  • The problem is that killers can stop survivors from breaking totems generally. And survivors need to find those totems while being cautious. Killers don't need to and can't be stopped in the same way, so the perk would end up actually being extremely weak.
  • If a killer is so inherently unfun to face that survivors would rather not play than face them, no matter how fun that character is to play, they need to be reworked. I'm not excusing DCing or begrudging people for playing Legion. It's an issue that falls into the devs court and no amount of number tweaking is going to fix that. Legion needs a complete overhaul.
  • I just bring Lightborn when I see a flashlight in the lobby. They're annoying but honestly not hard to play around. Besides, I'm not gonna begrudge a survivor for usibg a tool they're given.
  • seems to be doing just fine.
  • They're talking about perks and add-ons and how they recently blocked survivors from seeing them after death until the trial ended. Yeah you can infer some but not all. Stuff like NOED and Blood Warden became weak because SWF could warn eachother.
  • The hatch is such an iffy topic. If they removed the ability to jump in immediately after getting hit, it'd remove the standoff aspect. Whoever reaches it first wins then.
  • I don't think so. I think you have to scroll through killers looking at their teachables.
  • @ClogWench Well clearly they don't do them in waves. A great example of this would be me. Also my entire point in doing this is to try to get them to create a better system. I got away with 25 dc's before getting caught... 25! Imagine if they had a system like CS:GO or the like, this entire fiasco would have been avoided. People in this thread are focusing to much on how I got banned instead of Why I got banned. This should never have happened in the first place if the devs had an improved system (And if I hadn't opened my big mount).

Oh my god you really don't get it. They do them in waves. This instance was an exception cause you literally made them ban you personally. Had you NOT made a show of if you'd have been ignored until the next wave. I don't know how to explain this any clearer to you. As for why you got banned, everyone knows it's cause you DCd a lot. Everyone knows it's an issue, the devs have said they're working on it. What more do you want
  • Since more hooks have been added I’d like to see your recover progression after being downed to count towards your wiggle progression should the killer let you bleed and then decide to pick you up. It only logic to think that the more you’re recovered the better of a fight you’ll be able to put up in the wiggle progression.
Maybe if it only added a little bit to the wiggle meter but that's a mechanic that has a lot of potential to be extremely unbalanced
  • @ClogWench I don't dc at all, in fact I've only ever dc'd once before what I did today. As I stated earlier it was an experiment to see if the devs actually ban people. While the question was answered I would like to see what it would be like without external affairs AKA Me not opening my big, stupid mouth. I didn't enjoy dcing at all and felt bad. Although we'll see what other experiments will result in.

You'd be banned during the next ban wave. That's it. What don't you ubderstand about that
  • @Orion Don't worry I can't say what I'm gonna do, but it will all be clear soon. Plus i'm like 99% sure that I got banned cause I literally told them directly what I did. I wonder what an indirect approach would create? This will require more testing. Although I'm definitely not gonna do anything to get banned again.

All you'll be doing is ruining games for people until the next wave of bans. How are you not understanding this?

  • @ClogWench You keep reading my post but don't respond directly, even when I ask you directly. Are you just gonna keep following my post or are you gonna actually try to come up with a valid arguement because so far you haven't.

You've been answered several times and ignored it. They ban people in waves. You DCing from a bunch of my didn't prove anything because until special attention was brought to your childish behavior, you were being treated like everyone else.
  • LMAO I actually got banned, well boys I know what I did was morally grey but it did prove one thing... Apparently the devs only ban you if you tell them what you did directly. Also we figured out what they do with their time at work instead of ya know... actually fixing/balancing their game... Shoutout to the hundreds of other players who have dc'd more than me and haven't been banned. I will admit though it was kinda deserved and is pretty funny. But they kinda in a way proved my point by banning me. @not_Queen You should ban people for dcing more often and maybe the community wouldn't be as toxic LUL

Good, you deserved it. You accomplished nothing, congratulations.

