  • "(i) Excessive camping/tunneling kills the mood. Many of the deserters mentioned camping and/or tunneling as a huge turnoff. Or to be specific: being camped/tunneled in consecutive games killed the mood of the survivor(s) being subjected to it. The general notion of all the deserters is that the game can turn sour really quickly. It doesn't help that the weakest of the team often becomes the target."

    Why am I not surprised?

    @FeelsVeryBadMan

Streamers are not the be-all and end-all for opininions/facts. Also, this is not a 1v1 game... Any killer should be able to end a chase within a reasonable amount of time. With Nurse, I can understand the call for nerfs but not Spirit.

Spirit is powerful, yes, but not overly so. Good survivors have a chance at escaping if she is good too. My advice would be to remain aware of when you are making sound and leaving scratch marks. Also, spine chill is an incredible perk and is beneficial againsts any killer other than tier one Myers. If you are never able to escape a good(or bad) Spirit then perhaps you should watch videos on how to counter her.

In short, learn how to better play against a good Spirit. All that needs to be changed with her is prayer beads.

When did I say that streamers are the one and only? @Kabu

Spirit is very powerful and deserving of nerfs. Multiple people have already said that she's just not fun to play against and you can't do anything when in chase with her. Rarely has it ever worked for me to try and lose her. Good Spirits are simply like Nurses, your skill doesn't matter in that match. Are you really gonna tell me that "guessing" what the Killer is gonna do involves skill, especially when the Killer has almost no penalty for an unsuccessful attempt? Oh, please.

    Why learn?

If we cry for nerfs enough it happens eventually.

@Swiftblade131 So I guess the times when Killers did exactly the same don't count now, huh? Should I start listing stuff that Killers didn't want to learn how to counter and instead decided to flood the forums with their outcries?

  • Nurse - Ignores everything the Survivors have and gives absolutely 0 ######### about your skill and how much experience you have. If you are a good Survivor with 5000 hours, your skill doesn't matter and it's all about the Nurse, if it's a good one, nobody cares you have experience. You are going to die no matter what.

Spirit - Same thing. If it's a good Spirit, your skill doesn't matter. Even if you were considered as the best Survivor in the game, you wouldn't be able to outplay a good Spirit, no matter how much you tried. Also, go to some streamers and ask them if they enjoy playing against her, go ahead. So many have already said she's the most annoying and unfun Killer to play against. It's a stupid guessing game and standing still is not an outplay.

    BaLaNcEd KiLlErS bTw

  • Imagine this:

You are a Survivor Main who doesn't run DS, insta-heals and isn't on voice comms all the time.

90% of the time you meet a Killer with their best addons and 3 other Survivors that probably have like 20 hours maximum. Of course, the Killer is a Spirit or a Nurse like 85% of the time.

The Killer is a camper and a tunneler, not to mention their addons make it even harder. So, you die either by getting camped or tunneled, or you die because the Rank 20s you get paired with are too busy Urban Evading in the corner of the map.

Sounds fun, doesn't it? Definitely something that I would want to play.

@DrDeepwound <--- I agree with this, I heard streamers say something like this, many of them have said that the game just isn't fun anymore as it used to be and the Killers are becoming less and less fun to play against. If viewers weren't an issue, they wouldn't be playing DBD. That's sad if you ask me.

  • What are you doing? Posting footage where you managed to down a Survivor within a few seconds? Are you crazy? That is illegal in Killer Main's standards, you must be hacking.

Did I forget to mention to nerf Survivors? Sorry, silly me.

On a serious note tho, they were total 4Heads and all just gave up. But, still goes to show that not every P3 Survivor Main can keep a killer busy for 5 gens like a lot of people love to claim.

  • PSA: Rank 1 doesn't automatically mean you are a great killer.

Y'all need to stop this BS.

  • "Power Role" is usually associated with Killers... by Killers. So, because of this, they think that they should be able to stomp every survivor within a few seconds.

Listen, if you get run around by 1 Survivor for a long time, you are just bad and your "I'm power role i should win every chase ez lol nerf survivors" isn't valid here.

  • A Nurse without addons is fun and challenging.

A Nurse with addons is unfair, sometimes broken and not fun whatsoever.

