The reason Killers hate Dead Hard isn't because of the distance it covers, they hate it because it essentially erases a mistake and can extend loops to a insane degree, and even out in the open, you have to just sit on the survivor's rear and bait out the Dead Hard, which is a waste of time, Sprint Burst cannot do that nor can it erase a mistake on the survivor's part unless they are very good at 99ing it
yeah.
It's just annoying.
Sprint burst prevents/ends chases, dead hard makes them longer at no cost. Head On extends chases, but it only has one use, and it's not exactly easy to use in chase.

Charlotte is a she, victor is just a gremlin and her power so no need anything more than "she" when referring to her
Victor is a male character with a distinct personality to charlotte though.

Isn't the Dredge established to be born from the negative emotions of the entire town though? The town unknowingly created the monster that Stamper had warned them about by suppressing their own emotions, and the eldritch god is the Entity, which is the same being that the cult was worshipping in Elodie Rakoto's story.
yes, but the eldritch god they summoned by those means uses singular they as a result of not falling into the gender binary (being an ungendered great old one.)

Habitual defaults are hard to unlearn.
It's the same reason people still call Legion a "he" when they are a "They" in the most literal sense as they are made of 4 people.
same for people calling twins "her".
They are literally named the twins. plural.

@AMOGUS said:
Isn't it technically a "they" or "it" like Demogorgon?
I've been using they/them for them.
although that's partially because I really want to be able to play as a character who uses singular they pronouns.
also, before anyone says anything, no, the dredge does use singular they, because The Dredge isn't the amalgamation of corpses, but the eldritch god summoned to possess the amalgamation of corpses, and said eldritch god uses singular they.

A legitimately curious question.
I used to play Freddy a lot more before he got his power completely reworked. Aside from the long amount of time it took for a survivor to actually enter the dream world (and even this didn't pose the most terrible of problems, in my opinion) I actually liked the original Freddy power concept better. It does sound silly on paper to say, "Oh, well, my killer power allows me to hit survivors," but in practice, I didn't think it was that bad. It felt thematically fitting to the character to pull survivors into the dream world.
Whenever I play as Freddy now, I often forget that I even have a power, to be honest. Dream snares definitely have their uses, but if I want to slow survivors down, I'd personally rather just play as the Clown. And teleporting to a generator across the map is great, of course, but it just doesn't give me the same level of satisfaction as the old Freddy power did. I felt more like a dream demon with his original power. With his current power, I sort of feel like I'm just plopping down banana peels and hoping the survivor slips on them. XD
The purpose of this post isn't to complain, though. I wanted to talk to people who main Freddy about how they make playing as him a fun and unique experience. Because honestly, maybe I just need a new perspective on Freddy to get the most use and entertainment out of him while playing. As it is right now, I lowkey feel like a Trapper playing without traps when I play as Freddy, and that's not exactly ideal.
So how do you guys play as Freddy? What makes the experience unique to you? I'm curious to hear what others' perspectives on this killer is. :3
I like him, and I can really see the potential of a fun and unique killer.
I wish that his kit had more hallucinations.
but no, I don't main him. (unless I've just rewatched NOES, in which case I might for a few days.)

@[Deleted User] said:
Uhh, try the top floor. You basically cannot use the power on the 2nd floor. If you play as freddy on game with no dream pallets you are at a major disadvantage.
I wasn't having any trouble on the top floor for some reason.

