I genuinely could not care less if the forum disappears.

I specifically need the first one—is it not sold anymore, or what? I have the comic with the exact image featured on the first charm, but the code inside is for the charm shown in the second picture.
Like i stated in my previous comment, the single issues themselves are not available anymore. Only the completed version (I.E. the graphic novel) is.
I obtained the first charm from buying the first out of the 4 single issues of the Legion comic, back when it was released.
So no, the single issue of the Legion comic that had the code to the first charm you're looking for, cannot be officially bought anymore. The same goes for the Hillbilly comic and the single issues for that one, and how once the full version of it exist, the single issues for it becomes unavailable.
Your only hope is to try find a seller who has the code to the first charm.

While i'm surprised with the forum's closure after all the years i've been on here, i had already mostly stopped frequenting the site for the most part not that long ago, so i'm kinda whatever about it as a whole. I certainly can't say that i'm gonna miss this place nor a good chunk of the people on here, especially when it comes to a specific few certain users on here that i despise.
At least with the site closing, it'll save me the trouble of having to manually contact a mod to close my account.

Good riddance.
I have zero love for that outdated and archaic system.

For a game like Halloween, the shape jump ability makes sense to have due to the game's other mechanics involved, however to me, it thematically cheapens out Myers' character immensely.
The ability however, have no place in DBD and never will, on account of the fact that the game is balanced entirely different from Halloween: The Game, with entirely different mechanics and gameplay loop. There's a reason why any Killer with the ability to become invisible to Survivors, have to do an interaction or an animation first, before being able to attack again. While Killers who can go undetectable, does not need do that and can attack again immediately.
Also i frankly find Myers ability to switch back and forth between stealth at will like he does now, to be much more thematically fitting for the whole ''disappear without a trace'' aspect of his, than shape jump.

Not unless you can find someone selling it with the code still intact. From what i've observed, they stop selling each respective single issue, once they've release the complete version of the comics. Which being the graphic novels that has its own unique charm from the single issues.
-
One is obtained by buying the single issue that is unavailable now, the other is obtained from buying the graphic novel. The latter being the full combined 4 issue complete version of the comic.

As Smoe mentioned, this is something BHVR does. You can see a list of 'partner' games on their website. There's everything from Mortal Kombat, to Civilization 7, to Farcry 5 - a whole bunch of different styles of game.
Does it increase the chance of licensing? No idea.

It's just a work for hire job bhvr did, something they almost exclusively did back in the day, and still does every now and then these days.To my understanding it's not just an every now and then thing, but still a pretty huge part of their business model. Though they don't release public info that frequently so I might have missed something.
Going off of wikipedia specifically, there's not nearly as much work for hire jobs that they've done after DBD was released, compared to before.
It still is their safety net in case their own games don't do well, however they're not nearly as reliant on it compared to before.
-

Same way that games like Until Dawn, The Quarry and The Casting of Frank Stone are all work for hire jobs done by Supermassive games.

Not everything needs to be lore accurate in a multiplayer game. League of Legends has a 10/10 lore but if the game followed it the game would suck.
Agree to disagree.

There's alot of problems with that idea from a lore standpoint.