  • What you find unattractive might be attractive for others.

I think a lot of people will disagree because I saw a lot of people giving love to almost all of the Survivors.

Although, this opens up a really cool idea for designing your own Survivor in the game. It would be cool to see something like that.

  • It doesn't really matter in my opinion.

I'm gay and I wouldn't mind adding a LGBTQ survivor / killer, but what's the point of adding them? The game doesn't even have deep lore and story, so... why?

And who said that the current Survivors we have aren't gay? Maybe they are, nobody knows, because it's an irrelevant information in a game like this.

  • I used to play this every day. Woke up, got ready and played for god knows how long, but nowadays... nope.

The Solo Survivor experience is so painful to a point where I just don't want to play anymore. I don't go SWF because all of my friends quit the game. There are times where I go SWF with an unnamed streamer and their friends and we have fun, but it's not as often.

But, it's not just about SoloQ. It's about Red Ranks in general aswell and the insane toxicity. (being an ######### and bringing toxic and unfun perks / addons)

Why do you think devs help killers more than survivors ?

Mainly because the majority of the Forums and Reddit are Killer Mains.

The constant outcries from Killer Mains are ridiculous and honestly the only thing Devs should say is "Git Gud".

Every Killer change they make is a "RIP Killer, this game is trash, im quitting this game is way too survivor sided, wow gj devs another trash change" change for Killer Mains, and that's a fact. Y'all are never happy with anything the Devs do.

I legitimately think that the Killers here want a Killer that can down Survivors just by looking at them for 0.5 seconds and that's what they would call balance and a "threating" Killer.

  • I am honestly surprised that the Devs still didn't give up on Killer Mains. Y'all are never happy with anything, it's honestly sad.

(why did the Devs remove the down-vote button? I want to see how many Killer Mains would down vote this lul)

Sorry bud but I don't use DS or instaheals either and I have 0 issues with camping or tunneling.

    Good for you.

I got them almost every game. I got sick of it, so SoloQ is a no for me.

  • Fair? Maybe. Fun? No. Not at all.

Stuff like this makes the game worse.

I'm a Survivor who doesn't use DS, doesn't abuse infinites, doesn't use insta-heals and isn't toxic to the Killer. Do you think it's fun to play like that against a douche Killer that camps and tunnels you? No, it's not, and I don't want to play with DS / Insta-heals just so I can have more chances. I don't want to play like that because I consider it scummy and unfun. The only time I would consider going SoloQ is only with DS and a purple insta-heal in my hand because of Killers like that.

The same could be applied to Killers. Killers who don't tunnel or camp are met with Survivors that are incredibly toxic. And those Killers don't want to tunnel or camp because they find it scummy and unfun aswell. But in the end, they are forced to.

  • The devs said that they stay in their own respective maps. According to the lore, every Killer has their own realm. It shouldn't be possible to have Myers on Autohaven and Wraith on Haddonfield, but obviously it's possible due to gameplay reasons.

Every Killer stays on the map that they were released with.

  • Played a match as clown last night. I’m rank 1. A swf team I know of popped in and I knew it’d be tough.

Played a match as Jane last night. I'm rank 1. Randoms popped into my lobby and I knew it was gonna be tough, but I decided to ignore it and not leave. Not every rando is braindead, right?

Well, this Killer brought in the most OP addons they have and a Mori. He found me instantly right as I spawned in. I got bullied to hell, I was camped and tunnelled. My teammate's BT was useless aswell, because there were no good loops around my hook on this specific map. He had NOED, Bamboozle, BBQ, Enduring... the usual meta.

He even bullied us during the Endgame collapse. So, in essence, going against a Killer like that is almost impossible. He had 2000+ hours so he didn't fall for mindgames. You pretty much had to accept the loss, which I did. I didn't have fun though.

Do the Devs even consider the annoying crap that rank 1 Survivors have to deal with?

That is literally what some Survivors have to go through, especially the ones that don't use instaheals, DS, BT, Adrenaline and stuff like that. Poor Killers tho, they're the only ones who have it hard. @iTz_KilLaZ_x

  • It's not like Survivors have to deal with OP addons / perks or anything, right? Killers are obviously fine the way they are.... yeah no.

