Just one for today.
Should've been an easy hit, but once again, either the freeze or auto-aim screws me over.
Freezes like these (whilst attacking) have caused me to bump into corners with Bubba.
Needless to say I don't miss playing DBD. After around 5k hours in DBD I have now fully switched to Destiny.
I will still be active on the forums and see if something changes for the better but as long as the game runs like actual poop I will not touch it.
-
Solos rarely finish all gens so it's a waste of a perk slot.
Also it makes low spec PCs and old gen consoles freeze for 2 solid seconds so it can get you killed due to the terrible optimisation.
-
Tried it (before I started taking a break).
Got a tunneling Stridor Spirit.
Realized I should have used Iron Will, DS, exhaustion perk and Borrowed Time instead.

I love Alma - she's easily my favorite
I play through all the F.E.A.R. games every October. I have every appearance of Alma memorized in the first two games.
Anotherwords, she can't jump scare me anymore. But.... she still sends a cold chill down my spine everytime I see that damn girl.
<3 Alma to death
But.... because I love her so much, I doubt DBD could do her justice.
Did you visit the F.E.A.R.'s "secret" Armacham website back then? That was scary and really unique game-wise.
As for the topic I agree. Although I love F.E.A.R. (particularly 1) and used to be extremely addicted to the game series back in the day I doubt DBD could do Alma justice.
EDIT: Maybe if they made her a 90%-ish movement speed killer with an insanely powerful ability like Nurse. Still not sure, though.
-
Well, guess my break from this game will be permanent then.
Not even gonna buy the Resident Evil chapter.
Wish I hadn't supported this game since console release. Bought way too much in-game stuff for a game that doesn't even run properly.
-
At least they showed the new player what he is signing up for when playing DBD so the new player got a fair chance to decide whether or not to spend/waste time on the game.
-
Blood Pact counters itself. People who try to make it work will throw the game passively.
-
Why do you even wonder if someone knows you ?

And no that's not what I'm saying, but using your point he had to sweat to beat players during mmr... okay that's fine but why are we talking about buffing them? If it was already hard and "more balanced" why are we then buffing
That's why I asked scottjund if he kept track of his MMR games because I can't remember him losing a high number of matches. I think it MMR merely made it feel more exhausting to get the kills but even then he probably still 4k'd most of his matches which -with active MMR- is a clear sign that solos need buffs even if we only talk small changes like basekit Kindred which SWF has for free anyways.
-
@Zozzy said:
How can mmr ever hope to work when the devs prioritize time over everything else?
We all saw what happened to Dowsey.
You say that like everyone watched Dowsey. I have no idea what you are referring to but it sounds like it's something you're not allowed to say here?

Lol nice try, if you actually look at my points it's from my survivor perspective. And my main point was any talk of buffing solos is stupid until mmr has been active a long time.
I literally quoted you. Your argument was buffing solos is wrong because even scott had to sweat when mmr was on.
Guess what: That's what red ranks is supposed to be and even then he won most of the matches I watched (and in the meantime DS got nerfed which has a huge impact) so what is your point?
Did he lose more than he won? Even though he probably didn't keep track of it himself and probably won't reply anyways:
@ScottJund : When MMR was on did you keep track of your matches as in how often you had more than 2 escapes?
-
Quote: "Even Scott Jun who now supports swf and say solos need a buff hated the mmr because of how stupid hard it was... they was mostly solos but now you want them buffed??? What?"
Translation: "I want easy 4ks on red ranks even if I mess up a million times per match"

Not that I am against bodyblocking with BT, but how do you know that the killer is camping when BT activates regardless of where the killer is on the map and some survivors get in a chase leading the killer and going down back at the hook. That's not "camping" that's your teammate bringing your team down. I just think it's important to know the difference.
That's why I specified "unless my teammate unhooked behind your back".
If the killer is somewhere else chasing people off of gens I won't be able to get in his way with BT anyways so BT bodyblocking really isn't gonna happen unless:
1) the killer was camping for an easy trade hook which I will deny if I can.
2) the teammate unhooked me right behind his back (which I consider rude myself as the killer had no chance to even get into the next chase and thus is sort of forced to come right back in which case I won't block the killer).
3) the teammate ran the killer to the hook to farm me in his face (in which case I won't be blocking either).
However in my experience many red rank killers just hover around the hook and only guard the gens around said hook to get as many cheap trade hooks as possible. That's when I will do everything I can do make the killer lose even if it gets me killed. As long as my team makes it I'm fine with being an Entity snack.
-
I will always cover/defend the unhooker with BT as it means you were camping to get a no skill trade hook anyways (unless the survivor unhooked right behind your back).
If you commit to me I'll just hop in a locker as I still run ds.
If you stand there for a minute you're gonna throw the game for 1 kill so my mission is complete.
Both sides are allowed to use "strategies".
-
Quote: "Bubba mains clearly have deep seeded issues and must display there unbridled rage upon thine survivors at all times."
You realize actual Bubba mains rarely camp, don't you?
If you're good as him you will never really feel like you have to even stay near a hook. Only trash Bubbas who haven't mastered him camp.