    Inb4 it's not a shape shifting killer.

can you guys also stop asking for a shape shifter , that idea sucks.

I agree. SWF would curb stomp such a killer.

Doesn't SWF curb stomp most killers anyway?

It does but against a shapeshifter it would outright nullify it's power.
  • I'd like to see new Survivor obsession perks. Though those are hard to balance.
  • Some killers have abilities and perks that encourage playstyles that aren't inherently fun for both sides. Wraith can really easily camp and can shut down Borrowed Time.
  • You already have skin that no one else has.
  • Billy always looks doofy to me. Leatherface walks funny cause his torso stays almost motionless while he's walking.

@DuckApproved nice work, thank you. I wish you had included the info about how many games you played before and after without DC-ing, but the fact that you did not get banned after TWENTY-FIVE damn DC-s is telling.

So thanks, and hope you don't get banned here for this. Oh, and do't do it again please :)

It didn't do anything besides get attention and screw over a lot of players.

Someone suggested in some other DC-related post that there are other games, more opened about their DC ban policy. That is, you get a warning after a certain number, saying something like "1 more and you get banned for X amount of time". I'm not sure it would work of course, but I wish it did. Don't forget that many players don't care, and don't read this forum either. Clear messages for them from the devs, explicitly saying "don't do this again" would do a lot of good I think. I'm not completely convinced by the "It would be abused" argument.

Maybe OP had a wrong approach, I don't know. But I'd appreciate some real info about how DC bans actually work. May do more good than harm.

I agree we need a better DC punishment system, but my point being this guy did nothing but spoil games for a bunch of people.

  • @ClogWench Wasn't unnecesary, proved my point that even with a ridiculous dc count the devs don't ban #########.

There isn't just one guy sitting at a computer watching DC numbers rise who bans someone on the spot when he sees it happening. You proved literally nothing. Good job buddy.

You can run if you are mindful of exaustion. Except the beginning of a game when you are forced to use it immediately after you start running.
You can run, yeah, but you're likely not going to have Sprint Burst when you need it then. I dont think it's a bad perk, but compared to other exhaustion perks it's not nearly as good.
Sometimes you do if you are running with exaustion nearing it's end and already chased for example.
Which is extremely situational and requires you to also stop running for the exhaustion to end. Not consistent or useful enough to really matter.
  • PigNRun said:
To be fair, if you lose Survivors during chases often, Insidious on Freddy is ratheer effective.
Theres a period between when a survivor leaves his TR and when their aura is revealed to him so it's not instantaneous. Insidious sounds good on him on paper but it really doesnt make a difference.

He was "solid" at release because no-one knew how to play against him, then the review bombs happened because of it then he got nerfed into oblivion then boom, worst Killer. Behaviour left no adapting time. If they did leave enough time then survivors would've learnt to counter him and he still would've been the worst killer, just not to the embarrassing degree he is now.

Naw, he'd have been mid tier, joint with Pig. The worst would be Bubba since Wraith is quite good right now.

Nah dude Freddy was bottom tier since day 1. He always had the same problems he has now
  • I think it was @Peanits that said a good end game build for Trapper is Remember Me and Iri Stone. Put a trap at the gate and even if they disarm it it will open while they open the gate.