Context for my changes: Most of them are in the spirit of BHVR's announced intention to change the meta. Therefore I'm more focused on buffing perks up rather than nerfing them, which can come later if needed. Additionally, I've given survivors many information perks as basekit features in order to lower the disparity between SWF and solo. Meanwhile, killers have two free extra perk slots.
General game changes:
Gates can no longer be 99'd, they degenerate at a rate of 2% per second when not being interacted with.
Endgame Collapse now lasts three minutes instead of two, but begins as soon as the final generator is completed.
Perks that reveal the Killer do not work on killers that are in stealth/undetectable (excluding Spine Chill.)
Survivors: Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Kindred, Aftercare, Deja Vu, Empathy, Situational Awareness, Visionary, and Bond are now basekit (passive for all survivors.)
Killers: Killers now have two extra perk slots.
Call of Brine is now basekit, but only works on kicks. Additionally, kicking a gen immediately knocks off 5%.
Basement Hooks are now considered Scourge Hooks.
Killer Perk changes:
Beast of Prey - Walking on pools of blood increases your movement speed by 10%. This effect is immediately lost and goes on a 30 second cooldown if you are outside of a pool of blood for two seconds. (Makes chases without mindgames viable)
Blood Echo - Additionally makes survivors Broken. Hemorrhage effect is no longer on a duration, and will only be removed upon fully healing. No longer has a cooldown.
Jolt - No longer has a cooldown.
Coulrophobia - Still has the same effect, with an addition: When a survivor looks at you, they are filling a Fear Meter. When the Fear Meter reaches maximum, they scream. Beginning a chase with them and hitting them by any means also increases Fear.
Thrilling Tremors - The ability will only go on cooldown if it blocks all generators.
Bloodhound - It still makes blood brighter, but with an additional effect. Upon stepping on a survivor's pool of blood, all sounds they make become twice as loud for 30 seconds. This includes footsteps, breathing, repairing, etc. ALL sounds. This effect can only be on one survivor at a time.
Brutal Strength - Kick speed increased from 20% to 30%. Basic attacks cause Deep Wound.
Coup de Grace - No longer based on tokens. Your lunge range is increased by 50%/60%/70% if the survivor has one, two, or three debuffs on them (Deep Wound counts as a debuff.)
Deathbound - The Oblivious status effect is active regardless of the survivor's distance to the healed survivor.
Deerstalker - Still works the same but with an addition: Survivors that are in a 0.3 meter radius to a tree have their aura revealed to you. You move 15% faster when within a 5 meter radius of a downed survivor.
Dying Light Maximum tokens changed from 11 to 7, with increased slowdown per token, reaching 33% at 7 hooks.
Enduring - Works against all stuns, except DS.
Fire Up - Ramp up per token increased from 4% to 6%. When the final generator is completed, your killer has a bright flame visual effect on their whole body, and you move 5% faster.
Furtive Chase - Removed from the game.
Gearhead - Now procs on Good skill checks instead of Great. Now provides a noise notification and no longer reveals aura.
Hangman's Trick - In addition to current effects, survivors with toolboxes within 8 meters of you while you are carrying a body, are slowed down by 10%.
Hex: Undying - A cleansed hex will be sent to an active Dull Totem instead, while also bringing along any tokens the hex collected. Hex: Undying shows its aura to survivors that are within 4 meters. Every time a Dull Totem is cleansed, this radius increases by two meters. Whenever a Hex is cleansed, this radius increases by six meters. Undying does not work on itself.
Hex: Huntress Lullaby- No longer a hex.
Hex: No One Escapes Death - When the final generator is completed, all Dull Totems on the map light up extremely brightly. The skybox of the map gains an eerie golden Entity glow and massive claws will slowly start to grip around the map from above. The End Game Collapse will last half as long (one minute, thirty seconds), but 45 seconds are added to the timer whenever a totem is cleansed during the Endgame Collapse. NOED will not activate if there are no Dull Totems on the map remaining before the Endgame Collapse. Survivors are no longer Exposed. Killer still moves 4% faster.
