The perspective of the question is an interesting one to me. As a Survivor main/occasional Killer, I do try to be as fair as possible. Survivors often go to bat for Survivor buffs, and Killers often go to bat for Killer buffs. But what about an honest insight into the other role?

So Survivors, which Killers (if any) do you honestly think need a buff? Do you have any ideas on what those buffs would be?

Michael. There is no reason why he has been in game for like 5 years and the only reason he's even a threat is because 2 addon combos that dont even help much if you actively deny him his power.

  • @Minaaa said:

Are there any plans to buff survivors?

The 100% blood points for survivors is literally always active so it is pretty clear no survivor wants to play anymore.

I used to play quite a bit but now am down to once every 2 weeks, the infamous patch pretty much ruined the game for me.

Whenever I do play now will lose 90% of my games because tunnelling is rampant, although eventually, the game will feel bad for me and pit me against a totally new killer so i can have one boring win.

So am asking the original question because I want to know if I should bother logging in once every 2 weeks or just give up on DBD completely if there are no plans to reach a semblance of balance.

By buff do you mean tweaks to communication for survivor in solo queue or buffs to survivor base kit? Cause that can get messy real fast

No, every Playstation player runs Self Care, even at high MMR

It's a bad perk that wastes everyone's time

Not the urban evasion PC players talking.

What Achievement was very difficult for you to get or are you still struggling to get or have resigned yourself to never be able to get?

For me, the nurse Achievement to blink and grab I've resigned myself to not getting. I play on console and that just seems too difficult.

Adept Pinhead and Adept Plauge for different reasons. Adept Pinhead cause I went to Garden of Joy. It was not in fact joyful. Especially since I dont main him. Adept Plauge because her interactions net so little points that I basically have to let people do resets assuming someone doesn't DC and screws me out of 3 hooks.

i would with ash and ghostface

For survivor, probably Jane and Kate. Those two definitely seem like they need to take an edge off on occasion.

Killer, probably the Legion. They seem fun to hang with.

Debatable, since he can captalize of some different playstyles. I just consider him as a pure M1 killer, don't really think of Michael as a stealth killer that much but it can be done.

That is kinda why I asked the question tbh. I always hear Michael considered to be stealth based but playing as him and against him makes me feel otherwise.

  • For Survivor, Object of Obsession and Reactive Healing.

Free wallhacks since I'm usually the Obsession without any obsession based perks and Reactive Healing saves healing time but I do have to force it a bit.

Killer, Surveillance on Spirit. I will always have gen information and it allows me to make more informed decisions.

  • @hiken said:

the easier for last? Lol, plague is argubly the most dificult killer to get the adept. yopu literally need to not use your power at all and play m1 basically.

She has another problem that made getting her adept hell to deal with. Her power interactions puking on stuff and corrupt hits dont even net much points towards devious. Literally 25 points just to puke on a gen

  • I mean, I'm gonna get the chapter but I'm probably gonna leave the survivor at prestige 1 just cause I have a p100 goal rn. This chapter is nothing more than a distraction

  • @HectorBrando said:

Myers and Oni are not that similar, they only share the one-hit-down mechanic at gameplay level they are very different.

Oni has to injure someone to get his power while Myers doesnt, Oni cant 99% his power and pop it against the best looper to down him without having to endure a very long chase (technically he can but its not feasible or reliable), Myers cant speedrun the map and EW2 with M&A gives Myers a 8 meters TR which A LOT of people underestimate how deceptively strong it can be if you use it well, sure some other Killers have addons which give undetectable but they are not permanent and have activation conditions.

A 8 meter TR means a Killer is less than 2 seconds away of hitting you and it can be used to enter a loop from the most convinient place for example from the side of the pallet forcing the Survivors to run towards a zone with no pallets, Myers players who manage to approach gens without being noticed by using the high walls to block sight can get a ton of free first hits, thats not possible with a 32 TR Killer even if you use M&A, the stealth Myers tag comes from this, if you play him well Survivors wont be aware until its too late.

You have a point in terms of MA that can help out with stealth but that kinda presents 2 problems. 1, the perk itself is causing the stealth and not him either his base kit abilities. 2, unless you force it most maps are very open so even a reduced terror radius doesn't work well if you can see the dude across the map.

