In those examles you're clearly facing potatoes. There's no way you can chainsaw more than one people if survivors have a functioning braincell (even in the basement, yes), and avoiding the chainsaw is extremely easy with the help of just a little obstacle to circle around.

Since the Hillbilly exists imo there is no reason to play LF.

I've mained Billy for a while as well but Leatherface's chainsaw appeals more to me due to the aggressive way of just swinging that beast like he wants to destroy anything in his way. That's like the only reason I prefer Bubba over Billy even though I'm way better with Billy.

    (just watched all the vids)

where did you get such bad survivors??

seriously... these videos dont rly show how "strong bubba is", but actually how bad these survivors played.

lemme break down vid #1 ("If survivors try to pallet loop this may happen:") for you:

00:00 - 00:19 you spawn in and immediately spot a jane. good for you.

00:19 - 00:30 jane completely ignores the bus window, turns away from a great loop and also does not throw down the pallet, even though you are standing right behind her.

00:30 - 00:32 jane goes down (obviously). claudette just got unlucky there.

00:32 - 00:46: claudette immediately ragequits once she realises she'd be going to the basement. the team is now down one survivor while you didnt even have to insidious camp the basement, leaving them no time to get the gens done.

00:46 - 01:07: nea screwed up the flashlight blind AND let herself get hit twice, while you were carrying the claudette (which made you slower than nea btw)

01:07 - 01:13: you hook jane #1 and jane #2 misses a skillcheck (wouldnt have changed a lot, as you would have seen her with BBQ. however, i guess she was aiming to go for that locker in order to prevent being seen. in that case, why did she only start moving after you already downed nea, instead of going for it the very second you pick up jane #1?)

    01:13 - 01:14: nea ragequits.

01:14 - 01:19: jane #1 ragequits. now only jane #2 remains in this trial with 5 gens and exposed position.

01:19 - 01:26: jane #2 is standing in front of the locker she probaply wanted to use to dodge BBQ. she gave up at that point (with 3 ragequits and such an... special team, i am not rly surprised)

01:26 - 01:32: you down her and won.

see? this had nothing to do with how "good" bubba is, but is actually just showing how bad these guys played.

right now im really just hoping this is bait and you werent serious...

I'm currently playing purple ranks and the past 10-15 games didn't look much different so perhaps that's why I'm starting to think Leatherface is strong. Everytime survivors make a mistake I get the chainsaw hit ending the chase immediately. I used to main doctor who can generate some map pressure but rarely ends chases quickly so that may affect my opinion on Leatherface, too.

The survivor doesnt even know how to loop, he doesnt cut corners, has no idea of pathing and literally walks through a pallet without dropping it and gets chainsawed afterwards

I think the survivor wanted to see if the killer respects pallets. Not sure, though. The survivors in these clips definitely didn't play optimally but my point is Leatherface seems to be underrated. You make one mistake and down you go. He's got a legit instadown unlike Plague for instance and can end chases quickly unless survivors route perfectly from one window to another.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Gameplay videos of a certain killer are not proof of their viability.

There are so many variables to the performance of a killer that a few gameplay clips will never be enough to prove anything.

The fact is, LF's speed drops down to 87.5% while revving his chainsaw for 2.1 seconds, meaning that survivors will gain enough distance to run to a pallet or window in the majority of situations, assuming those survivors aren't completely void of any brain activity. His chainsaw Sprint doesn't even make up for the lost distance, he still chainsaws at normal 115% speed so you're basically just losing distance and you'll never get a chainsaw hit unless you catch them in an open field and revved up right on their ass.

That's also besides the fact that he lacks map pressure, which makes his case even worse.

What about the first clip? The survivor only tried to loop the pallet once and still got downed (and his team mate as well)

  • @Supernaut said:

No Yamamoto estate or ski resort? I detest those above any on that list. Of the 4 above, Rotten fields. I like shelter woods and father Campbell's.

I meant to add Ormond and Yamaoka Estate but the poll only lets you pick 4 options apparently so I kind of randomly picked 4. The one map I truly hate is Rotten Fields because on console and a bad TV you can't see survivors at all. I feel like completely blind on Rotten Fields.

  • Beautiful 😏

  • - Good survivors will ignore the broken state and rush gens while broken so Tanatophobia allows you to take advantage of that.

    - Ruin isn't even optional.

    - Plague gets looped a lot so a perk or two for chases are important (Bamboozle, Brutal Strength, Spirit Fury or Enduring).

Overall setup of my choice: Ruin, Tanatophobia, Enduring and Spirit Fury.

Strategy: Infect anything you can find. Survivors will either do gens with a 16% penalty when all of them are broken or they'll give you the blood vomit that lets you end chases quickly.