Insidious - Being in between a distance of 32 and 8 meters of a survivor will charge up Insidiousness as long as they can't see you. The meter charges up faster the closer you are to the survivor without being on their screen. When at maximum charge, Survivors no longer gain a speed boost when you hit them. This resets Insidiousness to 0%. The Insidiousness meter does not charge while in a chase.
Iron Grasp - The extra time you can hold a survivor is increased from 1.92 seconds to 4 seconds. Additionally, your body naturally pushes aside any blockers.
Iron Maiden - Works as normal, but no longer Exposes. Survivors who enter lockers become Injured and are inflicted with Hemorrhage, but cannot be Downed by Iron Maiden.
Knock out - Works as normal, but downing a survivor also inflicts them with Hemorrhage and stuns them for five seconds. The decreased Field of View lasts for the entire duration of them being down, but the Deafened effect still fades after fifteen seconds.
Lightborn - In addition to current effects, standing in well-lit areas (Completed generators, lamp posts, etc.) charges up Enlightened. When reaching 100%, your Red Stain is twice as long and is replaced by a White Stain. White Stains will slowly damage and burn survivors. It takes three seconds of direct contact with the White Stain to lose a health state. The burn will decay when the Enlightened killer isn't looking at you. One second of burn is lost per second. If 30 seconds have passed, or if a survivor is Injured by the White Stain, the buff is removed and must be re-acquired. It takes 10 seconds of standing under a light to become Enlightened.
Shadowborn - No longer increases your FoV. Instead, FoV is now a slider in the options menu. Shadowborn reworked: Standing in Shaded areas (not just unlit areas) builds up Nyctophilia. When Nyctophilia reaches 100%, your Red Stain turns into a Black Stain. The Black Stain disables windows and pallets but only when you are looking at them. Nyctophilia degenerates at a significantly faster rate while a window or pallet is being held down. It takes 10 seconds to fully charge Nyctophilia. (For context, Nyctophilia at 100% will be drained all the way to zero after just two seconds of looking at a window or pallet. Because it will never actually be at 100% due to natural decay, two seconds of blockage can never actually be reached.)
Mad Grit - In addition to its current effects, after the first successful hit, Madness is triggered. Basic attacks while holding a body have no cooldown even if they successfully land. Madness is lost when the body is dropped or hooked.
Merciless Storm - Requirement reduced from 90% generator progress to 85%. In addition to its current effects, you receive a Loud Noise notification when the generator reaches 85%.
Monstrous Shrine - It is now a Scourge Hook.
Oppression - Minor rework. Upon damaging a generator *by any means,* one additional random generator pops for -8% and begins regressing. Cooldown of 60 seconds. Oppression will not proc on generators that have no progress. Oppression will not proc on the same generator that triggered it.
Overcharge - Reworked. Hex: Overcharge - Whenever a generator is popped, either by a failed skillcheck or effects such as Jolt and Oppression, the generator explodes in a blast of electric lightning, Deafening, Blinding, and Slowing nearby survivors by 10% for 15 seconds.
Overwhelming Presence - In addition to current effects, also has a 25% chance of dropping the item on a failed skillcheck.
Play With Your Food - Tokens are only consumed on Downs. This counts regardless of how a survivor goes Down. (For example, if they are Downed by Deep Wound instead of one of your direct attacks, you still lose a stack.) Lose a stack upon hitting the Obsession. If your attack downs the Obsession, only one token is lost, not two.
Predator - In addition to current effects, walking survivors also leave scratch marks but with far less accuracy. Whenever a survivor is within 8 meters of another survivor, both of those survivors are 25% louder. This stacks.
Shattered Hope - In addition to current effects, destroying a Boon Totem also crushes all other Boon Totems currently active on the map.
Territorial Imperative - When this perk is active, you always spawn in the Basement. Receive a Loud Noise notification whenever someone enters the basement. You move 5% faster when within a 16 meter radius of the Basement.
Trail of Torment - No longer reveals generator aura to Survivors.
Unrelenting - Reworked. You are 25% resilient to stuns (Stacks additively with Enduring. This means that you can reach up to 75% stun resistance.) The slowing effect incurred from a missed attack lasts half as long.
This post is a mixed bag of "wow that would be broken" and "that's really a cool idea."

