So I can understand the reduction in Ruin's effect to a degree, though I think they went a bit overboard.
However it's that last sentence that kills it for me:
"After a Survivor is killed, Hex: Ruin will automatically deactivate."
That drastically reduces Ruin's effectiveness - to be honest why would anyone take it given that your Hex will be automatically destroyed after killing the first survivor? That's a far heavier nerf than the change in rates.
I wouldn't mind it if it was no longer a hex, but both feels a bit much.

None of my mains will be getting an anniversary mask (Legion and Jonah) and I'm so bummed out. My friends are in a similar boat. I wish they would have made masks for all original killers and survivors, but I suppose it would've been too much to do such detailed and beautiful masks for each one. I'm sure I'll still have fun during the anniversary event with all the decorations and such, but not getting a mask for my mains makes me just slightly less excited for it.
I was hoping for Victor to get one.

I mean, I'll drop a trap at the hook before I walk off, but that's only if I don't have any traps left. I'm not going to recycle an ambush trap into a camping trap.

I wonder what Wesker's power would even be. All I remember is he has tentacles and a gun but I don't think they'll do another tentacle cause nemesis but I don't think they'll do a gun.
I'm hoping his power is direct influence over a large number of zombies.

Also, Myers has limited stalk. (not that that's as much of an issue)

Dark Devotion is getting buffed, so here's to hoping it becomes good with the change.
Hopefully it gets a longer duration and/or doesn't require you to hit the obsession.
-
@Breadn said:
For one, it works on any injure. So many more killers would benefit from it, like Legion or Blight. Two, it can be used far more frequently and works on hitting any survivor.
Why would anyone use Dark Devotion instead of Hysteria?
Well, DD moves your TR, meaning it can be combined with other TR perks (Coulrophobia, Unnerving presence, Overwhelming presence, Infectious fright, and/or Septic touch).
It's good for scare tactics, too, even though it sucks at stealth.
I do think it suffers from (pre-buff) "Mindbreaker syndrome" though, because you really don't have a clue how much it does until you see it as survivor - which is almost never.
so... it's better at memes, and that's it.
Honestly, I think that it should be given a longer cooldown, a longer duration, and should no longer be obsession specific for activation.

A jungle would be a fresh location.
Alien would be my second choice.
Thing, I'd pick as my third, but we don't need another snowy map, and any "thing"-like power would be torn to shreds by comms.

For example:
I feel a deep connection with Elodie because she is Black woman with black features (like me), does not scale on the petite/skinny side of the body type spectrum, and has amazing lore.
I have a MAJOR attachment to Anna (Huntress) for multiple reason. Major reasons being her lore, the fact that she was my first ever Killer I gravitated towards and mained, and the BIGGEST reason (this may be a little off) but I have really overwhelming anxiety in real life that seems to elevate when I play Killer. I’ve discovered that playing Anna while listening to her hum her lullaby and even humming with her while playing can soothe the hell out of how anxious I get on the game when I decide to play Killer. I even find myself humming it in real-life randomly.
I look forward to reading your replies!
I really like Jeff for his lore and personality - and how that's represented through his perks.
I like Dredge for their lore and for the fact they use they/them pronouns.

So when this first started I made a post about trying to keep the event chill for everyone and just try to share good vibes. So much for that.
My killer matches end under 6 minutes without 4 slowdowns, and survivor matches are facing 4 slowdowns on blight and nurse.
There is literally no winning. If I try to let survivors have a chill match they end it before I can even get BP, basically wasting my flans and walking out with no crown. If I don't run the survivor meta I'm tunneled and slugged the entire match. Same story.
I really do not need those perks for more than half of my games. But this event has been ######### insane and highlights the worst of dbd. The amount of times I've been sent to The Game or RPD and get rolled by mid survivors. I can be downing them fast, but that doesn't matter if they're split up, or putting 5 miles of distance between us, or even just playing on a rigged map.
I've tried to stay positive, and I normally don't get this way while playing. But it has been hell. Damned if you do or damned if you don't.
I just had someone hard core tbag at the gates after I let them live.
Like, I played super nicely, I was running a meme build, and I was playing sadako. I have no idea what compelled her to tbag like her life depended on it - especially because if not for some lag, she would've died to nemesis/rancor.
-
I almost always hit them, but I miss them maybe 5-10% of the time.