While in a chase disrespect pallets (Enduring) and puke on survivors till they become "broken". Wait for them to pallet stun you (Spirit Fury) and go for the instadown.

  • Wait... Your girlfriend cried because of dbd? Maybe that's a sign she shouldn't play this game. Honestly if you and your girlfriend want to have fun times with little to no frustration you shouldn't bother with competitive pvp games at all. Borderlands 3 is coming and will probably have an incredibly fun offline coop mode just like the previous games.

    Huh

Yeah, haha, it honestly sucks. When you go up into purple & red ranks, survivors do two infuriating things during chases that are tbh kind of exploitative of console's limitations. I'm not saying it's cheating, but I am saying it's a pain in the ass:

    • They get SUPER in your face & do small circles because again, drops the framerate and again, they just disappear on your screen and you have to try to anticipate where they're going/where they are.
    • They like to do this annoying twitchy run that ######### with their hitboxes/console auto-aim, so if you try to hit them, auto-aim kicks in and gets confused.

    So yeah. Β―_(ツ)_/Β―

I TOTALLY agree with everything you said. That auto aim makes me miss hits sometimes if a survivor zigzags because when I go for the hit it pulls my camera left and right even though the survivor runs forward. I wish they would get rid of the aim assist.

Right after that Freddy rework that's coming after Star Citizen is done.

I'd not get my hopes up for plague, the devs don't care much if a killer is really bad since survivors don't complain about those.

Survivors don't complain about weak killers? *cough* Doctor *cough*. A survivor literally rage quit at the start of the game and called me a "coward" for playing doctor who is nothing but a weak tracker type of killer.

  • - last survivor gets hooked

    - uses deliverance

    - can't get hooked again for 60 seconds because of decisive strike

    - survivor runs to hatch

    = free escape.

  • I was playing Leatherface and hooked 2 survivors in the basement (no basement build). One of the other survivors rushed to the basement even though I was chasing him. I let him enter the basement as I wanted to enjoy what was coming next.

So he unhooked them and all 3 of them started tbagging me on the stairs.

I downed ALL OF THEM with one single chainsaw attack. Must have been one of the most satisfying experiences I've made in dbd (so far).

  • No offence but your threads make you look like you got about 10 game hours at best. Hillbilly is a beast. I feel like a cheater whenever I pick him. Games can end in 3 minutes if you know how to play him. Just take your time to learn this game rather than moaning all day.

Unrelenting... Really? πŸ˜‚ Yeah that's certainly one hell of a crutch perk.

@Yamaoka The thing about the Doctor is that he is an absolute god at generating BP and he is slightly better in a chase than Clown in my eyes.

The power can be annoying to use at first but you just have to charge it early. For example, at a classic T-Wall L-Wall you need to shock the window while you're staring at a wall if you're on the outside as by the time you actually round the corner the survivor will be at the vault and will use it if you didn't smack them with the 2-3 second debuff that prevents actions. You have to basically train yourself to figure out where survivors would be in a chase and then shock them a few seconds before they're safe to go in for a hit.

I know shocking through walls is his most efficient way to cut off windows and also grants a hit on survivors who camp pallets but the thing is many survivors already know that strategy so they skip the first window and run straight around the opposite L or T wall OR they run straight to the next loop while you shock through the wall mindgaming yourself. So basically with Doctor you need the survivor to mess up slightly in order to get a hit via the ability.

The shock stun is way too short with the current 2.5 seconds. If it was just 0.5 seconds longer his anti loop would be so much better.

  • Why does Legion need a rework in the first place? Just because some people hate going against them?

  • I used to main doctor for quite some time till I realized he only does well against random solo players because he's the best tracker in the game but is just overall awful against aggressive teams who don't care about being found because his ability doesn't help much in a chase.

Sometimes his ability even makes you lose time during a chase. I've shocked so many survivors just before a window or pallet and they still vaulted with no problem robbing me of hits and time. Not to mention the Doctor moves at a lousy 110% in treatment mode and less than 100% whilst shocking.

  • Who does even play Doctor these days?

  • All killers have the same lunge distance and speed except for EW1 and EW3 Myers as far as I know. That being said I could swear the doctor has a slower lunge than other killers but well... Apparently they all swing the same way on paper.

How would you know if it's a nurse before you see her? Could be Wraith or a Freddy or MM or Pig hiding well

The nurse still has to blink to get behind the gates. 4 people get a chance to hear and potentially even see her blinking behind the gate.

  • If the killer is a nurse and she's nowhere to be seen she's obviously an insidious noed gate nurse which is easily countered by cleansing the totems before opening the gates. Not sure how that's supposed to be an exploit.

    1) Leatherface: Straight up getting to the Survivor's back and rev up the chainsaw, and thats it.

