I never really considered him to be an end game killer, but there was an interesting little build you could do with Old Freddy and his perks.

Remember, the most prominent way to wake up against Old Freddy was using skill checks, but at the end game there was no way to force a skill check without being injured (as sabotage did not count). NOED skips the injured state.

Now you would have 5 stacks of Fire Up, 6 of Remember Me and Blood Warden on stand-by.

Using Old Freddy in conjunction with his own perks was never my preferred strategy with him because I strongly believe his power excelled at control, not relying solely on the end game. But he had far more synergy with his perks back then than he does now.

    EDIT: Here is a demonstration:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVXbnrgVZlU

Yeah that was the thing his perks worked with him since it sorta worked his power. The reason why it's does work now is because of how his power is now I would suggest BHVR should have looked into his perks and altered them so they would at least match his power in some way.

There is not. BHVR saves your data on their own backend database servers. Nothing is saved on your end.

Why do you wanna delete you save data? I'm more asking out of curiosity then anything else.

Judging by that, wouldn't Freddy be an end game killer? That doesn't really work though because he literally loses his entire power against anyone with Adrenaline. No more teleports and Adrenaline wakes you up, so snares / dream pallets don't work either.

His perks didn't change but his power did before his rework he more then likely was an end game killer I say was since a it was a while ago and I thought holding down the power button made survivors go to sleep faster in reality I don't think it did.

  • @Xernoton said:

So how do you want a Skull Merchant to play...

    Not use her drones???

Or put them in bad spots???

Like I have seen other people complain about players playing her that way

If you look at her original perks aka the thing that shows what kind of role the character has two out of three work when in chase the other outside of chase to apply pressure. She is a chase killer. Her drones are ment to shut down loops just like Knights gaurds they shut down loops.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Putting something on the ground (or in the air) and it just staying there was never meant to be "chase killer"

Trapper, Hag, Knight..., why would you like to chase if your weapon is on the ground? It was so obvious

they made her even more impossible to react back when they changed the delay before she was able to attack after blinking with the argument of making her better to play as- OF COURSE ITS BETTER - BUT THEY ALSO BUFFED HER WITH THAT.

before it took 0.2 - 0.5 seconds (not sure how much exactly but it used to be delayed) after blinking to be able to lunge / swing.

Now is just instant as soon as you land the blink , which as you can imagine since the killer side has priority over hits , on your screen results on the feeling of getting instant smack by her each time shes still on the blink animation because on her screen she already hit you.

I won't lie I feel like they should change it to where it's a sorta window after the finishing blink where she can hit since it gives the survivor at least a chance to react.

  • Been having her all night and people still do the usually three gen tactic which fun fact gets extremely boring since I know she can have potential and is a chase killer instead of gen oriented.

9- Now, don't tempt me with a good time. I have no words to describe how much I miss my all-time favorite killer.

This is mostly just a way of saying yeah I really hate how some players play skull merchant she's a good killer if you use her right. I was close to winning a match with putting drones on gens instead using them for chase when all of sudden boom server crash.

The greater crime here is Dramaturgy getting disabled. Gosh-darn game banning fun.

I think it's more because the fact that getting an item from it is random so they would have to temporarily update the perk to remove the chance of getting flashlights. Until the next update so it's basically update the game and change very little to maybe one perk and few quick minor things or disable it while working on the more major bugs aka the flashlight bug.

  • @Mooks said:

we don’t know everything about the game yet!

it seems like it’s gonna be a complete new cast so unlikely to see familiar faces. Though maybe there will still be sections featuring some of them(?), maybe not. There will be references to DbD to some degree - we already see a meathook in the trailer for example.

as to survive or telltale also not know yet. Though i would assume it’s in the spirit of other Supermassive games? (I have only seen Until Dawn and The Quarry yet)

Well since it's from supermassive games we won't have the telltale trope of your choice actually never mattered plus only supermassive game I played was Until Dawn. Though I have played Detroit become human and Heavy rain though I forget if it's the same company so if they go down the way of multiple endings and that your actions will actually matter I'm more then happy.

  • If I remember it was a typo because original since going by both word of mouth and memory on stuff like Steam grind achievements were higher no idea why. So when Huntress came out she was 20 downs on Steam and was supposed to be 10 due to the game not having a big player base on playstation at the time but what happened was BHVR made a typo which caused it to be 100 so in the end it became 100 downs while its a bit easier to do now because Cross-play it still should be fixed in some way since it was a typo they haven't fixed. Your probably better off not focusing on the achievement and just have it randomly pop one day while playing.

