  • @OrionsFury4789 You tested MOM with Nurse? What about Spirit? I would imagine that when they use their power it would count as a basic attack because they use their power THEN attack with their basic attack. Like you even have to press the attack button to do it.

  • I'm honestly shocked it's just a survivor. Evil Dead has so many great characters that could have been killers.

I love how you think NOED is a problem and when told multiple perks/counters you continue to ignore them cuz critical thinking is pretty hard when the gameplay you're used to is autopilot.

Chainsaw is silent, but you can't hear the loud ass heartbeat or use your camera to see the bright yellow ball waddling towards you?

    This forum ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I said NOED is lame. That doesn't mean I think it's a problem. It's just lame and mostly because of the speed boost. I cleanse totems BTW, I don't have a problem doing that. I was giving my suggestion for how to make it less lame, by removing the speed boost.

Also are you seriously defending a bug? Like really? LOL. Sometimes you run around a corner and don't have LOS on the killer and because it's silent you don't know if he dropped it or let it rip. Sometimes that info matters.

You are so biased. God forbid we turn what is the most debated killer perk into something mildly less lame.

You probably complain that LF one-shots you in an open field too huh?

Love how I offer a valid alternative to the current NOED and people jump on me and make all these assumptions. My only problem with LF right now is that his chainsaw is bugged and doesn't make noise. But that's a bug so.

Except NOED is a problem for the same reason Decisive was a problem. Forget counter play, let's talk about the nature of each perk.

Decisive strike rewarded Surviviors who failed at their job of keeping the killer looped/escaping when found with an effectively free escape, it was a "you messed up and now you get rewarded for it" perk.

NOED rewards killers who fail at their job of stopping the generators from getting done with a free haste and instakill. It's a "you messed up and now you get rewarded for it" perk.

And don't feed me that "just cleanse totems" line of crap. You know as well as I do that if it was that simple, NOED would be useless. But it isn't. NOED is even unique from other hex perks in that, unless literally every totem is broken, the killer gets to have it. Unlike perks like devour hope, third seal, ruin, haunted ground, thrill of the hunt, or huntresses lullaby, you cannot see that there is a NOED totem. You gamble every time you leave as much as 1 totem dull.

Cleansing dull totems should not be a concern that Surviviors should be having. Forget the counterplay aspect to it, because if we wanna get technical about it, old DS did have counterplay. There were ways you could prevent it/force them to miss It. But the complaint was that the counterplay wasted too much time for the killer.

Funny, when time is wasted for Surviviors, killer mains are ok with it and willing to let Surviviors suffer for actually doing their primarily objectives, but how dare killer mains struggle at all, right? Next thing you know, one Survivior is gonna spawn in the dying state bc the killer mains complained that the game was too frustrating

IMO the lame part of NOED isn't even the one shot, it's the speed boost. It outright breaks 115 killers and just makes it that much easier to catch people.

I've said this before, but NOED should require 3/2/1 totems to activate. That helps newbies, since they don't have to destroy ALL the totems only 3 if it's tier 1, but keeps it mainly as is for tier 3. And no it wouldn't be like HG where it lights multiple totems, there would just need to be that many totems left on the map and it picks one. And they don't have all need to be dull, just 1 needs to be dull to apply the Hex. So if you run a Hex build with like Ruin, TOTH, HG, and NOED, and they leave a dull totem and HG then NOED will still proc. IMO that's fair and balanced for all parties.

  • TBH the shrine is a waste of shards unless you just got the game and something like BBQ or DS show up. Better to save them to get new characters, sometimes cosmetics. Otherwise just level up the character and get all their teachables.

who said im talking about BP ? I only mentioned the 3000 altruism in case someone wonders if I did any altruistic action or not .

I maxed objective and Boldness didn't get down once in the match, escaped through the gate โ€ฆ I safety pipped . like seriously ?

Boldness and objective are the BP categories. If you mean emblems, it would be Lightbringer and Evader. Your OP makes it sound like you are talking about BP.

Also if you got iridescent Lightbringer, Evader, and Unbroken, that just means you need bronze Benevolence to pip which is given to you by default. Something is not adding up here.

Not really. Only two good 110 killers are Hag and Huntress. Spirit to some extent, but she really needs specific add-ons and gets bugged every other patch.

But... Spirit is better than Hag or Huntress. You don't need add-ons either, whereas Hag/Huntress kinda do.

