That lasts like 5 seconds and your job is to chase them so of course they're not gonna make you go a straight line for it. This isn't even comparable, try again.Akuma said:@Master said:

I'd be chill with a plague doctor. I'm just glad to see people have abandoned the "African tribal shapeshifter" fixation.

I wouldn't say it's weak against SWF. Just not AS strong. Putting a totem counter in would fix a lot on that front without ever having to touch NOED itself.The_Crusader said:But the problem is NOED is weak against SWF and strong against solo due to totem co-ordination. -
Do we need another NOED thread

8v2 would be a disaster anyways

I have been quite absent from dbd as i got burnt out a week or so after legions release. Is there anything big i missed? i already know about the ds change but i cant find anything on the new chapter.
New chapter PTB is most likely coming out tomorrow.
New chapter hasn't even been teased yet. Id say next week at the earliest
They've repeated numerous times lately that they're redesigning the way the communicate. The "teaser" was the decisive nerf. 5 days away from Tuesday. That's how it's been before, so the PTB probably comes out tomorrow.
-
In contrast to what Spirit, Legion and Clown got that's hardly a teaser. Possibly even irrelevant.BigBadPiggy said:@ClogWench said:

Yeah it has been teased, Polyester posted a pic of a flag on Twitter

Killers do have the advantage of diverse powers though. And add ons that modify their playstyle.

They said DS is going straight to live so idk if it'll be in ptb before that. Could just get the DS update alone.DexyIV said:I hope so. I want to see how the DS changes truly impact the game instead of these wild survivor/killer main theories. Maybe the end game changes they were talking about working on are in there. Who knows?

Probably next week. Just me patient and wait. There's already a dozen threads about this already.mobbigermops said:There should be a Public Players Testbuild tomorrow right? If not maybe there is a delay with the new chapter

Killers have a few very potent perks but in terms of numbers I think survivors have a lot more variety for a lot of different uses.

The fact that so many people DC on sight is proof they need a rework

Absolutely not

NOED needs to be balanced around new players and solo survivors but without removing it's potency. I think having visual notice of how many totems are left would be useful. And honestly, put it back to when only tier 3 gave Exposed. Yes it made tier 1 and 2 useless but it also limited the amount of weak low rank killers you'd face with it, in ranks where survivors realistically don't have the skill to deal with it.
-
I got Evil Incarnate and BoyF with Fragrant Tombstone so yeah they count.
-
Saw someone call Hag "Dirt Princess" earlier and that sounds like a solid title

Except that the point was how these survivors got pissy over dying despite it being their own actions/inactions that got them killed. Not that NOED is broken.The_Crusader said:ClogWench said:
Once again missing the point of a thread in favor of NOED salt.The_Crusader said:Sounds like a typical game.
Looped for 3 gens then gets 3 kills with Noed.
Anyway, this is about the same as my experience with solo survivor. Teammates won't encounter the killer at all cause he's on my ass and then get bodied endgame and be salty towards their team cause they feel not being targeted all game is synonymous with skill so obviously they didn't deserve to die.
No it's exactly the problem. He tries to do totems but gets abuse at the end. Plus when hes chased nobody else does totems.
So now he feels like swf is the only way to play, but then killers cry aboht swf and lobby dodge so the cycle continues. -
If someone is a strong looper, break chase and find someone else. Looping is frustrating but if you let a survivor loop you for several gens then that's on you. Better off preying on someone weaker and using them to draw out survivors into a more vulnerable position.Eveline said:When they go from pallet to pallet and keep running in circles until they drop it but you are a slow killer what then? I would assume it would function the same way, with a totem, so it's easily counterable. But still a bad idea.preetygoodforumsofar said:so bad killer who played really bad can get reward by noed even with out using it and survivor have no way to counter it?
-
Most killers have to rely on the survivor making a mistake. At best some killers have abilities that make it more likely they'll make a mistake, and some can better capitalize on them. But ultimately no, only Nurse, Spirit, and to a lesser but still potent degree Hag actively counter looping.
-
I'm in support of NOED staying as it is but making it an inherent mechanic is just too much. Part of its balance is that it costs a perk slot, forcing you to rely less on perks during the trial. Killers should be threatening, I agree with that, but not to a point of extreme imbalance like that.