@HOMOGRIMOIRE said:
@Alen_Starkly it does say in the base lore that Jonah knew he was deciphering the anti-democracy rebel messages, and that his work enabled them to target their bases. So, Jonah only knew he was providing information that would help combat the rebels. What exactly was done with that info was not up to him. He had no way of knowing that the encoded location was civilian, nor that the higher-ups were playing both sides to profit off the war and potentially get sacrifices for the entity since they were black vale. At this point in the story, he doesn't even suspect corruption in the government and couldn't even fathom them secretly intending to bomb civilians. So yeah, Jonah was the messenger, and he felt SUPER guilty about it, but ppl still wanna blame him and act like it was his intent to bomb innocent civilians.
But, to be fair, DbD has always been pretty hands it when it comes to lore. They've never told ppl how to interpret it, and I doubt they'd start with Jonah. Not to mention that US Imperialism in, presumably, the middle east/west asia, is a more explicit point in Jonah's lore and has become a very sensitive topic to talk about given the current political climate. I applaud DbD for tackling it, but since then, how its viewed has shifted and evolved, and i doubt they want to expand upon it now, especially given how tight censorship surrounding it has become. Like, they would NOT have been able to release Jonah with his current lore today without backlash. It basically states that there's a religious cult controlling the US government that has no regard for US citizens and is getting them to bomb ppl in west asia. So, i can see why they dont want to touch his lore. If they were brave, they would, but they're not, clearly and unfortunately.
And ironically enough, there was a leak from Dvveet that gave us an a internal position on Jonah, but, i doubt bhvr would appreciate me explicitly posting about the content of an internal leak on here, so, rip, lol. But, the way i see it, people are allowed to come to their own conclusions, even if particularly invalid. But also, it just stems from a lack of good reading comprehension. No amount of explaining will change people's minds cause they can't read. Not to mention said people just want something to hate and dog on. They don't hate Jonah because of his lore, they hate him cause he's something easy to hate. It's annoying, but, i can say I've tried, and theres no convincing those people. They're just straight up dumb.
Any how, i get his lore and like it a lot and love Jonah, so I'm happy while the haters aren't, and that's a win for me 🥰
DbD has always been pretty hands it when it comes to lore. They've never told ppl how to interpret it
People being meant to look for their own answers within the lore has always been an intentional thing on bhvr's part, however every now and then, they do return to older lores to expand them and give them context clarity.
Twelve to Midnight. The Crows. in Tome 12 does exactly that with the lore Jonah and Artist, and how involve The Black Vale were in both lores.

the goal here is to make springtrap's kit actually usable at its fullest whithout crippling springtrap himself since he already has the necessary counterplay the changes in game
Springtrap being hindered upon camera reveal is a straight up nerf he doesn't need. And making Survivors go inside the security room is clearly nothing more than a change made purely for the sake of novelty.
It all reads more like an excuse to try and make the security camera mechanic act more like how it functions in FNAF, solely just for the sake of that and that alone, rather than giving Springtrap actual needed changes that would benefit him as a whole.
@LeDemon said:

Yeah well guess what, i too have played Springtrap since day 1 on his PTB.
Also bragging about your prestige level on Springtrap when it is in no way any indication of anything other than how many bloodpoints that you've pumped into them from just playing the game in any way as a whole, means absolutely nothing in terms of your skill level nor makes your ideas here more credible by default.

Apart from the missing bell sound it used to have, i otherwise don't really mind the change to the UI all that much.

Completely unnecessary changes and the wrong way to go about giving Survivors more of a reason to interact with the security cameras.

I'd rather they made Fragrant Tuft of Hair add-on basekit and made Slaughtering Strike the effect for the Fragrant Tuft of Hair add-on instead.
Old Myers was hard carried by his old tombstone add-on, he could not revert back to tier 1, he had to waste so much time stalking Survivors and if he ran out of stalk juice on all Survivors, he was straight up without any power.
Doing a full revert of Myers' rework is not a solution nor a good idea in of itself. At least now he has much better add-on variety than compared to before, not to mention that he is now able to switch back and forth between tier 1 & 2 at will.

My guess, if the graphics update goes well, and the coding gets reworked properly, and the licenses keep coming in and expanding while in the game, along with a better tutorial/onboarding setup, than i'd guess another 15-20 years. And the reason for it lasting that long isnt just because of no competitor, but the time and money spent on progression, and constant new content to refresh the experience.
I played world of warcraft since it started, and the more it seemed to add, the more dull the game seemed to feel. To a point where id play for a while and then stop until the next expansion since they take very long to come out. The dullness, came from the game getting easier and less challenging to the point where you did'nt even need others to play the game with unless you wanted to go into dungeons (which you also didnt need the gear from anymore because it was much easier to fight stuff on your own compared to when the game first started ).
Dbd however gets more challenging the larger it gets, for both sides, which for me prevents it from getting dull. The game only feels quite dry when the only new content coming in is something you aren't interested in and have to wait months to even hear whats next, innwhich case cosmetics usualy give you something to look forword to in between. So theres a lot to keep people glued to the game.
DBD got so much more than 15-20 years left. You're forgetting that we're getting official modding support alongside the code and graphical overhauls.
That alone will straight up guarantee that DBD will last forever.

