People said "stay positive" for past updates too...
-
They said it'll take some time to get the key change through, knowing them it'll be 4 - 6 months
-
Don't encourage them
-
And yet survivors can still use theirs :/

The release statement though has mention of 'noteworthy' changes happening the bugfix. Mori's are not mentioned there. Which means the communication has a kink in it. Either the devs didn't think it was noteworth (which seems unlikely), or it was an oversight (possible), or they where trying to obfuscate the impact.
Look in the features section, I just read the notes and it is in there.
-
Nothing, but the concerns are that the character will be centered around their orientation, instead of being a well rounded personality.
Plus BHVR doesn't have a good track record of implementation. So people are skeptical of them implementing an LGBT character.

Apparently through Mori's getting nerfed was not a noteworthy enough change to mention in this release. They are still trying to obfuscate things.
It's in the patch notes, specifically at the very top with the rest of the notable changes.
This discussion is about the release statement, not the patch notes.

They also made a statement regarding the Halloween event with the announcement of the advent calendar though.
but I agree there is always room for improvement, and the current statement is very much appreciated
The only thing they said in the announcement of the advent calendar is they'll be focusing more on halloween and the anniversary event.
There was no acknowledgement of fan concerns in the Eternal blight.

Was it really that bad before though? I always had the impression they communicate with us, either here in the forums, on Twitter or on Twitch, either the several dev-stream or I guess some even made private streams like McLean?
Most of what we heard before was, "don't worry, we're looking into it"
Plus they outright ignored how much of a cash grab the Halloween event was. They never made a statement about it other than, " something will be done about it" on the QnA.
It is a remarkable improvement over the past

Another one to add to my collection >:D

Honestly that would probably just be another method of monetization, as cool as it would be.
I would prefer that the basement be themed around the map it is in. Giving the realm more of a unique feel.

Speaking of snow piles, Ormond is an EZ game for survivors as you can't even slam on 80% of the map.
I found that out the hard way a couple days ago.
It lost me a couple gens trying to get anywhere on the map. Couldn't hit snow piles, and the collision on rocks is either non-existent or inconsistent.

Can you?
Besides we're not the ones who should know what we're doing, the devs are.

Yeah that would be cool, or search those junkpiles for toolbox add-ons. Perhaps, they could even make his Saboteur perk his Innate Perk, and then give him a whole new other perk that could just amp a stat or something.
Actually, being able to scavenge for addons would be a pretty neat thing base game.
Obviously the addons would have to be more balanced for it to happen, but it would be awesome.
They would probably be awarded post game.
-
Pretty cool, seems like it would essentially act as a secondary objective tailored to the innate perk of the survivors.
Maybe Jake could spawn junk piles that would give him stuff to hook sabotage.

And what about the 250 more bugs that come from fixing those?
They shall be become intentional features
-
They could be skins for survivors instead, that way the pre entity look can be done for every killer.

I theoretically like the idea of giving each survivor a specific innate perk that only they have. But I think they would need to couple it with not showing the killer any info (i.e. which survivors and items are being picked) before the match. They would also need to be the most benign perks (like Soul Survivor or Left Behind), otherwise no one would play anyone but Bill and Laurie.
Then they would have to significantly rework items, because one of the few counterplays to keys is being able to make your build counter them.
-
You mean all 154 bugs? Which will probably take them an entire chapter to fix?
-
I've experienced both ends of it, the loops near the window are highly RNG dependent. Either you'll get a bunch of rocks, maybe a pallet, or you'll get two rock loops there.
As well as the loops to the right of the dozer.
All in all, the rework made the map a ton more fair to work with. But your experiences can differ based on pallet RNG.

Some say he is still guarding that basement chest, to this very day

The one you don't buy.

Personally I don't go into a game looking to be represented. In fact I do the opposite.
I go into games looking to be someone other than myself because it takes the edge off of my current problems.
Edit: plus, when this game let's me be a Ketamine infused goblin who headbutts walls, why would I want to be myself?

Or keep the 4 perk slots and have each survivor have a small passive, like Nea walks and crouches 10% faster, or Meg vaults 8% faster, or Jake's screams can only be heard from a maximum of 40 meters away. But I love the idea of a innate perk for each survivor as well. Probably would be easier to balance
Something like that, but for some characters their passive may make already great perks outright horrid to deal with.
So it would actually be decently hard to balance without a massive rework of perks.

I can see the idea behind this, but then you'd run into the problem of somebody wanting to play a particular character but hesitating because they don't want to be confined to that one perk.
I play Claudette often - and while I'm not someone who runs the same build over and over, I also never run botany knowledge at all. I would, as a result, almost never pick Claudette for this reason.
They still have three other perk slots to work with, it's up to them if they want to maximize the effectiveness of that characters role.