Every Tapp I've seen has been an absolute fool. Faced a husband/wife duo in a game yesterday, both as Tapp, who were so focused on keeping me off the other that they got hooked 3 times each before ever laying a finger on a generator. Both DCing before death hook too. I get a lot of Tapps hiding in lockers and going for immediate unhooks too. Never seen one do well before.

They're not super common to face, and god forbid a survivor have an actual scary game. If they were common then I'd agree but really they're not.

Then work on looping so you're wasting more of the killers time before you get hooked and camped.SenzuDuck said:@ClogWench said:

NOED punishes genrush. That's why people hate it.
It also rewards camping.
I don't use NOED but when killers camp they say to do gens, when you do gen too fast and you get hit by NOED they say to do totems.
If you don't gen rush with a camping killer someone will die and another person will be camped.
I don't have an issue with noed but lets not pretend it doesn't reward really scummy camping gameplay and punish survivors who are being smart against campers.
Do gens and totems. No matter what it's always avoidable.
No it's not.
Doing Gens & Finding all the totems before the camped survivor dies is a big ask, you either do all the gens the survivor dies and the killer gets to camp another with NOED or You do the gens, and the totems by the time thats done the killer is on his second.

I love running M&A, Nurses, Ruin and Sloppy on her and focusing on slowing the game down through long vulnerable healing periods. Her power is already strong in chases so I never use chase perks on her.
-
That explains it. Her skill requirement on console is so high you'll almost never get a good nurse outside of rank 1 and even then they're rareShrekIsHot said:@Poweas said:

Shockingly I agree with you on this. Honestly I'm excited to actually use DS now when I play survivor
-
That's actually the first good criticism I've seen of NOED. It's a lot harder for new survivors to handle because often times they struggle to get 5 gens done in the first place, so doing that and 5 totems is a pretty hefty task if you can't genrush well.TeaLeaf said:I said this on another post but I will say it again, They don't like Noed because its a good perk and it punishes gen rushing aka helps counter play it. The issue is Noed is balanced for high rank play, where it can either slow the game down a little at high rank as people deal with dull totems or net the killer a few kills when the gates are powered they would not other wise be able to get in a 3-4 mins rush. This goes very well with non-top tier killers. Its at lower ranks however you find the perk can slaughter newer players who don really understand the game yet and generally are less skilled. It also makes it where if a person combines it with camping a single target when the gates are open, to ensure usually that 1 kill at least when the rest of the match went fubar and survivors are forced with a feeling of helplessness. Survivors are very not use to having feelings of helplessness in this game despite the supposed nature of the game or being put in a situation where they should choose to cut their losses, noed can give a killer the power to make survivors make hard chooses under specific circumstances. Given the general self entitlement and toxisity of the community as well, this can be very amplified by the vocal minority who really don't want balance.
-
NOED punishes genrush. That's why people hate it.
-
On top of removing dribbling, it combos powerfully with Borrowed Time. Instead of BT basically trading the hooked person for the rescuer, it can help ensure both players escape without the killer being able to stop it. Like most things it'll only really be potent with coordinated SWF groups.Mc_Harty said:@Raccoon said:

How does it buff endgame?? It's practically the same... You pick someone up, they DS you, they walk out. What's the difference from before?

Having the screen suddenly shake for you can add a little extra difficulty to the skill check. It's just a bit disorienting.

It's essentially the only tactic you have against it. Yeah it probably won't work but it doesn't hurt to do and CAN make them miss so why not

But to answer the question, no. They are from a Steam key and they cannot be transferred. Keys are one time use and can't be traded after you used them.
I think he means if his friend CAN give him the skins he will give him the skins. Not that if he can give him the skins he'll quit. -
