Not really. Using Soul Guard that way still has the same issue as Boon: Exponential.
The Killer can hear the boon, which would make them suspicious. It’s sort of like No Mither the giveaway means you’d rarely get to use it.
Unless you’re slugged a super long time and can crawl to a boon away from where you were downed, but at that point the time efficiency is still in the Killer’s favor

They were way, way too heavy handed with the Slinger nerfs. BHVR has a real problem with nerfing killers into uselessness. Billy, Freddy, and now Slinger are all bottom tier. It makes me worried that they'll take strong, fun to play killers like Oni and Blight and nerf them into the ground.
Billy and Freddy were barely nerfed in their base kit.
The nerfs just prove how reliant they were on their best addons to do well.

Be good with the knives and proxy camp like Bubba. Trickster is amazing at forcing hook states and kills because he's a nightmare to save against.

This isn’t new information? It’s been public knowledge since they first came into the game. NOED activates on a DULL totem, a Boon totem isn’t dull.
If there are still dulls in the trial, No ED can select a Boon totem, which effectively means it never activates.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/292856/why-are-killer-queues-so-long
Current ratio of survivors to killers, your server location, time of day, your mmr rating; there are plenty of variables to consider.
Killer queues are bad unless its very late at night and have been since MMR
-
Boons stack because the Devs had to make a mechanic to allow Survivors to equip multiple boon perks. And make the maximum amount of boons active at the same time under 5
-
My Survivor queues have been shorter with MMR queues and my Killer queues have been longer.
That’s all imma say
-
Make gens slowdown by 10% while a Survivor is hooked. Make BT a base mechanic.
-
who heals other people with med-kits?

i love jolt too, its mainly just an issue of if the Killer im running can actually use it since the perk doesn't work with special attacks

Yeah, but never introducing anything at the power level of what already exists isn’t exactly furthering the development of the game

I don't personally like boon totems as 1. It exists with a very broken perk that will be abused by the players who use it and 2. Perks like ruin and devour become useless when the survivor blesses the totem with the hex on it, I believe hexs should be brought back after breaking the boon but someones probably already gone over that and its not what this post is about
I like the perk for only one good reason, survivors can complain that not all four meta perks can't be run along side this perk, giving up a bt ds or adrenaline and it shakes up your matches for better or for worse. If BHVR made this perk for a meta change they got what they wanted but I hate it, survivors just run to the boon whenever there hit and heal over and over again and sometimes I just have to tunnel regardless of it being scummy because its impossible to snowball otherwise
If next update brings a killer perk that changes the meta I'll be thrilled to have some variety with my matches with and against killer. Obviously everyone's got opinions but I think we just need something to change what killers bring because all it is atm its just Ruin, tinkerer, Undying, Corrupt intervention, or at least that's what I'm getting
Something fun I wouldn't mind but as someone who's a killer main this game can be boring after the same match's over and over again and if I was to try a build or have fun I get punished for it. Just my opinion and your all entitled to your own
DEADLOCK IS A META PERK. ITS GREAT WITH CORRUPT AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO RUIN/UNDYING ON LOW MOBILITY KILLERS

No he definitely is not the best base 115% that belongs to a killer like Bubba or Pyramid head.
M1 Killer means a Killer that cannot down with their power and has to literally M1 for every down
-
Doctor is a weird case because he’s probably the strongest 115% M1 Killer in the game.
115% M1 Killers are just bad. Especially at high ranks

As long as you're having a good time? I prefer something that actually feels like playing a game rather than standing in front of hooks for minutes on end but you do you

Just like feeling in control of the match as Killer personal preference

What would make it a good standalone perk that can synergize with other Scourge Perks?
just give Agitation or Iron Grasp the additional effect

Make a Scourge Perk that does that.
no one would use it. thats not good enough for a standalone perk

There's only a global sound letting everyone know a totem was blessed. The killer has no idea where the boon totem is.
Boon totems do make a sound if the killer gets closed to one, but it's not like the killer has any idea where to check unless he's already nearby.
Killers can see the Auras of their hexes and generally note their locations at the start of the match.
It’s not gonna be a super big mystery of where your boon is if their hex goes. They should already have memorized its location

I'm saying this is absolutely nothing like Inner Strength.
Not true. The perks are different, yes, Inner Strength is more time efficient but limited in its uses.
But they’re both healing perks that rely on Survivors knowing totem spawns. One is just more useful in fast paced games while the other is more useful in drawn out games.