Like, if you genuinely think that Survivors have it super easy and it's always super fun you are delusional. Survivor gameplay can be just as frusturating as Killer gameplay.

I play mostly Survivor, I never abuse infinites, I never abused MoM before its nerf and I'm never toxic to the Killer. Guess what, I still get camped. I still get mori'd. I still get tunneled. I still get BM'd. I still get ######### on.

That legit makes me want to equip DS and instaheals every game to punish this type of Killers. But I'm not a crybaby to hop on forums and cry about it. I move onto the next game and try to be fair and fun again and I don't want to rely on DS or instaheals.

Looping is also not valid here. Stop with the "Try and break line of sight" stuff. It doesn't work. Survivors loop because hiding is extremely unsafe and the only time breaking line of sight becomes good is when Survivors use Dance With Me along with Lithe. Most jungle gyms have walls and LoS blockers, use them. Mindgame, moonwalk, red light management, double-backing etc. @MystiKasT

  • inb4 "That was totally fine I don't know what you're talking about, btw nerf Survivors pls"

This type of hit is stupid. I am 100% sure that it's BHVR messing with vaults again and not ping.

Imagine nerfing vaults (again), when literally not a single soul asked for a vault nerf. They did this twice now. Yeah, cool.

  • Yes. These changes are nothing, legit microscopic and this outcry is ridiculous.

If they made his power have a cooldown or be only available when crouched, then yes, I would say that is bullshit, but the changes he's getting are not very big.

Do I think he needs it?

Well, recharging the mark during a chase is ridiculous, so that should get fixed. And his overall should be looked at, currently, it's very buggy. Sometimes you might be looking at him for 10 years and no reveal, and sometimes you get revealed from 100 miles away, among other things.

  • Just because you can't play him doesn't mean he's weak.

His mark lasts for a while, if you can't down Survivors by that time you honestly should re-evaluate your own skills.

His revealing and stalking is extremely bugged, sometimes you can be looking at him for 10 years yet it doesn't reveal him, and sometimes you reveal him even when you're not looking at him directly. It's weird.

  • @Ember_Hunter said:

I doubt any respectable killer mains would actually say that.

They don't have to say it.

It's obvious. DS is fine the way it is, yet it's still not enough for Killer Mains.

Pallets have been nerfed multiple times, count was decreased, some loops have been completely guttered because of this, yet it's still not enough for Killer Mains.

All jungle gyms have walls and Killers have the ability to mindgame Survivors, what do they do? They just follow and expect the Survivors to be handed to them, and if they're not, they complain.

  • What were you expecting from a forum crawling with Killer mains?

It's easier to complain about stuff. Cause you know, the Killer players are perfect, everything's the game's fault.

  • Me when I see threads like this one, just because he got tiny nerfs:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBCr-tAsKTc

  • If you call this a nerf then I'm Oprah Winfrey.

This is legit nothing, I don't understand this outcry. Maybe the last point is bad, but that's it.

But hey, what do you expect from Killer Mains.

I'm starting to think that Killer Mains only want Killers who can one-shot survivors just by being on the map. Viable, right?

    *sigh*

  • I am not looking forward to the pallet changes. Before I make any conclusions or anything, I'm gonna wait and see how it works, but I don't have a good feeling about it.

The current loops are already mindgameable and stuff, so why change it? Coldwind was recently changed so that Survs can't see through the wall. Every map now has LoS blockers on jungle gyms, and you can do mindgames that way. Of course, you can't do mindgames at open loops without any LoS blockers.

  • Yeah... no. There are still more than enough potato survivors in Red Ranks.

    Potato Survivors

    • Go down in 10 seconds or less ✓
    • Urban Evasion ✓
    • Crouch all the time ✓
    • Hide in a locker when they hear TR ✓
    • Do nothing but crouch in a corner all game ✓
    • Instead of helping they camp the hatch ✓
    • Always drop the pallet when the killer is like a mile behind them ✓
    • Never look back ✓
    • Always drop the shack pallet way too early, wasting it ✓

^ That happens in Red Ranks way too much. Especially the first point.

