Nothing.
If you encounter a true "god nurse" it's quite simply gg. Sometimes I watch a korean streamer (devotion 11) who loops ANY killer till daylight without breaking a sweat. I rarely ever see him get hooked. But against a "god nurse" who blinks and anticipates optimally even he gets downed relatively quickly.

Killers tunnel because it is effective unless certain perks like Borrowed Time or the new Decisive Strike are in play, but since the killer doesn't know they're in play until they've already committed to tunneling that survivor, it rarely changes their behaviour.
Killers camp because they know the scoring and ranking system puts massive emphasis on unhooks, forcing survivors to try to unhook even when the sane thing to do is rush the generators and get out. This also synergizes well with tunneling.
The survivor's grinding perk, We're Gonna Live Forever, is built around mindlessly hookfarming your teammates. It doesn't care if the unhook is safe, and while it claims to give you a token if you take a hit for a teammate, the only times it seems to work is when you bodyblock a killer on the way to the hook, forcing him to hit you and thus usually doing more damage to your team than anything else, or just unhooking right in front of the killer and then taking a hit or two afterwards. Actually taking a hit for a survivor in a chase doesn't seem to do anything.
That's not true. Tunneling is NOT effective as it generates 0% map pressure. It works, but it isn't effective.
Scenario against optimal survivors:
3 survivors will rush gens while the 4th survivor gets tunneled. Tunneling an optimal survivor to death takes several minutes which is enough for optimal survivors to finish at least MOST of the gens and sometimes even all gens so you basically lost already.
I had one of those games against a camping/off the hook tunneling Freddy with an endgame build:
Remember me, NOED, Ruin, BBQ
He tunneled a good player all game so I rushed the gens with the others (4 solo players btw). Guess what: We finished all gens AND opened the gate. That's when he finally managed to tunnel his obsession to death.
I also noticed the killer was streaming so I was able to watch the game from his pov and he was actually expecting to win that way judging by how upset he was when he came to the gate seeing all the tbagging survivors.
Result: It only works against non-optimal survivors.
And if the players are not optimal you can win the fair way anyways so why camp/tunnel? It makes no sense.

This is not a movie.
This is a game = fun, im not gonna pay 20$ for get mad for a little kid.
Agreed. People seem to take dbd like serious business. It's a freaking game. It's supposed to be "fair fun" for BOTH sides. You are NOT a killer. You are a person playing a damn video game. If you feel like you have to dominate other people in a game you might wanna see a doctor. Like seriously... Dbd is *unplayable* for "normal" people right now.
Every killer facecamps nodding his head or tunnels right off the hook. If you win fair and square without camping and tunneling - fine. But no normal person will waste their spare time pleasing some psycho kid online who camps/tunnels at 5 gens with active ruin.
My friend wanted to try dbd today. She played 5 games.
1st game: Facecamper nodding his head till she was dead (Hillbilly)
2nd game: Wraith who waited behind the hook cloaked. Tunneled her right off the hook.
3rd game: Pig who waited for the unhook crouching behind a rock.
4th game: Hag who put virtually every trap around the hook AND never left the hook.
5th game: Trapper who trapped the hook and never left as well.
BEhaviour wants dbd to go for another 5 years? Not a chance. People may come and go every now and then but most active players are bored already and most normal people who play multiple online games think dbd is trash so how is dbd supposed to go for 5 years?
-
People say a killer is op all the time. Multiple people said I was a tryhard for using the "most op killer in the game" when I played Leatherface just because I managed to get two of them right at the start of a game because they sandbagged each other.
Plague is "ok". She does have a potential instadown and the corrupted vomit is almost a guaranteed hit all the time but she can only use it occasionally during the game. Doesn't sound op to me.
Also she can be looped like any other killer as long as she doesn't have corrupted vomit.

So you don't play against Self-Care, and despite mathematical proof to the contrary, you think it doesn't work in the survivors' favor?
Remove Selfcare - see what happens. Everyone will just rush gens with:
- Resilience
- Prove Thyself
- Bond
- Adrenaline
Will be fun times when gens pop even quicker because survivors have no self care OR a much faster medpack instead.

