No idea, BHVR doesn't seem too keen on giving an OFFICIAL win condition for either side.

Currently these feeds into his skill cap. Knowing what can be reliably bounced on and what can not.
I agree it’s a game losing moment to slide off kill shack while chasing a survivor in a time management game.
It reminds me of Nurse from about a year ago. Knowing can be blinked through and what couldn’t.
Well you see, that would be true if the objects you can and can't bounce off of stayed consistent.
But what you're able to bounce off of isn't entirely consistent thanks to BHVR's spaghetti code. Which seems to break in new and imaginative ways with every update.
I wish I could master blight, but a combination of horrible console performance and inconsistent environmental collision keeps me away from him.

If anything it should have a slightly longer distance but remove iframes. If you couldn't DH into walls and dropped pallets to just phase through a hit it would feel a lot more fair from the killer side, and mean the survivor has to have space in front of them to actually dodge the hit.
Dead hard for distance is arguably the most uncounterable part of dead hard.
When a survivor needs just a little bit more distance to make it to a pallet or window, they use DH. Regardless of what the killer does, that survivor will make it to that window or pallet.
Yes, you remove I- frames. But you make the worst part of the perk an even bigger problem.
-
No, DDLC just doesn't fit DBD at all.
-
Let them also use zanshin tactics and dance with me.
Those perks seem like necessary noob starters but they're locked behind a paywall. Unless they feel like waiting for the slim chance they'll appear in the shrine.
-
For as long as DBD has existed perks have been used as a crutch for bad design.
Which is part of the reason slowdown perks are necessary for killers. Or the fact that without a handful of perks you have no base game protection from tunneling or camping.
Point is, they need to prioritize a balanced base game, that way perks won't be necessary to balance bad design decisions.
-
BHVR has this tendency to change stuff around the problem instead of addressing the problem itself.

I got pushed down to purple ranks and it's been pretty fun and chill. I'm totally happy to lose.
The problem is that sweaty SWF's and killers also got pushed down, so I basically had 5 days of bliss and then it's rank 1 gameplay but in purple ranks and I genuinely can't go down any further without actively depipping.
Yeah, really wish the sweatlords could have their own separate lobbies. But BHVR doesn't want to split the playerbase so we're stuck with them.

@IDewDew said:
Finally played survivor in green rank after 2 months and it's a nightmare. Nobody does gens because they're bad and killers are boring to get chased by because they suck. When people say they want chill games or less sweaty games it only means they want to play with or against bad players
No, I just don't want to have EVERY SINGLE game be a sweatfest that sucks the fun out of DBD.
And trust me, you'll probably feel the same way when you reach red ranks.
-
Billy... my boi got outright neutered in terms of addons. Where only a handful are useful, and some are just straight up useless.

@DelsKibara said:
Honestly I kinda wish I can stay in Green Ranks more often.
Games are not too sweaty, so I can chill as Killer without feeling like I need to pull the earth everytime I play.
Red Rank games always leaves me exhausted at the end, and idk if that is a good feeling to have.
Yeah, I get the exhausted feeling often as a red ranked killer. To the point that playing that role feels like it's more trouble than it's worth.
Although I've been playing for 1149 hours and still feel like I've hardly improved. So that could be a factor.

@humanbeing1704 said:
honestly not really I've been hardstuck rank 5 for like a year and a half now and if you ask me that is the perfect rank for survivor gameplay
There's a nice spot where survivors don't feel untouchable, but aren't too easy to catch either.

People will insult you for anything regardless of whether or not they actually hate something about you. They'll cling on to any aspect of you they can get their hands on and insult you about it.
Just the nature of DBD's salty playerbase, it's best you either get used to it. Or turn off the end game chat.

would be so could if we get that back.
Yeah, it would at least allow them to make maps dark and atmospheric.
Without letting claudettes thrive more than they already do on some of the maps.

@Soulpaw said:
i think the only problem was for stealth killers being given away but thats a simple fix honestly.
I don't believe the survivors could see it, as far as I remember each role could only see their own glow.
I don't remember for a fact if survivors had a glow or not. I'll probably have to watch a couple videos of that PTB.
-
I find it really funny, most of the time any wraith worth their salt would be running windstorm anyway. Yet no one was complaining then.
But now that he has any base mobility he's all of a sudden "OP."

I'm holding off on being excited for this. Who knows how they'll break the game with this update.

I'm currently playing red dead redemption 2, and it is running like a dream on an old ps4.
The instant I try dbd, my ps4 is fighting for its damn life.