  • So, a lot of people complain about how many survivor second chance perks there are, and how a lot of people just run these due to having little to no counter, so here's an idea on how to fix this while still allowing said perks to have their fullest effect.

Adrenaline - Why is this a second chance perk? This perk is an end-game perk, which means you have to reach end-game first, you are pretty much playing the whole game with just 3 perks. Also, even after the last gen pops, if you're not in a chase, it's not very good.

Decisive Strike - Was nerfed. It's fine now. It's a counter to tunneling, so don't tunnel maybe?

Borrowed Time - Was nerfed. It's a counter to camping. If you're going to camp, atleast make sure that you're doing it good and always smack the unhooker to be 100% sure someone is gonna go down.

Mettle of Man - It's getting nerfed.

I'm not even gonna write anything about Deliverance because it's not a second chance perk at all.

  • I ######### love the way she looks and her overall concept.

But... her power is so... weird.

When there's a good Spirit player, and you happen to NOT have Iron Will in your set up, you're dead and there's nothing you can do. That's what I find stupid about her power.

Some Spirits aren't that good, but when they know how to work with injured sounds and stuff, she's unstoppable.

    That's how I feel anyway.

  • Red Rank SoloQ Survivor Experience:

    1. Get in a looby
    2. 3 default clothes Claudettes join your lobby
    3. You check their profile and realize that they have like 70 hours.
    4. Dodge the lobby because you know it's not worth playing with baby Claudettes.
    5. Join another lobby, point 2 and 3 repeat like 5 times before you get decent survivors.
    6. Load in the game
    7. Start doing gens, notice that it's Ruin, but I continue working on it.
    8. I popped the gen, 3 minutes pass and we're still at 4 gens left because everybody is looking for Ruin.
    9. Get in a chase with the Killer, waste his time for 3-5 minutes, no gens popped because others can't deal with Ruin.
    10. Get hooked and reach second hook state before you actually get saved.
    11. DC
  • I like this, but I think this would make a very cheesy and OP combo if you paired it with Ruin aswell.

  • Imagine protecting a broken killer addon that is known as the most BS cheese addon in the entire game by the majority of people here. Really shows the bias of some people.

"JuSt TaKe PrEmOnItIoN aNd SpInE cHiLl LoL"

  • I'm at high ranks (unfortunately) right now and I'm... questionable, because I don't play the game that often, so I'm always kinda rusty when I get back to it after a while.

But even my rust is not comparable to the amount of stupidity my teammates usually have when I'm going solo.

Sorry for pointing u out, but your very wrong look at pig main stream ardetha who has stopped playing since the change to her power.

  • @KaoMinerva said:

    Dude what the hell ever.

Wraith is NOT rank 1 viable. Add on dependent!

Pig is not rank 1 viable. Very add on dependent.

Clown can stop loops yes, but he's not r1 viable and still add on dependent.

Legion did not deserve to be made near useless. You damn right I liked FMT, but even still an elite group of survivors would smash you.

Plague is a joke and you know it. Her power does nothing to threaten Survivors and she's also very add on dependent. Gen rush and loops destroy her too.

If you MASTER nurse you should destroy the game. She's 100% reliant on her power AND she has to think about what you will do before you do it. How is that not worth what she brings? There aren't many god nurse players left so why all the crying? Survivors just don't want to face dangerous killers... Period. I destroy the game with Billy, on PC with a pad, and STILL have hell with elite r1 players & SWF.

Just because you mastered looping and finding hex within the first 3 seconds doesn't mean you deserve to survive every game. Doesn't that sound stupid?

This game has about 15 killers. Only 5 are "viable."

    1. Nurse, the best period.

    2. Billy, the best behind nurse. Can be stopped by pallets.

    3. Spirit, third best for me. Very add on dependent & sound dependent. Sound bugs break her viability.

    4. Hag, the wild card. She can be placed anywhere based on who uses her. Compared to the top 3, hampered by mobility issues in a Chase.

    5. Huntress, trash to me and boring but I know she can destroy the game.

Wraith and Pig can be good if played by good players.

Plague gets punished by Survivors not cleansing, but at the end of the day, they are 1-hit down for the whole game.

