Before his nerfs, people said Freddy stacking his two gen slowdown addons and 4 gen defense perks was a brainless easy win. At one point I probably would have agreed, but looking back my opinion was based more on boredom/being sick of facing it over and over - something that I've tried not to base my opinions on too much lately.

As for Wraith, It was a similar thing, some people found him really obnoxious due to the default increased speed and the extended lunge which got nerfed and led to what we have today

I think the big thing was overexposure - People (Like myself as an example) would face Wraith and Freddy like 3-4 times in a row and it got old really fast. In a similar vein to how killers hate seeing 4 DHs if that makes sense.

My opinions on those two have def shifted. I actually enjoy facing Freddy and Wraith these days.

I just meant their current versions.

I've heard about their pasts, but I can't understand how anyone would think they're free kills in DBD's current state.

That has to be the best advice for sluzzy definitely: Learn to play the game. 😂

    Sluzzy's a veteran of DBD.

like, I'm pretty sure everyone on the forums who's played against or with them is scared to go against them on the other side.

they're just a troll. Mobody as unknowledgeable as Sluzzy pretends to be couldn't possibly have only bad ideas.

  • I'm more how confused how anyone thinks Wraith or Freddy is somehow a free win.

Anyone with any amount of situational awareness won't have an issue with either any more than any other killer.

I got back into the game a few weeks ago and I have noticed that I seem to escape on most of my Survivor games, and 80% of my Killer matches are sweat-fests with gens popping left and right and 4 Dead Hards. With Circle of Healing and all, seems like the game just keeps getting easier for the average Survivor. Is Killer just impossible to enjoy nowadays?

Killer's always been the power role, most people just care at least a little about enjoyment, variety, and a challenge.

I'm sure if you played 3 blink nurse, used noed, tunnelled aggressively, and camped, you could secure at least a couple of kills easily.

the thing is, winning without trying is no fun, and most people want other people to have fun.

or at least, that's my 2 cents.

CoH's an issue because it removes variety from the game and pushes people closer to playing to win instead of for enjoyment/storytelling.

Wait, what? For real? Can you source this? because if you can, you just made my ######### day!!!

I can't remember my source, unfortunately, but I remember hearing that it's probably getting added with the twins QoL.

it's on the list of future changes, unless I'm super misremembering.

I have seen it very often in suggestion and I would very much apriciate it myself, even if it would just be single-player costumgame, but was there ever an actual reasons with an actual reason why the devs aren't doing it?

  • @Pike said:

I liked playing David because I could relate to him as an athletic, straight, white male. I have invested millions upon millions of bps into David and probably bought an outfit or two. I can't exactly remember if I've spent Auric Cells on him because I have around 2k hours over the course of 2-3 years and have all survivors, killers, and many cosmetics. I haven't played in around 4-5 months or so but always left the game installed open to the possibility of playing again if the game was ever balanced.

Anyway, I did think it might be nice to see the new Haddonfield revamp and Legion rework. However, today I learned that David King's backstory has been retconned for no obvious reason. I'm not gay and can't relate to him. I'm not sure why the decision was made to retcon a character that people like myself can relate to and have invest tons of time and resources into but none the less I want all the BPs and potentially any ACs I have invested in him refunded so that I can funnel them into a character that I can relate to. Instead of creating a new character that the gay community can relate to, your company decided that my personal preference (not to mention in game time investment) is not as important as someone else's with a different preference.

So, can we get refunds to spend on characters we can relate to? Its very important to many people to have relatable characters in videogames, movies, books, music, ect. If that is going to be taken from one group of people and given to another, thats fine, but I want my investment back. I can only imagine how terrible the gay community would feel if BHVR created a gay survivor they could get behind only to turn around sometime later and announce that survivor to now all of a sudden be straight.

this has to be a shitpost.

I'm sure nobody would fail to realize that if people can only emotionally invest with characters with the same sexuality than DBD would have a much less queer community.

Yeah the accumulating penalty can be a bit harsh toward legit loss of connection or real need to go afk.

The shorter initial time isn’t a bad thing though, ramp up at 5 min intervals and cap at 20 mins.

