Sorry missed that one. Any addons that effect this or are we forced to keep a few clear to ensure the pressure?
Not sure, haven't seen them. But the time it'd take to manage getting everyone sick and every pool full seems like it's not worth the effort. She seems like a "slow the game down" type of killer, though the healing part of the fountain kinda hinders that.
-
I think so. Not counting franchised ones outside of the actual game.

No it means you're facing killers that had the luxury of not having survivors DC against them constantly.
Good luck playing Nurse or Legion now.
So you're facing killers who will likely play well against you at rank 1
-
@The_Crusader said:
Rank matters for survivors because low rank survivor is a nightmare. It's just killers who tunnel the hell out of the first person they find, or they get looped all game. Also you get potato teammates. Its much more fun being purple to red rank.
Thank god it's only killer that got hit hard with the ranking difficulty then. And it means at rank 1 you'll be facing more skilled killers and less campers.

Anybody test out letting the survivors corrupt all the fountains so they can't heal up? Might be good strategy to ensure they are weakened before upping your power.
As stated above, corrupting all of them instantly purifies them all at once.
-
Honestly I'm feeling it. I'm tired of zooming through ranks before I'm ready for it.
-
@Hex_Flex said:
But you realize if you make all survivors use all the wells, they cannot heal themselves since they are all corrupted, so you can go around and just make everybody "broken" with puke and they cannot purge it or heal thru it, pair that with the new thana buff and they are in for a rough ride.
If all the wells are corrupt at once they ALL become clean again.
-
@Funbag7 said:
Sure is a lot of whining going on, maybe don't let them get away from you and they won't be able to heal, dduuurrrr😲
If you don't let them get away there's not much point to making them sick in the first place.
-
Rank doesn't matter anyway so who cares
-
Yarf
-
Maybe not the exact route I would have taken but considering the complaints about it being way too easy to rank up, I think this is a decent change.
-
Meyers and Hag. Hag specifically, with her normal kit as well as stealth builds, Mint Rag builds and bodyblocking builds. Hag is extremely unpredictable.

I wanted to equip "Up the Ante" as 5th slot to check its feasibility
And then you find out it sucks and drop it for something good instead.

If we had more perk slots we could experiment with low-tier perks
currently everyone just equips the strongest perks due to the lack of slots
No one's gonna use a 5th slot for a weak perk. It'll just be a 5th op perk

With Hangman's Trick, you don't need to slug nor care about where you hook them.
Maybe it doesn't work for you because you have better map awareness than I do, but I have a very poor sense of orientation, so it's useful for me.
Problem with Hangman's is you're giving up 1/4 of your perks for a perk that will rarely if ever be relevant because sabotaging is so uncommon now. It's more likely you'll just end up wasting a perk slot, even on Trapper.
-
He's not fantastic but his power has its uses.
-
Well that's the curse of games like this. There's no solving that.
-
Self Care 100%. When it's treated as something you basically have to have, that's when a perk becomes a crutch.
-
When I was just a baby killer main I'd avoid full P3 lobbies. Not anymore cause prestige is meaningless to me now but back then I always felt they were the ones that were gonna bully me.
-
Sounds like you need to find a SWF group then.
-
It could be interesting to see. I'm not sure if thatd be too strong, but honestly it'd actually help out with everyone complaining about NOED since it'd take away a potential totem.

Okay I’m going to break it down to a typical game of mine
i finish a gen if my team is lucky enough not to get hooked before it’s done
usually two teammates have been hooked by this time already
i go for a save, I get tunneled because the killer knows I’m a survivor who’s wasting their time
teammates don’t do gens, MAYBE save me
i end up dying because I’m going for saves AND doing gens. I’m not saying I always get two gens & saves a game but I’m trying to survive, me trying to pip is just part of the game.
Surviving doesn't equate to pipping though. If you're complaining about it being impossible to rank up that's entirely on you. Your team isn't gonna be top tier and if you can't even single pip usually then that's literally only a reflection of your skills. It's easier than ever right now to rank up to a point a lot of people rank up TOO fast.
-
You're kinda missing everyone's points. If you're not pipping it's because you're not doing the things that get emblem points. Your team mates don't matter for that. Play altruistically, unhook and heal people a lot.
-
Cheers bro, I'll M1 to that

How it was different than now? Or should I ask is it better now? Were there more tunneling more camping or killers were actually leaving the spot a bit to look for a lantern? Survivors weren’t disconnecting this much that is for sure.
No, survivors were just letting their team die on the hook so as not to risk losing the lantern.
-
I'm glad it's over. That event was a travesty.
-
Like yeah it's not gonna look great when used against 2 of its counters. That's the point of it now.
-
Looks good to me
-
Yeah you'll only ever notice the ones that failed. Crouching reduces how much of you is visible and reduces the sounds you make too.

