45 seconds / pretty much a 1 time use perk that has to be combined with Iron Will and you're complaining?
Adapt.
-
Welcome to DBD - we have 99.99% kill rates but still moan about that one match where 2 people escape 😄
-
Just bring DS/Unbreakable.
-
Killer is more stressful.
Survivor is -by far- more frustrating especially solo.
-
It comes down to many factors. Builds, maps, the killer (character), rng etc. affect the outcome of a match massively.
Generally speaking though the game is survivor sided on the highest level of play.
However since the vast majority of survivors are not good at the game (most survivors are bad at looping, have terrible decision making AND avoid doing gens) killers typically win almost every single match even when using their powers poorly and chasing a single person too long as certain things are honestly too strong against non-optimal survivors.
Slugging + proxying hooks (resulting in easy trade hooks even whilst defending near-by gens) makes it hideously easy to dominate nearly every match even when using the killer's power poorly.
Even though I'm slugging entire teams myself if I see a chance to do so I think particularly slugging should receive a(nother) nerf at this point as I noticed killers that have literally no idea how to use their powers correctly make up for it by slugging. (looking at you mediocre Nurse players who miss a million blinks but make up for it by infectious slugging)
In my opinion a killer should not even have the slightest chance of getting all 4 kills if they aren't using their powers well.
A 4k should reflect your dedication and skill/experience. It shouldn't be the typical result of a mediocre killer player's match.

I thought his old self was more fair.
I would take original Bubba back in a heartbeat. Can't do my favourite meme gameplay anymore with new Bubba.
Since old Bubba could hold his chainsaw fully charged I would sometimes fool around with survivors by collecting 3 stacks of PWYF AND tier 3 Bloodlust (obviously I would do that only when I'm done playing seriously).
As a result I would actually catch up slowly whilst holding the chainsaw fully charged. Must have been quite a sight to see a Bubba catch up while holding the chainsaw.
-
How would you nerf Bubba? @Sluzzy
-
Quote: "I fill a sense of pride when I juke spirt ,or save someone with BT from a face camping Bubba"
Both of these things don't happen when the Spirit/Bubba in question knows what they're doing.
-
Dead Hard:
Nerf: Removed the iframes but can now be used at full health. (Yes, I dislike the iframes more than the distance as the iframes counter too many killer powers too easily).
-
I generally limit myself to a maximum of 1 green and 1 yellow addon.
Usually I bring a yellow and a brown one on any killer as I don't want to rely too much on addons that can't be easily sustained.
-
Quote: "Rights of the Damned to hit survivors through a reach of 10 Meters (Without Addons)"
The attack is called "Punishment Of The Damned" and the default range is 8 meters.

The first few games with her are hard because she relies completely on her blinks and can’t be played like a normal M1 Killer.
many stop playing after the first few frustrating matches and say she is hard to learn..
This.
She isn't really that hard to play once you make it past her skill-floor but she relies on her power more than any other killer in the game due to her movement speed.
You can beat (bad to mediocre) survivors even without using your power (correctly) when playing a regular 115% ms killer.
Nurse on the other hand? No, even the worst survivors will just beat you by running away in a straight line so you HAVE TO use your power and you HAVE TO land your blinks.
-
The iframes alone counter most of the killer powers in the game (like really most powers from Trapper's traps all the way to ranged killer powers that are often difficult to hit in the first place).
But then you can also just use it for distance as well sooo yeah... Definitely an unfair perk in my book.
It solely exists as an additional chance.
-
I usually like smaller streamers as they're more interactive and sometimes more knowledgeable than even the biggest streamers out there.
Only streamer I currently watch is a small german streamer called "Smashen". He's streaming in english despite being german.
Really like that guy as he analyzes everything in a polite and objective way.
He mains survivor (more specifically Kate) but is also very good at pretty much every killer and usually plays viewer builds (for free).
Not only that but he also tries to analyze every build before the match and tries to get everything to work so watching him is really fun and interactive unlike bigger streamers who are mostly like watching a YouTube clip due to their bigger number of viewers.
EDIT: Forgot to mention he's got more than 4000 hours in the game, too.
-
It sucks for the camped person but it's not unfair in terms of winning chances of both sides.
I versed a Bubba that facecamped first hook (and he got that first hook quickly at the start of the game) but since the camped person had Kindred we all kept doing gens and rushed through them like nothing. Almost had a 3 man escape.
If all survivors punished campers like that no one would ever facecamp again unless they had a personal problem with the survivor in question.
Right now killers are often resorting to (proxy) camping because survivors make it work by lurking around the hook doing nothing.

Plague takes no skill my balls. It's actually difficult to play as her against survivors that know what they're doing. The team you're going against is unpredictable. Will they cleanse, or will they play risky and smart?
And IF they cleanse - will they do it in a random corner where you can't go unless you want to lose gens ?

