Usually the mods take it down pretty quick. Why these forums though? Like the most viewed thread only has like 1.2k views.Well they spam across all forums for all games the same thing and they get paid for views so the more people that open them the more they make. Due to the law of averages they'll get at least one sucker from someplace to fall for it.
As the great P.T. Barnum once said, " There's a sucker born every minute"

@powerbats I don't want easy games. I want winnable games. I don't recall saying that solo survivors can't, can you quote me?I also don't recall saying solo survivors don't know how to work on gens by themselves. Do you have a quote from me saying otherwise? If so I apologize and retract my earlier statement.
What am I blaming? The objective time imbalance? Go ahead, enlighten me. How can I adapt? What can I do to play more optimally? Give me some suggestions I'm all ears. Also it's not like depip squad depipped over 90% of killers or anything like that without perks (IIRC, don't remember exact percentage).
Ok? I dodge some lobbies. Sue me. I play the game to have fun occasionally just as I try hard occasionally. For the record, I never dodge because of items. FD exists for a reason.
Awesome, I'm sure those survivors returned the favor of you not dodging by playing non-toxic. I've faced good survivors as well. I genuinely enjoy getting 360'd because it does take skill (not sarcasm) I enjoy facing someone who can use dead hard effectively. I enjoy so many things about this game. But I also don't enjoy some things.
I try to as well. I've come a long way since my first game as killer. I keep getting consistently better, and with this I also understand some mechanics are unfair. I'm going to voice my opinion, I want civil constructive debate. If I get proven wrong I'll rethink my stance(s) and either change my mind or come up with better arguments.
Everyone is gonna play solo, 99% of the killers will mark that option in a heartbeat. The game would die because swf would never find lobbies.
I don't want swf removed, I want the game balanced around them so each side can have fun.
I don't believe i said you specifically want easy games but killers that post on here about dodging anything they even suspect is swf or as all the examples I gave do. Now if we're to be completely technical about it you wanting to dodge SWF is all about wanting easier games.
You can also win games against any swf group, to say those aren't winnable is a fallacy and defeatist from the start. That's like a general in war being outnumbered and saying eh can't win despite knowing how the enemy fights which is an advantage.
No, that's a general statement because your statement was a blanket one which meant that solo's couldn't do the same thing. So no apology is necessary for that, it's just how it comes across when looked at objectively.
You're blaming a 2 man, 3 man or 4 man swf for your issues despite all the evidence that a killer can overcome those differences.I've usually got 1 person wounded and either downed or hooked before a gen pops. It's extremely rare for me to have 3 gens pop like that let alone 2.
I've never used Ruin except for when trying to do the Hag's adepts, in fact Ruin is a really bad crutch worse than DS because you depend on it. When it drops either early or 5 minutes into the game your whole world goes up in flames metaphorically speaking. It's almost as if when you lose that totem you forget how to play and act like you've already lost the match.
If you can't learn to pressure gens better, patrol better, know where people are most likely to be, what are the safe routes and unsafe routes and pallet/vault locations. Then nothing I say can help you since you're stuck in your ways.
If a gen is on the outermost edge of the map and you've got 4 close together than leave that one alone, it doesn't matter that there's 2 or more people on it. I've seen killers get attached to 1 gen for whatever reason or because a hex totem is there. They'll camp that and never let anyone near that are meanwhile everything else gets powered.
Do you patrol properly, what routes do you use to get to where you want to go, what's the most optimal route, if a gen pops where are they most likely to go etc.
As for the depip squad experiment just stop, that's not a valid experiment and it most definitely doesn't validate your argument at all. Because 4 pro tier players destroying a random killer including baby killers doing dailies isn't valid.
That'd be as valid as me getting together 3 others each with over 1k hours and playing rank 20's and destroying them repeatedly. You'd say that's not valid the same as when people that're high ranked play low ranked.
So you admit to dodging lobbies but then turn around and say FD exists for a reason, what you want is fun by your definition. You lobby shop for easier matches because you want to have fun. But those lobbies you dodged do you know for a fact those were swf or did you just dodge them because you didn't like the characters/outfits/loadouts?
Most groups don't know you didn't dodge them because they were or weren't swf groups, they just know you didn't dodge them for your own selfish reasons. I also have gotten more toxicity from solo lobby survivors than I have swf groups who're on average more friendly.
But then I don't camp, i don't hardcore tunnel, I don't ever say ggez or anything like that, if someone crashes during loading screen or right at start I tend to go easy. When I 4k I generally get a gg because the match was fun for both sides.
I understand that and over time it'll improve but by not taking the challenge of swf you'll miss out on so much that when you face a solo lobby of really good people you'll get wrecked. I've been in so many so q lobbies at rank 1 where all 4 people joined separately sometimes even minutes apart.
The killer gets their clocked cleaned because everyone is super focused and knows what they're doing then post game comes up and complains about 4 man swf. They then say they should've dodged like they always do despite everyone loading up separately.
Yes everyone is going to voice their opinion but it's been 2+ years, the devs have emphatically stated they're not doing anything like this and for many of the reason I've listed. What they have said is they want to buff solo q up to the level of SWF information wise then buff killers to face that level. That benefits everyone not just the vocal minority that wants the dodge option since then it's easier to balance.
No, 99% of killers won't go for that option since there's not 99% of the killers that're that foolish since they know the numbers don't work. In fact it's you killer that wouldn't have lobbies because the playerbase of solo players isn't that big to support you.
If you want to have 2-6 hour lobbies then go ahead and be my guest, but you're stuck there forever and can't queue up for swf lobbies. It's the old adage be careful what you wish for since there's a finite number of solo players.
See my comment above about the buffing solo up.