Is that enough of a deterrent though?

what if it started at 10?

the average dbd match takes 8 minutes, so a ten minute ban for bad behaviour would still be a good starting deterrent.

I've seen quite a lot of people calling Save The Best For Last "Demogorgon's Best Perk", and I don't get it.

I have a few theories about why it's such a popular choice on him:

    • Stacks are easy to maintain thanks to Shred
    • It allows for a 1-2 combo (M1 --> Shred)
    • People have seen popular streamers use it on him
    • The Perk feels good to use

I get why Save The Best For Last could be used on Demogorgon, but I still don't understand why it's used so often, nor why it's "His Best Perk", when it has a few, pretty big flaws:

    • You're forced to M1 and neglect your Shred, a really strong chase tool, to get Stacks
    • It can back-fire considerably, if the Survivors realize you have it equipped
    • It takes a while to actually start working

And now, onto Save The Best For Last's biggest problem:

    • Black Heart, a Common rarity Add-on, does it's job better, without needing to gather Stacks, and applies it to your Shred instead of M1s

So, if any fellow Demogorgon player could enlighten me and show why it's such a good Perk on him, please do

    (shrug)

    I much prefer MYC.

Had a 4 stack against me as Myers (not a fan of Myers just want to get his stupid 300 Tier Increase achievment done and never play him again). All 4 used Bloody Party Streamers. Two are TTVs. I decide since they were kind enough to use Streamers I should just convert at the start and all of us get points.

But that is not what happened. I try being nice and they all hide around corners and click flashlights trying to deny an Evil Within increase. I try swinging my weapon at the generator to show I want them to do it and be nice. They won't come out so I just leave and come back, all 4 disperse again in different corners.

I decide fine I will just try to play then. Try chasing, they use typical sweaty tactics but 3 of them always run close together and flashlight click and tbag spam the whole time after vaults and pallets for about 1 minute. I decide you know what I'm in Tier 1, and they are trolling just to be rude so they can't get any boldness from me and go stand in a corner as I don't need these bloodpoints. I sit there the rest of the match. I pull up one of the streamers who is live and they are raging out of their minds that I'm wasting their Party Streamers throwing all kinds of insults my way.

At the end of the match they all say they are reporting me for abusing mechanics so they can't get points from their Streamers and go for a solid minute with insults about me and my family. Am I really the one being toxic here or am I just giving them their just desserts?

Sounds like they just wanted a real game.

You wanted to farm, they wanted bonus bp for playing normally.

Sounds like they overreacted if they seriously overreacted if they started hurling abuse like that.

You're in the right because they started being childish and stupid, but it sounds like neither of you did anything wrong in-game.

We are done here. You're clearly trolling by claiming Survivor meta is only useful against unfair killers.

On top of that, you are completely ignoring that placing the boon pays for itself, and Survivors can place a boon and still have other Survivors doing gens. As I have said repeatedly, but your reply is basically 'But they can't' with no supporting argument other than vague silence and dodging the issue.

If you're not going to argue in good faith or just going to troll; please leave my thread. I don't want trolls here.

Doctor main because he's just fun to play and he can easily rack up the BP. I recently started Insidious Basement Bubba (or just Insidious Bubba if I'm too far from a basement) and he's just fun in general... for the Killer anyway lol.

O.K, so maybe "Kindred" for Camping bubba counterplay?

  • @xBlitzAce1989x said:

It depends on the map (which is random without an offering). Actually, let me dig deeper into this. Some of the maps have blind spots which can make hooking rather difficult if survivors are running certain builds. Since I play random matches most of the time, I run Tenacity, Boil Over, Flip-Flop, and Power Struggle. FF never gets swapped out just because of what it does. Even a little bit of recovery can mean the difference between wiggling out and getting hooked and it can automatically activate Power Struggle which has helped me find hatch dozens of times. Back to the original point, there are ways to counter this as a Killer. If you know there's a hook nearby, dropping down isn't the end of the world, but you have to consider how long the survivor was down and consider the fact that they might have FF. Iron Grasp and Agitation are being used as a counter to a lot of issues. As a survivor, I hate both of those perks but as a killer, they are pretty useful. Also, if it's an SWF, feel free to just slug because they might have DS.