I don't think PH is easier than Plague. Judgement is incredibly difficult to land and properly dodgeable.
Not to mention mastering POTD means knowing all possible structures and rng by heart and how much the shockwave can bend on/over/down every single structure. It's safe to say no one has mastered PH yet. Even just the fairly plain decision-making when it comes to the trails takes more skill than most killers in the game.
-
You answered your own question:
"I'm thinking bad, selfish players don't get friends and has to chose the solo que and that good players always plays with friends and has voice chat, but is there something more to it?"
EDIT:
Good solo survivors exist but the majority of long term solos are just awful at the game on average based on my personal experience.
-
As killer: FPS drops that occur JUST as I'm about to hit a survivor.
As survivor: Seeing AFK teammates or hiding teammates via Bond while I'm getting chased.
-
@Smeagolthevile said:
It is literally a timed dodge skill, the entire point of the perk is the I frames, not the movement speed bonus. Removing it would make the perk do nothing.
Ever heard of Dead Hard for distance?
-
I hope it's coming back ASAP.
Playing survivor made sense for once as I was able to actually escape after holding chases and doing gens outside a chase.
During the test I only got 2 bad teams whereas now I'm back to getting almost nothing but teammates that seriously boot up the game to be afk at the start of the game OR hide in a random corner a million times per match (yes, I can see you not moving when I'm already at 50% of my first gen or derping around doing nothing. I'm running Bond at all times).
As for playing killer I had to face tournament teams and 6000+ hour Object-teams on a fairly regular basis anyway so MMR makes absolutely no negative difference for me in this regard.
If let's say a working MMR made me lose every single game at least the devs would get a more accurate look at the game's state because let's be honest:
The stats give you a ridiculously wrong idea about what the game looks like when all 4 survivors are actually good at the game.
Therefore a working MMR system may change the game for the better in the long run even if it made killer gameplay disgusting for a while.

It's what I want to see, tbh: if there's really be more spirits etc, or if the game would get more relaxed.
LBH: Bubba and Freddy especially have a gameplay that is too easily exploitable, which also lead to their high pickrate. They're iWin buttons. Pig and Ghostface are better balanced, and michael is michael.
Off topic: I keep wondering why Bubba has that high of a killrate. I'm currently taking a break from killer as I got a 2nd gaming setup so I can SWF with my gf. We encountered multiple Bubbas as he seems to be popular since his rework but we have yet to lose against one.
Yesterday we legitimately made a Bubba give up. He got literally 0 hooks at Azarov's Resting Place. Literally all it takes is a few windows to shut down his power and once he M1s just hold W across the map and see the gens fly.
Why do people fail against him so often? We also encountered a NOED-Bubba that facecamped first hook. We just rushed the gens and almost had a 3 man escape. The random decided to greed for the 2nd gate instead of coming with us which got them killed.
On topic: If let's say I were to play killer while licensed killers were disabled I'd probably switch to Stridor Spirit if I want to win and Infectious Hillbilly if I want to instadown and snowball/slug people. Not sure if people liked that more than facing my Bubba or Pyramid Head.
-
What's wrong with licensed killers ? Do you want to face even more Spirits and Nurses ?

There is a huge difference between things that are possible on every platform and things which are only possible on PC. The latter ones should be clearly seen as exploits and fixed.
Can't believe people are really comparing and even justifying exploits (i.e. Blight's first frame flick) because of intended mechanics (spinning survivors). Then again... That's the dbd forums for ya I guess.

The majority of killers are not my cup of tea.
However the few killers I despise are those that I will always refuse to play actively.
Nurse, Spirit and Hag.

How did that happen ?

Positivity in the DBD forums?!

Any killer can be S tier if you put your mind to it.
Surely you can't be serious.

In terms of 1v1 / ending chases:
Leatherface. His instadown is more potent than Hillbilly's no matter how you put it. Movement control beats movement speed due to the numerous map structures that allow survivors to turn around a corner every few meters. Hillbilly's curving only gets you around 1 corner so it's not an argument either. Also curving is completely unreliable due to invisible object-collisions.
In terms of map pressure/gen defense:
Hillbilly. His incredible speed allows him to go from "terror radius to chase" in literally 3 seconds and if he finds you outpositioned he will get his instadown quickly as well. As a result he will occasionally get very fast downs and be able to sprint back to a gen of his choice and defend it after hooking the quickly downed survivor.
On paper Hillbilly is a crazy killer but in reality he needs survivors that are quite mediocre at looping OR a map that doesn't allow survivors to loop and turn a lot otherwise he becomes a M1-no-power-killer whereas Leatherface can force down pallets and instadown you afterwards if there's no other pallet/vault near-by.
-
So I take it you want to talk to the manager?

You sure about that? I don't know how you're going to tell me what I faced and not faced. It's not impossible to win against a deathsquad as clown as long as you know what you are doing. I'm sorry people haven't put 1k hours into the guy like I have and some others have, but alright. I faced pretty good swf's prior to MMR, and yesterday all I got were 4 rank 1's with full loadouts all meta, and 3 gens popping even with corrupt up. Knew what they were doing, and yes they were deathsquads, because I rarely ever faced them before MMR came out.
Would be neat if you uploaded a match so people can see for themselves.
-
You can test the "supposed hit through pallets" via the tutorial.
The tutorial Meg drops the pallet at a 0 ping so try to hit her through the pallet drop animation by swinging whilst going around the rock.
The hit will actually connect despite the 0 ping if you time the hit correctly.
Conclusion: Hitting through the pallet is intended but may look fishy when even the tiniest bit of latency comes into play.