I didn't blame anyone for anything. I simply answered the question in the title.
There are people that believe SWF is balanced and insist you battle them.
At the very least there are people that know full well SWF is harder and still insist you vs them as if they were balanced.
It's not that you blamed anyone for anything it's how you answered the question in the tile, hence my response.
Yes, but there's also those who don't and for some that do they point out as i did some of the excuses used as well as the results of versing them. .
That last part turns around and helps solve some of the complaints about other things killer preferential players have. Since if you can learn how easy it is to generally counter swf and use their strengths against them you'll favor them more.

There's a reason tha spammers post during a certain time of day because currently until they add more moderators it's easier to get past currently. You also don't see all the spam the filter catches either which is a huge amount.
Those should start disappearing soon™ given the time of night when the mods have more availability based upon prior experience.

God this is ridiculous. Spawn in, ruin gone in 30 seconds. Find survivor, by the time he's down 3 gens pop. Hook him don't even have time to get across the map before the other 2 pop. It's insane. Secondary objectives would be amazing. The objective time imbalance is so hard to overcome and survivors need something else.@Rebel_Raven said:
Yeah, more than a few do, and they insist you vs them anyhow.
Or they know they're imbalanced an insist you vs them anyhow.
How dare we dodge, eh?
How dare we complain about them?Survivors just want to have fun. At the killers expense.
Yes because everytime that Ruin totem is destroyed it's a sWF squad doing it, I mean it's not like experienced solo players don't know how to do that.
It's also not as if experienced solo survivors don't know how to work on gens by themselves or do unhooks by themselves and rush to heal the person since 2 healing is better than 1 in case killer comes back.
Yes play the blame game since that works so well, it's not like most lobbies don't contain a duo at least 64.1% of the time or anything like that. I mean logic and common sense would say that after it being a core function of the game for over 2 years you'd stop complaining about it and adapt.
The old dodge excuse, oh it looks like swf so let me dodge, r solo's join at once still looks like swf so gotta dodge.
I don't like their outfits, dodge, they brought 1 flashlight dodge, they have 2 medkits dodge, check their profile and find out they're experienced dodge. It's all under the banner of it's swf so I can safely dodge I mean lobby shop for easier matches.
For the record I've never dodged a single match except for when someone has 700+ ping since that's not fair to the other 3 survivors in the match. I've taken on all matches otherwise and faced some really good swf groups even the dreaded swat teams.
Yet I've never once come onto the forums and complained about them, I didn't say I wanted easier matches, I didn't ask for a lobby dodging option. I chose to play the game because those were the lobbies that were given to me.
Some of the games i got destroyed while others i did the destroying, but the one thing all those matches had in common was that I learned how to play better. When I make mistakes I learn from them and improve which makes me a better player when I'm versing solo.
I'd love for them to make a solo only system but then if you choose solo lobbies option YOU'RE LOCKED INTO IT FOREVER. So if you want those easier matches then you get stuck in that queue and if your lobby times suck oh well, you got what you asked for.
Since if they're going to waste time and resources into something like that it makes no sense for them to simply let you dodge what you asked for.