Everyone then mains either Laurie or David (David for WGLF/DH, Laurie for DS/OOO) or never plays them again (if it's No Mither for David or Sole Survivor for Laurie).
There would still be teachables but to maximize the effectiveness of the survivor, you'd have to make a build around their innate perk. Instead of just the same meta we've had for years now.
-
I know this would be controversial, but what if survivors only had 3 perk slots, but the fourth would be an innate perk for that survivor.
Like claudette having botany knowledge innately, so she's a better healer. This would give survivors more unique aspects about them, and make them more than just skins.

Been there, done that.
Most of the time I've seen people use mettle of man, to get any use they essentially have to devote the match to get that perks to work.
And no mither...
Why would you do that to yourself?

The devs don't respect their own playerbase. Why would they respect the Blight?
Fair enough

Tell that to mettle of man and no mither.

Wouldn't surprise me if this was a bug like hillbilly's ghost saw

The Entity doesn't "respect" any of the Survivors or Killers. They are all simply meat, means to an end. If the Entity wanted to put Blight's map in Crotus Prenn, he'll put Blight's map in Crotus Prenn.
I'm talking more about the devs respecting him.

@Demogordon_Ramsay said:

Yeah, usually, but not always, i.e. Plague's map being in Russia.
The Entity doesn't fully understand our reality and everything in the DBD world is merely just a concept of what it truly is. Blight having a map in the Asylum realm is easily possible due to the Entity's lack of familiarity with our world. And I think it would fit Blight's aesthetic, so I would rather it be in the Asylum realm.
Don't know why they made plagues map in the red forest. But the history of the building stays in tact. The plague unwittingly spread the aforementioned plague through the population who worshipped at the temple. Thus counting as her "horrible act".
But the entity does comprehend location. Otherwise there wouldn't be any difference between the realms. From a lore perspective it seems to mostly pull locations from memories then creates the realm from there.
Dyer island would also be respecting blights position in the lore. He is one of the most important characters in recent dbd history, and it would be kind of bad in my view to give him a hand me down realm from another killer.
-
@Demogordon_Ramsay said:
Should be something reminiscent of their menu backgrounds. So Blight would have an old, crumbling building situated around his map, likely the London School of Medicine as someone mentioned above, probably moved to Crotus Prenn just since it fits. For Twins I'm imagining they'd have their own realm, Marseille, and their map would be a forest near a shoreline, perhaps with evidence of Charlotte having set up camp there or otherwise establishing her presence—animal carcasses, dead cultists, Victor's grave, et cetera.
Usually realms are from places where the killer committed horrible acts, mostly murder. The Blights crimes took place on Dyer island, where the prison camp, and his laboratory were.
The killer shack of the map could be the laboratory from the hallowed blight cutscenes, putting it more in line with those events.
-
Most of the reason people are angry at BHVR is the extreme lack of communication. That and the 154 bugs.
But at least the roadmap would give us information to work with.
-
There's surveys, not like they ever use them for anything though.

You can't grab a healthy Survivor from a window, so it was probably Gen or a Locker grab.
Wait, really?! I was under the impression you could grab them?
If it's true, why is that a thing?

Also pulled out of locker, Off of window, there's some possibilities.

If it was iron maiden, screams are sort of bugged right now, sometimes they happen, sometimes they don't.
-
Just play them as much as you can, try to use their powers as often as you can. You'll get used to how they work, and how they don't

Blight: A big and open map with the London School of Medicine at the middle, and would be at the Crotus Prenn Asylum Realm
I do think crotus is an underutilized realm. It should have more locations set in it.

I mean, it makes more sense that a couple of French runaways made it to eastern Europe than a Babylonian priestess who then randomly built a giant temple because Logic.
Entity remade the temple from her memory, not sure why it couldn't be made into it's own realm though.
-
@MadLordJack said:
I saw someone mention Dyer Island for both of them, which seemed reasonable. The Twins might not have much to do with it, but that doesn't mean the Entity wouldn't use that realm twice. After all, Plague is somehow in a European forest and Clown rocked up to a random chapel beside an asylum and set up camp.
I think red forest would of been a great fit for the twins, it has that foggy, damp, european vibe.
Odd way to describe it but I think it fits.

His map mobility isn't entirely an issue, a lot more killers nowadays have some sort of map traversal. Even the twins, but only for victor because of his speed.
You can't compare someone who teleports to uncompleted gens to someone who can literally ignore loops. Nurse far outclasses anyone else in mobility because she doesn't have to run around a loop to hit a survivor.

Oh, yeah, it is.
If it wouldn't happen, it wouldn't get punished.
You're the only one punishing, everyone else just moves on and unhooks them.

Why's everyone so heated about this? It's just a game, it doesn't impact you in real life.
If someone manages to kobe in front of me I don't rage on the forums. I think "get over here and let me heal you ya goober."
It's not toxic, but it is stupid on the hooked persons side to risk going into the struggle phase.