Dude, seriously? You are really desperate in defending SC, huh?
Even the unlimited, self sufficient use of SC is op AND it is way to fast.
1 survivor using SC = 1 survivor not doing objectives for 32 seconds
1 survivor getting healed by another = 2 survivor not doing objectives for 16 seconds
And you still can't see the issue with SC?
Well I can't remember when I lost a killer game last time so perhaps it's a YOU problem if you lose over something like Selfcare. People rarely ever use it in my games as it takes too long. Most of the time I see adrenaline and rush builds instead which is pretty useless as I win at 5 or 4 unrepaired gens in most of my games - which is why I don't see much of a problem with any survivor perk whatsoever. Some survivor perks are broken like the current decisive strike but that's about it.
And yes, I can post all of my games to back it up. Playing killer is a complete joke these days unless you go against a toxic SWF team yet people moan about survivors who heal themselves instead of rushing gens injured.
In fact I can post a game from yesterday where one single gen popped because an injured survivor repaired it just before I was about to check that gen. If that survivor had healed himself instead it would have been another 5 gen game for me.
Therefore Selfcare would have hurt them in this specific game no matter how you put it. That one gen was finished because he rushed it injured - simple fact. And that's not the first time I saw survivors rushing gens injured. Therefore I want them to heal themselves. Gives me more time to keep the momentum.
-
@MhhBurgers said:
cant take anybody seriously who says that Selfcare is detrimental to survivors. Selfcare could get a 25% nerf to speed and would still be op.
Can't take anybody seriously who thinks a perk is op despite the fact it gives you 32 seconds to find and down survivors without having to worry about the injured survivor. Selfcare would be "still be op" even with an additional -25% ? That's 40 seconds total. Damn, how long do you need to find and down someone? Are you THAT bad at the game?

I just try to go in and be a good teammate to attempt to see my team escape, even if I die. I don't care if I get face camped, because if the killer wants to throw the whole game just because I messed up a few of their hooks for a few minutes, then they need to get their priorities straight. Sabo exists to give survivors something else to do, and it isn't permanent. If it's such a pain to them, they should just run Hangman's Trick to balance it out.
Hook sabo causes killers to slug all survivors which ends the game quickly and is little fun for both sides. Just my 2 cents. I recently had a toxic swf team who saboed my hooks forcing me to slug all of them to death. Wasn't much fun for them based on the fact they messaged me for almost one full hour using multiple accounts.

I disagree with a few.
Legion. They look extremel silly when running. Like how they bend their back, and extend their arms. Looks like they have some neurological damage or something (braindead killer confirmed?).
Wraith. He looks really badass in my opinion. He is like the only killer that actually runs, not just walks with oversized steps. My favourite animation, because it looks realistic.
Nurse. She looks even more badass. She is like "I dont care how fast you run, I will still get you anyway". Also it looks kinda cool when she looks to the side when moving. Emphasises her hanging head more.
Legion (during frenzy) reminds me of Moe (simpsons):

Billy is in no way balanced and keeps most of the killer roster down because the game cannot be balanced towards killers right now with Billy and Nurse running rampant having mechanics that no other killer will ever get again.

That's not tunneling. Tunneling is when you repeatedly down the same survivor over and over again until they die, ignoring all other survivors and generators in the process.
A tunneler's dream would be leatherface.
Leatherface is the king of camping not tunneling. Only killers that are strong chasers can tunnel effectively which is why Legion is in fact the king of tunneling as there is no counter against them. Legion can vault windows and pallets just like a survivor and combined with franks mixtape it's just a short tunneling session till the survivor goes on the hook again and again.
-
The Clown's bottles slow down survivors which forces them to drop pallets more quickly than usual.
Brutal Strength saves you almost half a second when breaking a pallet.
Therefore Brutal Strength synergizes extremely well with the Clown's ability by keeping the distance to the chased survivor low while saving time on pallets you must break which as a result keeps the chase potentially much shorter than usual.
Ruin isn't even optional against optimal survivors as you need the time.
Bamboozle can save you a lot of time if survivors want to loop the killer shack or double walls.
Sloppy Butcher is always a good option for m1 killers because healing takes so long some people will just try to power through the gens injured allowing you to instadown them OR they will stand in a corner healing themselves for 40 seconds which allows you to find and chase someone else in the meantime.
Long story short:
Brutal Strength + bottle = quicker chases
Bamboozle = quicker chases
Ruin = more time to find and chase survivors
Sloppy Butcher = more time to find and chase survivors OR instadowns depending on the survivor's decision
-
I think everyone who is/was once addicted to dbd will take a break every now and then just to eventually come back for another 10000 hours of fun and frustration. Let's just face it: DBD is a virtual drug that makes you happy and angry at the same time. Some people even send developers (exactly) one dollar during their in-game streams asking to get unbanned because they're so addicted even though they used to complain about the game all the time.