    2) Hillbilly: Similar to Leatherface, but with less control.

    3) Myers: Leaving aside Scratched Mirror Myers, straightforward as hell.

Legion is one of the easier Killers indeed, but not the easiest. You still have to learn to deal with 110% movement speed with as little interaction with your power as possible.

Leatherface does take skill. You can't just pick him up and chainsaw survivors around obstacles, through doors, jungle gyms etc. without bumping into stuff causing the longest stun animation in the game. Also he has to mindgame survivors to get a chainsaw hit most of the time because good survivors are NEVER far away from a window or pallet.

Leatherface is the definition of high risk high reward. If you hit the survivor you get a hook - it you hit an obstacle you lose the chase (temporarily).

Legion on the other hand really takes very little skill. I've just bought Legion so my friend can play killer without the need to mindgame survivors. Pallets, windows, distances - nothing is much of a problem for Legion.

132% default speed in Frenzy which can be increased with addons, can vault pallets and windows like a survivor - yupp that's easy mode. Only thing that makes Legion bad is the fact they can't instadown.

  • The Spirit chapter was beautifully executed. The teaser, the trailer, Spirit herself and the map is beautiful in my opinion. Given the fact I'm (or was) a 50/50 player I decided to name myself after the map to keep it neutral.

I 4k with Leatherface almost everytime. That means he's top tier judging by your logic.

What are you smoking? She's one of the fastest killer in the game, and all she has to do is vomit on you until you're in broken state and then hit you once. Not to mention she slows the game down for about a good 2 mins. Ya'll don't know how to use her.

She can't go faster than 115%. That's "normal" movement speed without the possibility to temporarily go faster unlike strong killers like Nurse (333% blink), Hillbilly (230% default chainsaw speed) or Spirit (176% default phase walk) which greatly decreases the Plagues map pressure potential.

Also her instadown is never instant unless the survivor plays REALLY bad. Good players will loop her and dodge the vomit for almost a minute before they go into the broken state and the Plague still has to get a hit at this point.

I DID manage to instadown several survivors in a few seconds myself but those survivors ran in a perfectly straight line allowing the vomit to connect completely. If the survivor zig zags and breaks line of sight using any given object the puke will only connect to a small extent NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU AIM for the mere reason the vomit flies too slowly.

The Plague gets bullied by any semi-decent SWF team. And no - her ability doesn't slow down the game. Gen rushers don't give a damn about the broken effect. They just keep repairing the gens which causes the Plague to become a pure M1 killer with no ability.

Even the Plague's blood vomit causes her to lose momentum as she has to walk all the way across the map to get to the fountains. And even with the blood vomit a good survivor will not go down quickly.

If you 4k all the time it's because you're facing bad survivors. Prove me wrong and post some of your gameplay against decently looping survivors or SWF who route from one pallet and window to another. I'm waiting.

Im not making a guide in this post, but its simple as that, if u know how to play her properly she is better than Huntress, so here we can see where she stands...

Top Tiers: Nurse, Spirit (before bug), Hillbilly, Plague, Huntress, Michael

Remember, the only real issue is always between the screen and the chair, not inside the game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/editor/hc/483wnl2r1kdf.png

I asked for short reasoning behind your statement not an outdated meme.

  • How is Plague a top tier killer?

  • Woow... This survivor has the same attitude as one I killed today. There was this Meg who would tbag me from the distance. I mindgamed and facecamped her. She died with 3k bloodpoints. I still got my 4k. After the game she said "ez baby killer". Uhmm... What kind of twisted logic is that?

By the way I played Leatherface, too. I guess some people just hate losing against him because he's considered weak for some reason.

  • She is (in my opinion) one of the weakest killers in the game. Here's why:

All strong killers have one thing in common: They can go fast from point A to point B. The Plague can not.

Plague also struggles to find and track survivors because she is easily avoided due to her sheer size and normal terror radius. Survivors see her all across the map.

Plague also needs time to get a good survivor into the broken state which turns her ability into a handicap sometimes. If you are lucky and the survivor runs in a straight line you'll down the survivor in a matter of seconds. If the survivor loops you however it will take ages to get him into the broken state and remember you'll still need to smack them at that point. Therefore her chases last between 10 seconds and 1+ minute. That's too risky.

    So to sum things up:

    - She is "slow" (despite her 115% ms)

    - can't find survivors quickly

    - can't end chases quickly (unless the survivor runs in front of her like a tutorial bot)

RESULT: Little to no map pressure.

The only thing that makes her TEMPORARILY strong is the blood vomit which you have to waste time for since you have to walk all around the map to collect it.

If she was able to run considerably faster while holding the vomit she'd be a lot more viable but right now she's just awful and only good against "baby survivors".