  • @Okonar_ said:

He can be. If his tier 2 is 99ned and he is using Monitor and Abuse he can sneak up to survivors and get an instadown quite easily (unless in an open field scenario, obviously). The stealth grabs in Tier 1 tho don't work very often, people usually react in time or you get validated by the server.

Yeah but do perks really count to make him stealth based? I feel like it's more the perk creating the stealth rather than him.

  • @Dionysus42 said:

Inspired by Pixel Bush's recent statement and the response it got, but informed by a now long history of debate on this issue. People say that the new survivor is clearly tailored to be drooled over to the point of ignoring his actual history and origin in favor of modern fashions and so on, that Haddie's relative failure means BHVR is now entirely focused on making survivors that people want to have relations with, and that it has gone beyond the isolated environment of the spinoff to now infect the main game, destroying what little semblance of horror aesthetic is left. Also, characters like Claudette get outfits that don't at all fit their reserved personalities.

What do YOU think? Do you still want more daddy Ghostface, David, and revealing Kate skins? Or has it all gone all too far? Post your favorite Feng bikini cosmetic ideas as well.

Compared to other games that are horror/non horror based, this game is incredibly tame. Its actually comes down to people and how weird they make things

  • @Regulus47 said:

He has something like an 8 meter heartbeat radius in tier 2 so he's basically undetectable for most of the game. If he gets within 8m and you only get a warning then odds are you're gonna get hit anyway cause you don't have time to run. Worse still if he's got instadown ready from stalking a useless teammate and you get downed without anything you could have realistically done to avoid it.

That is true but sometimes, it feels odd to call him stealth based only because he can't completely reduce his tr to 0 at will without 2 specific addons. He does have little warning but still has some warning but I can't really say that as a rebuttal when the other stealth killers make noises you can track

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

    Thoughts?

Trickster is well an odd case. Map dependent for his knives but tbh, a lot of loops are short for him to hit you. Other times, he's somehow worse than Pig in chases.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

...you are on the Hook and you see other team member(s) just walking around the map or hidding somewhere, not doing anything at all. I offten times play Kindred so everyone else can see what other Survivors are doing or if the Killer is near by. I had teammates that will just keep hidding or just walk around the map while you are on the hook and other Survivor is being chased and they don't even try to rescue you or something. Sometimes I ask myself "Why even bother playing Kindred when no one acts on the extra info they get".

Well if I reach second stage, I mostly likely will kill myself on hook. No shade at the killer, but I'd rather end the match knowing i will not be rescued and will end up with like less than 10k points

There seems to be a misconception that Doctor is this awful killer and one of the worst in the game to go againts or play.

To me he's close to what a perfectly balanced killer should look like.

I love going againts Doctors and play as him.

He has one of the most balanced kit in the game, great tracking, great gen pressure, great anti-loop,great addons, not too opressive in any category.

His chase is not the best but also not the worst,he has a little bit of everything, even jumpscares that are fun.

To me he's one of the most balanced middle of the pack killer that can be really very versatille and can run any build on him and do good on any map.

Indoor map?Not a problem.Big map?Not a problem. He has the tools to find survivors and pressure gens just as good on any map.

He's the definition of what a middle of the pack balanced killer should look like.

The screaming and madness is nowhere near as annoying as people make it to be and to me it makes the games more fun and interesting.

Also he can look like an absolute Chad with the right cosmetics,I love this one and is my favorite cosmetic in the game.

I don't know why I'm doing this, but I thought it'd be fun to develop some game-breaking perk ideas. Try not to make it too obvious, such as, "if you hit a survivor, they die instantly."

Something more like this: Gain the ability to trade a single hook stage.

To further elaborate: If survivor A is on death hook and Survivor B hasn't been hooked, B can give up a hook stage and now both are on 2nd hook.

Have 4 people with this, and it will be impossible to actually kill someone. What are some of yours?

Festering Desire- Gain a 5% haste boost at the start of a chase. Scoring a hit retains the speed boost for the rest of the chase (bloodlust tier 4 is possible). If you don't get the hit within 30 seconds of the chase, the perk goes on cool down for 20 seconds.