I agree About the first part. The second part.. Well its your opinion, not a fact or even close to reality
Well if we go of the past data set that said that solo was 34.1 % of all lobbies then his 2nd part is actually quite accurate. Now if we go off the assumptions of quite a few of the killer sided preference players that sWF lobby % has increased.
Then his opinion is even more accurate due to an even smaller solo lobby playerbase.

- All perks are technically crutch perks.
- NOED and DS are both considered true crutch perks when they're activated.
- The former can be cleansed unless the killer is running TOTH and guards them well. The latter can be dealt with to an extent by dribbling, running enduring, Iron Grasp or Moring them.
- The change to all ranks is fine and people just need to adapt and CLEANSE THE TOTEMS thus removing said NOED and giving yourself 600 objective points for free.
I mean you don't ignore Devour Hope when it's up at any rank just because it's rank I or II do you?

Yes, let's defy common sense and not believe a coordinated team isn't tougher than an uncoordinated one.
Now where did I ever say that?
Let's ignore evidence of SWFs gleefully mauling a killer. Dare I think it's a habit?
So someone posts a video of it happening, does that mean it happens every time?
Hey, speaking of where we got our info, where did you get yours? I doubt it's any more reputable.
Gee notice where I said I've been in matches and also how many rank 20ish forum posts there are complaining about it.
Between you, and me, where it's important here, your opinion doesn't weigh more than mine and is about as important as mine is to you.
I never said it was but nice of you to point out the obvious.
The top of the mountain doesn't matter much when higher ranks can cheese the system and go against lower ranks, and call it teaching matches, or some such.
That applies to both sides and the only way newer people will play this game if their friends want them to is to you know play with their friends. I mean unless you want people to buy an additional copy and never play it unless it's with someone brand new to the game. You'll obviously be willing to pay for each and every copy of the game for those people right?
Or people playing on multiple accounts, one lower rank.
Now if this isn't contradictory I don't know what is, you don't want high ranked players playing with their low ranked newbie friends. Now you're complaining about them playing low ranked accounts with said low ranked newbies. So their damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Or derankimg themselves
That seems to be a killer sided thing more than survivor sided thing judging by the comments on the forum.
Or when things go haywire and 2 sides battle that have no business meeting.
Ok not sure exactly what this relates to here.

HERESY !!!!!!!!!!!! 😜
While I agree sometimes it's hard to find good discussions before they quickly get derailed by the same 5 or so people on both sides (5 or so is an example). The issue would be is that you run the risk of having an echo chamber where you only hear things you like.
Some of the ahem respondents in question do come up with some good points from time to time, what'll help is once they get more mods on here. Once that happens you'll see the hardcore derailing lessen to an extent.

They get that practically by default.Says who, your biased opinion or have you surveyed over 60k people and gotten their opinions? Lets also not forget all the rank 20 ish swf groups that killers clean house on.