  • I like teabaggers. In fact I like them so much I always run insidious just for them.

  • That second chance perk shouldn't even be in the game just like noed. I'm glad it's pretty much useless against enduring and I sincerely hope they will not make any changes.

  • It's a wasted perk slot in my opinion. I got hit by the new decisive because I tunneled someone who used it. The survivor didn't even make it to the next pallet because the stun is so short. But then again I run enduring at all times so I don't know... Maybe it's still somewhat useful against killers who don't run enduring.

  • My last 10 games were all 4ks or 3ks (because of the hatch). Can't complain to be honest. The only time dbd gets rough is when you face an organized SWF team consisting of optimal loopers.

  • Anyone notice the repair bar? πŸ˜‚

If you're a bit thicker than her and you see people calling her fat, it would automatically mean that you're fat aswell. I think that's why some people don't want to call her fat :-)

    Ooooh that makes sense πŸ˜….

On a serious note being (slightly) overweight doesn't necessarily mean someone's unattractive or anything and I'm not talking about social lies like "beauty comes from the inside" but more like other factors. I mean... Jane Romero sure as hell has a perfect face and upper body... Right?

  • @slingshotsurvivor said:

You assume it's fat not muscle. Also, although correlated weight does not indicate health or muscle to fat ratio.

When did Jane become a bodybuilder, powerlifter, strong(wo)man etc? Normal people who don't lift can't have 40% more muscle mass than other people who are the same height, gender, age unless the overly muscular person in question has a rare myostatin condition causing overgrowth of muscle tissue. Jane is (slightly) overweight, not sure why some people make a fuzz about it.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/377069#Comment_377069

Got it. In order to stop toxicity I should have someone incompetent pretend to be me and then actually show up when the least expect it and be as much of an ######### as possible. Clearly that will solve all of our problems.

Why would I even try to stop toxicity? That's the job of the developers not mine. I'm the customer and I'll play as I want as long as it doesn't violate any rules. If people try to annoy me (or my friend who casually wanted to try new content) I'll obviously "want to play toxic". Action --> reaction.

If the devs wanted to "reduce" toxicity they'd at the very least give killers an option to end the game when the gates are open (granting the survivors their escape points, of course) but instead they force killers to search toxic survivors who hide in the map for the lolz even when the gates are open for minutes and escort said survivors out while watching the other survivors teabag and 360 at the gates till you force them to leave.

  • I tested something today. I let my friend play (inexperienced dbd player) because she wanted to try the new killer. When the survivors won all of them would dance at the gates, hide in the map, do 360s, teabag, point finger etc.

After that game the same survivors joined the lobby so I played instead of my friend and I picked insidious Leatherface and camped at 5 gens nodding my head and messaged all of them "gg ez" after winning in like 3 minutes. NONE of them replied. 2 of them rage quit so I reported them on top of that. Fun times.

What I'm trying to say is: If you camp them and they're nice and say gg they probably think "better be nice or he'll facecamp you all the time".

Also survivors now have no actual free escape perk anymore. The new decisive strike does NOTHING if you run enduring which I do all the time. With enduring it's kinda fun to get d-striked because the stun animation is so fast and short. In fact it wants me to get d-striked. I like the new decisive. Makes tunneling hella fun. Thanks devs! πŸ˜‚

  • Jane is definitely overweight albeit just slightly. People are just used to seeing really fat people so someone slightly overweight is considered "thick", "curvy" and so on. Jane and Meg have the about the same height yet Jane weighs like 40% more than Meg based on her legs and... Her huge gluteus maximus.

That being said I don't notice a difference chasing her or other survivors. The only survivor that can virtually disappear like a ninja is Claudette - sometimes.

  • When waiting for a game takes longer than playing the game itself.

  • Ds is definitely totally useless now. I just tunneled a ds user while running enduring tier 1 and I actually laughed because he couldn't even take a few steps before I downed him again.

  • @TessaTheDeath said:

    Who are the Fog Wispherers?

The fog whisperers are like Legion. A bunch of people that get lots of love and hate at the same time.

  • Leatherface is completely useless against optimal survivors. He can be looped making his slow chainsaw ability useless, doesn't have map pressure, is easily spotted across the map and can't go fast from point A to point B unlike strong killers (Nurse, Billy, Spirit) which makes his gen defense trash as well.

However most survivors don't play optimal at all times which does make sonewhat decent due to his ability to instadown. If survivors sandbag each other Leatherface can instadown ALL OF THEM immediately unlike any other killer in the game which is extremely rare but feels incredible when it happens.

I remember when I played with nurses calling back then when Leatherface was new and saw 3 survivors healing each other below me. I jumped down and instadowned all of them and the 4th survivor was hooked soooo... Yeah... Fastest 4k I've ever had.
