    • How is this fair?

It's not, and it's why survivors love it, it's the only way they can win. In their head there is no issue with being able to do 80% of the game in 80 seconds.

I just give up and start camping, it happens in every match. Even as Legion I can manage to injure everyone as soon as the game begins, have Hex:ruin screw their progress and they will still have 2/3 gens pop by the time I get my first hook. Even if it took me just 20 seconds to down someone.

But shhh, "there is no gen rush we're just doing our objective! so what if all 4 of us spawned on a different gen on the other side of the map and by the time you found your first survivor 3 gens popped! ApPLy PrEsSUrE".

Maybe you're just not as good as killer as you think if you typically lose most gens before your first hook?

  • Yes, some killers will consider it BM.

Its not embarrassing I block hatch and walk away. If youre gonna hide in a locker and wait for hatch with 3 or 4 gens left you can get bent. I had a swf try it the other day. One of them DCed so the hatch would spawn and he could escape. It spawned next to me and I blocked it. It was glorious watching youtube while he didnt do ANY of the 4 gens that were left. The messages were even better. I couldve just moved on to the next game but nah ######### em. Play like a cheap trick get bent like one.

    As I said: Embarrassing.

  • You take this GAME too seriously - you know that right?

Ill stand on hatch and block hatch if thats what youre playing for. Finish them gens and walk out idc, youre not getting hatch. (petty AF i know)

That's not petty. That's just embarrassing.

Not all of us are used to losing like you to the point we take pleasure on it. If you enjoy losing and getting t-bagged at the hatch then, suit yourself. As you said, "whatever floats your boat".

    Nice salt there bud.

You should always strive towards fairness, even if it isn't completely attainable. Just as you should try to be better, even if you'll never be perfect. With your mentality the game would still be in its 2016 state.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2190221#Comment_2190221

Doing what you can to get a 4k/3k and believing you deserve a 4k are two entirely different things.

    Whatever floats your boat.

  • @OogieBoogie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2190183#Comment_2190183

Still not seeing where he said/implied he "deserved" a 4K.

Standing on hatch for several minutes clearly indicates the 4k mentality.

I couldn't care less if someone escaped via a key as I play the G-A-M-E for F-U-N and not to boost my virtual ego.

Who cares if someone escapes via the hatch?

Just play the next match and stop acting like you had to stand on the hatch for several minutes because anything less than a 4k shortens your lifespan.

  • @NightmareKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2189934#Comment_2189934

All they did was make the key that left the hatch open for 30 seconds make it so now it opens for 10.

Not a single match ever had that be relevant. People group up so they can all t-bag and escape together.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2189936#Comment_2189936

What I deserved was a fair match not some magical item that opens a magic door tha gives the survivor an insta win with no way to stop them.

"Fair" matches don't exist in DBD. The game is based around luck.

  • "I hit the guy who doesn't have the key, and they still were able to get through the killer's body and escape."

  • So you think you deserved the 4k even though you don't even know the basics of the game (i.e. you're losing collision when hitting a survivor) ?

  • They probably had nothing but bad games before.

I had a rank 1 killer DC because I cleansed their Ruin at the start of the match.

People don't want to play if things seem to go badly all the time.

  • Not worth it in solo queue.

People ignore both, the possible movement speed bonus and the aura information the perk provides so you're better off running Bond really.

I tried to make it work for months as I like co-op perks but after excessive testing I can't recommend it - at least in solo queue.

    Unfortunately.

Despite there being nearly 10 pages, BHVR still hasn't responded to us, even when presented with overwhelming evidence that the game barely functions on Console.

Let's just face it. They do NOT care about the experience of any old gen player.

Their 2018 60fps on consoles promise was a big fat lie. Simple as.

  • Currently all status effects make your game freeze on old gen consoles.

This includes status effects of other players.

Notice how when a teammate gets hit and your game freezes it's because the killer has Sloppy Butcher.

Or when a teammate uses Sprint Burst, Dead Hard etc it may make your game freeze, too.