@LinkOfSerevillon said:
None of those reasons were the reason I thought he should be nerfed. As someone who plays primarily survivor, I despised playing against billy because he was a character that had insane mobility and an insta down to boot and was very easy. I confirmed this when I started playing Billy myself at the time and despite being horrible at chases, I was able to win often just using my chainsaw for mobility and when i got to rank 10, i was able to just hold my chainsaw and get instadowns. The only perks I ever ran on him were tinkerer, enduring, and whatever other generic perks i had. I got to rank 3 pretty easily and then I started playing other killers and saw just how hard killer was to actually play lol. Billy was a crutch and when they nerfed him I didnt have any other super easy killer I could run without needing slowdown perks. I didnt like it at first but then realized that it also meant I didnt have to struggle against him as much which Im thankful for and would rather have no killer i can play well if that means not having to deal with him as survivor. Even if that also means I can no longer have easy games as killer.
Consider making that into paragraphs.

@Altarf said:
It was because he had a very high kill rate. Plus, Almo has gone on record (at least to my knowledge) that Hillbilly is his least favourite killer. This probably didn't have too much impact as the balance team consists of many people, but it's something to note.
They wanted to make that killrate go down, and they sure did.
Well I mean... we both know most measurable metrics aren't entirely reliable for dbd. Too many factors to measure a lot of things properly, etc.
The only thing that was busted was his instasaw addons, everything else was fine.

So then why is almost every killer I get matched with on console? Because it's unplayable? Of course not, they're playing the game and they can do it damn well.
Just because it sucks really bad to play killer doesn't mean people won't play that role. People will play what they feel like playing regardless of the issues that are present.

Yeah, I suppose that is true. Which is very sad, to be honest.
People should understand that just because they got beaten doesn't mean the other side is "OP" or "broken".
But maybe that is too much to ask.
Yep, for a community like DBD's it is too much to ask.
To be fair though some things need to be complained about for it be hopefully noticed by the devs.
( kind of like how coldwind still sucks balance wise for most killers )
-
@gendoss said:
I know for a fact that killer is not unplayable on console because there are plenty of Twins mains that are playing just fine on console right now. Stop trying to call the game unplayable because every person that is playing on console right now would disagree with you.
I don't disagree with him and i play on console.
I play survivor because it's the only way I can bare to play right now. Killer is unplayable because the slightest bit of lag will cause you to lose a survivor in chase. Also using any killer power will cause lag, etc, etc.
Don't claim to speak for all console players if you don't actually represent how we feel.

That is true, but I do recall seeing people complaining about it. Which, truth be told, I never really understood why.
The only "OP" thing about Billy was the infamous Insta-Saw, and even that can be debatable.
People will complain about everything, especially if they get beaten by somebody who's better than them.
And against someone who's good at curving and timing with crack billy... woo boy they would be destroyed.
-
@GeneralV said:
There is the Crack Billy, but I don't think it was complained about as much as Insta-Saw was.
Crack billy really only worked for good Billy's. Otherwise it was just better map traversal, depending on the map of course.

@Crazewtboy said:
P3 Billy main here. I would argue that Billy is still one of the best killers on the roster. He still has decent map pressure after the changes and his kit is good. But, like Nurse, he has a learning curve which some people are not ready for. In my opinion, no killer should be super easy to learn. You should have to really know how to use a killer in order to bring out their full potential and Billy, Nurse, Spirit are great examples of that. Do I like his overheat feature/cooldown they added? No. I hate it for the simple fact it messes with my cross maps. However I understand why they did it. Only thing I would change about Billy is make it so his overheat does not start while revving his chainsaw. Only when sprinting
Let's also be fair, DBD doesn't provide a positive learning environment for people looking to pick up new killers.
Of course you don't expect to do well with a killer you just started learning. But by god do survivors manage to sometimes make it a truly miserable experience.