Prolonged Venture - Activate the perk when you heal by pressing the active ability 2 button. If you stop healing while the perk is active, your healing progress is transfered into endurance. A successful endurance hit adds 30/40/50 percent to healing progression that can't be overridden

Slowly over time I've gotten to really hate the meat plant and most recently Midwich.

I'm actually at a point now where if I get any of these 2 maps I'm just going to camp the first hook until they decide to sort these maps out.

A person can literally run the killer for 5 gens on meat plant without even coming close to going down because of the insane amount of pallets.

Midwich why even bother trying to get to the hook when half the time you just have to drop the survivor. 1 person with breakdown could effectively render quarter of the map off limits to the killer.

I really used to hate RPD, but since the reworked version is definitely not as bad. I still don't particularly enjoy it, but it's playable unlike the other 2 I mentioned.

Garden of Hell is literally the most painful experience these days. That map is a quick way for me to sweat

...matchmaking will still struggle to work effectively.

Saturday evening peak times, are, the, worst.

I'm not a top tier killer, I'd imagine my MMR is high-medium, but not low-high, if that makes sense. Mostly because I generally don't kill everyone, I give hatch, I even occasionally let 2-3 survivors escape if I've had a good game where I've 2-hooked everyone and maxed out a few BP categories. This makes for nice chill games where everyone has fun.

    Except right now.

    1. The killer has the incentive bonus +100%, which indicates that there aren't enough killers playing right now.
    2. It's still taking me the full 3 minute lock out to find a lobby, which indicates that although killers in general are in short supply, there are no survivors in my MMR bracket to match with.

If I simply have no survivors at my MMR to match with, what is the system supposed to do with it? It clearly has a good idea of what my match should be, because it's waiting the full 3 minutes telling me that they don't exist, and my games are usually fairly well matched.

Instead, I'm waiting 3 minutes, and getting lobbies like:

P42 Dwelf: BangMeMyers (not on PS)

P61 Masked Meg: BreedMeMyers (not on PS)

P99 Neon Nea: Toxic_TTV (not on PS)

P0 Blendette: ХАКЕРГАЙ (not on PS)

    And getting quite predictably wrecked.

Hey, that Dwight name is peak

what am i supposed to do against friendly survivors?? it's so frustrating to get in a match just to have survivors crouch spam and try to be friendly when you just want to play a normal game, if i kill them i get called toxic and if i team with them i'm bored out of my damn MIND. what am i supposed to do???

It honestly depends on my mood. Usually I'll let 2 go at most if I have 10 hooks total and I'm basically gonna wrap up the game anyway. If I don't feel merciful, I continue the hunt. There's a benefit to maining a vengeful ghost as a killer

Now there's quite sometime since his release, lots of his bugs got fixed, new techs have appeared (re-bound, insta flicks, and the flick tech), people understand his power and his add-ons better, what's his tier? Is he among the top 7 best killers? Tell me what u think.

Insta flick tech: https://youtu.be/UGS4cuykBXI (minute 1:14) when performing a dash ur turn rate is reduced, if u wait the untill the end u can flick instantly with no restrictions.

    Re-bound tech: https://youtu.be/6_iP_fE7HPw

Flick: just so u can throw survivors where u want a bit better (most people already know what's is it)

In my opinion, A tier. Probably in the top 5 killers. He has a little bit of everything like a Swiss army knife. He has passive slowdown, a chase ability, map traversal, and information via the sprays. Also, he's kinda hot so that's a bonus.

as a killer main, and as someone in low mmr, i notice a lot of people being really upset about certain killers, or killer perks, or survivors, or survivor perks, but i honestly can't help but see how much fun this game can be?

like, especially if you're just running builds you like, playing to the best of your abilities, even if they're a lil toxic sometimes it's okay to take a break!

but i think that it's honestly cool how some survivors can loop me for five gens getting perfect pallet stuns, and how a lot of the time survivors will make incredibly altruistic plays despite them not necessarily being safe in those scenarios!

i also just can't help but love the dbd community, because in endgame chats a lot of the time people will be really nice as long as you just show basic kindness back!

reject toxicity, be happy, and remember kids, zanshin tactics is good if you want to learn maps as a new killer :P

I think you're not that far off. Content creators, especially famous ones, will influence a lot of players to adopt their opinions, without really even trying to. Often times, promoting pretty unhealthy mindsets (see : win at all costs, yet call any counter from the other side disgusting).