  • BP =/= emblems. I don't get why people still use BP as a measurement of a pip. There is some crossover, but it's not how emblems work.

That said, yes new pip conditions are stupid at purple/red ranks. Mostly for survivors but killers can also get screwed over.

  • Wouldn't LF be a discount Plague since Plague DLC costs more than LF DLC??

No it doesn't work once. If you aren't going to make it to a pallet or window then you wouldn't make it for Lithe or a drop for BL, either. I run DH all the time and make pallets and windows I never would have if I didn't have it. If you are close enough it doesn't matter if the killer swings or not. At a certain distance they will be almost guaranteed to at least attempt a swing and DH could make the difference.

And then the next time you are running to a pallet injured, the killer waits and swings through the pallet and you get hit because pallets aren't safe and the I-frames don't work through the drop animation. Works ONCE. If it works more than once killer made a misplay.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

DH imo. The only downside to this perk though is how buggy and inconsistent it is. And the people saying the killer can counter it by waiting it out aren't using it correctly. You can't run out into an open field and expect DH to save you from getting smacked, you have to use it to avoid hits in critical situations such as gaining that tiny little distance towards to a pallet or window. It's the best exhaustion perk when it works imo.

BL can be extremely situational because if you get shelter woods for example, it's pretty much useless you can pull off the hop off the tree in the middle properly.

Killer can still wait for you to use it and hit you. It's not just when someone uses it in an open field, if they use it to get to a window or pallet you can still hit them during the drop/vault animation if you wait. Not to mention that you can't really be sure that you can use it at that exact time because if the killer catches up you are basically forced to use it right then.

    @brokedownpalace said:

There are some things said around here that are nonsensical and yet so many people keep saying them. The idea that Dead Hard only "works once" is false.

If the killer is chasing you in an open field and you use DH, is he likely to fall for that again? Not really. But that's the worst use of the perk. All the killer gets is a missed attack cooldown of like 3 seconds, then he's on you again immediately in an open field. Only use DH like that in emergencies.

The best use of DH is to make it those extra few feet to a pallet, window or exit gate or over a trap. Whether or not the killer knows you have it doesn't matter if you are close enough to make it to that pallet but only if you use DH at the right time.

I've also been opening the exit, just about to finish, when a Nurse teleported over to me. I dodged her lunge, she went into fatigue, I opened the exit and then ran out. She tried to attack and I hit DH through the gate. I've made it to the exit more times than I can count with DH against killers.

It's also good against Nurse because of her attack miss fatigue and Huntress because if she's throwing at you from far away then that could mean you make it into a building or around a wall and now she's gotta come find you, extending the chase significantly.

Again the killer can just wait for you to use it. Yes you can get away if you are in the position to use it in those moments, but if the killer catches up to you when you're not close enough to a pallet/window what are you gonna do? Even if it's at a pallet killer waits and swings through the pallet and still hits you because the I-frames don't protect you during the drop animation. It works ONCE unless you are in the perfect situation where the killer can't play around it, which is generally not in your control.

Balanced Landing opens NEW LOOPS. That is why you use it. Even when you are exhausted those loops are available to you. And there is only 1 map you don't want with BL and that's Shelter Woods. Every other map has places where it can be used very effectively. It turns Game from a killer sided map into a survivor sided map because you now have NEW LOOPS you can use on the killer. And these loops are the strongest in the game, if you do them right killer may never catch you. Plus the fact they don't require a window or pallet, they are semi-infinites. DH doesn't give you anything like that.

@TheLastGreatStar Learn to use the stairs ;)

  • @FeelsVeryBadMan BT is definitely not a crutch, it's the only way to counter camping sometimes. Otherwise all you do is give the killer more kills. The old BT I would say was a crutch. But the current version is just fine. Same with DS. New DS is by far not a crutch, it's there to counter a lame killer tactic of tunneling (and it doesn't even do a good job at that).

  • @Saint_Ukraine Congrats, you are spared!

    @BillyIII just ouch ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

  • Make sure your NAT is open. If it's not it will be harder for you to find games.

  • STOP TRYING TO PUKE ON SURVIVORS AT LOOPS.

Really just do a quick spray to get them sick and hit them normally. It's like Billy or LF chainsaw, if you rev the saw at a loop you most likely won't get them so just go through the loop and hit them normally. You should only be trying to get them into Broken when they are in bad positions where you can unload the whole puke. OR do little pukes hear and there just to increase the sickness bits at a time. Effectiveness add-ons FTW.

