Haha, getting ran around for 5 gens, what kind of idiot killer lets that happen...

Nurse isn't real, she's just a bug in reality

Honestly.
Like, let people use whatever perks they wanna use, without having the need to call them out for it.
People want to complain, that'll never stop. Plus they need something to blame for their lack of skills or apparent failures in a match.

When I whiffed, the survivor was right in front of me... had to mori him to erase the stain on my honor.

How silly it may sound, how true it actually is.
You should watch the posts about the reaction to keys and ds, it is so hilarious 😂
Yeah, though to be fair the mori nerf was pretty bad timing on BHVR's part. Not sure why they couldn't have made the key and mori changes a packaged deal.

Disagree. I run it on dr and it usually stays active long enough to get one or two kills.
Sometimes u get bad rng but not that often
Thing is, it's RNG, what you get out of it isn't what someone else got out of it.
Most the time the totem spots I come across are ok, not too out in the open. But close enough to a gen to know it'll be found decently soon.
But the one spot I love to get with good rng, is one in lerys, where the totem is in a box facing the wall.

Not sure any decent killer ever said ruin is useless. It's still a good perk without undying.
That was more around when the ruin rework came out, but people eventually came around to it.
It is good, but it suffers from what all totems suffer from, bad RNG. Meaning it could spawn right next to a survivor.

I uhh, I don't know how to tell you this bud. But she's been bugged for a while now on certain maps.

I'll play devils advocate here, should they do it?
They're all different teams, the team who works on bugs are not the same people who work on content. The only positive will be that bug fix team can play catch up until the next release. Plus, bug fix team isn't getting any bigger, it's not like they'd move people from other teams to the bug fix one.
What they should do is hire more people for bug fix team, that way more people are there fixing the bugs, while the rest of the company goes on as usual.

@MandyTalk I'm pretty sure they're referring to the bug where supposedly Devour Hope requires the victim to be on stage 2 of their hook cycle.
And this makes sense to me on one front:
Devour Hope moris seem to be treated as Ebony Moris, judging from the fact that the Ebony Mori icon appears over a Survivor when I go to mori them with Devour Hope, even when no Mori offering is used.
Weird bug, makes sense the game would apply it to devour hope. Let's hope they fix it soon.

Agreed, most reworked maps more or less killed those sneaky trapps with trapper because of this stupid grass.
Autohaven and Macmillan were my favourite trapper maps :(
I wish the ground textures had more debris in them, it just looks like dirt or mud.
At the very least adding debris would give some slight character to the ground. It's wierd not seeing any leaves on the ground when the map is covered with trees.
-
@Slashstreetboy said:
As someone who "mains" Trapper I kinda disagree. Trap placement oppurtunities have shifted in certain areas, but the overall gameplay hasn´t changed a tad for me. Still rank 1, still killing it with Trapper.
It was right to gradually patch out the invisible trap spots (although they were very funny) but there are new spots where traps can be at least partially hidden.
The bugs will hopefully one day be patched out and exit gates can be trapped again.
The biggest detriment with the reworked maps are the Autohaven jungle gyms. They have walls so short it´s so ez to see a tall Killer over, that the survivor has to be seriously unattentive to get hit there before entity blocker, especially considering that certain walls are now see-through (not even accounting for stretch res gamers who can almost watch your feet over the wall at these locations).
I know it doesn't really affect his ability to cut off loops, but it does make them more visible with the clearer ground textures on the reworked maps.
-
It would be awesome, but then people would complain that it doesn't line up with the lore. The lore states that you still physically interact with the world when in the spirit world.
I personally think it would be awesome, but I dread the incoming posts of people complaining "ThE lOrE iS iNcOnSiStEnT"

Oh sounds fun :D
I don't play trapper but when I played against, they didn't have trouble by laying traps on patches of grass or choke points on the map. But I think the issues might be better addressed by changing the trapper, not the maps.
The issue is that there is nothing beyond the grass to help obscure the traps on the new maps
On the old maps there were bright leaves and other debris in the textures to slightly hide the trap more.
-
@lagosta said:
How did you manage to put Suzy and Daddy Myers in the same match?
Found a picture on Google just to showcase the ground textures, but that was when you could glitch the game out and get two killers in a match.

pretty sure the gifts you’re talking about were actually the exclusive cosmetics they gave out (like purple pants claudette, Brazilian claudette, street meg, golden feng, etc.)
doesnt really change anything because the event is a simple copy and paste, just wanted to let you know
There was no event to go along with those "gifts", they gave those out because people were tired of exclusives.