Because trivial stuff such as
"share your faked wholesome moments since they are incredibly rare amongst this community"
Is more important than being able to actually play the game without constant fps freezes.

There was a time when the community was smaller and better in 2018-2019.
When the community was smaller I encountered more survivors that were friends with the killer and thus teamed up to grief/troll the other survivors. Particularly back before crossplay.
-
The community has always been terrible for the most part. It hasn't gotten worse imo.
-
Hit validation is not active otherwise laggy and VPN-ing killers wouldn't be able to play with nothing but these kind of hits carrying them all day long.
I faced a VPNing Huntress from Brazil a while ago. Guy happened to be streaming. The hits were extremely delayed even on his own screen and on my screen the hatchets landed literally 10 meters behind me.
Guy played with red ping indicator all day.

Interesting. You do know that even on PC, killers can't communicate with the survivors until the match is over, right?
I'm very aware of that my friend. That's why he swung in the air similar to "I want to farm". After they had been toying around they were all just running through the map looking for me. When they found me things went as described.
Maybe they were together before the match even started. I encountered lots of "the killer is my friend" survivors lately.
-
That's not even the worst solo queue experience.
Yesterday I looped a Doctor for 3 minutes in 1 single chase.
He ended up begging the other PC players to sandbag me.
They teamed up, killed and bm'd me, then he let them go.
PC master race players at their finest.
Yes, I reported them.
No, they won't get banned.
-
Overrated killer that stands no chance against decent survivors who are luckily extremely rare.
-
Been a while since I checked this thread.
Oh the devs still don't care that their game literally freezes for up to 2 full seconds whenever virtually anything happens and runs on like 15 fps on Asylum (for instance) even though they promised 60 fps?
What a surprise.

Hm so we're just going to ignore the main problem of the 9 second clip (the bug) in order to perk shame? Seems legit.
Your swing connected with the crate due to latency. Big deal.

isn't dbd running bad on an 8 years old console understandable? I mean cmon, the ps4 has been released in 2013.
The new ps5/xbox series s/x can run this game a lot better (i'm pretty sure it could run dbd at 120fps, but the game is capped at 60 by default)
No, it isn't understandable - at all !
I'm playing damn Destiny 2 (on XB1) which has better graphics, a million particle and light effects and stupidly fast paced pvp matches yet I've NEVER experienced a single damn FPS drop.
Not - even - one - single - time!
Meanwhile DBD -a game with slow movements, very few effects and PS2 graphics- freezes for up to 2 full seconds everytime a status effect occurs.
-
You act like Freddy's nerf did anything.
-
Around rank 4 both sides. Anything better than 4 should be exclusive to players that absolutely never mess up and have optimal decision making at all times.
-
How did it feel ?

Funny how this is shared at least 3 times now, but it is considered completely fine that a Killer can win 50 games in a row. In a more realistic environment than those Cowshed-videos.
"Yeah, because Otz is doing that, he is a very good Killer!"... But Ayrun and Zubat are representations of the average Survivor player../s
Not to his mention 102 x 4ks as Plague in a row.

Spirit, Nurse, Pyramid Head, Bubba, Hillbilly etc
-
Me no fall for this !
-
@MadLordJack said:
I don't find Nurse to be all that different form Spirit because she has no counterplay, you're just banking on the Nurse not being good. People also massively overestimate how much practice it takes to be a good Nurse - give it a couple of hours and you'll be mowing down even the best survivors, so long as you also understand that only bad Nurses try and predict the survivors movement, go for 1-blink hits, and let survivors break LoS to mindgame them.
Playing against a Nurse is just hoping that the Nurse is a potato who doesn't understand how to blink. There's no real difference. It's not that hard to be a good Nurse. And even if you are going against a bad Nurse, chances are your teammates aren't familiar with bad Nurse counterplay and you're still going to lose.
This.
-
There is currently no perk in the game that stops a tunneler from tunneling.
Decisive Strike (to name a sample) is not gonna stop top tier killers who can instantly down you again after the stun (i.e. Nurse/Spirit and some non-top-tier killers as well such as Deathslinger)
-
What delay do you mean exactly?
Pyramid tehnically has multiple delays when going for a shot.
-
How is power creep a thing in DBD when the strongest stuff is literally years old and makes all the new stuff look weak ?

