To report a player, first, file an in-game report. Then, you can submit your video on the support webpage: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
you can learn more about the report process here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

The DC penalty will decay over time. However, we're not sharing the decay rate specifically.
-
I'd like to make this clear - playing with friends and using discord is not cheating. It is allowed, and not against game rules whatsoever.
-
Hi, folks, keep it civil and respectful. Make sure to keep your posts about the topic rather than devolving to insults. Thank you kindly.
-
Please remember that this is not a confirmed feature; while it was tested in the Finisher Mori PTB, there's no guarantee that it will be implemented in the live game.
-
Thank you for reporting this issue. It has been shared with the team; however, the office is closed for holidays currently. We will update once more information is available.
-
Hi folks, let's please remain civil. I appreciate there are strong feelings around the topic, and at the same time, we need to remain respectful in our discussions. Thank you kindly.

Can I get some clarification on this, please?
I've only ever heard that 'slugging isn't against the rules', which is true. Not all slugging falls into a 'BM' or greifing category, obviously, so there's nuance to this that can be hard to capture.
But in the past, I've had killers who, when everyone is dead already, stand over my body as I bleed out throwing hatchets at me. Even crawling past several functional hooks, not getting picked up and more hatchets and swinging. Until I eventually bleed out on the ground.
So in this kind of extreme griefing instance, I should be submitting reports for this? I admit it's rare for this level, but I'd always been under the impression that this exact scenario is 'not reportable, don't bother.'
Or maybe I misunderstood and you're only offering an alternative for video upload without trying to imply that the report is valid or actionable.
I was intending to validate the use of Youtube as a solution to video limits.
As for the topic itself - slugging is on the invalid report list as it is a valid game mechanic (https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408586353940-Invalid-report-reasons) and is not reportable.
Griefing often refers to someone is targeting the same person over and over to ruin their experience. In order to make a valid report for griefing, on top of an in-game report, video evidence would need to be provided that demonstrates specific player targeting across multiple games.

garden of joy - too big and too much clutter. has too many strong vault locations that are often located right next numerous safe pallets. why is there a killer shack on this map when the main building is already so oppressive?
eyrie of crows - it's too big with far too many pallets AND a killer shack. this would be a great map if it wasn't so big.
lampkin lane rework - it's again, too big. with several extremely oppressive vaulting locations. this map is only playable for killer because it has a strong 3 gen strategy
shattered square - every tile has a safe pallet, often times multiple strong vaults are chained together. there's also a killer shack here, why? and the color of the map makes scratch marks hard to see.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on these!

Thank you for sharing your suggestions on this topic!

i don't know if it's reportable or not ,even if it is,,you can just play badly and get caught without running directly to the killer,,being bad isn't reportable for sure,,,and you owe nothing to other people,,specially people on net
You can report for AFK under Unsportsmanlike Conduct, as it's not normal gameplay.

I wish I could upvote this topic more than once. People self-killing on hook and how rampant its gotten made me leave the game for half a year this summer. I just got back, and its somehow worse. It's how folks get around DCing; because of this, it should be treated in the same wave of punishment rampup.
It's nearly impossible to apply consequences to suiciding on hook the same as DCs due to factors such as lag impacting struggle attempts, failed Kobes, etc.
All that to say, we appreciate the frustration that is being experienced and feedback is vital to the game health.

Try adding the video to You Tube and then providing the link in the report. This is what I do for my the games I have hackers
I agree - a video can be uploaded to Youtube (for example as unlisted) and then put the link in the support ticket.
For clarity - slugging is not reportable. You can see the list of what is or is not reportable here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

First let me say hello and welcome to the forums!
I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this. I understand your frustration around player quitting.
The DC penalty is kept small at the beginning as things do happen (such as an emergency). And with the penalties stacking, it's intended to give appropriate consequences with recurring behavior.
I'm afraid someone dying on the hook is near impossible to monitor, given factors such as missing skill checks, failing the 4% attempt, etc.
That said, we value your feedback and will continue to monitor things such as DCs and how they are affecting gameplay.

Can you add details as to what you are not enjoying about these maps?
-
New forums, WOOHOO!!!! 😍
Happy to see you all here!
-
It's a perk that can be useful in clutch situations! It's definitely a perk with pros and cons, as you're banking on it being useful in a later part of the match, such as on a more guarded gen. ^^
-
Hello folks,
This thread is now closed. As a reminder, please remain on topic, respectful, and steer clear of controversial/ political topics.
-
Interesting question! I'm afraid I've no details on that, and we will just have to wait and see how the bots develop over time. 😊
-
Hi there! Love to hear that you're enjoying the bots! 😊
It is a hope to have perks/loadouts for bots in the future (though likely not all due to the complexity and volume of perks). Not ETA for this, though!

Nah it was exciting.... Now it's just sad.
Not even a post to say 'Sorry, we've found some issues and disabled it while we fix them'.
We don't support Steam Deck yet, but we'd like to! We have no ETA currently. Please keep an eye on official channels for announcements on progress when SteamDeck support is available!

