Distortion and Rancor

Distortion is suppose to make it where your aura is not shown to the killer however it does not work against Rancor. The killer is able to see your aura still. Is this intentional? And why just 4 uses? Constantly adding aura reading abilities and add ons for killers (literally just for checking a locker).

Comments

  • Rancor isn't aura reading. It's more like a noise notification akin to infectious fight where your current location is shown when the perk procs.

  • Rancor just shows a snapshot of where you are at the moment a gen is done. It doesn't continue following you around for those 5 seconds like a traditional aura does, nor is it even considered an aura, therefore distortion doesn't block it.

Also I'd say 4 uses is pretty balanced. It's not meant to be an infinite resource.

  • 4 uses is plenty, because it gives you info as to what aura reading capabilities the killer has, so that you can avoid those things later in the match.

  • You're describing one of the most powerful parts of Rancor! There are very few info perks that "reveal the location of the survivor" as opposed to "reveal the aura of the survivor" - and the two key differences this makes are that Rancor will reveal survivors who are in lockers, as well as circumvent things like blindness and distortion.

    Happy hunting!

  • Fair enough. I have never used Rancor before I don’t use anything that reveals locations as a killer it makes games short, to me. But I disagree distortion is only to let you know what perks they might have. Played so many killers with all aura perks and add ons that might as well be playing on an open football field. Doesn’t need to be infinite but considering all aura reading abilities are it should do more. But most killers will disagree, hence why they use the perks. Thanks for the information though.

  • Rancor isn't an aura reading perk.

It shows a "notification" like spies from the shadows and hoarder.