Yes according to both the dbd player stats pages. They just get off to the fact people think their actually bad at the game meanwhile theyre actually one of the best killers rn. Apparently they throw on survivor and facecamp in a couple of matches (probably to put up a false persona?) But ya cant deny their nurse starts.
If that's true someone should make a Sluzzy movie haha...

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250269/why-do-people-call-doctor-op
First, Nobody has ever said Doctor was OP. Second, he needs to be changed because of his ability. 99.999% of doctors run Ruin/ Undying and want to slow the game down as much as possible. there are add-ons and perks that make his terror radius literally 72 meters. If he has Clorophobia + Sloppy that can be a nightmare. He just spams his ability and it's annoying because you can't do anything and he gets a free hit every time if he uses it correctly
Many people (mostly new-ish / inexperienced players) do call him op. Someone even messaged me I'm a "coward for playing Doctor".
-
I believe it's because he's got a bit of everything in his kit.
- anti-stealth
- continuous tracking
- anti-loop
- gen slowdown (tier 3)
- madness skillchecks that may allow him to get that Pop Goes The Weasel gen-kick throughout the match
- anti-items (tier 3)
- anti-DeadHard (via shock stun)
Personally I find him perfectly balanced (vanilla).

I think it's wrong to say that Dead Hard requires 0 skill.
If a 0 hour player picks up the game uses David and equips Dead Hard, they are just going to get slaughtered without Dead Hard doing much for them.
I've seen survivors use Dead Hard too late and lose momentum for a fast vault and get hit in the medium vault. Or dash too far from the pallet and get vacuumed back into a hit while also dropping the pallet.
You also can't simply use Dead Hard in the middle of nowhere, because without being around safety it won't do anything to extend the chase longer than a few seconds.
The last thing with Dead Hard is that you can use it to Greed loops an extra time, but you do need the skill to determine if you have enough distance to do so. I've seen plenty of Dead Hard survivors try to greed a loop only for them to realize too late that I was too close for them to do so.
Good use of Dead Hard requires good positioning and good timing. You can't simply press E without having some skills to back up that decision. Dead Hard itself doesn't just automatically dash you to safety.
You're right. Guess I exaggerated in this regard. You do need some level of experience to get the most value out of DH.

I had to stop reading when I read FLASHLIGHT SAVE .
I'm way past that point as a killer, sorry . but I feel your pain.. I been there. Flashlights are annoying when we start playing the game.
Nice try at belittling someone. Childish.
Even long term streamers who literally play for a livingget flashlight blinded every now and then.
-
" Most people who complain about DH obviously don't play survivor and / or never use DH. "
Stopped reading as your post is the typical "if you don't agree with me you're a killer/survivor main" bs.
Dead Hard counters:
- hits (inconsistent, I agree)
- grants distance to get to a loop
- allows for flashlight saves that would otherwise been impossible to get
- counters most killer powers in the game which is particularly triggering when you would have hit them with a projectile killer who are often tricky to use in the first place.
- allows to greed virtually any loop with no risk (unless you can't evaluate the distance correctly)
It does too much considering it requires EDIT: a small level of experience.
-
No. Even without Ruin:
Pop Goes The Weasel is a thing.
Hooking survivors near a 90+% gen allowing the killer to get a free-trade-hook is also a thing.

No just without people with your kind of attitude.
If we had bots then folks wouldn't have to spend time online with someone like yourself, who (from the aggressive tone here) seems to be here only to tell other players to "Git gud".
This is the part of the comminuty that people are getting tired of. I'd love to be able to play a few games against AI when there is nothing but take it all to seriously, no fun, players online. I don't play to sweat every match, sometimes I might but for the most part no.
If I could rack up a custom game against AI for a laugh every now and then it would lengthen the lifepsan of this game and I think that's true for many casual players as we are all getting a lil tired of the overly competitive no fun "git gud" crowd.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2190968#Comment_2190968
Not survivos, but many players do.
Attitude? You mean people who just play the game for fun instead of crying when things don't go their way?
-
Because it's too easy to dominate most of your matches once you get mediocre as killer so at some point you just feel like you can bm survivors without the risk of losing to them so basically some people just bm because: Why not?

I didn't say I'm a good killer, I play this game for fun, unlike you I have a life that I don't spend "getting gud" at videogames or posting 4000 times on a forum. And I can tell you I don't have fun having 80% of the match be over in the first minute because I didn't feel like tryharding and getting 4 kills in 20 seconds.
If you play the game for fun then why are you here crying about survivors?