Either way, what's the point? The killer has nothing to do except chase you. Even if you wiggle off, you'll be back on the ground before you know it.
Points? A sliver of hope for a comeback? Being in character? I don't need justification for trying to escape instead of giving up.

yeah just wound me up i got the down fair and square at the gate near the pillar dcs to give the guy the hatch. then other team mates moan at being camped and try justify my rank saying i am where i am at that rank as i suck but they was running all around me. lack of logic is astounding. yeah ah well is what it is
It does suck but honestly there's not much you can do about it. At least take solace in the fact that you a) outplayed him and b) essentially denied him of points and a pip.

why comment if you have nothing constructive to say? let me guess. your one of those guys. ok moving on
It's just that this is a really common discussion that never really goes anywhere. Everyone is gunning for harsher DC penalties, though no one really knows if it'll amount to anything.
-
Oh didn't think of that. Yeah the killer can see the flashlight
-
If we've been hooked then no I'll likely just die. If not I'll try and escape to pick people up and snowball a comeback.
-
I'm wondering if her barf is gonna slow her down to use at all or if she keeps her speed while spewing chunks

what? are u sure?
99% sure. Ive played killer a lot and never once seen it, and nothing in item descriptions indicates the killer can see it. It's just a marker for survivors.
-
Killer can't even see the light beam last I checked.
-
It'd be dumb to close it considering it's literally just information already on this forum

Solo players getting information=SWF getting information. Just don't be altruistic in endgame and leave through the gates or don't run to the gates like an idiot and hide and look for the totem before opening the gates. It's not super hard, there's more counters than just cleansing all totems. If you're currently in a chase and NOED pops then that's too bad, most of the time you'll be hurt anyways once the last gen pops.
SWF getting that information doesn't make a difference because they literally already have that information regardless. It's a change that makes 0 difference to SWF at all.

Considering that noed doesn't activate almost 100% of the time at the rare instances that I actually use it, I'd say it is. People are over exaggerating the severity of noed and it only gained this much attention because DS is getting nerfed, and for some odd reason a large portion of the community likes to compare these two perks like they had anything in common.
I'm not comparing them at all. I'm just saying the only real part of NOED that's actually threatening is when you can't secure all 5 totems alone. Giving solo players that tiny bit of extra information helps even the playing field for them.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Instead of the free info with the totem counter, they can add that to small game instead and make it a new solo friendly perk.
I don't think it's unfair to give solo survivors that kind of info for free when SWF doesn't need a perk for it already

Yes, that is something we can totally agree on.
Listen, I don't want the perk changed, I can handle it, I have no problems with it being part of the gameplay. I just don't want the devs to listen to these killers, since clearly they don't know what they're talking about.
You dont want the perk changed, you're just suggesting the perk be changed. I see, that makes sense.

That's because all who replied are fixated on the gameplay, including @not_Queen . This topic is about ranking and matchmaking.
I wrote in the first paragraph "I can't help but side with the killers on this one, since all you have to do is cleanse the damn totem."
Seems to me no one is actually bothering to read what I wrote and just replying based on the title, which is very rude since all I am doing is coming up with ideas in hopes of making this a better gaming experience for everyone.
Noed and the flawed ranking system are unrelated, plain and simple.

What is the counter for low skill killers playing against high skill survivors? You didn't read the thread either? This is not another NOED thread about gameplay, it's a totally different issue.
You're proposing changes and everyone is telling you it doesn't need those changes.
-
Yeah backwater swamp does that a lot.
-
I don't think noed helps people rank up too fast. I think people rank up too fast by default regardless of noed. Noed is just a great scapegoat for every problem people have in this game

what if you don'T have the time to reach the window? what if as soon as they reach the window you press M2 and once you throw they already moved? same for pallets, what if you jsut never have the time because she'S so slow when charging her hatchets??? there's so many factors, if you are close enough, yes it work and you hit, but most of the time, you aren't in the right position
Then that's a bad huntress for not winding up in time. It really just sounds like you've never encountered an actually competent Huntress. I'm not saying she's Nurse tier but having ranged attacks puts her way above half the killers
-
@suffering23 said:

it's not that i am bad as huntress or just get bad huntress players, it's just so easy to loop her and so easy to dodge, with hag you can put traps to stop the loops, with her, you can't at all
If you're not getting punished at windows and pallets then you're facing bad huntresses. Any arguing beyond that just proves you're unwilling to consider any other factor.
