what does engravings even do? i dont understand it
Iri engravings on hillbilly increases the speed of his chainsaw allowing him to be able to outplay any loop.

Have you considered that being against "us vs them" discussion is actually a subtle form of "us vs them" whereby you pit yourself against the "us vs them" crowd?
One for all

This happens in every game its just more prevalent in dbd as its easier to farm for content and these people tend to make post and whatnot about their inability to have fun.
Either way this shouldn't be affecting your killer matches in any way as it is simply people complaining as per usual. The game is just super optimized at the moment so everybody is running sweaty builds because they think everyone they go against is Team Eternal or Momoseventh.

I feel like forced hesitation is only made really good because of infectious. without infectious you just get the hindered which is only helpful if you have location on others.
Infectious x forced hesitation gives aura reading and the hindered so you can just go to exact location and bonk them while hindered with the high mobility killers.
Forced hesitation also has a cooldown vs infectious which has none.@cogsturning said:

Forced Hesitation isn't that bad. It's range is pretty limited. The slug builds that are going around never include. The problem is Infectious ans Coul.
I agree in some aspects that the others are good for overall slugging. However the problem is that forced hesitation forces survivors into really unfortunate lose/lose situations. Examples being:
- Slugged survivor gets picked up in front of killer without wglf, they instantly go down then the second survivor gets two tapped. And if they don't pick up the survivor that is possibly minutes off of their life if they are being camped in a 3 gen as there is zero slugging anti-camp.
- It also is surprisingly great for tunneling as if a survivors teammate is forcing themselves to be downed the injured survivors gets hindered.
- Amazing snowball potential especially on certain killers as being up is significantly more dangerous than it would be otherwise.
Forced Hesitation is really just made in such a way that it couldn't create a healthy gameplay loop without a rework.

I think Infectious Fright is the perk is more of a issue. combos with coulrophobia on high mobility killers due to big terror radius causing the slug builds.
Would change Infectious Fright first before looking at coulrophobia changes.infectious and coulrophobia are fine honestly the only one I have a problem with is forced hesitation

hopefully the graphical rework leaves behind the old gen consoles.
I find it insane how many games still support old gen until I realized how many old gen players play these games.

Even if they're 95% it still takes 2-3 seconds to fully recover them.

Regardless, the game promotes passivity to the casual player base or people who generally are not good against ranged killers.
Behavior does this every update - release an overtuned killer, people get inflated kill rates, the killer gets nerfed, people go back to their mains, these people get into higher MMR that they do not belong in, their matches collapse because they can no longer depend on a killer that promotes passivity, and then we hear the mantra of, "I can't do anything, survivors are too strong, they need to be nerfed due to their second chances."
Every single update it's the same thing, people climb to higher MMR, they go against survivors who know macro play (as killers love to toss that word around), and they demand nerfs.
I cannot wait for Halloween in September.
I would recommend trying saw genesis in july, other than that most people are at the soft cap for MMR so its not like it matters much.

Atp I'm convinced Dredge deserves their own "???" Tier. Killer plays so radically different depending on the map you're on and the add ons you use that they almost defy categorization. You get a corn map and they're C tier but you play on Midwich or Meat Plant with it's best add-ons and I genuinely believe they're a top 10 killer.
Then you have extremely transformative add-ons like Follower's Cowl that's more or less Nowhere to Hide in an add-on giving them an extra power or the microphone that tells you where survivors are across the map but then you feel compelled to always use skull and calendar so I'm not sure how you consider that into the ranking.
But at the same time I can't even say the community underrated Dredge because on the maps they're bad they're REALLY bad where their mobility is handicapped and their anti loop is a joke on maps with lots of jungle gyms and connecting tiles so I get where the perception comes from.
Tl;dr Dredge is really weird.
Dredge is literally top 5 on midwich zero doubt in my mind

Drop Leg Knife Sheath for Ghosty
Interlocking Razor for Pig
Spit Polish Rag for Slinger
Ring Drawing and Clump Of Hair for Onryo
Ultrasonic Speaker and Stereo Remote Mic for Skully
Bear Oil and Lenghthened Jaws for Trapper
Rope Necklet for Hag
I don't think anybody would notice these becoming basekit aside from bear oil and drop leg knife sheath.