A lot of people look up to them, and will repeat those opinions whether they apply to their own experience or not. Plenty of times my friend has told me things that he obviously heard from high skill streamers, and when I ask him "But has [X] affected you personally ? Is this your experience of the game ?" he'll be like "Well, no, but it's most people's experience". Is it ? Or is it the experience of higher skill players, which are not by any means 'most people' ?

Same with content creators creating extremely strong builds on either side, then coyly ending their video with "Please don't use this build.. :)"

I think people show a lot of deference to famous content creators, and adopt most of their opinions as "they've played the game forever, surely they know better!", in that same time extrapolating that opinion from its source (a specific mmr bracket that the content creator was experiencing) to the game in general.

I noticed this for a while but I started to really tune into it cause midterm elections are happening hear and the way people were talking during that time reminds me so much of the dbd community and it felt odd

It's that simple. This game is exhausting to play anymore. Almost every single match is unbalanced and toxic. Killers are buffed into infinity and survivors nerfed into the ground. The match making allows toxic swfs to bully the killer and killers to bully solo que/duoing survivors. The gameplay is repetitive. You have to hide your prestige/avoid your mains due to lobby shopping and tunneling. Nothing has been done to stop the camping or hitting on hook and tunneling is still easily done. The toxicity is rampant on both sides. Behavior wanted to shake things up and "Change the meta". They sure did. Welcome to the most miserable era of dbd. Don't be surprised when you realize your player base has evaporated. You can't expect people to want to play on what is clearly the losing side and not get tired of it.

End game chats... do that to people

That and the game being a salt mine... Entitlement on both sides... not understanding what a side does (or the perks involved)

One side thinks one way and the other side disagrees and think another way...

It's turned into a vicious cycle (and it stems from other vicious cycles...)

From camping and Tunneling... to perks.... to Maps... to items and offerings

If I were to make a statement, I'd say that the validation thing is simply a symptom of this thing that the community does that has a direct correlation to life. Herd mentality followed by us v them ideology that makes it to where playing the game is a crime against humanity

  • @Veinslay said:

ye its basicly herd mentallity. When i first got blamed for tunneling in this game my first thought was "oh its against the rules? Guess im an outfit then, it made me win the game so its fine to me." Just to learn that actually most killers think like me, and i even think, all though a big population the players that actually do care about the rulebook are still the minority. Lets face it, most players do in fact play both sides. It would be like paying full price for the game but only play 50% of it if they didnt. Its again that big, silent majority that just does their thing.

i could be one of those too, but im too concerned about pushing back the idea that you have to follow the "rules". Because there is always people that seek validation as you stated. And at least they deserve the opportuinity to hear both views and decide for themselves.

Honestly, I respect this stance. I guess my line of reasoning falls along the lines of seeing people basically walk on egg shells the second they boot up the game.

I came back to the forums after literal months and I dont understand this new wave of "Does playing the game make me a terrible person?"

  • @Seraphor said:

Kinda hard to reply to this topic without affirming your position... but I generally don't camp or tunnel, I find it boring and do actually like to make the game enjoyable for the other players I encounter. But that doesn't mean I'm looking for validation, because I often support the exact opposite, the validity of 'unfun' tactics such as camping and tunnelling where necessary, and the right of the killer to play as s/he feels and to ignore the opinions of others, mainly because there is no consensus, and all players want the same thing, to win. I've been called a troll and a killer main™ many times for this.