@ChurchofPig said:
They're probably going to make the map updates during chapter patches so killers that don't have a map at least come with a graphically updated (sometimes completely reworked) map.
One of the main points I'm trying to articulate is how the devs aren't communicating a simple change in release schedule.
It would literally take one sentence to say "hey guys, we're pushing back the release of this map overhaul to the next chapter."
But no, instead we get silence on something that is easily communicable.
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
They do the realm reworks in place of new maps. We got a new map with this Chapter, so ergo, there won't be a realm rework.
Who's to say they're continuing the reworks, anyhow? Just about every realm has already had one.
Well I mean... they wanted to rework every old map. So one could reasonably assume that haddonfield, backwater swamp, and red forest would get overhauled. Especially since they are very old and visually outdated maps. I don't see them stopping when there are still more reworks to be done ( especially on maps that desperately need it ).
Before the resident evil chapter they stuck to the schedule of one overhaul per major update. With a delay for coldwind causing it to be pushed back to a mid chapter update.
So we could assume they would stick to the same schedule. Especially since they developed RPD alongside other realm reworks before the resident evil chapter released.
Ergo, they would reasonably stick to the same schedule. Or not, going by the lack of overhaul teasers for this update.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
Wasn't it disabled most of the time, though? Feel like that is a guaranteed delay. And we probably aren't getting a map next chapter either, so they have time... I guess.
I'm referring to the realm overhauls that usually take place in major updates.
This mid chapter has had no teases for a realm overhaul, leading me to believe there isn't going to be one for this update.
I'm not upset that we aren't getting one, I'm upset because they don't even tell us they're delaying ( if they even are delaying the realm overhaul for this mid chapter ). When all it would take is a single sentence to tell us.
-
The map was designed for resident evil gameplay, not DBD gameplay.
That should be the only thing that has to be said.
-
The stalker from deathgarden.
Her design can fit in with DBD's use of forest imagery. While keeping a piece of deathgarden alive as a killer.
-
This change has probably been in the pipeline for a while, otherwise they wouldn't have shared it with us.
They'll probably have more conditions, otherwise why nerf a perk you know you're going to buff in a later update.

I think it's mostly just a luck thing but there is a difference between the loot rarities a prestige character gets and the loot a non-prestige gets. It's a small a difference but it could add up I suppose
It could be adding up, either my luck is selectively bad on prestige characters or the numbers are screwy somehow.

It's been an increase in killers going extra hard, and it's noticeable they target the original survivors not wearing 5th year crown cosmetic. Survivors are going extra hard to escape, especially the ones trying for crown that are now more likely to hide for hatch or bring key. Usually it's not nearly every match you have killers and survivors playing like this. Same thing happened last year and once event was over everyone chilled out.
Regardless of how you feel the killer's job is to kill.
It's literally in the name of the role.

DbD itself is 5 years old aswell.
Optimizing or at least fixing common Fps drop triggers shouldn't be too hard
In comparison,games like Overwatch have WAY mire action going on but without ANY performance issues at all
Plus my ps4 can run ghost of tsushima and RDR2 no problem. DBD is the only game my ps4 struggles with.

A couple problems with this idea.
1. Ninjas are Japanese and Trickster is Korean. Not the biggest problem, but still I know that BHVR want the characters to stay "true" whatever tha means.
2. No Legendary skin has changed the "equipment" skin of any killer. What I mean is that Trapper's bear traps don't have any alternative looks, Wraiths bell, Billy and Bubba's chainsaws, etc.
Not that it wouldn't be cool, I just don't see them introducing anything like that any time soon.
Oni is japanese, minotaur is a greek myth.
There is a first time for everything. In fact legendary's changing the skin of the killers power would make the $15 price tag worth it.

It’s not up to bhvr if console gets bug fixes, it’s up to Microsoft and Sony. They force developers to have patches ready a long time in advance so they can approve them and after they are approved they can’t make any changes to said patch. If Microsoft and Sony don’t care about the bugs getting fixed they won’t get fixed since the patches won’t get approved. So blame those two ######### scum bag companies that legitimately only care about money instead of blaming bhvr for everything
I'm talking about overall poor console optimization as well. You'd know that if you read the entire post.
One could reasonably assume it would be the devs that are responsible for making the game run well on consoles.

In scenarios where trickster can consistently down someone via hitting all their knives in a row, Huntress doesn't need to charge hatchet.
Good example is vaults. Huntress is rocking a 2 second health state on a vault or pallet throw, which is a common event and its a space where you actually need your power quite badly. Trickster can... kinda do fractional damage on top of that if they get lucky or are prepared? But in reality fractional damage doesn't matter that much.
Trickster is only more lethal in very specific scenarios where the survivors essentially aren't trying to avoid your knives for multiple seconds. These scenarios are not realistic.
The lethality gap in that scenario is not relevant enough to make up for the case where the survivor is so bad you would get the down anyway. Having a TTK that is 50% as long as Huntress in some situations and 200% in others sounds fine and good until you realize the situations your getting that 50% TTK are situations the huntress has a 10 second TTK while the situations where you have a 200% TTK are situations where the huntress has a 30 minute TTK and are more common.
Once you actually account for what killers need as opposed to imagining white room scenarios, its really clear that Trickster has a lethality problem. Which, again, makes sense. 'Burst damage' is generally better in most scenarios, which is why games 'bias' towards sniper rifles unless you work hard to avoid it. This isn't a unique 'DBD' issue, its just that trying to make Trickster compete with Huntress... dooms him.
Christ, you should be the OP of this post. Making WAY better points than I ever could.