So 1 person already sacrificed, 1 in basement and one goes down there now they're trapped. So that means the person up top is absolutely screwed for the duration of your timer and once hooked that means the 2 in the basement are easy.
huntress with Iridescent, Bubba, Billy, Wraith, heck any killer would have an easy time and lets not forget Nurse who could just blink around for free.
-
I don't stream duer to no camera and rom isn't set up for it and I also don't play Nea, I rarely play Claudette and I don't tea bag bm. Now singling out certain characters and saying it's only these that're toxic is confirmation bias because i've had games as both sides. I've seen Bills, Quentins, Adams, Davids etc do it, I've seen with and without flashlights and P3 outfits.
The common theme is always oh it's P3 and flashlights so they must be toxic, no that's just your confirmation bias talking. Since you forget all the games where it was a P3 with flashlight they were normal players and the same is true for killers, not every Billy or Bubba is a camper.

Ok seriously this has turned into another merry go round of the same posters talking past each other again, there should be a hidden post count.
Once it reaches that by the same posters the thread gets locked and a big smiley face comes up and says time to start a new one. 😜😁
But in all seriousness whether it's potatoes or whether it's a good team if you're not willing to adapt, change and learn you're not going to have fun. You won't improve, you get upset at every mistake instead of learning from them etc.
I just had to remind all the people who prefer killer and those who prefer survivor of something they've all seemed to forget except in passing.
At the low ranks killers dominate survivors where it's mostly potatoes and some killers have deranked to in order to have easy matches. The survivors hate how killers are completely broken and op and come here and ask for nerfs, then get to high ranks and like the role reversal.
At low ranks killers like how brokenly op they are and know it's completely unfair but they're enjoying their gluttony of easy matches. Then they get to middle ranks and it's a more balanced affair and they have to actually play.
At high ranks the roles get reversed and both sides forget how it was at low ranks an killers derank for the easier matches and some just hard camp because it's all they know how to do. While survivors enjoy the more relaxed matches until they facexperienceded killers that know how to play.
Those less experienced survivors then want nerfs/buffs because like they want easier matches so they derank like the killers do. Meanwhile the rest of us want balance and enjoy the challenges of good players on both sides. We want balance that's balanced for both sides, we just don't always agree on how best to do it..
-
It's based off % so the more you try it the higher the chance you'll eventually get it I think. But the survivor has to fail a lot for it to get to that point if that 1st part is accurate.
-
Just a few things I've noticed and no i'm not taking sides here this is just some observations.
Yes it's true that some people on here both sides will defend something just because it's their side they're backing up.
The escape stats aren't the end all because we don't have a complete data breakdown by any of the following metrics.
By rank (Both killer and survivor rank as well as average for survivors)
By time of day
By region (if this is still meaningful)
By groups solo, 1 duo, 2 duo's, 3 or 4 man swf etc.
Was this an exit gate escape or hatch escape.
For the above if it was hatch how many gens were left.
Did someone dc/crash on either side?
Did the killer let 1 or more escape either via gate or hatch?
Did people just suicide either on hook or to the killer (example the Halloween event is a perfect one)You'd really need those and the breakdown in each of those within the other categories as well.
There is no killer main or survivor main, just preferences for what you enjoy more unless you're a Freddy or Bubba main then you're just a masochist.
Map offerings always being the same is rare otherwise the devs would've already adjusted that with the weighting system. If you're having issues throw your own map offering in. That's what those that play killer more suggest to survivors that complain about it.
Also for the lol's don't let it bother you if you're taking it negatively, take it as a badge of honor or perhaps someone thought you said something they found amusing.

There's crashes and then there's the few jerks that wait until 6-8 seconds and try and game it although those are rarer.

Santa Clown is pretty silly.
It would be believable in his lore. He could have been a mall Santa at one point. He's already a clown, after all, maybe he just wanted to make some extra money around the holidays.
I've been thinking that BHVR will sneak something in like that during the Christmas event if there's one since it'd be perfect for him.

