DBD Animated Series Idea.

BHVR should genuinely consider making an animated DBD series focused on the actual lore, not just short cinematics.

It could follow a new detective/investigator from the real world who is investigating a bunch of disappearances connected to the Fog. They slowly discover that something supernatural is happening and eventually get pulled into the Fog themselves.

Before they enter the Fog, the show could actually show the backstories of different Killers and how they ended up there, while keeping the investigator as the main POV.

For example, the investigator could travel to Greenville because of all the disappearances there and secretly witness Jason encountering The Unknown. They don't know who either of them are or what they're looking at—they just watch these two completely insane beings fight from hiding.

Over time, the investigator connects the disappearances, the Fog, the Killers, Survivors, Trials and eventually the Entity.

It would be a perfect way to combine all the separate DBD lore into one huge story while actually SHOWING what happened instead of relying mostly on short lore cinematics.

And IMO it should be animated rather than live action. DBD's Realms, Fog, Entity and supernatural characters would work insanely well with animation.

I'd genuinely watch the ######### out of this.