When did I say mastering looping should make you survive every game? Of course it shouldn't. It's not very good for balance when you have a character that can completely disregard everything the Survivors have and get 4ks just cause you managed to master her. But yeah, there aren't many good Nurses left.

Sorry bud, but you lost me at "even elite survivors would smash you with FMT". Yeah... no. If you got destroyed with the old FMT, combined with all the Killer meta perks, you need to git gud. Honestly.

This game has 15 killers. And all can do well in Rank 1, because Rank 1 isn't populated by good Survivors at all. It's populated by people who are dumb enough to go there, aka new players, cause it's insanely easy to rank up.

  • Well, most people who claim "they play both sides" are usually biased as all hell towards one side.

    So... yeah.

  • Wraith is in a good spot right now.

    Freddy is getting reworked.

Clown is the most annoying and most unfun to play against, he can stop loops sometimes even before you reach them. I guess this is just a case of git gud.

All of the Pig mains I know would disagree with that statement.

Legion. Overnerfed? Yes. Is it for the best? Yes. If you legitimately think FMT was okay, I might actually stop and never look at this thread because having a convo with a biased Killer main is not for me, because it leads to nowhere. Stun after Frenzy is logical, imagine that there was no stun, he would probably become a top tier killer and super OP. Old Legion was the most bullshit killer in the entire game.

Plague is good in the right hands, although she can be slowed down if survivors don't cleanse, that makes her an M1 killer.

Ghostface. PTB. Public. Test. Build. TEST. That's all I'm going to say.

Nurse is a Killer that requires a LOT of skill to learn and master, but when you do, you become an unstoppable killing machine that will get 4ks and 3ks 9.9/10 games. That is not okay. Just cause you learned how to play her, doesn't mean you should be unstoppable. But, I do agree that her base power shouldn't get nerf, mainly just her addons.

The devs "not listening to the players". Please explain that, because if you're referring to the Killer mains on this forum, I am so glad they didn't. This game would be in a even bigger mess than it is right now.

  • It's survivor favored when a Forum Killer main loses a match.

Remember kids, when a Forum Killer main loses a match, they will make sure to let the whole forum know how bad and trash this game is.

    :^)

  • @DarkGGhost

Thanks for reminding me that Ghostface just got released.

Oh wait, he didn't. Why in the hell do you think the devs put PTB on PC?

The whole point of the PTB is to give constructive criticism and feedback. The point is not to cry and whine about the Dev team on DBD. Get your mind together before you post something like this.

And even if they don't follow up with the feedback and decide to release him like he is, they will catch up with all the feedback eventually, through NORMAL forum posts and other stuff, such as seeing / playing him to see how he really performs.

Stop attacking the devs all the time. Like seriously, if you don't like it, leave. Simple as that.

The same ######### happened with Spirit, she got on the PTB, Killer mains like you decided to insult the devs and cry about it, she got some fixes and guess what, she's a top tier Killer now.

  • That's a hard thing to say. I don't think I can give you an answer, I would have to live through that experience to tell you, because I have no idea how I would react in the Entity's realm.

  • @BadMrFrosty said:

Well, the general consensus on Ghostface is that not only is he terrible, but he basically has no power. So, to get back on the topic of discussing this dreadful killer, I present to you my ideas for GHOSTFACE: Top 5 Killer Edition. These changes aim at making baseline Ghostface as competitive as reasonably possible (as far as maps will allow for non-mobile, M1 killers). The intention of these suggestions is to make him competitive at high ranks and add another potential pick to the killer pool against competent survivors.

    Ghostface Changes:

    • Stalked survivors gain the Exposed status until they are hooked. This allows for sneaky plays and sudden downs which will allow the killer to gain momentum at a reasonable rate. It also ups the ante of being stalked, since getting away doesn't give you a free pass while the effect wears off. Keeping your eyes peeled for Ghostface is much more necessary after he's gathered the 'intel' he needs on the survivor.
    • Night Shroud can no longer be disabled by survivors. The reward for 'seeing' Ghostface is a head start on the chase if he's caught on time, and that's not factoring in sprint burst. Be aware of your surroundings or pay the price.
    • Ghostface moves at 4.6m/sec while crouched, losing his terror radius and red stain (FOV remains lower than normal).
    • Ghostface can now stalk survivors running through corn but not other vision blocking elements (walls, rubble, etc). This helps differentiate him from Myers, who cannot stalk through corn, but who can potentially down multiple survivors with his power.
    • The first attack against a fully stalked survivor gains increased lunge range. Again, this helps with getting a fatal opening hit on unaware survivors or those that spot him too late.
    • Survivors injured by Ghostface's basic attack have the 'Trauma' debuff applied to them. Trauma decreases a survivors repair speed by 10/20/30% over 30 seconds until they are healed. Ghostface's attack has left the survivor shaken and paranoid, incapable of focusing on their task as diligently as before.
    • Ghostface no longer gives survivors a noise notification when he enters stalk.
    • Stalk time remains untouched.

There. +1 killer to red ranks. The funny part is, despite all of these very powerful buffs, I don't think he'd be good against the best survivors or SWF. For that, he'd need an entire overhaul of his kit, but this was in keeping with the developers vision for the killer (while removing the idiocy).

    1. No, that makes no sense. Why should it last for that long? If anything it's gonna make the game unplayable as Survivor, especially in SoloQ. Everyone's going to be shitting their pants. Also, Ghostface could just stalk all Survivors and leave them and suddenly everyone is an easy one-shot.
    2. I do agree that being able to cancel his power as a Survivor is a little weird, so I'm ok with this change.
    3. Isn't that how it works? I thought it worked that way.
    4. No. Myers can't stalk through corn. Why should Ghostface be able to? It's a vision blocking thing and it's there for a reason. When you're in the corn, there is legit nothing around you.
    5. I would support this if hitboxes were working the way that they are supposed to. It's honestly ridiculous because some of the hits are stupid, and we all know about the window vaulting hitboxes.
    6. I think this should apply only if he one-shots them with his power. Of course, it would have to last for a lot longer. That way they're getting hooked, but also getting a slight gen debuff after they're unhooked if they don't heal right away.
    7. I mean, I don't know, after all, he can walk at 4.6 m/s when crouched with 0 TR and no red stain. Survivors don't get notified when Myers is stalking them because his TR isn't 0 and moves at a slightly slower speed than 4.6 m/s. Also he's pretty tall. This change is a maybe from me.

Those are my opinions, so please don't kill me after you read them.

  • @BloodyNights said:

For me I'd say it's pretty even. As killer I do not get Death squads every single friggin game. That's a minority for sure, and those types generally have super altruistic survivors. Usually if you down someone you can walk around for a bit a get another smack for the ones going for a flash light save/waiting to save as soon as you turn your back.

Are there crappy games were you get gen rushed, and before you know it they already got it down to one gen. Sure it happens to the best of us. But that isn't the majority. Majority for me is around 3 kills a game. I almost never get 0 kills. Currently I player Myers as my main, with The Legion on the side. Ghostface is certainly getting added to my arsenal.

As survivor you can certainly have relaxing games, heck I've had games were the killer never saw me once, I just did gens, and left. It was boring. But then I've had games were a survivor has bond on, and brings tier 3 myers my direction so I don't have time to get away, get downed and get camped until I die and that's GG. Or survivors who disconnect because they don't like the map, or the killer is rocking some op add-ons/Ebony Moris, and it instantly becomes a hatch game.

Not every game on either side is always a cake walk, and it feels balanced on both sides to me. Git Gud never applied so hard right now imo.

    This.

I think people just love to over-exaggerate about everything to compensate for their lack of skill on these forums.

@FeelsVeryBadMan My only guess as to why something like that hasn't been implimented would be that people have a ton of different ideas and they don't know what approach they should go with. Additionally, some seem to think adding support for Solo would be OP and they want Killers buffed first.

    That makes 0 sense.

Why should they buff Killers first? The most logical way is to bring Solos much much much closer to SWF, and then they can start to balance around SWF.

  • It's not impossible, but it's significantly harder than SWF.

I still don't understand why they haven't added something for Solo players. Why aren't there some UI icons next to survivors to indicate what they're doing? Chased, repairing a generator, cleansing a totem, etc. Why isn't there a dull totem counter? I just don't understand. And tbh I don't think that something like this would be hard to implement.