The devs promised 60fps on XB1/PS4 back in 2018. Now we're expected to just buy a new gen console so we can play a 5 year old game without FPS freezes.

    Ridiculous.

  • @IOIOO said:

At least his skills taking is increased from 0 to about billy's level, he is still strong if you pay high skills enough

    Hahaha good one ! ๐Ÿ˜‚

EDIT: At topic he is the same as before minus his slowdown addons. The slowdown whilst placing snares is not even noticeable.

  • Short answer: No.

Long answer: It would buff his tunnel/camp potential as he'd disable Borrowed Time and DS. That's unhealthy for the game (sorry mods for saying "unhealthy" !).

  • Let's pretend the game is designed to allow survivors to loop the killer for 5 gens if the killer has more than 1 day of experience.

  • Why does the game run like absolute BEEP on old-gen consoles and when will they keep their 2018-promise and optimize it ?

The game freezes every few minutes and literally ALWAYS when a status effect is happening.

A survivor DeadHard-ing makes ME freeze.

  • The better question is how many RE players will actually stay considering how "special" the DBD community is and how little the devs care about fun in this game?

We still have the same core issues. Gen speed as killer, camping/tunneling/slugging as survivor.

I've seen interested people drop the game after a couple weeks for these reasons making DBD a game for a very specific "type" of person, only.

If it wasn't for addictions I think many long term players would have dropped the game ages ago, too.

  • More like #Worst-Optimisation-In-Video-Game-History.

I'm playing Destiny 2 right now on my old XB1. No fps drops whatsoever despite the bazillion effects and fast movements.

  • @Yords said:

So is your definition of fun in this game only escaping?

Let's pretend killers would have fun after winning 1 single match in 6 hours of playing.

  • Works wonders against solos who already find the game frustrating.

Doesn't do anything against good SWF teams that consist of 4 good loopers.

  • I will never introduce a friend to DBD.

DBD may be fun for a specific type of person but at the same time it's the unhealthiest game I've ever played.

Oh damn... I said "unhealthy" again. Sorry mods!

  • Imagine Haddonfield but with 1000 breakable walls that you have to break in order to get rid of god loops.

  • Someone asked this question a few years ago and I still remember saying "Silent Hill".

    Goes to show:

    Some dreams do come true!

And now we're getting Resident Evil as well. Absolutely incredible!

if I had to pick 1 more license it would be F.E.A.R.

I used to be addicted to F.E.A.R. 1/2 (3 was a dramatic fail. Probably because the dev team changed if I remember correctly).

Alma Wade or Paxton Vettel would be amazing killers. And as a survivor Alice Wade.

  • Long enough to become a villain

  • Everything's working as usual for me in this regard. You could do it in the tutorial, record it and report it if it happens all the time.

  • You're welcome. Did you find your stats?

  • @DBD78 said:

Can you see your playtime on console? I have played this game for less than 2 years and are at devotion 16.

If you're on XBOX you can check your playtime by opening your game stats.

    Not sure about Playstation, though.

  • How are these interviews made - like do you have a pattern / a list of questions you go through ?

  • Just a hacker using the same old hacks since the beginning of this year.

Can't believe they're still not bored.

  • Hag is like... The most simple killer amongst the strong killers (besides Freddy)...

She is neither mechanically demanding nor does she need a lot of "unique" knowledge. She requires the same map knowledge as any other killer and her power is basically just planting your own position where people will have to be at some point. Not really difficult but it's your list

''Killing 4 solos who derp around all game. Even my gf (who doesn't play killer) has won matches on my Rank 1 profile - as Legion.''

it becomes rarer and rarer to face survivors who derp around all game as you rank up. I rarely face some past purple rank tbh. and maybe you gf just got lucky with matchmaking, that can happen.''

''Again: A person who does NOT play killer AT ALL (unless you count like 2 matches per YEAR) has won at rank 1.''