@Brokenbones said:
He's def my favourite killer to face
His power has a lot of counterplay - be it before he has it or when he's in it
His chase music is a banger
He doesn't completely ignore key elements of the game like pallets and windows, but he can deal with them. Key difference
While a lot of people use him to slug, they can't just do it infinitely because his power is finite. It's not like Nurse/Blight/Twins where they can just keep slugging over and over with the same efficiency
Look, that's Victor's fault, don't bring charlotte into this.

There just wasn't any recreating something like L4D, unfortunately. It was a losing battle from the start.
Have you really never played L4D, though? The second one, I mean. There's no way it doesn't go on sale for like, $5 every other month.
I picked up L4D2 for like $3 maybe last year.

I agree she's op but statistically that statement is false.
she's actually got something like a 52% killrate.

We already had many nerfs that just made killer feel like ######### to play -> Deathslinger, Billy, Twins.
We don't need more of those...
@tenoresax said:
As long as Nurse has the ability to ignore every game mechanic, she will still be the strongest killer, this would just make her more tedious and less fun to play as.
Also making blink hits count as special attacks would just encourage people to run slowdown perks instead.
I hadn't thought of it that way...
I thought it'd just improve her skill floor.

I find myself facing nurses, blights, and occasional face camping bubbas in the mix while having to deal with randoms so versing a pig on her map is a chance to de-stress unless it goes horribly wrong for some reason.
understandable.

Pig gets ROASTED on her own map. The only saving grace are her trap RNG and mediocre stealth.

- Remove Lullaby
- Cooldown after teleporting to a TV = 100s ---> 60s
- Cooldown after TV is turned off by Survivors = 60s ----> 30s
- Condement Status effect now builds up slowly overtime if Survivor gets Condement just once by any means (bit slower rate than holding a video tape)
- When all Generators are powered, All TVs that are turned off by any means will turn on back again in 15 seconds after being turned off.
- TVs spawn in the same room as the Generators (some maps will spawn TVs behind a different wall / room than the Generator).
- Survivors can hear Sadako teleporting to a TV at maximum of 40 m distance from that TV.
These perfectly match some changes I proposed a while back. (I also had some other stuff, but, yeah, I agree with these)

TLDR: I recently started getting into Silent Hill and I'm curious how many of you peeps have played the games.
When the Silent Hill chapter came to DBD in 2020, I initially was somewhat interested but quickly lost that interest and never played them. That remained so, until the song that plays in the intro to the first game popped into my recommended videos recently on Youtube (would include it here but I'm not sure if that'd be allowed). As was excellently put it in the comments of that video:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PX6SAOQ32G13/true-jpg.jpg
Needless to say, I absolutely loved it and so I decided to give the first three games a try. From what I've heard, the game's quality started to dip after 3 so I may play 4 but I'm not sure. Anyhow, I just finished the first game a few days ago and I thought it was amazing, even if certain aspects of it haven't aged amazingly. Gonna start 2 soon and then 3 after that. I'm curious as to how many of you have played the games so:
one day, though.
-
It may objectively be bad, but there's nothing quite like watching an especially cocky survivor drop a pallet, begin tbagging, and go down before they realize how they just played themselves.
-
@pandomran said:
Do you mainly play survivor or killer?
Killer a bit more, usually, but mostly equal.
-
Also, I know that there are a bunch missing, but I can only make 10 poll options.
I'll be sure to have the following on the next one:
Nurse - Crotus
Clown/Blight - Chapel
PH - Midwich
Demo - Hawkins (RIP)
Doc - Lery's
Myers - Haddonfield
Freddy - Badham
Plague/Huntress/Twins(?) - Red Forest
Legion - Ormond
Slinger - Dead Dawg Saloon
After I've covered every realm a few times, I'll combine all the realms and killers.
-
I don't know, I think that people sweat because that's the anniversary mentality. I've only gone against a few non-sweaty lobbies.
I mean, I've been playing a bit nicer than usual, but lots of my survs seem like they don't care.
edit: I've been getting t-bagged at the gate recently (obviously the cheeky sense) so much so that I've put on blood warden.

