Since BHVR has developed a new Serious Sam game

Will there be a chance for Serious Sam content in DBD? (If there was it would have most likely been a launch promotion thing)

It was a suprise to see BHVR's name on it. And it makes me wonder what happened to Croteam. Is the Serious Sam license now owned by BHVR?

    It's just a work for hire job bhvr did, something they almost exclusively did back in the day, and still does every now and then these days.

    Same way that games like Until Dawn, The Quarry and The Casting of Frank Stone are all work for hire jobs done by Supermassive games.

    As Smoe mentioned, this is something BHVR does. You can see a list of 'partner' games on their website. There's everything from Mortal Kombat, to Civilization 7, to Farcry 5 - a whole bunch of different styles of game.

    Does it increase the chance of licensing? No idea.

    To my understanding it's not just an every now and then thing, but still a pretty huge part of their business model. Though they don't release public info that frequently so I might have missed something.

    Going off of wikipedia specifically, there's not nearly as much work for hire jobs that they've done after DBD was released, compared to before.

    It still is their safety net in case their own games don't do well, however they're not nearly as reliant on it compared to before.

    My only issue with the wikipedia list is that there are games on BHVR's site that don't appear anywhere on wiki, so I'm not sure how each list got put together. A lot of more recent games that BHVR says they were part of our missing from wikipedia. Maybe there's just a difference in terminology.