And what rank were the survivor? matchmaking rn ain't that great and we often end up in rainbow lobby. I doubt you gf faced 4 ranks 1 survivor who can't win against a legion who never plays the killer. that just sounds like a big lie.

''On top of that, I see meta perk killers tunneling, (proxy) camping and slugging against obvious solos.''

Yea cause tunneling, proxy camping, and slugging are killer base kit tech? If you just go for 12 hooks game as killer you won't pass rank 12. That like complaining about survivor going for palet stun save and protection hit even if the killer is obviously bad. Maybe you should play some game out of the brown rank.

''You think that takes skill? Running 4 slowdown perks just so you have enough time to tunnel/(proxy camp/slug a bunch of 100 hour survivors using a killer anyone can play perfectly first try (i.e. Freddy)?''

if you run 4 slowdown perks you got a bad build. Slowdown perk except ruin got a requirement to activate and you won't do that by camping. not only that they require you to kick gens and don't stack. That like saying Survivors are op cause they can bring 4 exhaustion perks and sneak around doing gens only all game. And I think we both agree that a survivor doing that is wasting 3 perks. Freedy got nerf too. get over it.

''At this point, I am convinced most red rank killers are just as bad as most red rank survivors but the only time they get a clue on how bad they are is when they face 4 survivors that know that they are doing.''

It more of an issue that killer got a bigger learning curve than the killer and that survivor got too many advantages in the 1v1 with a perk like dead hard.

you got 5 gens that can be completed in 80 sec each. 4 survivors to complete them. 1 Killer who needs to do 12 hook stage. And what does the killer has a base kit over these 4 survivors? around 15% more movement speed, M1, and a power. Most killer action take lots of commitment for bad reward. take base regression. you take 2 sec to kick a generator that now slowly regress. if you don't make sure no survivors are around they can press m1 for 1/60th of a sec to stop regression.

Tbh I just think you never played killer past green rank.

Rank 1 both sides since 2017 and posted Rank 1 survivor/killer clips on this forums for as long as I'm using the forums.

But clearly I have no idea what I'm talking about because my opinion is not the same as your opinion.

  • Not sure if someone else has already mentioned it but you could get a programmable controller.

Some are pretty affordable and allow you to adjust the deadzones and even response-curve of both joysticks.

  • You know what else doesn't take skill ?

Killing 4 solos who derp around all game. Even my gf (who doesn't play killer) has won matches on my Rank 1 profile - as Legion.

Again: A person who does NOT play killer AT ALL (unless you count like 2 matches per YEAR) has won at rank 1.

On top of that I see meta perk killers tunneling, (proxy) camping and slugging against obvious solos.

You think that takes skill? Running 4 slowdown perks just so you have enough time to tunnel/(proxy camp/slug a bunch of 100 hour survivors using a killer anyone can play perfectly first try (i.e. Freddy)?

At this point I am convinced most red rank killers are just as bad as most red rank survivors but the only time they get a clue on how bad they are is when they face 4 survivors that know that they are doing.

Long story short: If you can't beat survivors who are actually playing the game instead of sitting in a bush while you're tunneling/camping/slugging their teammates out of the match then clearly you are not ready for decent survivors.

  • A proper anti-tunnel / anti-camp / anti-slug mechanic to punish bad killers.

A new objective for survivors (besides gens) to make up for the loss of the 3 no-skill strategies named above.

  • A killer's overall power-level should always correlate with the killer's skill ceiling and the difficulty of the killer's counterplay.

  • No offence but:

This match brings nothing new to the table. Literally just a

"oh look! 1 streamer versed that other streamer so let's talk about it for no reason"

No chase was particularly impressive, no actions were particularly unique from either side, teammates made bad decisions (as usual in solo queue) so yes, what's so special about this match?

I could post literal 4 minute chases against pre-nerf Freddy (without interruptions. Full 4 minutes in one chase) where my teammates would do maybe 1-2 gens.