Honestly the best way to do this challenge I found is just to abandon trying to flashlight save a survivor and just follow them to the hook and blind the killer while they're hooking. The killer is still considered to be carrying the survivor while they hook so you can get the challenge done very easily that way. You can also throw on background player to guarantee you get a good angle at the hook to be able to blind.

Trying to do flashlight saves just took too long and doing hook blinds was an instant challenge done.

The problem is nit trying to throw the match either.

  • @Dito175 said:

Agreed, once is enough of a challenge or make it to be able to do on multiple matches, its the only challenge remaining and its just going to stay there

That's the thing I don't mind doing blinding challenges when it's like blind the killer 10 times and it doesn't say while they carry someone because I don't have to throw a match instead flashlight or maybe a few blinding perks then just play the match normally I might not win but I'm not throwing the match.

I would rather blame BHVR's dumb Challenge design philosophy for survivors, like killers can have some rough ones, but Survivor ones tend to just suck.

Half they time they border on just asking too much, like this one, or throwing the game essentially, like the typical cleanse 10+ totems.

Dont even get me started on the Glyphs, Green ones can burn in a fire.

You are correct okay let's say they wanted to make another blind the killer while they carrying someone. Just pull the background player route have it he once with X perk or you have to do this afterwards.

  • @Hunkulese said:

It's a challenge. A challenge. It's level four and skippable. Just bring a flashlight and try and learn how they work.

I know how a flashlight works. The problem is the killer will start checking the area if they realize a person is flashlight saving.

  • @TMCalypso said:

Just a random thought, but what if...instead of having the person using no mither be permanently broken, they are instead permanently exposed? Same effect, but it isn't immediately known to the killer at the start of the game.

They spawn when any gen is completed, but other survivors can eat them.

That is really is just not good to add I mean no other glyph does that why make it more of task to basically have to have gens be repaired only to realize it's not worth it because Feng decided to take it. Or have it be that you don't gain the BP because you didn't interact with it but you gain the progress.

  • Yeah I mean MFT only deactivates when Exhausted so most survivors don't run Exhausted perks plus killer perks that cause the effect don't really make it last long minus Blood Echo plus to easily to counter Blood Echo they would use Vigil. Now I'll make a comparison to Hope. Hope gives the same effect as MFT but it only actives when exit gates are powered.

Down side they weren't crawling to me. Still it's one of those things where if I leave my teammates get mad because I didn't bother helping them when it's that I can't do anything predicament I was close to leaving since he opened the exit gates and picked someone up so I thought he has Blood Warden

  • @Annso_x said:

Besides the people tbagging who are just bragging, here's a few reasons why survivors don't immediately leave:.

    - Someone is on hook or downed so the game isn't over

    - A survivor is injured and they don't know if they're safe (they're waiting for them to join them at the gates, get healed or exit through the other gates)

    - Killer has NOED and not all survivors are here (same reasons as before, they're waiting to make sure everyone is safe)

    - They're gaining time because a survivor is opening the other gate or healing or whatever

    - A survivor is in chase so you wait to make sure they get out safely, or so you can take hits and bodyblock if needed

You see that part I get last minute healing or quick reinsurance that everyone is safe but it's more those who just stand there.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/396859/soloq-just-makes-me-want-to-pull-my-hair-out

Those teammates are probably thinking that they got hit with the bad matchmaking. They got a teammate running around trying to sabotage hooks instead of doing gens. If they are trying to win then they probably feel like they are being screwed over by some random just goofing off. If they got hooked then they are probably wondering why someone is saboing to begin with.

I'm not directing this right towards you. You may have been doing gens and just trying for the hook sabo in between. In general though it's what it can feel like playing with people who are trying to do the challenges. It isn't any players fault either. It's a problem of there being only one game mode that mixes in ranked and casual players. Throw on top of that the fact that the challenges pull survivors off the main objective and it often leads to a loss.

I won't lie if I get these challenges I bring the game map offering since two floors is easier for me to complete it but I mean I feel like what they could implement is a ring for challenges that require being in a certain distance. For example hiding 10 meters from the killer now I know what 10 meters is in real life but in game I see it as its how fast the killer moves but I still get confused so adding a ring only you can see can be really helpfully to remove this problem as that way your not wasting time.