Regarding your point about bringing them in, perhaps it would make a deal as it did with pyramidhead or vecna? And then we both know that once whatever is in the realm, deal or not, the entity has full control now.
Honestly the addition of cthulu only being a memory would make much more sense than the entity taking them or any of the other ones similar to cthulus power. The entity hasnt shown itself to be that powerful, and it would be unfortunate for fans of lovecraft to see magnificent entities lose to a rather new creation in recent years.
Hell, even as a memory i think itll work perfectly, itll be scary nonetheless
The thing about The Entity, is that it is incomprehensible by nature. Every answer about it always brings more questions, and whatever someone states about it, is all entirely within that character's own POV and subjective understanding of it only. We will never fully & truly know it fully and with certainty, and that's entirely intentional.
For all we know, it could potentially be getting stronger as time goes on. As it continues to bring in more characters and corrupt & consume more terras & universes across the omniverse. Although we don't know if that is the case or not. (However it can potentially become the case in the near future with Chorus of Sin, depending on what The Judgment's lore states.)
Also, because bhvr have intentionally avoided bringing in characters that are too similar to The Entity itself as Killers. It's why the Mind Flayer from Stranger Things only appeared in that chapter's lobby menu, or why The Dark Presence from Alan Wake 1 specifically isn't in the game. (Although according to bhvr, that after having played Alan Wake 2, there were some characters in that game, who could make for potential future Killer candidates. With that game's version of Mr. Scratch presumably being one of those potential characters.)

The Evil Dead game managed to get licensed characters from ALL of the franchises. It can be done.
I don't see why BHVR couldn't negotiate a deal with the AoD license holder.
Because bhvr have stated more than once before that they don't mix licenses owned by different companies or people together, regardless if it's licenses for the same franchise or not. It makes things way more complicated legally and muddles the waters way more, having a single contract that multiple seperate and different entities are a part of, compared to just having a licensed contract with only a single entity.
While they could technically bring in Army of Darkness as a crossover, it would still be as its own seperate thing and wouldn't connect to the Ash vs Evil Dead chapter in any way, nor would it give the Ash we have already any cosmetics from Army of Darkness, unless they brought in the version of Ash from Army of Darkness as his own seperate Survivor.
Also there's a very big difference between bringing in an IP as an addition to an existing game that's unrelated to said IP, and making an entire game around that IP as its foundation.

What if there was a Lovecraftian map? Where an entity like cthulu is just lurking in the distance, beyond the border of the map. I honestly think that would be really cool (if the entity is strong enough to contain cthulu of course)
Any and all content based on Lovecraft's work is a welcoming addition. Personally, i'd go for a full chapter in of itself.
Containing the pantheon from the lovecraft mythos inside the fog is not an issue for The Entity, as canonically speaking, it is both omnipresent & omnipotent without exception inside its own domain. It doesn't matter who or what is inside its domain or how powerful they normally are, because being inside its domain in the first place, means it has already won by default. It's moreso outside the fog that The Entity while still powerful, is not as strong as within its domain. And the actual question would how The Entity would go about bringing them in, if it's even strong enough or not to forcefully do so.
Of course, if someone like Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep or any of the other elder or outer gods from the lovecraftian pantheon were to appear in some map based on lovecraft's work, i think chances are that the reasoning behind their appearance, would instead be that they would just be another case of The Entity taking the memories people have of something and recreating it in the fog. Such as people's memories of the lovecraftian gods or locations tied to them.