Bro they can't change anything in this game without creating 50 new bugs. Not an excuse, but it must be harder than hitting CTRL V
Most of their time is spent fixing bugs, seems like they can't focus on quality because of that. Judging by recent events BHVR is in desperate need of a quality assurance team.

I'm not exactly sure what's so hard to just copy&paste the previous event and maybe add a few days of double bloodpoints?
Would love to see an explanation from a dev.
They could at least give us a themed main menu with event music.
Sadly it doesn't seem like they aren't even capable of that.

I thought we were getting 10k BP only during the first week and then it would get better. Guess I shouldn't have expected anything.
You can't even have low expectations with BHVR, they'll still disappoint you.

I see. The code will be a slight annoyance, but I don’t think it’s as bad as op makes it look.
Frosty eyes is a yearly tradition BHVR does for all original killers. They are now locking that behind a code, which means that people will either miss out on it completely, or have to purchase it.
They could have literally just given them to us. But they are instead using them to pad the lackluster advent calendar.

In the previous years you would get the frosty eyes at the start of the winter event but now you have to wait for them to unlock them and looks like a cheap way to make the advent calendar look good
Even for a downgraded event this is bad.

You get the Frosty Eyes by entering a Code. And I guess they are purchaseable in the Shop at a later date.
But before, we got them for Login. I dont like this change at all.
So if people miss this they'll have to pay for frosty eyes?
Jesus christ, my expectations were low but BHVR continually finds ways to disappoint.

Sigh
I'll try not to spend it all in one place. At least they booted up the Iri shards back to 1,000.
I didn't expect a lot for this downgraded event. But even then, BHVR finds a way to disappoint us further.
Plus the fact they're trying to act like frosty eyes, the thing they used to just outright give us, is special event loot.
Guess they just had to pad this [BAD WORD]show.
But don't worry guys, the rewards will definitely get better :)

The tight fence corridors on haddonfield can be death traps for survivors. They're essentially areas for easy hits. The houses will always suck for most killers though.
Lery's outer hallways work great with Blights power, the inner hallways not so much. So use your power in the inner hallways only if you know you can make the hit.
The games upstairs area is a great area. The downstairs sucks for blights, unless you get certain tiles that allow for long corridors in them. It follows the same advice for the inner corridors of lerys, only use your lethal rush if you know you can make the hit.
Indoor maps will always suck for blight. So most of the time you'll be doomed to m1 gameplay unless you're very good with controlling his power.
-
Why do people simp for old freddy? He was so bad he had his own tier in tier lists. literally called "freddy tier"
Even when I tried him before he was changed he felt horrible. You couldn't hit people before you put them to sleep, allowing them time to make it to a loop. Even the slowdown given by sleeping survivors could be taken away by simply waking up.
-
Totems are a gamble as is, requiring a hex perk ( which is already a gamble within itself ) to be able to protect yourself from horrible RNG. Even then, rng can just spawn your undying right next to a survivor.
Plus the whole reason their is a "cleanse" animation lorewise, is to prevent the character from being cursed.
So unless their are HEAVY downsides to it, this is a no go.

I was fortunate enough to not encounter any hackers for 50 games+ (at least none that I noticed). I consider this a very impressive streak.
I hope one day the DEVs will invest into some sort of anti cheating software to protect the game and the players. As of now, the only way to expose and prosecute hackers is through video evidence provided by the victim.
Consider yourself lucky
I think they already use an anti cheat system, but it obviously doesn't work.