There's a lot of people sitting on inventory of cakes, including myself. There is no point in hoarding these items as we only further contribute to the grind in the game.
I believe that anniversary cakes/flans should expire at the end of the year or close to the next anniversary event so to not go unused.
If you really want to keep it in your inventory, it will still stay but should be put under "Offering No Longer Available"/"This Offering Has Been Retired"
what, why?

Does anyone even find this perk useful enough to use it? I find that Windows of Opportunity is much more useful for a survivor (since they are the ones leading a chase), than Zanshin Tactics is for a killer.
My suggestion would be let a killer see a dull/boon totem aura within the range, too. Killers normally see auras of hex totems, but being able to see boon/dull totems with this perk would give it more meaning. Locating a boon totem can be hard sometimes, especially on a double story map (not to mention RPD with its Library). Hearing a survivor cleansing a totem, looking around and seeing the aura of the totem would let you know immediately where to go.
In my opinion, not a strong buff, but enough of a buff to make this perk somewhat useful.
I mean, sure.

Ok so i will make it short, i have around 40 hours player give or take, like around 30 as killer, i got many many 4Ks before with most killers, i tried almost all killers to see what playstyle fits me best, i have more success with Nemesis, the huntress or the doctor, my main problem now is that i'm not fast enough downing survivors and while im chasing one, the others are working like crazy on gens and by the time i get my first hook i usually already lost 1-2 gens, and if the survivor is really good i might take forever and not be able to kill him at all, i beleive i won too many killers games now i have a "high mmr" ?im getting a lot of organized super toxic SWF where i don't stand a chance at all, but every time i play im learning from my mistakes and im learning what they do and how they behave, how do i control the territory or what would be the best strat to slow down the gens? perks ? i know about most meta perks, i've been watching streamers and guides about chasing, looping etc, but still i feel underpower against very strong SWF, i know nemesis is classified as a "B" class killer ? but im nowhere good to run a nurse or blight, any tips for me ? or any streamers for me to watch ? only one i watch mostly is otzdarva but the gameplay is too fast paced and he knows all maps and stuff so its more a showcase than a teaching guide ?

appreciate any help
- Unrelenting isn't a great perk, so I'd swap that for any other gen perk you've got.
- Try to get in character, it'll help you take the game less seriously and have more fun with it.
- if you see 4 identically named players with the same cosmetics, don't sweat dodging that lobby.
- Play however you want, but don't be a hypocrite.
- "Toxic" gets thrown around too much. if someone's hurling slurs, report them. if they're just being cheeky, don't let them tilt you - that's exactly what they want.
- play in a lobby with a friend who's better than you.
- If you've hit bloodlust 1 without having previously gotten a hit or a pallet out of them, leave. go find a weaker player.
- you don't always need to use your power. Nemi's great at zoning, but if you whip wildly, you're just buying them time that a quick knuckle sandwich wouldn't.
- Don't feel like you have to 4k. it feels great, but it's not even the official win condition.
- Play survivor once in a while. you'll learn how survivors think in chase.
- don't be afraid to commit to crazy plans. Big brain ambushes and outplays feel great. - just don't overcommit to the plan.
- Don't let yourself be reliant on perks. strong perks can make you feel strong and skilled, but they'll only carry you so far.
- Watch Otz.
- Always be courteous and respectful in the endgame chat. be the bigger person.

You should probably play a selfish build. Meta is good in SWF or high MMR but won’t help you climb the MMR. Try :
- Deliverance. If your team starts to get decent, you can problably go Unbreakable over this.
- DS : in case you get tunneled out your own deliverance, or in end game to get a free escape in case your team don’t come to save you
- Iron will : to escape chases when you can mind game between staying at the loop and hold W
- Dead hard : because it’s broken.
Hatch won’t increase your MMR but at least you won’t lose any.
Play selfish, use as many pallets as you need. Don’t take unecessary risks for others. Always prioritize your life over someone else.
Yeah, I know I should play more selfishly. I just really like playing altruistically.