I vastly prefer terminator 1 but the t1000 has a lot more stuff to base a power on compared to the t800 who doesn't really have any unique abilities
I can think of multiple different power ideas one could give the T-800.
- The Infrared Optics/Termo-vision of the T-800 that we see in Terminator 1, which can be used for information gathering of objects and other stuff around the map, as well as for tracking the Survivors accurately.
- The fact that its an infiltration unit, means you can do something stealth related with it. Such as having the T-800 start with its human disguise with no terror radius. Then as the trial progresses, the more it gets stunned, the more it gets damaged. Which causes it to lose more and more of its skin & tissue of its human disguise, causing its terror radius to increase everytime. Until in the end, only the endoskeleton of the T-800 remains. Just like through in the Terminator 1 film.
- An ability that mixes The Judgment's Hopeless Exile area, the void area of the Haunted by Daylight event and Nightfall meter from Dredge. A mechanic that once the progress bar around the Survivors are full, everyone including the T-800 gets temporarily teleported to the future battlefield of Los Angeles in the year 2029. Where no generators can be repaired and the area is filled with map hazards and other bad things that can damage Survivors. The Survivors must then escape the place by either finding and entering a time displacement machine to return back to the trial, regardless of which health state they're in, or get hooked by the T-800 in the area itself, where they will then automatically send them back to the trial.
- A mode that the T-800 can activate by fulfilling certain requirements, which would function similarly to Singularity's overclock mode, but not entirely.
- Allowing the T-800 to be able to request assistance from Skynet, by having it send other Terminators to the trial as support units. Where the T-800 can give them different commands to aid it, and if Survivors gets too close to the support units, they will start chasing after the Survivors. However in return, Survivors can destroy the support units by stunning them or have the support units automatically disappears by waiting long enough.
T-1000 may have a more clear cut power, but if it ain't the T-800, then i don't want it.
-
I'd rather have the T-800 as a Killer instead, with the chapter being entirely focused on Terminator 1 only.
-
Jason Universe only have the rights to Part 1 & 8, the rest is owned by Warner Bros.
With that said, fat chance we'll ever see any legacy designs as skins, since JU is entirely focused on rebooting the F13 franchise and doesn't want to use anything from the existing movies in video games.
-
@Mikeadatrix said:
100%, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Evil Dead franchise for the first time ever, ALL under one banner? And since BHVR gave Ash a proper P100 badge and not the RE treatment, I think new Ash content is a matter of when and not if (hopefully).
Everything except Army of Darkness is from now on represented by StudioCanal in terms of licensing the franchise going forward. It's also something that happened after bhvr's existing license was made and without a full on re-negotiation, we won't get anything from the other installments.
-
Thank god it can be disabled. I know for a fact that i'm not gonna use this system whatsoever. And even if it couldn't be disabled, i would still just ignore the feature's existence altogether.
-
I mean, we're getting a zombie infection game mode down the line in the future, after the code & graphical overhaul has been completed.
-
Its purpose was to give lore about the black banquet itself and lore related to it, the latter being what the Tryks' items in the archive were about.
-
Doesn't bother me.
Also you're not forced to listen to Oni screaming or Henry's tentacles. You can always just queue up as a character, and then let the queue run in the background while doing other things. Like selecting other character or going into other menus accessable from the lobby.

First of all, bold of you to assume I’m not a skilled player, but that doesn’t matter cause you’re missing the point of the post. It’s impossible to go for gate during 1v1 end game bc Jason can see aura’s when you do an action. This was my main reasoning for making this post. If he just had a cooldown he couldn’t camp both the doors forever & wait on someone to touch gate. Sure toggle crouching could work at the gate but unless there’s grass you’re not gonna know he’s around. Yes most killers can get from one gate to another quickly, but there is a way to avoid being caught in most cases.
Except Jason is not everywhere at once during OE, and even if OE had a cooldown, he would still spam the ability and camp both doors and spot you all the same regardless, as he can still see the red lights from the exit gate panel in the distance.
Also yes, i do assume you're suffering from skill issues, because if you didn't, you wouldn't be making this post in the first place. This is not an S tier killer you're playing against. The game is not being held hostage by Jason in OE, and you wouldn't be in a 1v1 with him in the first place, if you and your team were actually better than the Jasons you play against.