  • The only "crutchy" perks in this game are NOED and Self Care IMO. Old DS was a crutch perk too, but new DS isn't. Ruin is borderline, at high ranks it's not because it's pretty damn necessary, but at low ranks where survivors can't do skill checks or find totems it just turns the game into EZ mode. If you're below green ranks and use Ruin it's a crutch.

That said I don't look at "crutch" perks the same way most people do. It's a matter of context. If someone can play well WITHOUT these perks then they aren't crutch. But if you can't even put up a fight unless you use these perks then its a crutch.

  • @tt_ivi_99 said:

Balance Landing can "activate" some pretty strong infinites, Dead Hard can save your ass if you use it properly.

I would go for DH tbh, those infinites are not really needed if you are good at winning chases

Your goal isn't to really win the chase though, it's to stall the killer. You win through attrition because they just spend so much time chasing you up and down they usually give up. And if you are good at winning the chase, you can make the killer spend a lot of time on you and just end it almost at any time.

Also DH isn't for winning chases either. It's to extend them to the next pallet or window, or to recover from a mistake. Problem is if a killer is good they will just bait the DH and get you anyway.

  • When someone uses DS, the game picks a survivor to start as the obsession. Using DS increases your chances but it can still be another survivor. After you use DS the obsession status swaps to you.

Survivor is still a pain to pip with. Your team has to be somewhat competent, but not too good and the killer needs to be good to. Anyone throws the game and you're likely not pipping. @VoodooTheKiller

Yes this is my main point. It's completely ridiculous to expect a survivor to do EVERYTHING when there are 3 others trying to get points also.

And for the record, I'm not complaining about killer pips because I feel like I should be rank 1 and I'm not. I'm rank 2, and I will definitely get to rank 1 after I play a bit more. My issues is that I am being ROBBED in games where I should clearly have pipped usually for circumstances beyond my control. I've safety pipped in way too many games that should have been a pip. THAT is my problem. I play extremely well and still don't get a pip. If I play poorly or get outplayed I'm fine with a safety pip or depip. But when I play well and have a pip taken from me, literally pixels away from the next tier emblem, THAT is when it gets frustrating.

  • Correct. Nothing changes Freddy's or Huntress's lullaby.

  • Yea I would say double the BP for puking on objects and taking a fountain. 75/300 might be too much though.

  • Yea I have still spawned right next to totems, the only difference now is that I have to walk around some object to start doing it.

Here this is the last I'm giving your NPC self. 3 killers besides the legions, since legions showcase doesnt matter, for whatever apparent reason, the survivors did better thank 10k( all of them) and i pipped in everyone 2 of the games i had a dcer. obviously. If you have to mention their ranks, that's on you. Anyways, peace out. good luck with your fogged mentality of how things should work. the huntress game they had 1 gen left, the freddy they had 2 gens left, and spirit they had 2 gens left.

Nice 3 more games against obvious potatoes. Doesn't prove anything except that these survivors can't do gens. Show me some games against GOOD survivors that actually did gens when the game started. If they screw around for the first 5 minutes before doing a gen, that's not exactly because of anything you did, it's 100% a failure on their part.

Again pip conditions are luck and opportunity based. You were lucky they didn't do gens at a speed which is normal for high ranks. If they did you wouldn't get higher than silver. That means that you need 2 iri's and a gold. If one DC's and you didn't get enough hooks, that's automatically silver. You are now locked out of a pip no matter what else happens in the game.

1 DC, 1 killed himself on first hook, 1 died on two hooks, and the other died on 3. I got ruthless killer. According to your logic, I should have been robbed and lost a pip.

They are also 2 green and 2 purple ranks that clearly didn't even do gens. If they did gens then DC'd you would have lost your pip. Also those are the SAME PICTURES AS BEFORE. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Again, get a group of real top ranked survivors. When they do 2-3 gens in your first chase, and then one DC's before you can get the hook, come back and tell me how easy it was to pip. You won't, because it's impossible. You are locked to silver Devout, which means you NEED gold Gatekeeper to pip. If you get silver (which you will because they did 3 gens very quickly) then you were just robbed of a pip. What you get in Chaser/Malicious is irrelevant as this point, nothing you do will give you a pip now.

  • No it creates the same problem... rank based on opportunity and luck rather than skill. If you get a game where someone DC's that would still depip everyone else in the lobby, unless they farm.

I respect True's views on the game, but he is not meant to be a game designer.