Nah. Just wasting more of her time for very little payoff. Because if I'm turning on the TV I'm already at the TV, and don't need to teleport to it. And the chances of me needing to teleport back there before it would've just turned on normally is probably pretty low.
She needs her slowdown on manifesting removed. It makes no sense. She doesn't get a speed boost from manifesting normally, then I'd understand her being slowed. Why slow a killer with no chase power??
Her TV's should also build up stacks passively while survivors are within range. Remove their ability to turn off TV's except when removing a tape. To get rid of 3 stacks of condemned you have to remove a tape and go put it the assigned TV like normal. However if that TV is turned off it turns back on when you insert a tape.
This would not only make her power actually do something and create a sense of urgency and game slowdown, it's actually more in line with the lore. Where you had to show others the tape to spread it around and not get killed in 7 days.
I actually really like that.
edit: although, my idea would still be something.

RBTs are fine. The rest of pig's base kit isn't, this is probably why RBTs feel bad. Also RNG
Dreamworld isn't terrible. This is another case of something else making it feel worse, such as bad addons for Freddy.
Yeah, I don't actually think that the box is bad, I was just writing all the responses from the perspective of someone who thought X secondary power was worthless.

Dredge is just her but better. Better teleport, actually has anti loop. Yea sadako as condemned. But you get that like once every 50 matches. I'm sure the owners of sadako are real happy knowing everyone will be playing a free killer and not theirs
The two do actually feel pretty distinctly different, but Condemnation should be changed/buffed to further separate them from each other.

It's very unfortunate that I feel that the dredge is to me a super powerd sadako, very similar abilities, nightfall similar to her dymanifested, and a anti loop ability with the shard it can return to.
I thinck this is proof that sadakos TV do not need any cool down as dredge has a hell of q lot more points It can teleport to and better placed points that can only be delayed not turned off, it really shows how much sadakos ability can suffer when compared to the new killer
The difference is the condemnation meter.
Condemned needs a rework before Sadako's teleport can be touched.
-
@DoritoHead said:
Too early to tell. Freddy and Demo still have their chase powers, Demo has freedom of where to place portals and Freddy pressures gens much better and can mindgame with Dream Projection sometimes.
However, Dredge does curb-stomp Sadako.
I really hope that Sadako gets a Condemnation buff/minor rework so that she's not just "weaker dredge" forever.

[ANNIVERSARY CHAPTER SPOILERS INCOMING, DO NOT READ FARTHER THAN QOL CHANGES IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE CHAPTER SPOILED!]
Hey guys, it's your friendly neighborhood Adam main, and I wasted time watching the anniversary stream instead of finishing my exam studies lol.
Ok so, here's what happened:
Balance Changes:
It was said that roughly 40 perks on both sides will be changed.
Gameplay Improvements and QOL Changes to the Game:
Preset loadouts: You will now be able to preset loadouts and make loadouts and you will no longer have to individually equip perks! This will go for cosmetics too.
Matchmaking Incentives: You will now gain extra bps to play as the most needed role for that server.
The new Role menu, the menu will now be vertical. Check it out in the PTB now!
Prestiging can now go past 3. Prestiging a character will automatically unlock their perk on all characters.
Game flow refactor: While waiting for a match, you will now be able to check cosmetics, check archives, check the store, etc.
Archive update:, you will now be able to have both a Killer and Survivor challenge equipped at the same time. You will also be able to view full Rift Outfits.
Bots: Bots will now be able to be implemented into a custom match.
Streamer/Anonymous Mode: The premise of this is to make players feel safer in game. You will basically be able to you know, just completely remove names from your matches to keep everyone safe.
The beta tabs will be permanent.
Console Optimization: The team plans to implement console Optimization, but they said they need more time.
Mori:
Renamed the finishing Mori, once you down the last Survivor the Mori will immediately start. Moris will be removed. RPD will also be reworked.
New Killer and Survivor+ Power:
New Killer is The Dredge. His power allows him to teleport to lockers.
When teleporting to a locker, he leaves behind a remnant, which can be returned to by pressing the attack button.
New Survivor is Haddie Karr. Y'all know her from the lore lol.
DBD will also have outfits from Attack on Titan. This could mean that we could expect collabs from Bleach, Demon Slayer, Naruto, etc.
New Killer and Survivor Perks:
Dwight's outfit:
He will cosplay as Eren Yeager.
Zarina will cosplay as a character I can't remember.
Oni will cosplay as an Armored Titan.
The new chapter name is Roots of Dread.
The new Map revolves around a city that seems perfect, but the residents are hiding something dark.
Haddies perks are: Overzealous, Residual Manifest, and Inner Focus.
Overzealous: After cleansing any totem, this perk activates.
You gain a 4% generator speed boost, this effect goes away after losing a health state by any means.
Residual Manifest: After blinding the killer, the killer is inflicted with the Blindness status effect for 30 seconds.
Inner Focus: You can see other survivors' scratch marks within 32m of you. If a teammate/survivor loses a health state within 32m of you, you will see the killer's aura for 5? seconds.
The Dredge Perks: The New Killer, the Dredge's perks, are:
Darkness Revealed, Dissolution, and Septic Touch.
Darkness Revealed: When you open a locker, any Survivor(s) within 16m of any locker's auras are revealed for 3 seconds.
Dissolution: 3 seconds after injuring a survivor, Dissolution activates, for 16 seconds. If that survivor vaults a pallet while Dissolution is activated, Nea will break that pallet.
Septic Touch: Whenever a survivor does a healing action in your Terror Radius, that Survivor suffers from Blindness and Exhaustion.
These effects linger for six seconds after a healing action is performed by any means.
New Map: The new Map is the Garden Of Joy.
New Map Offering: the Ichourous Loam
this is all freaking awesome.

