds?!?!? If that's true, that's [BAD WORD] insane lolAs far as I know, they didn't.
Some killers were dropping survivors to avoid flashlight save and they made it so that they won't be able to drop them to escape from flashlight save.
As long as you didn't spam R to drop the survivors, there is no change for you. Everything is the same as far as I know.
I might be wrong though.
-
The spirit
I never get uncomfortable with her ever. Whenever I play with her, I am always relaxed and chill, doing my own job.

That's a holy cause.

Isn't brutal strength one of the more common perks used to help with the chase alongside Enduring? Before spirit fury, brutal strength was one of the most popular perks in this game.
Enduring and Spirit fury is so much better than brutal strength right now.
-
I am not sure if they will ever do something about perk grind honestly.
It is a way to keep people playing the game for them. Many people would leave the game if they had nothing to play for.
-
Honestly, I have read many horror stories about this perk but my experience with it was mostly good.
It helped me find NOEDs, Devour hopes, ruins etc. etc.
Bond is still better than this perk though.
-
That's a strange phenomenon about this forum honestly.
Sometimes DS gets hatred, then SWF, after that NOED, after that Nurse, p3 Claudettes, adrenaline...
One thing that never changes is that people just focus on something and everybody starts to talk about it. I honestly haven't seen anything like this ever before in any forum.
-
Thanks
Survivors should just cleanse all the totems, easy fix for NOED.
Killers should just pressure the gens, easy fix for gen rush.

I hope nerf but thinking about some scenarios I don't know... We will see. Is the update next tuesday btw?No, update is definitely not this Tuesday. They always release a PTB version before an update.
We might get the PTB this Tuesday but I expect them to release DS change with the new chapter, I can only hope it is going to be this Tuesday right now but they didn't even release a teaser so IDK.
-
No
If you try to p3 your characters, you just accepted the challenge and the grind.
If they make bloodpoints easier to get, we will see 5 blink ebony mori nurse every other round. The only thing they can do is to make it so that we can get the perks easily. I don't even think that they will do that.
-

This is painful

Wiggling is not an escape mechanic.
It is there for you to prevent killer hooking you on strategic hooks. The most well known place is the basement but it doesn't end it there
For example, Killer can hook you on a hook that is in a dead zone with no pallets or windows nearby. Even if somebody saves you, you are dead because there is no place that you can go.
Another good example is killer hooking you on a hook in the middle of 4 generators. Killer will be able to pressure that 4 generators and waste nearby pallets, creating a dead zone while camping, putting pressure on all 4 survivors etc.
There are many other strategic uses of hooks and wiggling prevents this, it is not supposed to give you escape every time.

Nerf
DS itself was not that powerful, what was powerful about it was that it prevented early game pressure.
Now it won't make me lose early game pressure. Since I don't have any problem with borrowed time, I don't think I will have any problem with the new DS:
The only problematic aspect of it is 60 second timer because it might be too long but anything less will not prevent tunneling. Still, we need to see.
-
Yeah the same as above, I do feel bad when I bump into the same dwight every time but there is nothing I can do about this. I don't intentionally tunnel but if he can't hide, that's on him.
The only exceptions is events for me, I just let them go and get more BPs after second hook and kill them near end game.

They're actively working on his rework. It takes a lot of time, effort, and resources on top of what they are trying to push out in the game to begin with. I'm right there with you when it comes to the frustration of waiting years, but you have to understand their point of view. Game development is often much more complex than what the public believe it to be. Additionally, if they decide not to roll with an idea that they have worked on for months, they have to basically start from scratch.Dude, they can create new killers every other 3 months. I do know that they are working on the new killers way before it but yeah, it doesn't change much.
Freddy's artwork is done, story is done, perks are done, they have the general idea about his power too.
We've heard Freddy rework in the last summer, it's been more then 6 months. They have released 2 new killers, 2 new survivors, 2 maps etc. etc. and the third is on the way.
It should not be this difficult.

@The_Crusader said:
Here's the thing....You don't even need to use the new DS. Just having it will be a deterrent to stop the killer from tunneling you. Hell just having it in the game might make the killer think twice.
You don't even need it to be good. You know what killers are like, DS is like garlic to a vampire. Nobody wants to take one of those stuns because it's not a good feeling.
I think the idea of that person having DS may be stronger than the perk itself.
I know you are generally against NOED too but isn't it just like NOED?
Both sides have extra 5th psychological perk slot and people have to play around it.
As a killer, honestly, I didn't have much problem with borrowed time and I think that I will not have any problem with the new DS. Maybe, times is too long but we can judge it better when we see the actual change.
We will see it in the PTB I guess.
-
Bubba is the best camper in the game.
If they get caught, they are ######### done.
They will either show him respect or die on the first hook.
-
I just can't believe some people want 100% logical game.
Why are survivors able to heal themselves for an infinite amount of time with self care?
Why do survivors not lose health state when they drop from high ground?
Why do survivors lose their exhaustion state when they are put on a hook?
etc. etc.Somethings are just logical gameplay wise. It would be too easy to drop a pallet and stun the killer if it happened in animation lock.
This is 100% git gud problem. Pallet stun save is one of the easiest things in this game, if you can't do it, then blame yourself.