Having hillbilly above ghoul , dracula and jason is an interesting choice.
Outside that its pretty standard
Hillbilly is significantly better than all of those killers.. Billy is pretty much inside of S tier he is just held back by like 5 maps.

That's the thing.
They are rebuilding the game, not fixing it.
It's basically a new game without calling it DbD 2, so all these limitations would go away. If a killer is not walking on walls it'll be by design, not because the game can't handle it. :)Yeah fair point, it would still be really hard to balance.
-
Pretty much all of C-F tier killers could have half of their add-ons basekit (aside from iris) and barely make it into B Tier.
-
These would all be really cool changes if they weren't the best killers in the game. Aside from that walking on walls tends to be buggy, along with the fact that BHVR doesn't like giving killers vertically due to well, more bugs. (RIP Sky Billy)
-
Woah an actually well balanced suggestion in forums. They should be disabled for the first bit of the map if this ever does happen.

Hiding against Jason has historically led to awful results in the movies. Him seeing you doing actions or being inactive (lockers) is completely in character and by no means the strongest part of his kit.
I mainly state this because Hex: Jason is extremely powerful right now, and many new or returning players will not know to not hide in lockers.
-
Clown goes to the very top of B tier
Dredge is bottom of B tier or top of C tier
Doctor should also be moved to bottom of B tier
Top 10 is Nurse Blight Billy Dracula Twins Spirit Singularity Kaneki Vecna 2.0 and Plague but honestly the top 10 is always pretty interchangeable with eachother
The entirety of A tier needs looking at imo nowhere near that amount of killers should be there since most killers nowadays are in B tier or below. That's my personal take on this.

As the guy who asked for this thank you! the effort you put in is astounding! I actually quite enjoy these changes. im a masochist so harder equals more fun and reward!
Didn't need to know that last part..
-
A skin walker has been requested for years but it will likely never happen due to the fact SWF exist and I'm pretty sure that's the sole reason it hasn't been added.
-
Most ranged attacks don't actually line up how you think they do, this is why Deathslinger mains only use the default gun as everything else is misaligned. It is unfortunate how this is complete rng on whether or not its easier to hit your shot though.
-
Remove mist on totems & lockers, remove scrap piles that spawn inside of loops, make omnipresent evil have more interactive counterplay. Aside from that Jason is pretty balanced he just doesn't get punished for playing bad. I do however think we should keep going towards add-ons like Jasons, Vecna 2.0s, and Pyramid Heads, as most if not all are fun to use and strong in their own way allowing for more builds and variety in the long run.
(Anybody know why Jason gets haste btw?)
-
Most of the time you aren't facing an actual coordinated SWF like ever maybe 1 in 50 matches give or take. Either way MMR is built in such a way that you will get lobbies most of your lobbies with people 10x your skill or 10x worse than you. Plus as long as you are still at 60% kill rate ish you're doing fine (if that matters to you)
-
He is mostly balanced just I don't love playing against him because he's extremely low risk and high reward.
-
Something is weird about this post and I can't place my finger on it..
-
I think the only things needing changed are no totem/locker mist, (why does it exist) spread out scrap piles a bit more, and make the counterplay a little more interesting.

Have we forgotten bubba
I mean realistically hot take Jason is better at tunneling than Bubba due to the fact that Bubba needs to be right next to hook in order to snowball off of the tunnel whilst Jason can 2 tap from ranged, or snipe then teleport up.
-
Springtrap has better m1 and chase potential than Jason. However Jason has better stealth and map pressure overall making him better, either way they aren't too similar in practice as they have different playstyles.

If you are referring to Jason, he is overtuned.
Never have I ever seen a killer with THIS much BS mechanics since I started playing in 2018. And that is putting it mildly.Dracula.