I really don't get why people get so nervous around P100s. It doesn't necessarily mean they're the gods of DBD. True, chances are they are more likely to be good rather than bad, but still, I've faced P100s which I've downed easily while having a P1 looping me for the whole match.

I'd be more scared about a suspiciously SWF-looking lobby.

Well remember a lot of people get that nervous feeling in games with rank matches seeing a Dimond Platinum mega champion rank can still be a little off putting even if the person is terrible at the game. Then again this is coming from someone who doesn't play rank matches because people get way WAY to competitive.

  • @Pulsar said:

Once again, hide Prestiges or people will keep dodging.

Yet no one does. I won't lie the new prestige level thing wasn't a full on good idea. Players get intimated by those big numbers I get it was a way of having players spend BP for a reason but I mean 100 tiers? Really? You only get rewards up until tier 9 so the last 91 levels aren't worth it other then saying look my emblem changed by a small amount.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Your not enjoying playing against SWF because your sole goal is to win or 4k whatever you deem a victory.

There are also survivors that like to win most of their matches too. Whether they're solo or a group is irrelevant.

You can't expect to win match after match with players with obvious less skill than you consistently do you?

PS: Don't worry about rank rest cause that doesn't exist anymore.

My goal is just wanting to enjoy the game when I first started playing it in 2018.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I had to slug this Kate last match. She had Boil Over and kept running to the part of the map with no hooks. She brought it on herself.

I mean fair enough if it's boil over they decided "I'm going to just go to a high spot or map corner" then that's a simple pass since it's basically using a perk to a extreme disadvantage to the killer I mean I get the point is you gain some progress if the killer falls from a height but I won't lie if your not doing a bully thing the perk really is just bad.

Just wait for her to die and go for hatch, you're gonna basically going to lose anyways unless Zarina is a GOD tier looper

I can't because any time I've done that my teammates decide to basically play with the killer and kill me because "I didn't help"

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Because for some reason some Killers think that if they dont 4K, they dont win. And it does not even matter how many Gens have been done, a Killer can get a 3K with 0 Gens done, yet some will still slug, because they cannot bear the thought that the one Survivor might get a pity escape with the Hatch. (And it is quite clear that the Killer won and the Survivor, despite escaping, clearly did not win)

A few years ago, even before closing the Hatch was a thing, I said the Killer should just get full BPs and Emblems when the last Survivor escapes via Hatch. Sure, there will still be some Killers that will still slug for the 4K, because they would not be able to sleep at night if a Survivor might escape. But if there would be no loss in BPs or Emblems, the majority will probably not slug. (From those who slug currently, IMO the vast majority of Killer players dont slug for the 4K)

You know my brother said once "If a killer doesn't get a 3 or 4k then they automatically lose" I gave him the response of "that isn't how it works the match result tells you how you did as long as you don't get Entity Displeased(it was a while ago) then you won" even then if that's the killer's rule of winning to him then wouldn't the survivor win be that three or four escape be a win. Answer no in Solo q if you escaped you won with SWF I mean it really depends on how many you are and such. But in the end who cares you get one or two kills as long as you at least tried and worked hard for it then you won.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/395699/okay-i-seriously-why-do-people-slug

I read that twice and can't follow the story. In full disclosure, I am under the influence. Can you just give me a more simple wall of text? Smaller and to the point?

Basically why do killers slug with two people left and one gen is remaining all at 0% since most if not all times a survivor will hide in the corner of a map and just wait for their teammate to bleed out. Basically just making the match way longer then it needs to be. The reason why the post is so long is because I was trying to not make a super whiney post also because I was just bored and thinking Bob Ross.

  • I would take the deal I get there stuff like Hope which gives a speed boost when not injured but that's also at the very end of a match plus I won't lie I think MFT really makes hit detection wonky even though on my screen I connected the hit but somehow it misses and the survivor gains distance.

Don't make the matches worse to compensate, because that fun factor isn't going to go away. It's just kicking the can down the road.

You see my smart fellow the game hates me and decides that I must face killers who seem to have no eyes when I flashlight blind them as they for some reason just don't get blinded because both accuracy being very weird as it's 3rd person while first person or behind the survivor in 3rd beside would work better as I aim better since FPS usually go behind the back that way your still in the middle. But I get that it's supposed to assist at 'locating' where the survivor is but I mean I am seriously all for a button that just turns down the volume of the survivor screams or just mutes them for just you so that way you don't have the police called on you or have anyone wake up in the middle of the night because Rebecca decided to suck helium before being hooked.