I feel like i worded this wrong and should clarify. Why do people play the game the way they want to camp/tunnel, genrush and then go create posts where they need to be reaffirmed that playing the game isn't a horrible thing. My stance is play the game the way you want and not go to others for reassurance that touching a gen for 5 seconds is allowed or using a killer power doesn't make you scum of the earth

  • @RaSavage42 said:

They are talking about their experiences in the game... nothing more nothing less

Plus if people talked about their experiences without saying "I don't run meta perks/ playstyles" then it would be assumed they do/ did

But it seems that people think that it only happens to them

You're not wrong but I just dont see why people need to justify playing the game they want. It's weird to me that playing the game people want is so taboo

  • @Terion said:

Because somewhere some popular streamers came up with a stupid rulebook, maybe it even started as a meme but now there is actually LOADS of people taking it serious, all though the devs NEVER once said it has to be that way. That is some weird case of "community ethics" that some practice while other people (like me) dont care about them at all. Only thing i do blame is cheating and i think the majority can agree on that.

New players will get responses from others in the EGC or in DMs, about how they are "bad sports" or something. Because of this, people get confused and come here to the forums to ask if this ACTUALLY is a thing, just to see the great divideness again from people that follow the rulebook and people that dont care at all. Beside it being only a game but i guess its easyer to blame your loss at some imaginary rules than on your own skill and mistakes.

Just because something doesnt feel fair it doesnt mean the other player is not allowed to do it, its a pvp game after all.

You're onto something about the streamers. People latch hard onto their ideas and do this thing where they shame others for playing the game or create an echo chamber by trying to seek validation.

But you have a point. People do this so much to the point where its taboo to just live life

  • @Shininglight said:

Why is it only nurse/spirt/blight are the only good ones to play and the rest of the killers are bad are decent let's take wesker for instance his power is really great but you loop him are run wall to wall he can't use his power his powers good not the best but good how ever you make him a pointless killer when the looping happens forces you to stop chasing that survior....why you ask here's why he can't use his power vs looping that's how most killers are u loop therr power becomes useless...

Part of the reason is due to maps why is there survivor maps to there favor.....well there shouldn't be

    Surviors

Should always be at a DISADVANTAGE always no excuses they have perks for a reason

Let's take a more balance hooro game evil dead...games not fun for me but it's definitely more balanced

One surviors on that game can fight and lvl up but so can the killer

The max lvl for a survivor is 25 which means 25 points to put into your perks

The max lvl for a killer is 45 means 45 points to put into your killer right there tells you killerhas more of an edge due to points

Now the game is about finding survoirs fast to stalk them and get lvls asap the goal for a survior early game is to not make noise while looting and doing many objectives before killer finds you if you shoot are get into a car the killer will know we're your team is most matchs for me this is not the case because most surviors knows not to make noise even in solo que

Yes I play both sides cause it's fun while if the sirviors do rush the pages to get to end game faster the killer still has a chance of winning by destroying the book

My point is the killer has the advantage in the match but the surviors still can win

This game naw loop and pallets loop and pallets I don't know what the devs are thinking but for years now nothing has changed in this game the looping and pallets is dumb

So here's my suggestion sense the matchs go quick if your going to allow looping the guns has to be 10 longer this forces smart killers not to chase and gen protect which shouldnt be the case if how ever you want to keep the gens the same you got to get rid of looping make it to were surviors has to drop a pallet early and move on to the next one not run around 3 full times to drop a pallet plus 17 pallets on the map should say there shouldn't be looping thats to many pallets with enough time for gens to get done with out looping

Also make the maps less walls mybe less windows so m1 killers have a chance to play the game

And I'm bot saying this cause I am not liking how this game is I'm saying this because this game favors survivors not killers

Earth to you surviors this is a horror game the killer should always have the advantage not the surviors the only reason most of you play surviors is to troll the killer cause you know you can and you know the maps so well that looping is just to easy for you

As much as I wanted to see evil dead grow which I don't think it Is at this point I'm hopeing other horror games come out to beat dbd because this is just bull crap how surviors can just do what they want and nothing happens

Sorry about my spelling and typing all im not very good at it

So if I were to cut the bs from every you just said, I'm left with this conclusion. I'm not that good at killer, so I fabricated an entire lie of saying only 3 killers are viable just to hammer in the point that I want easy games and I want the game to be balanced in a way that basically garauntees me free wins but instead of saying just that, I made up an arbitrary system to add filler

  • I think the problem is hex perks ATP are just, well powercrept. The meta has shifted so far that unless you're forcing a build to work on newer people, it's not going to get value.