Interesting so you’re saying crouch the whole game and not do objectives out of fear of being found? Most Jason’s will wait the crouching out.
I'm saying that for the 1v1 end game collapse scenarios, it is the best counterplay against Jason's OE ability.
For the whole game however, most skilled Survivors don't bother hiding from Jason, because they don't have an issue looping him and dodging his spear throw.
-
@Nazzzak said:
I did a google search and apparently the code will come with the Jason youtooz figure
False information that originated from reddit. There's no confirmation that the Bloody Jason Youtooz figure comes with any in-game content.
-
It's not OP unless you're suffering from skill issues. Plus OE already have a counterplay, which is to crouch while it's active.
-
We don't know what Judgment is yet, however there's no confirmation that it's an angel, only that it's of divine origin. Plus Judgment refers to themself as a god.
The lore isn't forgotten, it's just not released yet. However lore hasn't been vague since years ago.
Judgment refers to Survivors as heretics, not sinners.
You can't say the voicelines don't have meaning, when you don't even know who The Judgment is as a character or what their lore is.
-

honestly I think at this point they should give all old and new survivors voice lines
Which bhvr stated during the anniversary stream, was one of their long term goals of theirs, to retroactively give older characters voicelines of their own.
-
@tjt85 said:
I dunno about that. BHVR are so weirdly inconsistent with this. Robin gets in game and lobby voice lines. Rain gets voice lines but only in the lobby. And Hinako gets no voice lines at all.
All of them are Legendary skins. I guess it must be down to the terms and restrictions of the license they agreed. I think if BHVR could've made it happen, all these characters would have in game voice lines.
The legendary skins that have voicelines, also have a default counterpart character that also have voicelines.
Nancy, Steve and Jonathan all got their own voicelines because of the ST sequel chapter. If that chapter hadn't happen, i don't think Robin or Eddie would have gotten voicelines then.
-
I can already tell you right now, chase music absolute will not get any optional slider if they ever update the option menu.
-
I honestly expected Himiko to not have any voicelines, simply because the voiceline pattern is pretty clear.
Legendary skins don't get voicelines, unless it's for an original character or for a licensed character who have voicelines to begin with. It's why you have characters like Naughty Bear & Geralt of Rivia with voicelines, and why the Stranger Things Survivors got their own voicelines after the second chapter came out, despite not originally having any.
Unless bhvr updates the Silent Hill chapter with a sequel chapter, i doubt the Silent Hill characters will get their own voicelines.

Every post dbd asym failed hard. Dbd was also really close to failing hard, but Myers saved it. And then everyone else came. Being able to play Nemesjs from RE or Kruger from elm street is ultimately why this game succeeded and why none other will succeed(because most other games are either tied to IPs therefore limited or originals that die too fast because there is no incentive to play)
I wouldn't say Myers ''saved'' DBD per say, as the game was still doing well enough player-wise, over 10K in fact. Myers moreso propelled DBD's popularity.
Also since April 2017 was when DBD's playerbase was at it's lowest.

Asymmetric is not a genre, is the problem.
DBD is horror-themed freeze tag with easy to understand mechanics but an enormous amount of depth. There's nothing else like that except for Identity V, which is not competing with DBD due to being a mobile game.
People say this or that game will give DBD competition. Are they horror-themed freeze tag? No? Then they're not competition.
Palworld also isn't competition for Pokemon btw. Palworld is competition for ARK. The reason Nintendo is going after them is because Palworld copied their art style and then Sony bought Palworld. When Palworld was just some indie game, Pokemon didn't care, but now that Palworld is part of Sony, Nintendo is worried about Sony cutting into their merchandise sales by merchandising the Pals. The games are way too different to be competition as games.
There's nothing else like that except for Identity V, which is not competing with DBD due to being a mobile game.
And even then, when you look past their similarities and the elements IDV borrowed from DBD, IDV & DBD plays and feels entirely different from one another.