I'm talking about Killers that can use their abilities to break pallets....
BHVR doesn't want perks to directly buff killer powers so no, Brutal Strength doesn't affect pallet breaks caused by killer powers.
-
OP is referring to the new-ish offering that reveals the aura of basement hooks at the start of the game. You're thinking of the hatch spawn offering.
At topic: Knowing where the basement is can be important depending on who the killer is. Many killers are a lot more dangerous if they get a basement hook.
If it's Bubba, Trapper, Hag etc you will definitely want to avoid the basement at all times so this offering can come in handy.
-
Woow... I disagree about a lot here but it's your list.
-
The game is not even remotely balanced around good survivors and "fair-playing" killers.
Everyone who claims otherwise is straight up lying to you.
I've started playing SWF with 1 person. So 2-man SWF.
We started around a week ago and lost around 3 matches. Imagine if we played in a 4 man team.
In fact I don't feel like playing survivor anymore because it's just sitting on gens for a few minutes and escape without a chase or 1 chase.
Both of us are glued on gens and know how to loop just about any killer other than Nurse and Spirit so if the killer chases me it's GG and if the killer chases her it's GG as well UNLESS the 2 randoms refuse to do their part of the mission.
It is beyond me how people can play in a 4 man team with meta perks AND items without getting bored because even in a SWF-of-2 it feels like straight up bs how easily we win most of our matches.
-
I don't mind versing streamers even though streamers typically act like they were special.
Usually I'll watch the match from their POV and follow them if they're behaving like normal, humble human beings - which is incredibly rare amongst streamers.

Well I don't think prove thyself should exist let alone stack, there's legit no gameplay to it its a flat buff, better in swfs than solo q so its the holy trinity of what I don't like in a perk lol
Prove Thyself does have gameplay to it.
It makes co-op-gens viable so to get any value out of the perk you will often have to go out of your way to find your teammates who are often not even willing to do gens because annoying the killer is more fun.

I get the feeling Sluzzy isn’t serious, hence the massive exaggerations. They just love creating a storm.
Also I was looking at the dbd stats website the other day and I saw a Sluzzy on there, if its the same player (and very likely it is) they’re in the top 150 players in terms of stats. Not including private profiles.
I think sluzzy can run rings around most killers.
You definitely looked up the wrong profile.

It’s only use is for slugging. You can usually just walk away after you scream and be fine. If you hear the terror radius and suspect a teammate will go down, get inside a locker.
Some of my most tense moments in DBD were during the broken MMR testing; which pitted rank 20s against rank 1s, and rushing to lockers to hide from an infectious fright Oni as my team was massacred.
Why would you get inside a locker?
-
There's no other clients when playing the tutorial and the tutorial map is tiny.
Not really an excuse for the poor performance. More of an observation.

Don't even get me started on last gen Consoles.
It's atrocious and they know it. They said they committed to fixing it, but that was two full years ago.
As much as I love DBD I can not believe how poorly it is running to this very day.
I'm playing Destiny 2 on my old XBOX One right now. A huge open world-ish, high graphics, fast paced online shooter with a million effects happening every few seconds yet I experience exactly 0% fps freezes.
Meanwhile DBD: One character (killer) attacks another character (survivor) and applies a debuff (sloppy butcher) - *ENTIRE GAME FREEZES FOR UP TO 3 SECONDS*
-
Your idea of "balance" is off.
Balance in any PVP game = the better player wins.
If I outskill all my opponents (just theoretically) even a 100% win rate can be balanced.
Making it so I artificially lose to worse players just so a match ends in a 2k no matter how bad they play is not balanced.
-
Pyramid Head already can't compete at the highest level of play. He got nerfed twice because survivors can't make smart plays.
1 more Pyramid Head nerf and I will go back to Leatherface.
-
"Pyramid takes no skill"
No one has ever said that unless they were trolling.
-
All PVP game communities are naturally toxic in my experience. DBD is certainly not an exception.

Did you seriously not get the point of my comment?
-
@Gay_Police_Dept said:
IF they managed to do 5 gens in 3 minutes your skills need to be fixed, not the game.
The "skill argument" is bs. Even Otz lost all 5 gens in 3.5 minutes a while ago and he basically lives in the Entity's realm at this point (based on the amount of time he invests playing/streaming DBD)
-
I just watched the first clip and gotta say that wasn't all that fast considering their builds and communication.
My gf recently had quicker gens in SOLO QUEUE with NO toolboxes and NO prove thyself. Map was Bloodlodge.
2 min 40 sec for 4.5 gens. The 4th gen popped after 2 min 40 sec and my gf was already sitting on the last gen and had 50% repaired.
I clipped it, too. Just in case someone doubts it.
-
As killer: 100% competitive unless I notice my opponents are casual gamers.
As survivor: 100% chill gamer. I don't even bring exhaustion perks. The only meta perk I run is DS but other than that I usually try all kinds of "fun builds". I'm currently toying around with Bloodpact as a solo survivor.
Can be hella fun if I get a smart obsession.