So again tell me how survivors can hold the game hostage without cheating? Because off the top of my head I can't think of anything.
You can basically play hide and seek and if there's more than 1 person doing it with say bond in both exit gates you can easily do it. If the killer doesn't have NOED or it's not permanent Evil III Myers they can just sit safely inside or near the exit gates.
The sneakiest person and also probably the one wIth SB/UE/Fleet Footwork and w/e perks helps can roam the map always hiding from the killer. They can do that solo or with anyone that they play with.
So both sides can and do take the game hostage and both sides are breaking the rules and can be punished for doing so.
-
What has been said about this is that EAC can and does ban if they catch you using the program. What BHVR has said is that any EAC bans done by EAC will not be overturned by BHVR under any circumstances.
So you use MLGA and any other program not on their ok list at your own risk, EAC doesn't actively check for it but if it flags the program and you get banned you're screwed.

I do believe they said that console bans would be coming soon™ so that anyone breaking the rules can be more easily punished.

I think it was a bad idea to make self care a Claudette only perk in the beginning. I think it should at least be one of those you can get on any survivor. Not survivor specific.I was just making a point, I don't necessarily agree with my op but its a valid argument which is kinda ignored and dismissed because older players think giving new players a hard time is good for the game.
Well if it was say a Bill perk you'd be saying the same thing about it being a Bill only perk then and you can get it on any survivor with the teachable unlocked.
It's not that we think giving newer players a hard time at all, it's that we think of it in a reasonable sense that it shouldn't be free. The only perks that should be free are those unique to each character and then to get them on others you learn the teachable and ten get it from your bloodweb.

Hey,This is my first post to these forums, but judging from how people act on other DBD forums (reddit, etc.) - I'm sure I'll be flamed to death for even suggesting something different - but I hope the Devs see this and at least consider it.
Let me start by saying that I'm a SURVIVOR main, I almost never play killer. I've had the game for over a year and haven't played killer nearly at all in that time. Just recently I started to get more into the idea of player killer for a game or two a night.
I've noticed that when playing survivor I have to wait SO LONG to get into a match - and then it's with a killer who's internet speed is in red and will have me bouncing all over the maps. So, quit and try again, it can take the better part of a half an hour just to get into a game.
Yet when I play killer I don't have to wait a minute before 4 SWF teabaggers instantly load in.
The point being: That lots of people are playing survivor and few playing killer - Probably due to not wanting to be out balanced and communicated by 4 SWF A-holes.
I'M READY FOR THE FLAMES HERE...
Because you suck, get better at killer, etc. - probably all coming from SWF survivor mains!
Here's the thing:
I'm a survivor main that doesn't ever play SWF, I get stuck with idiot teammates all the time, and don't have communication advantages - plus I can't coordinate with other people on what perks we'll use and items we'll use, etc. I respect the killer and don't teabag, etc. - I'm not 12 years old. And...
TO THE DEVS:
I'm a CASUAL player, from what I understand your core demographic. I like playing survivor better, yet I would play a game or two of killer a night being that I've had the game for long enough, but I tend not to because of the overall attitude and survivor advantages.
Could you please add a feature to block SWF for killers?!
I know that that may take away from what your bread and butter is - tons of tea bagging SWG groups who might not get as many matches to play, but...
There are plenty of killers who don't care and would play SWF anyway (especially at higher ranks).
Please do this for people like me who love the game, love your new ideas - but who may stop playing because of horrendously long wait times for survivor (only to play with idiots) and SWF groups overrunning and annoying killers.
The answer has always been no and they talked about it in the last dev stream that swf was always an intended feature. They're not going to cater to a very small minority of the games player base since it's not worth the time or the effort.
You say you're a survivor main but these comments just scream killer main instead.
Yet when I play killer I don't have to wait a minute before 4 SWF teabaggers instantly load in.
The point being: That lots of people are playing survivor and few playing killer - Probably due to not wanting to be out balanced and communicated by 4 SWF A-holes.
Because you suck, get better at killer, etc. - probably all coming from SWF survivor mains!
I know that that may take away from what your bread and butter is -** tons of tea bagging** SWG groups who might not get as many matches to play, but...
Yeah that looks like the common killer main complaints on here many of which have debunked repeatedly because many are just excuses.
I lost so it must've been because every game I get this:
4 man SWF swat team.
4 man DS/flashlight/SB/UE/ insert w/e perk you want to use as an excuse.
4 man tea baggers every game
etc etc etc.Using the last known data point 70% of matches are some kind of SWF either 2,3, or 4 person groups with the rest all solo. This is from Last year and we're currently waiting for new updated statistics.
4 strangers = 30%
2 friends + 2 strangers = 34.1%
2 friends + 2 friends = 9.5%
3 friends + 1 stranger = 17.9%
4 friends = 8.5%That's 64.1% of all games only have 2 SWF in them.
So to say every game is a man SWF all tea baggers is flat out untrue, you're also not getting 4 man SWF's every game either.
Now onto the wait times, that issue has mostly been fixed and the only times you'll really run into longer wait times are during the following times.
During events when everyone wants to play one side similar to the Halloween event, during PTB testing when lots of people are on the PTB.
You'll also have longer wait times depending on the time of day, around holidays due to people travelling, storms or outages in a particular area etc.
Now as someone who plays both sides I've got no issues really getting a lobby as either side and when one does have longer time I just swap over to other side.
This has nothing to do with SWF causing issues as much as it does other factors, if you can't get a lobby swap over. Again they won't cater to the minority here since it doesn't make sense and the killers opting out of SWF will just opt right back in when they find they have to wait 2 hours for a lobby.