other than that I have call of brine for gen regression.
I've gotten her back up to lvl 43 and the bloodweb really has not been kind to me.
also, one game ago, someone kobe'd the instant before they were the last one in the trial. then they DH'd past my m1.
I'm sure it was exilirating for them, but I just felt like I got cheated.
obviously, I'm still having fun and all, but yeesh those medkits and lack of decent perks have been hurting

And don't forget not all SWFs are good. Some are awful, and some are just goofing.

I consider myself to be a baby killer, newbie but can still win some games depending on the circumstances, i watch videos, guides, study the game, perks, and play a bit of survivor as well, but im facing a "problem", im just chilling playing my game, doing my thing, trying to improve, sometimes i find myself on a bad situation of no kills and 3 or 4 gens done, well at that point i know i can't kill everyone, more likely, so i decide to camp the hook or tunnel, again im playing for fun, if i decide i want to take one survivor with me, i will, i read the rules and there is nothing against camping or tunneling, i know some people might find it not a honorable thing to do, well, for me it is, because im a weak killer and its a strategy that sometimes gives me good returns, like people trying to save the others and i end up killing 2 - 3, or even 4.., so stop insulting killers when they do that, i've been getting hundreds of insults after games on the chat, even when i say GG, i dont insult anyone when they loop me forever, or blind me, or drop pallets on me, im having fun, not trying to exchange insults with people every single round i play, i have 75 hours of gameplay, so please be considerate of people playing the game, we are just having FUN, and if you die its not a big deal..
My biggest piece of advice is to play DBD however you want and not care about what other people think.
Just try to play in a way you wouldn't fault someone else for playing.

So after a few matches, I think I can say this is a pretty great build. I ran it with Mikhail's Eye and the Admin Wristband, the eye fitting since you find Terry's torn-out eyes in SOMA, and the admin wristband being fairly similar to the blackboxes every employee on Pathos-II was fitted with.
Claustrophobia and Merciless Storm synergize with Tinkerer, being able to sneak up on a gen allows you to take more advantage of 2 perks that are otherwise fairly hard to get good use of. I'm All Ears works really well for tentacle mindgames at windows. Running it with zombie-related add-ons actually helps the build too, increased speed and detection range can get them to approach gens being worked on or affected by Merciless Storm, and Claustrophobia can also aid zombies if you're able to corner a survivor in some areas. The build really shines on indoor maps, but worked pretty well outside of them too.
That's awesome!
I'll have to try it out too!

I don't think that kind of evil can be captured in just 4 perks and a power. (:P)
Wanna take a swing at it?

It's the Tall-Man from the movie Phantasm
Onryo (TV debuff addons) - teleportation and telekinesis. (Demo's another candidate)
Dragon's Grip - knowledge of alchemy
Mindbreaker - messing with people.
Hysteria - Drawing on the dream control connection to freddy.
Oppression - a bit more mapwide pressure to reference control over minions.

Waltz from Dying Light 2?
I can't find any sort of MO.

Jack the Ripper from assassins creed syndicate, always thought this would be a dope killer or skin for legion or something
Legion - (debuff addons, especially oblivious) - since you insisted, but it also ties into his agility and tracking.
Infectious Fright - making people freak out
Trail of Torment - stealth
Brutal Strength - Super strong.
DMS/Tinkerer - Smart and rich, wouldn't be a stretch to rig up the gens somehow in advance.