  • @VoodooTheKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/386751#Comment_386751

You still want me to crawl back to you with pictures of the games?

Doesn't prove anything. The picture you posted is actually proof that I am RIGHT. Someone DC's you lost 2 points. If survivors were good and actually did gens at a rate that is NORMAL for high rank survivors, you would be lucky to get silver Gatekeeper because it's impossible to protect all 7 gens long enough to get the points. That's 2 silver emblems, which at red ranks means you can no longer pip. The fact you have Iri Gatekeeper means that the survivors played poorly, it's not an indication of you playing well, because GOOD survivors will do gens, usually at least 2, during your first chase.

Show me an entire game, where you have ACTUAL high skilled survivors that do gens AND one of them DC's, where you also pip. It would be impossible, because 2 of your emblems are already automatically set to silver. You lost any and all opportunity to pip.

Why you want to defend a clearly broken system, where you can be locked out of a pip for things beyond your control, honestly baffles me. If you get games where survivors literally never do gens, then sure I guess it's not a problem. But play some games where survivors actually get gens done and I promise you will change your tune. At least on the previous system you could still pip in those situations. But now, if you can only get silver in 2 categories IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PIP. That is ridiculous.

    @DarkWo1f997 said:

Why not just increase the bp cap for each category, revert it, and simply raise the number of bloodpoints required for a pip?

BP is not a good measure of ranking either because of how easy it is to farm. Not to mention, if you run perks like TOTH or Distressing, or play Doc/Legion you can artificially boost your BP earnings.

The emblem system is mostly fine (Gatekeeper and Devout need tweaks, Lightbringer should include dull totems, Evader should reward a bit more for chases and stealth). It is the pip requirements per rank color that is the problem here. Because there are situations where it becomes literally IMPOSSIBLE to pip, and those situations are generally beyond your control. It's not skill based, it's opportunity and luck based. Case and point, if you are lucky enough to get bad survivors that don't do gens, you can easily pip. If you are unlucky to get actual skilled survivors that do gens, then it becomes increasingly less likely you will pip, to a point where it just becomes impossible.

@thesuicidefox Only because you never seen or heard about DC bans, which is actually quite weird, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. And i can ensure it happens, but only in waves.

I'm sure it does, but it seems to be exceedingly rare. Just sayin.

  • So like, I sympathize that you have a condition that makes it harder to play a video game, but in the context of DBD there is only so much the developer can do. If they implement some sort of colorblind option they have to make sure it can't be abused by a normal color vision person to see better. A major part of the game is hiding, so they need to be very careful how they approach these issues.

As far as bans for DC I personally have never seen or heard of someone getting banned for it. Supposedly you can but the DC rate is supposed to be really high for it to kick in.

  • BL is better since it opens up new loops but requires more skill since you need to have good map awareness and an understanding of how tiles spawn. You also are sometimes limited on some maps where you can use it which makes it more difficult.

DH is easier to use but WAY easier to counter. A good killer will wait for you to DH and it will be useless after the first time. And DH is not a chase end more of a chase extender, where BL (and Lithe/SB) are chase enders.

  • Yes.

Pipping at red/purples ranks for survivor or killer is really lame at the moment. You need 13 points to pip at red ranks.

  • @Carpemortum If they have a better solution then no point. Also they probably won't listen anyway if they have something else planned. Better to just wait.

  • Puke on objects and take pools. You get 25 BP Deviousness for infecting stuff (which you can do en masse with stuff like lockers/pallets in a single puke) and you get 100 BP Deviousness for taking a fountain. I often walk out of games with >20k easily because during my down time I puke on everything. And puking on gens is an effective strategy to slow down the game or track survivors so you should be doing it anyway.

  • As someone that put a lot of time into Plague I will say no to this. However, it would be nice if one of her pink add-ons did something with the fountains. Maybe reduce the range where survivors can see the auras or just increase the cleansing time.

  • IMO the 2.6 MM was very screwed up and unfair to some players. I'm a red rank killer yet I get brown ranks survivors in my game. Like obviously I'm going to crush them.

If there was a way, as killer or survivor, to at least know you're playing way out of your rank I would go easy on them. Not go crazy with my optimization as killer and not gen rush as survivor. However that could so easily be abused by players to bully people, so IDK what the solution would be.

Actually I do know what the solution would be. But I'm waiting for them to reveal their new plans for MM before I make a post about it.