In a war of attrition, the killer will lose if the survivors have infinite healing.
If you repair a gen 10%, it takes 40 seconds for it to regress after being kicked. That's enough time to run to circle of healing, heal for 16 seconds, then go back to the gen and stop regression.
If multiple survivors are still alive, the killer will lose eventually. If the killer goes to cleanse the totem, the other survivors are now free to pressure gens while the killer wastes time.
so you’re saying circle of healing is potential counterplay to the most boring strategy in the game?
-

If the killer wastes time going to the opposite side of the map to find and snuff a totem, he's not pressuring gens.
if your boon is miles away from the generators the Killer wants to protect. you’re wasting an awful lot of time to walk to it every time to heal

not really worse than self-care, they both take 32 seconds assuming it's no hex : thrill of the hunt, or the totem is a hex. It benefits other survivors which is big.
blessing a hex isn’t actually that good. it takes 50% longer and tells the Killer where your Boon is so they can snuff it
-
@WTBacon said:
Like Inner Strength, it also gives infinite self-care and 100% healing to all survivors in a small area around it, and can be used an infinite amount of times as long as the Totem stands.
Blessing takes 16 seconds, healing takes 16 seconds. On top of the time to find the totem. The perk only becomes high value if it stands for more than one heal or if teammates also use it.
If you’re getting a single heal and its getting snuffed, its worse than self-care or inner strength. So its a bit risky
-
@SasukeKun said:
So 1 person can't even choose where the hex spawns but we gonna let another 4 just run her perks and bless all the totems over and over? How is that balanced? It's not even comparable to hex's and if anything Killers should be the ones allowed to "Curse" totems and use the perk. Exactly like Mikaela, all her perks are just busted new bailouts imo
Hexes are map wide auto-set and forget perks
Boons are short range buildable perks with set up time.
Aside from both using totems Boons and Hexes don’t have a lot in common.

It probably has something to do with Survivors being a uniform group and Killers all being unique.
Nerf one Killer perk/mechanic and it will have disproportionate impacts on the roster. Buff one Killer perk/mechanics and it will also have disproportionate impacts on the roster.
In this patch, for example, if you’re a Ghost Face or Trapper main its a buff. But if you’re a Slinger or Spirit main its a nerf. Some Killers thrive while other suffer. Every patch forever.

Remove the i-Frames. Give it slightly more distance.
That way it's no longer a complete second chance perk, while maintaining it's strength to avoid a hit.
You can still dodge projectiles even without i-Frames.
The strength of Dead Hard against projectile Killers is that you can use your i-frames to get through choke points like doorways where it would normally be impossible to dodge a shot.
Dead Harding to avoid the hit by moving out of the way instead of going through a doorway because the i-frames have been removed would be largely useless because the Killer would catch up with you anyway.

Borrowed Time buff, made it standard in every build. There's literally no counter for it, and no downfall to running it. It guarantees safe unhooks, bp, and emblem points regardless you're own skill, or if you are just farming your team / making unsafe saves.
Borrowed Time was already incredibly popular. It was a weird buff because it helped but it was already popular so I bet the usage hardly changed.
People who loved BT before the buff loved it after. People who weren’t into it before weren’t into it after
-
The easiest nerf would be that Iron Will only works for a certain amount of time after being injured. So its still helpful but doesn't encourage high MMR people to stay injured the entire game

Maybe you get an indicator status effect like the cursed effect for survs once you experience the effect of the Boon as killer.
and boon totems might get revealed like Hex:Plaything. The killer sees the aura of the boon totem when around x meters of it.
Yeah. That would work too. the Killer will need some type of Aura reading mechanic to help find it. Killers just don’t have enough time in a match to look for a totem they can’t see

So, thrilling tremors but better?
That's like comparing BBQ with Corrupt Intervention.
One is pure information the other is pure slowdown.

So, thrilling tremors but better?
Thrilling Tremors is budget BBQ that's mainly for information and rarely blocks crucial gens. This is an actual slowdown perk.
Mechanically similar with entity blocking but their uses would be the exact opposite
-
Prioritize gens and bring Kindred to help with saves. You don’t have to be a great looper to be a great Survivor just optimize your team well.
Play the game with purpose. Never be wandering around

I mean its an extremely simple four note pattern.