The issue with the pallets notwithstanding (and it's still a massive issue, please don't get me wrong) the visual and collision issues are also affecting players badly as demonstrated by most of the comments in this thread - please don't let them slide under the radar as well!
Much appreciated..
Hello! I can assure that all feedback is being monitored closely! We encourage everyone to keep posting feedback, bugs, etc, as they come up.

What factors could you possibly be considering when deciding not to killswitch a map. It has bugged tiles. The abundance of red is to much and there are collision issues galore. Honestly i'm Alt F4 if i see an offering for this map because i refuse to play it. if i get it randomly then i just don't try and wander around just breaking pallets that are dropped till the game is over for a few points.
surely the issues with this map warrent a kill switch?
I appreciate the sentiment here and I empathize with the frustration being experienced. We try not to kill switch for every issue, as it's a pretty hefty response. A re-weighting was deemed appropriate at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation. As always, thank you for the feedback.
-
Please report bugs as you experience them with detail in the bug reports section! The more detail the better. 😊 Thank you!!
-
Comments directed as feedback towards developers are moved to the appropriate section as needed.

Hello!
This is currently being investigated.

I think the least you guys can do is killswitch the map offering so survivors cant take advantage of a bugged map for easy matches against killers. I was taken to the new map last night like 10 to 15 times and each match was miserable to play.
Thank you for the feedback! Kill switching is used in serious cases, and the map is actively being monitored. We empathize with the frustration players are having, which is why we went with reduced weight at this time. If you run into any other issues with the map, please report the bugs so we can keep an eye on it. Thank you again for letting us know! Please keep an eye on official channels for further updates regarding hotfixes or killswitches. Thank you!

This is a really disappointing response. I realize that nobody on the dev team wants to kill switch a brand new map, but it’s absolutely miserable to play as killer and there have been a ton of complaints on this forum and other forums already. The specific complaints are 1) it is bugged with too many pallets and 2) it’s very difficult to see scratch marks and elements of the map look very similar to scratch marks.
Unfortunately it looks like there are plenty of killers that are still willing to play right now so I guess there’s really no incentive or urgency to kill switch the map. As long as there are enough people playing the game these problems will not be addressed quickly, it seems.
I appreciate your reply and your frustrations are valid! We take note of feedback here and share it accordingly. As mentioned in the other thread, the weight of the map has now been reduced to that of the other maps while this bug exists. I encourage everyone to continue posting their feedback, bugs, and any other relevant information (in the correct forums of course) for data collection. We take bugs that affect gameplay very seriously, and will continue to monitor the situation. Thank you!

Why hasn’t it been killswitched then? How long will killers have to put up with this? This map spawns every other game so it’s not like killers only have to deal with it infrequently
I really appreciate your question and sharing your thoughts on this. Kill switching requires a lot of consideration and factors to execute. That said, your feedback is so important to us. We have reduced the weight of the map to normal chances while this bug remains.
-
Hi there! Thank you for sharing this feedback. Please file bug reports about any issues you are having as well, if you haven't already!

It should be disabled until it is fixed then.
Everyone is getting a bad first impression of the map and you never get a chance to make a first impression ever again.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter! Kill switching is something that is done with a lot of consideration and many factors need to be considered; please be assured the team is actively looking into this issue!
-
Howdy! So you're aware, there is a bugged tile that's spawning too many pallets.

Hello there! Essentially yes, this is holding the game hostage and griefing.
Body blocking a survivor in the corner before endgame collapse happens is breaking the rules. It's griefing that survivor.
-
my first moments of dbd were watching youtubers play it. back in 2016, i didn't even know twitch was a thing. Thanks, dbd obsession, for showing me the way!
I spent a lot of time watching videos. Then when videos weren't enough, I watched streamers like KangGaming and SwingPoynt. Then when that wasn't enough, I found out about Twitch and watched a lot of Bahroo.
I started as a claudette and hillbilly main! 😊
-
I have never even CONSIDERED putting something on a corndog before this post!

I will send you a message. 😊

spies from the shadows is funny to run. people don't usually expect it.
any means necessary doesn't get a lot of use in my games, but when it does, it can lead to some epic teamwork saves!
-
I like hex perks on characters with a lot of map control. Then again--I love playing characters with map control. Coincidence?
-
Sometimes I forget to look at whispers when I equip it! That said, I think it's a useful perk to run. ☺️

… look… it’s still a costume. There aren’t that many chinchillas in spooky costumes as i thought okay?
also bonus points for rainbow flag 🏳️🌈
oh my gosh your room is amazing!
-
Since I can't switch my killer character in the lobby like a survivor can, I do take note of items. For example, if I am playing a killer I don't play often, I might take different perks or addons to get through the match

I've wondered if I would even have the strength to throw one down!