  • Still plenty of them on Xbox. However aside from myself, I haven't seen any that are that successful with her. Most only seem to barely get a kill. I've played against a few and gave them some pointers after the game. Biggest mistake = overreliance on puke to inflict Broken. More often it's better to puke on them and either let them go to find a fountain (only if you find another target though) or just hit them with your normal attack. Puke is more useful on gens as a deterrent and semi-Surveillance. Also, effectiveness add-ons are by far the best right now, followed by apples and object infection time.

  • Every time I puke on my totem, it goes down 50 seconds later (35 for infection, 15 for the totem). She can defend it better than most, and you get a pseudo-TOTH if someone touches it while infected but it's definitely still very obvious where the totem is.

  • People saying Trapper have never played him at high ranks. You have to be VERY smart with your trap placement, both in positioning and timing, to actually catch people. Good survivors are not going to step into an obvious trap unless they are in a position where they have absolutely no choice. If you put your trap in an obvious spot, or put it down when a survivor is watching (wrong time) then it will just get disarmed. At this point you better be damn good in a chase otherwise you will just get run over. Against low ranks Trapper is a god because you can almost put a trap anywhere and catch someone. But against high ranks, you need to literally predict the future.

  • I would like to know this also. Probably won't be using DD either way though. My guess is that it only works on heartbeat in DW and not the lullaby, since nothing affects lullaby.

  • Spirit

    Plague

    ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

  • I find it's actually better to just hit them like normal at most loops. Only want to go for puking>Broken if it's in a spot where you can definitely get them. It's like Billy, where you don't want to try and chainsaw at loops you just go for the normal hit. Only when they mess up you try to puke on them. Of course you should always try to hit them with puke just a little bit to get them sick, but most of the time I have just been hitting them like any other killer.

Also most of the top tier killers are slow killers. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Huntress.

  • @Kurisataru ??? It has 7 syllables.

    Also your's doesn't go 5-7-5. Guess you die ๐Ÿ˜‹

  • Stake Out is still a C tier perk though.

  • It should have stayed at 6% per stack like it was on PTB, but it should only affect gens and not healing. They said it was changed from PTB because they want to do something else with healing, but they ended up just nerfing Thana. Killers need more stuff to slow gens, we don't need it for heals. IMO should have just left it as is until they come up with the solution.

  • No Mither, Borrowed Time, Deliverance, Kindred.

Basically if you see someone getting camped just YOLO save them. It sounds crazy but hear me out. As long as you can do the unhook, even if the killer was a LF and they chainsaw you both, while you go down the other guy gets BT. Killer is now FORCED to take your hook since you can self revive. If they don't, well you just get up and keep playing. But they probably will take your hook, and if they do the BT guy gets away. Now you are on a hook, with Kindred active. Wait until the right time and use Deliverance (because that YOLO save is a guaranteed safe rescue unless the guy was complete potato).

Of course this requires your team to have some heads up what you are planning so maybe message them ahead of time "do not ever come to save me". You have NM so you can't be slugged, and you have Deliverance so you can rescue yourself from the hook.

It's risky, yes, but I've used this tactic against many campers and it works very well. You just have to make sure you don't get caught first is all, and you need to be willing to accept that you will mostly likely, almost definitely die. But if you do it right everyone else escapes. GG killer.

  • @HURRI_KAIN said:

Pipping needed to be harder, I get that, but it's impossible to pip now without having multiple good chases, something that stealth player like myself isn't grand at. With the upgraded engine, I've had better connection and less lag. Even so, with a few good chases under the current system, I still usually only safety pip, since I can't get the objectives while I'm in chase. There's enough gens/heals/chases in a typical game for 2 people to pip well, yet there are 4 survivors. YAY I got a pip,..... few games of safety pipping later, killer DCs, @#$%@#$^!!

Exactly. Pipping should be more difficult as you rank up, but not as a zero sum game where there aren't enough points to go around.

  • I've said this a million times before...

When Chucky goes to kick a gen/pallet or grab/pick-up a survivor the shadow of the REAL Charles Lee Ray appears around the doll and mimics his actions. This solves literally all of the height issues Chucky would have. Of course, this would require them to go with the lore of the original films and not the upcoming remake (which suggests Chucky is a rogue AI and not a serial killer who puts his soul into a doll via voodoo magic), but you can STILL solve the problem by having The Entity's shadowy form replace that of Charles Lee Ray (which I imagine to be a shadow person version of Nurse with Hag's hands and Wraith's Hallowed Blight head).

Creative solutions are required to solve complex problems.