That doesn't really follow the discussion topic, since being unhookable is a form of counterplay for everyone but PH.

Who's your favorite killer to play as?

  • @Piruluk said:

DbD's huge success was always thanks to the fact that playing survivor is so much fun, easy and casual friendly(+ licensed killers survivors/killers ).

The recent constant nerfs on survivor side since years is getting quite worrying. As you know there is a talk about gutting Dead Hard to be useless and 2 killer getting buffed, a map reworked to be killer sided( massive dead zones), Circle of Healing made useless for solo, and of course healing will also gets nerfed to take forever.

No new perk allowed to be meta for survivors. Example would be Boil over or parental guidance, or in the past lucky break rework nerfed into ground, all of them destroyed by killer main demands.

The only item worth is bringing now is medkit as survivor(thanks to toolbox nerfs, hatch nerf so keys are useless, flashlight only good for killers) the question is how long since soon even healing will be taken away to suit killer main demands.

The point is the game getting very hard for casuals and devs have to really think whatever is it worth to lose huge part of survivor playerbase.

    This is hilarious.

  • Underrated: Clown. Clown's actually pretty oppressive in chase.

Overrated: Sadako and Slinger are both a lot weaker than they seem from a survivor point of view.

None of them were even that good in the chase. Yet I get a 1k.

Utter garbage and I'm getting sick of it.

If someone is fighting that hard to be unhookable, just let them enjoy the ground.

    they brought that on themselves.

  • @Bartlaus said:

... would you agree? Are you survivor or killer main? Or do you play both sides equally?

I've noticed a lot of complaint discussions about DH today (actually as always 😂) so this question came to my mind. I would suggest killswitching both perks for a test weekend.

To me Dead Fart is by far the strongest survivor perk and my biggest crutch in Solo Q. That's why I use this perk almost every match. With Dead Hard for distance I can extremely extend almost every chase. Still, I would appreciate it if this perk were removed from the game. NOED doesn't bother me that much personally, but I wouldn't miss it since I never play with NOED. But it is survivor's most hated perk. By the way, I play both sides equally, so I'm a DBD main :3

    Easy deal.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I think what set it off was the execution because it is an interesting concept and their perks were good I think it's just with a few bad add-ons and their ability not fully working aka it takes to long to switch between them if they changed it I feel like Twins could have been good.

Even then there could have been an add-on like what Wraith has where when you disconnect Victor or switch between them there's no noise que.

    Huntress has worse teachable perks.

Hell, the original killers themselves are miles stronger than any licensed one.

My point still stands, the only good perks are on og killers

    Seriously.

I'm honestly proud of the devs for keeping a pattern of making licenced characters B tier or lower. (The video game characters being A tier as the exception)

Personally, as long as the survivor is otherwise participating, I don’t mind it, even when I’m a killer. But if they’re not doing gens or unhooking team mates and seem to do nothing but try to bait me into chases so they can then fall in the corner of the level, I think that’s abuse.

Then again, it can keep the killer busy while their team mates get gens done.

    So what do you think?

    positioning is one thing.

being literally impossible to hook is another.

This is often getting projected towards other things in dbd that has nothing or little to do with the actual problems, for example the devs mainly. Not saying the devs are perfect and doing everything right but they do pretty good changes mostly overall which is often getting just looked passed or even ignored.

I have the feeling that most of these ppl that feel like that simply dont play or refuse to try out other games. Many of my friends ONLY play dbd, I was able to convince 2 friends to play 7 days with me after a long and excessive sellout of the game (Tried to convince them over 3 weeks to try it out). Now they love that game and we play it almost every day and we all 3 barely play dbd now.

I met alot of ppl personaly who just play dbd and never something else thats why I wanna see how it looks like on the forums, do you play any other games actively trying to blow off some steam and coming back to dbd after you feel rdy for it?

I personaly have a big variaty of other games I often play such as Hearthstone, Black ops 4 zombies and 7 days to die.