Kinda sucks how they cooked Huntress with the update, currently the only thing she has over Jason is her orbitals until people start to master them. cough cough (Coconut RTS)

Sorry didn't know there was a specific way to respond to a post…
Nah there isn't, I just find it really annoying when people constantly turn goofy post and whatnot into "this side is better than this side and we should hate them because they won't let me have my free win." So I typically try to stay away from it whenever possible, and if I don't I attempt to self regulate when I realize its happening. (Which is what my response was.)
I just find Us vs Them really annoying we've had this same conversation for literal years and somehow people haven't gotten bored of it. The game is literally the most balanced and fun its been in a decade and people still find reasons to complain.

I notice some bots are good, meanwhile some seem be a lil special.
Like ive seen a bot be able to hold out in chase, on the other hand sometimes the bot will get hit, waste all of the haste from hit just to go straight down.
Genuinely wonder if its based on hidden metric or something.I've noticed bots are better against certain killers, could just be my experience tho.

Unfortunately?
It's called bad design. And I don't think anyone should defend this atrocious playstyleI said unfortunately simply because the design of the character is out of our control. Aside from that I don't find tunneling much of a problem its just another strategy used to optimise the game. Sure its sweaty but at least that survivor gets to do the most fun part about survivor which is being in chase. Plus luckily nowadays its really hard to tunnel anybody with relatively good looping skills especially due to all of the new buffs to survivor we've gotten as of late.

@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
Currently since his release I'll admit that over 90% of the matches against Jason players involve him camping players on hooks in some form, either sitting in the omnipresent evil and waiting, or pretending to look for someone and then teleport back to the hook he is almost always there to throw something at the unhooked/rescuer in nearly every round. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just on my end?
Because with kaneki he could afford to fly around the map to find someone instantly and either begin chasing them or fly back to the hook as soon as the notification appears, but a ranged killer with high mobility power on a tiny cooldown, it seems very common they tend to not find someone fast enough or just like protecting hooks from afar.
Jason is just one of the best tunnelers in the game unfortunately, so many players lean into it.

I mean.. Its a ranged ability I don't find myself having too much trouble dodging it unless I am just predictable. Other than being unpredictable feel free to leave tips and whatnot for others.

Also, all I ever hear are ragebaiting/gaslighting comments of loop better from people who are for these op builds. How about you chase better because over half of the games I enter are killers who abuse the ping at 100ms….crazy how much crutches you guys need.
What.. people can't even have bad internet anymore. While I do admit it is a bit of a flaw in game design and the fact that a select few people abuse vpns to get 1000-2000+ ping other than that it is simply a problem with the players internet or bad servers.
Edit: I will not be responding any further as I realize this is a post about how Jason is really fun to play (which he is!) and not about Us vs Them killers are op yada yada ect.

@hlambda said:
Yeah let's crouch all day….yawn…spirit of the game dying. The adrenaline rush of taking chase…completely obsolete. Nobody jumps on DBD as a survivor to crouch and hide all day. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. THE COUNTERPLAY = DON'T PLAY….YIKES #########!!!
I never said it was interactive, just meant that there was counterplay and people aren't using it. Many killers aren't too interactive mainly secondary objective ones or killers that force you off of gens. Either way I personally think playing against Jason is still incredibly fun despite the fact that omnipresent evil is built the way it is. Especially since sitting on gens just isn't fun so its not much of a difference in my experience.
-
I'm like 90% sure bots are currently bugged as I will see them fast vault into the locker whilst in LoS of the killer no matter the situation.