Shall we discuss that as well ? (obviously a rhetoric question)

Like I said, the bubba could have played better for sure, but I think that even if he was good and had better perks that he would have still struggled. However the shack window and the short wall jungle gym right next to each other was still very crippling on top of the pallets. It does get worse, but I still think that it was too strong against average killers such as Wraith, bubba, or demo.

You have to keep in mind that games are not (supposed to be) balanced around 4ks.

If survivors are high level loopers (like you) then the killer is supposed to sweat for around 2 kills even if they're decent with said killer.

Personally I would rather play this map with this exact rng as Bubba than let's say Shelter Woods with deadzone-rng granting me a free 4k for existing.

What's the point of playing killer when there's no proper loops and no decision-making throughout the match?

  • I didn't see anything crazy rng-wise.

Nothing but deadzones in the center of the map, a few T-L walls, killer shack, a jungle gym next to shack and some pallets that good Bubbas will mow through in seconds.

The killer in question had obviously no idea how to use Bubba's chainsaw (at all) so really this is what the match should look like until they learn to use the power correctly.

Look at 3:30 and tell me that they should have gotten a kill or even won the match.

Also the killer's build was straight up terrible for Bubba.

  • If anything people should play as disgusting as possible so they get a fair chance to decide whether they should invest time in this game or not because let's be real: The community is terrible.

  • @latinfla4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2167210#Comment_2167210

Just that I see people complaining about long matchmaking times but never switch to play killer even for a while to solve the problem

    That's a common myth.

Survivor queues are actually quick and often even instant in the morning.

Killer queues often take longer than survivor queues in the morning but then go faster at night.

That's something people know when they play both sides equally.

  • The vast majority of the community doesn't care about the fun of their opponents regardless of the side they play.

Why would a red rank SWF team care about the fun of a killer when the majority of killers try their best to 4k using the lamest strategies in human history?

  • @SweetTerror said:

They need to make tier 1 more viable. You are at a serious disadvantage until you get to tier 2, and simply making you have no terror radius at stage one isn't enough. I also think it's ridiculous that each survivor only has a limited amount of stalk. It's not that way with Ghostface, and I don't see why it should be with Myers.

Yeah let's allow Myers to get all his Infinite Tier 3 + Tombstone stalk on that one single survivor who doesn't look around whilst working on a gen so Myers can instantly kill all the other survivors without even hooking them once despite them avoiding his stalk successfully.

What could possibly be wrong with that? Sounds like fun! (for 1 single person that is)

  • @DoritoHead said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2166795#Comment_2166795

Myers is outdated which is why he needs a buff, but I agree that Ghostface's reveal needs to be fixed.

Not every killer requires a straight up buff just because they're "outdated".

Myers' power is literally a M1-instadown with increased lunge range and vaulting speed that is gained by... Looking at survivors.

You can not simply buff a power that can be used effectively without any thought process.

If anything he needs a rework. Then again I think he's absolutely fine.

  • Neither means a lot really.

You can proxy camp and defend near-by gens just near enough to get A LOT OF hooks by slugging and forcing survivors to trade for each other (aka the strategy of most red rank killers) so you'll get a ton of hooks even though you're factually playing in a lame way that requires just as little skill as facecamping everyone to death first hook.

What matters to me is fun and personally I get fun by actually forgetting about the person I just hooked and going for "real" chases forcing me to actually use my killer's power skillfully to keep the pressure up at all times.

  • A killer's lunge is faster than exhaustion perks.

All speed related exhaustion perks grant 150% movement speed.

    A killer's lunge is 172.5% movement speed.

  • If you're not (too) addicted to DBD gameplay you should probably just play something else.

The vast majority of long term players take the game too seriously so they will either try to get the 4k no matter how even if it means hooking everyone 1 single time by camping + slugging or even not at all (faced a Nurse that would slug everyone all game then immediately go afk the second she finally slugged the 4th survivor to let everyone bleed out) and some survivors would choose to escape without any chases at all if they could finish the gens in 1 second.

One could say the community tries its best to ruin a fun-concept-game one day at a time and since people don't change you might as well get another game unless you really are addicted to the gameplay.