Solid Counterplay
It works a lot more than it really should, I'm still trying not to get my ankles broken while playing blight.
-
Expecting a framerate higher than 15 on DBD? Heh, that's a joke within itself.
I'm still waiting for the 60fps that was promised to ALL consoles over 2 years ago.
-
The exit gate thing, I can't really be mad at the killer for. It's a good strategy for the twins when the survivors have done all the gens.
However, you got caught by victor, and didn't try to remove him before exiting. That is entirely your fault.
You could have snuck up on him while they were switching, kicked him. Then opened it. Again, entirely your fault you didn't try to play around it.

Right now, I consider a solo lobby a free 4k. That really should tell you everything you need to know about solo que.
It's not that solo que is bad, it's just that you're good compared to them, red ranks is a hodgepodge of a lot of different skill levels. You happen to be on the upper end of that scale.
Plus I think you missed the part where I say the terrible ranking and matchmaking are a huge part of why solo que sucks.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
The problem with Solo Que is I can be the very best (like no one ever was) at DBD but even if it's just a tiny bit, you almost have to rely on your team in some capacity. I can only do so much on my own and I swear the people I get put in with are people who have never played the game before :D
I've come to just accept that I'm going to have potato teammates and expect to be killed each game. If they surprise me, then awesome!
Like i said, poor teammates usually comes down to the extremely bad ranking and matchmaking system.
I'm pretty sure red ranks has the largest variation in skill across all the ranks. You can either be paired with the best teammates you've ever had. Or people who play like rank 20's.

I never understood, why they would choose questions, they can´t answer. It would be different, if the questions came from the chat during a live stream. But those questions are chosen and were cleared before the stream even starts.
We choose the questions that have the most upvotes. We made this change after the feedback we received on these forums about only answering certain questions and not the ones that the Community wanted answered. We make very clear that some things can't be discussed, such as upcoming changes/content etc...but then when we don't pick those questions, we're accused of "cherry picking" - that's why we made the decision to use the questions with the most upvotes
Well... so they just lied to our faces
-
Not too good, looked low quality. But you get used to it.
Plus it used to be easier to see across the map, I kind of miss those days
-
@NomiNomad said:
Nah. I had a question about it for the QnA, and I believe it was number two in all of the questions in terms of upvotes.
They didn't answer it, which leads me to believe it's nowhere near ready yet.
Or, just like Elden Ring, it doesn't exist.
Didn't the devs say they don't hand pick questions, and instead go off of votes?
If so this outright proves they lied to us.
-
Nope, they ignored questions about it in the last QnA, despite those being the most highly rated questions.
-
People already say they need an extra week in the rift because there's just a week of nothing in between the previous and the next. Plus, who's to say it will push the next rift back a week?

Sounds decently interesting, it would be absolute hell to balance though.
And we're already aware how BHVR makes... interesting choices in balance.
-
That's an issue I've noticed on the reworked maps. The collision is inconsistent as all [BAD WORD].
But even before the rework ormond sucked for blight.
Overall they either need to do something with blights collision itself, or the objects hitboxes.

That's the whole point of tech. They're things that are usually not intended by the devs, and they're things the community finds and adopts into their gameplay. It's what I like the most about a lot of games, and it's what gives games a lot of player expression and depth which is something DbD is severely lacking. I'm not a fan of developers seeing tech and then removing it from their game (*COUGH* OVERWATCH *COUGH*), or better yet, replacing it with something that's a neutered and worse version of the tech that was originally discovered which is something I think BHVR would do.
Sorry if this is a rant-ey paragraph to your response but I'm very passionate about stuff like this in games and Blight is the only character in this game that has things to actually learn.
Look, no one should have to have speed-runner like reflexes just to pull off a something that should be a quality of life change.
The timing is so exact that I've only pulled it off maybe five times tops, even then how useful it as with that timing is questionable.
If it was made an official thing he could do, blight would be made more dangerous at close range.
-
@ALostPuppy said:
I think I'd rather it remain a hard tech that you'd have to learn and practice instead of it being something you could easily do. It's what DbD is missing, and what little bits of difficult tech we find aren't useful in the slightest. This one is quite situational but it's actually useful.
I don't think this tech is actually supposed to be able happen, but like I said, having it added in an official capacity would be cool.