No, you lost all credibility because it's mathematically demonstrably untrue that SC hurts survivors.
Mathematically it helps the killer when survivors heal themselves. Fact.
Self Care takes 32 seconds without sloppy butcher. That's 32 seconds that allow me to find and down someone AND force the injured survivor back into a locker due to BBQ which further increases the time it takes to heal himself.
Now again: Explain me how self care helps survivors against me as Billy. I use my chainsaw all game. Sometimes I even chainsaw injured survivors because it's relatively easy for me.
Tell me "mathematically" how self care helps them against decent instadown killers. I'm waiting.

@Wolf74 said:
Oh sorry, you really thought I want a full list? I just mentioned a couple of survivor things that do not have a real counter to show the issue that not all things in this game have a true counter and so the point I quoted is not true for this game.
But anyway...
I stopped reading it right here: "SC/ Self Care hurts the survivors more than it helps most of the time. "
As soon as someone mention this nonsense he lost all credibility.
This is nothing but a survivor meme, with no reason or mathematic behind it.
I don't want to go off topic and delve into people who don't understand or just try to hide the power of SC. That issue would drag a ratstail behind that would derail the thread. Despite gen rushing and spreading out (self sufficient with SC) IS the best way to deal with Legion.
But feel free to try again and make a serious post without that and we can talk.^^
I lost all credibility because your opinion is not the same as mine? Ok then. I'm glad when survivors waste their time healing. It allows me to find and down someone while keeping gen progression low. 32 seconds is a lot in this game and healing has no impact on me as I main Billy.
Now tell me again how self care helps survivors against me. I'm waiting. I rarely ever use the hammer to down someone but I'm sure healing helps them survive against me π
-
SC/ Self Care hurts the survivors more than it helps most of the time. It gives the killer over half a minute he can use to find and down someone else without having to worry about gens getting touched by the self caring survivor.
SB / Sprint Burst is totally useless against certain killers. I downed someone DURING his sprint burst. How? SB: 150% Billy: 230% π (red ranks btw)
DS / Decisive Strike is complete cancer now but it gets reworked so it will be an anti tunnel perk. Not much of a deal unless the survivors manage to make it to the end game.
BT / Borrowed Time is also useless against many killers as it requires the terror radius to be active. Myers, Spirit, Billy, Wraith, Freddy, Legion, Nurse etc either have such a small terror radius BT never gets activated OR they can rush back to the hook in a heartbeat which also suppresses BT. Therefore easily countered .
CS / Calm Spirit has no impact on the game for me even when I play Doctor. Not sure what you're up to...
ADR / Adrenaline is strong but it only activates if the survivors manage to finish all generators (which is rarely the case) and is a single use perk that only influences certain end-game scenarios. It's highly situational.
-
You don't have control over the other survivors when playing solo so imagine a pig without ruin [but noed] downs a solo player after a long chase and the other survivors pop their gens.
Time till the trap pops: 120s after the unhook because -10s/gen
+ tampered timer addon (-30 seconds)
Time till the trap pops after the unhook: 90 seconds
+ crate of gears addon (almost 16s per SAW box)
+ time it takes to get to a SAW box: Roughly 15 seconds give or take depending on the map.
Searching two SAW boxes = 62 seconds
Time till the trap pops after searching 2 SAW boxes: 28 seconds (not enough time to search another SAW box)
This calculation does not include getting interrupted by the Pig or being forced to hide. So even if you got unhooked and ran straight to the boxes without hiding or anything you'd still die most of the time in the scenario I described. That's a bit much for getting downed once.
-
Classic polaroid camera:
- instantly blinds the killer but makes a high pitched sound before usage which basically warns the killer
- can be used for a specific number (i.e. 5 times) rather than seconds
- needs 3 seconds to charge before every usage
- blinds the killer for only 1 second but can still be used to save survivors or blind the killer during a chase

Most Bubbas get mad when they realize they can't do anything against looping so when (or IF) they manage to catch the looper anyhow they'll typically "rage camp". What was the first and last letter of the killer's gamertag? I wonder if I know who it is as you're on xbox one.

So Yamaoka, finally see how it is being a killer?
I am a solo player myself but lobby times are atrocious on ps4. I mostly play killer now. It can be good or bad experience.
That's an odd question considering I've played killer before you and generally started playing dbd as a killer main. I honestly didn't get that many cheeky SWF teams back then, though. Especially that party invitation spamming is just messed up. I couldn't concentrate on the game and I had no time to block the guys.