That's cruel and I'm here for it
  • Banning survivors for dying is the hottest take I've seen on this board so far
  • Well then if survivors have to do 5 totems that's basically an extra gen. 6 gens is all you need. If tou can't win after that you need to get good. Hopefully now all the crying for increased gen times and extra objectives will stop.
5 totems (less if the killer already has hexes) doesn't take long. And worst case Ontario you can just bust it afterwards. If you're that scared of it bring a map or Small Game.
  • If they had voice communication then no. If they didn't, then yes. That makes all the difference. Though obviously yes they probably did have voice comms. Voice communication is truly the make-or-break on whether a setup is fair or not.
  • Why can't we just be nice to each other :(
The nature of an asymmetrical game breeds toxicity cause both sides feel wronged. Not an excuse for people's behavior though. That said I think theres a big difference between legitimate toxicity and just bad manners.
  • Interesting, I guess Legion is good for building up Remember Me hits fast. Ive been looking into playing them more, might give it a shot.
  • Both sides have plenty of tools to be toxic. I don't think it's increased, both sides have been like it for as long as I can recall. Best to not let it get to you and just move on.
  • I doubt it. There's a lot of potential for interesting ideas, and they can conceivably create new mechanics if things get stale
  • I mean someone with BBQ likely isn't camping. Self Care is in a good spot now. It's available if you need it but takes enough time that it's more worth your while to get someone else to heal you. Borrowed Time was too strong before and there was really no counter to it whatsoever. And it recently got an indirect buff. It's not a super powerful perk now but can make it hard to tunnel, which is the point.
  • I do think the ranking system is heavily flawed and this wouldn't be as bad as it is if they actually had a better matchup system. Base it on hours played as most people suggest.
  • Yeah it's pretty gross that they're so willing to turn a blind eye to it like that. I know I've heard talk about DC punishments, though I don't know what truth there is to it.
  • "The truth is out there" sounds so dramatic

Trapper I disagree with cause it sorta changes his playstyle in a way other killers don't? But honestly yeah, add-ons that just slightly strengthen an ability rather than modify it are boring. If a killer needs that boost to be effective, they should probably have it as base kit. If not it feels redundant to have. Still, some DO change the way you can use a killer even if it's not immediately evident.

What exactly do you disagree with? Trapper is dependent on his "trapper sack", "trapper bag" and "stitched bag" add-ons because only being able to carry 1 trap at base sucks.

Oh my bad, I misunderstood. I thought you were implying trapper players shouldn't rely on trapper bag, and I felt it should be basekit. Seems we're on the same page on this then

    Wait, what?

My original post is to make the point that no killer should be dependent on a specific add-on, trapper needing his "bag" add-ons is an example of a killer needing a specific add-on to make up for base kit weakness.

Trapper should be able to carry at least 2 traps at base.

Yeah that's what I'm saying, I misunderstood at first. I agree completely with your first comment, sorry for the confusion

Just had a Huntress guard hooks with Iridescent heads.

This is the balance that killers want.
And thats related to the rest of this how? Besides she gets 3 at most and you can dodge them. Not saying they're not strong but come on dude at some point you gotta learn
You will defend anything wont you?

Ok fine. I dont want to see you on here ever complaining about gen times, DS, or the hatch.
At most I've said the hatch is flawed and needs a rework rather than removal. Considering they're still working on altering it/endgame, the devs disagree. Gen time and DS is fine, neither really impacts me too much. So sure, I won't complain about them. Just for you buddy.

3 vs 1, "we need to slug guys."

3 vs 1, survivors rush gens because the odds are against them, go down to NOED "your fault for rushing gens"

God there are some entitled babies among the killer community. How much do the odds have to be stacked in your favour for you to be happy?

Given how I've seen the majority of killerd play I'm really not surprised. Most just can't admit they aren't very good at the game because it would bruise their ego.

Go watch the best streamers play the game and learn. That's why I did. Now I'm managing just fine as long as I'm using a decent killer.
You literally can't stop whining about NOED and slugging. Maybe if you worked on getting better instead of blaming all your problems on the killer, you'd have a better time.
Game is balanced for 4 vs 1.

1 person doesn't load in, 1 survivor disconnects early.

But yes the problem is me. Please show me some of your gameplay videos of wise sage of the survivors. I would love to learn how I can git gud.
If your problem stems from survivors disconnecting, why are you blaming the killer? Pregame DCs are (slightly) balanced by removing a gen. Not a perfect solution but manageable. If someone else DCs after that it's their fault for throwing balance off further.
