Its time for a graphics & audio settings overhaul

DBD has yet to catch up with modern games, allowing their players to set the value of individual graphic settings instead of the current restrictive presets. whether the GameConfig graphic settings are automated by UE or not, they deserve to be adjustable individually in the settings graphic menu, in the video section, as a subcategory after "RENDERING.". the graphic presets should still be an option for all settings, but if a value is manually changed, the preset should instantly change to "Custom."

so it would look something like this:

this way, you don't have to browse dbd's local files just to set the Anti-Aliasing quality from 4 to 0. i also highly doubt many people know that the values can be changed to 4 which is Cinematic, a grade higher than Ultra, because it isn't actually in the ingame graphics settings.

okay so the graphic part is out of the way, now i wanna move onto the audio settings. so far we only have two sliders, which is the master and main menu volume. obviously, not enough options because you still need to be able to hear specific audio queues that you most definitely can't hear if you've lowered your master volume as a result of lets say, survivor hook screams or survivor screams in general.

im talking audio sliders consisting of: survivor screams (could split between normal & hooked screams), voice lines, killer noises in the lobby (targeted towards kaneki), trial background music, chase music, etc.

this should be accessible to everyone, as the players who change the values individually in the game config file has to keep the file as "Read Only" for it to work 100% of the time.

  • Hopefully there is more options in the new version

  • I can already tell you right now, chase music absolute will not get any optional slider if they ever update the option menu.

yeah that’s what i was thinking, but idk im sure the chase music can be pretty loud for some people, but id much rather have everything else i said instead

  • In terms of survivor screams, I wish there was a togglable option in the setting to turn on the longer survivor screams. Hinako's screams are noticeably cut short, for example.