Something you're forgetting: The chains force slowdown if the Survivors ignore the box, and a Survivor typically has to be taking care of the box in some way so their team can reliably do gens.
I would say that, while a Survivor can hold the box, they get punished for doing so. Chain Hunt WILL reveal them if they try to hide, the chains will fly at them and reveal where they're hiding, and chai hunt will ALSO slow the Survivor down for injures and downs. A Survivor who holds the box mid-chase runs the risk of being in a constant disadvantage. Even if they dodge the chain hunt, a simple perfectly placed, random chain can be enough to force the Survivor into getting hit.
You're also forgetting that if you down a Survivor holding the box it immediately activates a chain hunt and reveals all the other Survivors locations.
Which doubles your map pressure because one Survivor has to save, while another has to get the Box to stop the ongoing chain hunt.

It's worse than a stock clown bottle. That's a fact. Clown bottles don't slow you, make you stop, and actually slow the survivors for 3+ seconds if you hit them directly or zone them into the cloud. And that's not counting add-ons. And you are hard-pressed to miss them unless you are going for max range shots beyond geometry. Use an Iri to make chains damage people? Pinky finger insta-downs.
I don't care he can teleport around or gets an RNG slowdown. All I care about is his chase power; and it's worse than clowns. Pig gets literal RNG Mori's and I still consider her a terrible killer.
He's definitely better than Clown mainly because his power forces slow vaults (not medium vaults) and prevents dead hard. His chains also have a longer duration than Clown's slow.
Also, people really overrate the cast time on his power. If you play him like Nurse/Deathslinger and insta-cast instead of taking time to aim it has much less counterplay and a much shorter animation. Accuracy and animation canceling totally matter with him you can seriously minimize it with a precise blink and quick scope.

I think it's hilarious people will call this guy high tier. There's only 1 thing that really matters in DBD, and that's getting fast downs. Everything else is secondary. You need to find people and down them immediately, and this guy sucks at it. What's better, gaining ~10 seconds through passive slowdown and needing 60+ seconds to down someone; or just downing someone in 10 seconds? I wonder......
A full two health state chase with Pinhead with plenty of resources on the map for the Survivor using just his anti-loop is 30-50 seconds. At least in my experience.

Yet pig is like really bad...
He's like Pig with automated Bear Traps that activate all game that Survivors have to disarm and Freddy Snares for anti-loop with occasional teleportation.
Basically taking the best parts of two mid/low tier Killers and putting them in a single Killer to make something mid/high tier.
-
@Zeidoktor said:
My comparison went to Freddy, given the ongoing gauge that triggers their power stopped temporarily by the puzzle box/alarm clock combined with the ability to teleport under certain conditions and chains/snares that serve to allow down fleeing survivors.
Pinhead's Box is probably most similar to Pig's Bear Traps, but yes, his anti-loop and teleportation have similarities to Freddy.

It's a problem with killer balance that awful matchmaking has masked for years. Four meta survivors are not losing to an equally skilled low tier killer on most maps if they play well. It's not happening unless they make huge mistakes.
The best Clown/Trapper/Legion/Pig/Myers/Ghostface/etc is walking away with a 2k at most against 4 optimal survivors.
And that 2k is only with camping lol
-
@Kebek said:
Good killers in skill or in using good killers ?
Because even if you're the most skilled killer in DBD, you're losing to good, not even amazing SWF if you're playing lowist tier killer like clown.
That's just how DBD is, skill is not as important as having all the advantages beforehand.
I think MMR will actually fix the balance issues with weaker Killers because their MMR will naturally be lower because they perform worse against better Survivors.
So eventually high MMR games will only have the stronger Killers on the roster because things like Clown can’t realistically even attain high MMR
-
@tester said:
"when you get stomped" + "FIXED THE BALANCE"
Do you see anything wrong with mentioning those 2 in one post? If not, than I'm sorry...
My point is that they took away any downsides from being stomped. It doesn't really matter anymore. If anything it just gives you better matches in the future because of MMR

The one that debunks this concern is Clown. He LITERALLY just got his big rework and he also has this power meter bug
I wouldn't surprise me if the Devs are looking at reworking clown again. His recent rework was a pretty big failure and he still needs more.