They changed it like 3 patches ago so all lobbies try to get 4 people before loading in. This was to make it harder to detect SWF so lobby dodging would slow down. It sadly seems to have backfired as loads of people clearly never read this change and lobby dodge even more.
Oooh ok I thought that change was coming with chapter 11. Well, those were clearly SWF teams though as they collectively insulted me and spammed party invitations as soon as one of them died.
-
Usually it's more of a combination of annoying things that cost you gens, not just ds. Today I played against a SWF bully squad. To keep it short:
- two decisive strikes that I couldn't avoid.
- all the hooks in the middle section of the map were sabotaged (one of them even brought "alex' sabo toolbox") and whenever I headed to another hook they'd try to sabo that one, too. Good thing I had agitation so I always managed to JUST get to another hook in time.
- totem was gone immediately.
- each one looped either optimally or at least nearly optimally.
- each one tried to "distract me" by making noise on purpose every few moments whenever I was in a chase which confused the hell out of me.
The combination of all these factors caused me to lose gens like crazy. Got me a little annoyed so at some point I started facecamping and won after losing 4 gens like nothing. Didn't expect to win after that but luckily toxic SWF teams are overly altruistic sometimes.
-
Who cares about pips and ranks anyways? There's still no rewards for being rank1 killer/survivor.
-
@Acromio said:
When you'll face good survivors you'll realize how weak she really is.
Surely you can't be serious. Spirit -when played optimally- is able to counter the strongest loops in the game without breaking the pallet allowing her to end chases quickly AND she can cover a lot of distance quickly with her ability allowing her to snowball survivors and generate a lot of map pressure.
She is easily one of the strongest killers in the game.

I've played with salty 4 man swf before, just random people from steam, no voice comms. You get killers with noed who make it so obvious they also have bloodwarden.
You should see the salt you get if you do the smart thing and escape while half your team is slugged. They actually expect you to give the killer the 4k and die with them even though the chances of saving them were very slim.
Playing solo survivor suddenly doesn't seem to be all that bad haha. I didn't expect organized teams to be THAT aggressive. I guess there's really not much of a difference between sweaty killers and rush squads afterall. Both kind of people care little about the fun and merely want to dominate and boost their egos.

It's going to become even worse for the non-meta killers if the new ranking and emblem system goes live. A killer will need to get at least 10 hooks while also preventing the gens from activating. That's not possible for most matches.
The red ranks are going to become lonely. Nothing but genrush SWF groups will be up there.
Sounds good to me. Red ranks will be sweaty Nurses, Hillbilly and SWF gen rush squads and all the other ranks will be for players who play video games to have FUN.
-
Well, the first killer I mained was Huntress who requires some persistence to play efficiently (especially on console due to teleporting survivors). I enjoyed her the most because you WILL miss most of the time when you start playing her with a trash controller and like 0 fps (lol) but everytime a BBQ throw hits or even downs a survivor across the map it makes you burst into laughter.
I guess I prefer complex killers in that regard.
-
What do you mean by "complex"? As in tactical so one must think of a strategy on how and when to use the ability rather than just charging a chainsaw at point blank range?
-
Why does Tru3's opinion matter so much for some people? He used to say Leatherface was the weakest killer in the game now he says he's a solid killer. Tru3 is just human so his opinion about killers is dependant on his personal success with the killer in question.

What can I say I like standoffs when playing survivor because it forces you to actually outsmart the killer if he is sweaty enough to wait for over 2 hours and he didn't go afk for a single second. Whenever I moved away he followed me immediately.
When I tried to repair a generator that was close to the hatch he tried to grab me.
After 2 hours of walking between the gen and the hatch he forgot I had sprint burst so he followed me to the generator and BOOM I took my chances and sprint bursted right to the hatch and got out.
Killer never played DBD again (srs).
-
I've had several 1 hour stand offs. Longest stand off was 2+ hours.
EDIT: All my 1-2 hour stand offs were as survivor. If I play killer I just give the last survivor the hatch.
-
People will accuse you of cheating whenever you destroy them. I just got accused of speed hacking by multiple survivors who apparently were too stupid to take a look at my perks. I used agitation which is why I was able to chase and hit someone while carrying another survivor. π #Feelsfastman

People who spend a lot of time playing a certain game usually become good at said game.
Spending a lot of time in a game also causes the random skins to become boring at some point leading to the desire to unlock event- or store skins.
Result: People who wear event skins or store stuff are more likely to be experienced/good players but as many things it's not guaranteed. There's loads of ridiculously bad players who wear the fanciest and brightest clothings.
Personally I don't focus too much on what survivor people choose or what clothes they wear. I won't lobby dodge just because of p3 claudettes.