@hlambda said:
Each one of those killers you just mentioned does not have an exhaustion add on. Did I complain about those other killers you mentioned…no. ou just admitted that the "counter perks" are useless, so what options do we have if a survivor wants to get away asides from taking damage? You didn't even express what is the counterplay. I can't wait for the nerfs, but seeing how he is p2w, I think we are going to get another Kaneki.
Mintskull made a really good video on Jasons counterplay would definitely recommend. The killers I mentioned were solely based on the fact that you need specific counterplay for them and need to play differently due to that. Because you said:
Forcing survivors to play a specific type of way is ridiculously boring.
And so I listeda few killers with specific counterplay that add more variety to the game. Aside from all of that your options to get away other than taking damage is looping properly..? (Just like every other killer) The main counterplay is crouching however like I stated there is a really good video based on teaching the counterplay..
In case you didn't know the exhaustion add-on is nowhere near as good as people think it is, since as long as you're crouching you do not get affected, then you can use said exhaustion perk to pre-run away.
-
@Yamalive said:
If devs stay true to their recent history, never. Cashgrab must be milked.
What..? Every high tier killer that has been released as of late has been nerfed since their release, multiple times. While Dracula is still top 5 he did receive nerfs, Kaneki has gotten loads of nerfs, Krasue got shot in an alleyway, Vecna 2.0 got some nerfs to make it where he takes skill to use now.
The reason why killers aren't immediately nerfed post release is due to the fact that typically the PTB and public matches play VERY different from eachother. And as we have seen in the past a broken killer in the PTB becomes lackluster after people use and learn counterplay during public matches.
-
Probably gonna be about 2 months before devs have any proper data on him so that is likely when he will receive changes if any at all. Other than that once people actually use his counterplay his kill rate should drop to normal.
-
I don't wanna be a nurse advocate but these changes would likely lose like all of the nurse playerbase lol
-
@hlambda said:
Yeah, I wonder why he has no counterplay? Why don't survivors have an ace up their sleeves? Oh right, because Jason has an ability to deny exhaust get away perks that lasts ungodly amount of time. It feels like Jason always has a spear to throw which funny enough has a velocity that is faster than a hatchet or a gunslinger shot.
Oh yeah lets counter him by taking - Urban Evasion, Calm Spirit…blah blah…all C tier perks….wow so much fun. Forcing survivors to play a specific type of way is ridiculously boring. Limit survivor options, but increase killer options….nice.The exhaustion add-on doesn't work as long as you use the counterplay stop complaining. The spear throw is still very simple to dodge its just a mind game whether or not you get hit, (like most powers) I speak from experience going as and against him. The "counter perks" are pretty useless either way its mainly just for content creators to farm videos saying "YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT [Perk Name] CAN DO!!111!!!1!"
Multiple killers force survivors to play a specific way to counter them, god forbid you learn about killers like Plague, Singularity, Twins, or Sadako, which are some of the few killers that force survivors to play in different way or gasp they can also limit their options. :o
I cannot wait for about a month or so from now where people actually learn the counterplay and ask for buffs.
-
This won't change false accusations of cheating either way.

The last statement is untrue, I've gotten the ghoul, the clown and the plague. But is "Mandy" solo queing? I'm guessing not, which they probably have a squad behind them, which then means they're not fully experiencing the game and have a crutch in hand to help not experience any of the issues I'm running into. You only mentioned ONE DEV, when I said a team of DEVS, as in the devs who added in Jason, every dev is gonna have their own personal opinion and you only heard "Mandy's" opinion when we haven't heard from any other dev who probably don't play the game. But this is how it goes for new killers or so I've heard, they completely buff them and make them OP as heck, but when enough people complain and give negative feedback, that's WHEN THEY LISTEN and FINALLY nerf him, I honestly give it a month or so, when the player count declines because of the broken killer. Then the killer mains are gonna cause an outbreak because they're not gonna have any more easy games or kills. I play both survivor and killer but my god, Jason is so annoying. I know I'm triggering the Jason mains or killer mains but they make this game so killer-sided. It's ridiculous.
The last statement was pretty obviously an over exaggeration obviously you won't go against it every game however it is most definitely the majority of my matches atm. Jason isn't really op he just needs like a nerf to seeing mist on totems, and spread out scrap piles a little more. The reason why I only mentioned one dev is because that is the only one I've seen give a slight opinion on the new killer since it's released. The reason why developers in general especially big companies do not respond to things relating to new updates is because of the fact that no matter how good it is they will receive backlash for zero reason.
I am sorry you are so unhappy. If you seriously cannot deal with Jason's counterplay of crouching get some friends to play with.