Going afk is fine, just go find someplace to hide and if you have Insidious it's even better, Wraith with his cloak is good too. Some killers actually make it entertaining by playing hide and seek with the survivors and Wraith is the best one for this. If you have his ultra rare no sound addon pair it with a black ward and take Insidious.
You can also take Bitter Murmur to see where people are at and move accordingly to keep from being found although someone might find you eventually.
ah yeah okay, so going afk like this is not considered botting i suppose?
I've not seen a thing said about afking equaling botting so far and botting as is most commonly understood is using a 3rd party program to perform actions. So you'd load the game and lobby up and once in it'd do basic things like run around or or crouch around in a preprogrammed route etc.

The easiest way is to play Claudette, unlock ehr teachable and then farm points up on her so that you can then get the teachable on the person you want.
For killers wanting Hex:Ruin or BBQ they have to go through same thing and survivors wanting SC/DS/SB/AD/DH/ whatever ever perk and insert killer equivalents here.
Both sides have to grind for something they want not be given it for free other wise why play if everything is given to you for free?

There will never be separated builds for pc and console, but I dnot see a reason why they cap sensitivy at consolesThe sensitivity might just be an oversight or could be a coding limits it since it might break something else.

powerbats said:They definitely didn't remove Moonlight Offerings to help killers,
speaking of flashlight blinding they changed it from a white screen to the new effect to help killers.
To be fair, moonlight offerings were removed due to "issues with lighting balances in maps" as per devs when asked about lighting changes, and the blind effect doesnt really HELP the killers as much as just reduces the real world physical blinding pain from a bright all white screen. But the rest is fair.
True, I just remember a lot of killer complaining about the pair of offerings since depending on the killer it could be beneficial or a huge negative.

Well a some good examples of an exploits would be the Tinkerer II no terror radius bug that once discovered every killer seemed to start using it.
The other was the clown reloading movement speed exploit that every Clown started using and you started seeing clowns at ranks you wouldn't before.
In both those cases they were known exploits that once known became more widespread in usage despite it being made clear by the devs they were exploits.
Now for this one this might just be a bug and not an exploit and if it's an exploit will probably be patched before live and if it hits live and is still there. Those abusing it will get coal in their socks form the devs if it's an exploit and they abuse it.
